I don't get to go to many concerts, mainly because none of my friends like the stuff I want to see, and it's no fun going alone. I went to see a local band a few years ago named Two Ton Shoe. Their drummer (Dave DiCenso) was the son of my best friend's drum teacher. Dave is also a great friend of Chad Smith who was a special guest at the concert. The first half of the show they played all their original stuff, and then the second half, had came out and they rocked out with some RHCP songs with dual drummers. The very end of the show was amazing, it was pretty much just a drum battle, with Chad and Dave trying to out-drum each other. It was a really fun show. I saw "Weird Al" Yankovic during his 'Running With Scissors' Tour. That was a great show as well. I've gone to see a bunch of other local bands as well. The only other big show I've gone to was Daughtry and 12 Stones. I wasn't a huge fan of Daughtry going in (I didn't hate him, I just wasn't expecting much), so I figured it'd be a mediocre show. little did I know that 12 Stones (who have been one of my favorite bands for quite a while) were opening the show. That totally made the show for me. Daughtry did put on a great show though, and I was impressed. After the show I got to talk with 12 Stones a little bit, and they were really cool guys. It's always great to meet someone whose work you enjoy and find out they actually do appreciate their fans. So yeah, not many big name bands, but some memorable experiences nonetheless.
