I don't have a top ten. Just have 2 really.
Avenged Sevenfold's Synyster Gates and Disturbed's Dan Donegan.
Not saying I don't like other's. Those are just my favorites.
Edit: Oh yeah, and Coheed and Cambria's Travis Stever.

1-9. David Gilmour 10. Jimmy Page I can't wait till you get out of your teenage classic rock phase. Not putting Jimmy Page on that list is blasphemy to the Guitar Gods. I'm not saying he's number one but he's way better than Clapton.

I can't name ten because there's so many, but I'll name my favorites.
Jimi Hendrix There's many guitar legends but only one guitar god. Yes speed playing is impressive but Hendrix had it all. Just look at what he did to some of Bob Dylan songs. He completely turned things around, and made them his own.
Rivers Cuomo. I'm not saying he's one of the best because he's not, but he's the reason I wanted to play guitar. Also to fit in Weezer's style of music he really holds himself way back. When he wants he can make his guitar scream. He holds himself back to keep in with that pop, nerd rock music that I love so much. After knowing what he can do with a guitar you will see that Weezer's songs are almost a joke to him when it comes to the guitar play.
Joe Satriani
Eric Clapton
Bob Dylan Well not as a guitar player so much, just his ability to write songs.

1 - John Frusciante
IMO the greatest guitarist of all time, he can do it all on the guitar. I love how pretty much every solo on SA was improvised from jam sessions and the amount of energy he puts into every performance is amazing.
2 - Johnny Marr
3 - Jimi Hendrix
4 - Prince
5 - Jimmy Page
6 - Kirk Hammet
7 - Hillel Slovak
8 - Tom Morello
9 - Kurt Cobain
10 - Keith Richards

But really.
Kirk Hammet, Prince, Slash, Clapton, Hendrix. Every list should be pretty much identical.

1-9. David Gilmour 10. Jimmy Page I can't wait till you get out of your teenage classic rock phase. I was like that in about 7th grade, then I realized it was getting boring and old because I listened to the same songs to much and I knew that they weren't gonna come out with new ones.
