Give me a ing break. It's a movie based on fictional creatures, the movies weren't made to showcase amazing acting that is oscar worthy, it was about the ing Predators and the Aliens, PERIOD. No one is going to see a movie just about them, so the in human element needs to be there for the audience to have a connection to. I've heard time and time again people want this and that with a movie without humans... no casual audience attendee is going to want to hear Predators speak perfect english, likewise they don't want to read subtitles of their own language. The back story was set up well enough, the story itself was done well, and if your theater wasn't dark enough, or the projector sucked and you couldn't see anything, that's too bad. I saw everything very well, and enjoyed it with an enthusiastic audience. I understand the Human interaction debate, but let's face the facts here: Predator 1 had GREAT human interaction. Arnold and his crew felt like they were a crew out on a blind mission Predator 2: Danny Glover and his crew felt like a family (besides Paxton) and that's how they played their roles. They played off each other. Alien: Ripley was a woman with sh*tty luck, and I believed it! AVP? Sexy scientist chick Ashante and her gang of modelesque explorers... whatever. AVPR: NOTHING remotely interesting or relevant happens to anyone in this movie So even if we all WANT a straight balls-to-the-wall Aliens vs Predator movie we still shouldn't have to be subjected to flaccid human characters

I totally agree with that, and can accept it.
I think they've been trying new things, and try as they might, they've below the mark of the previous films...which is why I don't compare them as such. To me, the memorable characters are the creatures.
I think if we EVER get a straight up Predator 3... we'll all be in for a great ride. Especially, seeing as how there are a lot of directors that want something to do with the franchise, even James Cameron has said he'd like to do something with them...
Which brings me back to an earlier post I made, which I said, if Fox does go through with AVP3, it'll be in outer space...which has potential for an unbelievably good movie. I just pray a good story is written, and Cameron is hired.

I'd rather see the next movie be Predator 3. I'd like to know more about their culture. I've heard the (possible) storylines, and I don't think they sound very good. The Deadlier of the Species: A lone Predator hunts down Dutch (from Predator) and tries to kill him. This doesn't make sense. The Predators are known to respect foes worthy of them. And besides, it's very unlikely for Arnold return to this role, and he's the only REAL Dutch out there. Predators: A predator stalks crewmen on a 17th century ship. This sounds alright, but this story would fit better for Aliens, since they're fast and agile, and can climb in small holes like vents. The Zoo: The Predators capture Dutch (from Predator) and Harrigan (from Predator 2) since they're the only human who have ever killed a Predator. Then they would be made into gladiators on the Predators home planet. And again, the Predators respect foes worthy of them, why'd they still bother Harrigan and Dutch?

Just saw this yesterday, and yeesh, it was terrible. The only good parts was when the Predator was onscreen and the poorly written humans weren't. I miss the good Alien and Predator movies.

I thought the film was a good homage to the comics. I kinda liked that the humans sucked because I WANTED them to die. Haha. I know the Predator in this film is referred to as "Wolf", but did anyone else catch his cracked tusk, like the infamous Pred from the comics? I saw that as another cool reference.
The only part I didn't really get was the soldier woman and how she knew how to fly and helicopter AND drive a tank... The way I had it figured, soldiers usually know one or the other...

I really didn't enjoy this movie as much as some of the trailers stated that I would. For one there was no big fight between any army of Aliens or Predators as they suggested might happen. Of course all the extended versions of the trailors showed that there would really only be one Predator, but that is totally intellectually- disabled as i wanted to see more than just one. Oh well. The acting was horrible too but other then that, the kill scenes were pretty good.

Briefly on board the ship before it went down, the high school pool, the sewer system, the sports store, the power plant, and the hospital. There is supposed to also be a deleted scene in the DVD, of a graveyard scene.
