That was the first time I ever heard Amy Winehouse sing.. I dig it. She really needs to get her life together, though. I can't believe how skinny she is.

Also, is it just me or was Rihanna less hot than usual?

Amy Winehouse is garbage.....her songs suck and she's a drug addict. Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney should have won awards instead of drug addicts like Amy Winehouse and horrible horrible rappers. Yes...beacuse if there were no drugs involved in music, musicians like Bob Marley would have made the same artistic statements & the same impact on the world. I dont support drug usage & I'm not a fan of it, & I know she has a lot of problems, but you cant deny the fact that she is one hell of a musican who found a NEW outlet in music to connect to where she revamped an unfamiliar style to a new audience. Opposed to the constant BS out there in the music business. And I'm a huge Beatles fan, but dont try to sit there & act like they were total saints throughout their music career.

So yeah...Amy Winehouse had the best reaction of the night...and Carrie Underwood has no stage presence whatsoever. Tina Turner may have moved like a robot, but it was a robot that showed more life than the singing statue that is Carrie Underwood.
Jason Bateman was funny too.

Any great musical act has had a run in with drugs at one point or another in their career. Lennon did heroine, Elvis,Cash were on speed and downers. Hendrix. The list goes on for days. Drugs are part of the musical culture. That being said. Drugs are not what hurt people. The abuse of these drugs is what kills.

Slayer won a Grammy...the Metalocalypse has begun! Awesome to see Amy Winehouse win so many awards, too. That album really is flawless. Also it was great to see Bruce pick up some gold too. That album makes up for that Seager Sessions crap! Wait, Slayer won this year too? They won last year, how or why can they be nominated for a song on the same album two years in a row?

Amy winehouse looks absolutely ing ridiculous and just a straight up hot mess. How her manager lets her go out into public looking like that I'll never know. BLAAAAAKE probably lets that happen

I haven't watched the Grammy's since Metallica lost the Heavy Metal/Hard Rock category to Jethro Tull...

Herbie Hancock won Album of the Year.. talk about a pity win. Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, Dave Holland, Lionel Loueke... That's not a lineup that needs pity. I'm pretty sure they are better musicians than Kanye West and Dave Grohl.

I thought there were some really cool an enjoyable performances last night, even from artists that I don't tend to like at all.
Foo Fighters and Kanye's performances stole the show for me, and I was very glad to see Dave and company pick up the award for Best Rock Album.
I lost a bit of a respect for Kanye during his speech, though. He was in the right when asking them to shut off the music, but he comments he was making about himself were a little ridiculous.

You'd think he would have started talking about his mother right out of the gate instead blowing himself on stage for his alloted 45 seconds.

The Grammys are now airing here in the UK
For a little man, Prince sure knows how to swagger. Gotta love that Sinatra joke
