Mindless monster movie action I know your intent however, I don't think a HUGE Rambo fan has any place to talk about "Mindless" especially when it pertains to a movie... just saying, I'm a Rambo fan too btw and I'm gonna see it tommarow I never said there was anything wrong with mindless. I like mindless. Just depends on what you are in the mood for. Rambo is only mindless because he will physically shove your mind out of your skull with his thumb.

I believe his 9/11 comment was directed towards toe movies "aluusions of 9-11" that critics are b*tching about. Yeah and its really stupid. I mean..... 1. that was 6 years ago. 2. Is that all you all are gonna think when anything happens to NYC now?

I was definitely more creeped out by the bug things that fell off of the monster... And I'm not even 'scared' of spiders.

I just got back from seeing it and it was a great movie. But most people hated it. You really needed to do research before you see it. I also caught the satalite falling in the last scene.

Saw it a second time tonight and enjoyed it just as much, if not more than the first time.
I went in thinking it might lose a bit of it's flare, but it didn't. My heart still raced from the second the lights cut during the party to the very final scene.
Stupid me, I watched closely for the falling piece of satellite in the final scene and didn't see it, I was pissed.
I still can't put into words how much I enjoyed this movie, it was well worth paying the $8.50 to see a second time.

I just realized these posters are very similar. Same idea perhaps? Lady liberty always gets screwed over in disaster movies...

Imagine how awesome it would be if it awoke a sleeping monster. That attacked and destroyed all of Maryland! You should go buy a Handy Cam Knight(you know.....just in case) I mean after all.... "People are gonna wanna know how it all went down."

The head of Liberty scene in Cloverfield is based upon a poster for "Escape from New York" with the head in the streets of NY. So no, Day After and Cloverfield did not use the same idea, they just used the Statue as a symbol of New York being destroyed.

And they both stole it from Planet of the Apes Yeah, because "Apes" was in modern day New York. Right. Look at the poster i posted above, thats the direct influence on Cloverfield's use of the head of Liberty.

I pretty much enjoyed Cloverfield though I really was disappointed at the end. I really didnt like the fact that they died where they died and at the same time really didn't see how that added to the movie. I have read in EW that even though the movie did pretty damn well and will probalby bring in more rewards, that there has been no official talk of doing any kind of sequel. JJ is working on getting a show on Fox Network.
