Takeshi Morishima unavailable in immediate future, ROH World Title Vacated 9th May 2007 We gained word from Takeshi Morishima this morning that he will be unavailable to work for Ring of Honor in the immediate future. As a result of this the Ring of Honor World Heavyweight Championship has been vacated, and will be decided at ‘Respect is earned’ between Matt Sydal and the returning Austin Aries. Can Aries become the first ever two time ROH World Champion?
ROH Newswire 09/09: We are sure you have read about the return of Austin Aries, but another wrestler coming in to ROH is Tyler Black. Black will feature at ‘Respect is Earned’ when he faces another new face, Ted Dibiase Jr.
09/09: We have to announce a number of changes to this weekends cards as a result of schedule conflicts. Nigel McGuiness will be unavailable for both nights, so Rocky Romero will be taking his spot against Mike Quackenbush at ‘Reborn again’, and against Jimmy Rave at ‘Respect is earned’. Bryan Danielson will be unavailable, so Claudio Castagnoli will take his place against Davey Richards.
10/09: We are sad to announce that Davey Richards match against Claudio Castagnoli at ‘Respect is Earned’ will be his last within Ring of Honor, at least for the time being. Richards is heading for pastures new, in the form of World Wrestling Entertainment. We wish him all the best.
11/09: We have more sad news for ROH fans. Not only will Davey Richards be departing us, but Chris Hero will also make his final appearance at ‘Respect is Earned’, as he will also be departing for World Wrestling Entertainment.
12/09: Below is the card for tonight’s event.
Ring of Honor Reborn Again May 12th 2007 – 7pm bell time New Alahambra Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
ROH Reborn again – Current Line Up The return Austin Aries V. Jack Evans
Roderick Strong V. BJ Whitmer
Rocky Romero V. Mike Quackenbush
Winner challenges the Briscoe’s tomorrow night Delirious & Hallowicked V. The Irish Airborne

Pretty lackluster card. It sucks that all of the big ROH stars are out. All of the matches should be decent, Incoherence for the win plz. Also go Daizee Haze.

ROH Reborn Again Results Date: 12th May 2007
The night kicks off with Matt Sydal making his way to the ring. Sydal announced that Takeshi Morishima could not be here tonight, because knew that he would have been embarrassed if he did. Matt Sydal then layed down an open challenge, which was answered by Jigsaw.
Matt Sydal defeated Jigsaw in 13:29 by pinfall with a Cyclorama A great way to start the show, especially with this being an impromptu match. Sydal came out strong, and never really looked like losing early on. Jigsaw would fight back, hitting some quick moves to keep Sydal off guard. Sydal would not back down however, hitting a superkick, and following it up with the Cyclorama for the victory. Rating: C+
Mark Briscoe defeated El Generico in 8:14 by pinfall with a Cut Throat Suplex. Another good match, which could have gone either way. Briscoe looked like a sure bet to win, but he was caught off guard by Generico early on with a dropkick. Generico would not have control for long as Briscoe would fight back with some brutal shots. Briscoe would eventually put Generico away with the Cut Throat Suplex, which would leave Generico down and out. Rating: C+
Four Corners Bout Adam Pearce defeated Matt Cross, Smash Bradley and Pelle Primeau in 14:23 when Adam Pearce defeated Smash Bradley by pinfall with a Big Splash. This match was complete chaos, nobody could gain an advantage, although Pearce and Cross were the only people who really impressed. Bradley just seemed like the extra man, and while Cross and Primeau were brawling on the outside Pearce would hit a downed Bradley with the Big Splash followed by the three count. Rating: C-
Kevin Steen defeated Ricky Reyes in 12:56 by pinfall with a Package Piledriver. This match was excellent, Steen and Reyes both went out with the intention of winning, so neither man would give an inch, going all out. Reyes would hit some stiff shots early on, which were just returned ten fold by Steen, who really took control after a brutal boot to the skull of Reyes. Steen would escape from the Dragon Sleeper, and would go on to hit the Package Piledriver for the pinfall. Rating: B
ROH Women’s Championship Match Lacey defeated Daizee Haze and Sara Del Rey in 14:33 when Lacey defeated Daizee Haze by pinfall following interference from Gran Akuma. The first ever Women’s Championship match went down much better than expected. All three women involved would went all out to put on the best match possible, with Sara Del Ray putting on the star performance. Haze would take out Del Ray after the Mind trip, and would look close to doing the same to Lacey. The shocking ending came after Gran Akuma came down to ringside, and his presence was enough to distract Haze for Lacey to get the roll up victory. Rating: C+
Winner challenges The Briscoes Tomorrow night Delirious and Hallowicked defeated Jake Crist and Dave Crist in 10:40 when Delirious defeated Jake Crist by pinfall with a Chemical Imbalance #2. A decent tag bout that saw Delirious putting on one hell of a performance. Delirious and Hallowicked never looked likely to lose, and they controlled the majority of the match. Jake Crist would be taken out early on by a suicide dive from Hallowicked, leaving Dave Crist to get hit with the Chemical Imbalance #2, followed by the pinfall. Rating: C-
--Intermission--
The Briscoe Brothers are backstage. The Briscoe’s talk about their tag title defense tomorrow night, ending it with “Delirious, Hallowicked, you better man up”.
Lacey cut a promo accompanied by Gran Akuma. Lacey announced Akuma was her new bodyguard, and that from here on in, it would be smooth sailing for the ROH Women’s Champion.
Chris Hero came down to the ring to talk about how he is leaving for WWE, also mentioning Davey Richards’ departure. Hero said that he was glad that he was not competing in front of these lousy fans (which got some incredible heat), before announcing that tomorrow night, he will go out with a bang.
--End Intermission--
Mike Quackenbush defeated Rocky Romero in 16:44 by pinfall with a Quackendriver II. Romero filled in during the match, and put on one hell of a match in the process. Romero would gain the advantage early on, but Quackenbush would use his speed to gain the upper hand, hitting some incredibly quick moves, keeping Romero off guard. Romero would fight back, refusing to go down without a fight, but he was taken out by the Quackendriver II, which allowed Quackenbush to get the pin. Rating: B
Roderick Strong defeated BJ Whitmer in 18:54 by submission with a Strong Hold. Easily the best match of the night, these two put on one hell of a match. This was a pure hard hitting brawl, and the crowd really got into it, right from the start. Whitmer would have the power advantage throughout, but could not manage to put Strong away, despite hitting a brutal knee which split Strong open. Strong would continue the fight, and hit a massive backbreaker, followed by the Strong Hold. Whitmer would have no choice but to tap, giving a bloodied Strong the victory. Rating: A
The return Austin Aries defeated Jack Evans in 22:56 by pinfall with a 450 Splash. The crowd popped for Aries return, and I mean popped. Aries put on a spectacular display, and really showed why he was such a big star in his last run in Ring of Honor. Evans would not go down without a fight, and somehow held Aries off, and nearly got the win a number of times. Aries would end up hitting a brainbuster, followed by the 450 Splash for the victory. Rating: B-
Post Match Aries grabbed a microphone. Aries announced that it was good to be back, and that everyone should be ready, because there’s a new champion in town. The crowd chanted “Lets go Aries” and “Next world champ” to end the show.
Overall rating: B-

okay.
-- I liked the opening segment with Sydal, his match with Jig was a hot opener, great way to kick off the show. Hopefully Sydal gets a push or something in the future.
-- Briscoe/Generico was also good, but there wasn't really a point to it. I would have liked i if Kel Steenerico/Briscoes were feuding and you split the teams up to face each other in singles matches or something.
-- The four way survival match was decent, lackluster except for the fact that Cross and Pearce were in it. I would have liked to see something play out of this instead of Peace just picking up the win. Also I would have him get some heel heat by maybe having Shane Hagadorn interfere on Pearce's behalf.
-- Again pretty much no point to the Steen/Reyes match. Meh at least Steen won.
-- Yeah you should have just had the SHIMMER title defended instead of creating your own belt, meh Akuma. FINALLY SOME STORYLINE DEVELOPMENT!
-- The tag match was good, glad Incoherence got the win, doubt they'll win tomorrow tbh.
-- I would have preferred maybe Jacobs be the one to help Lacey win the match instead of Akuma coming in out of the blue. But this 'bodyguard' gimmick could work.
-- Boo Hero and Davey to the E, well bi.
-- Quack/Rocky, roar for like the 5th match no storytelling. Yeah well Quack got the win so yay.
-- Strong/Whitmer, ok brutal match, glad Strong got the win, with all these big names leaving, I hope to see Strong step up in the main event scene in the future.
-- Main event was good MOTN, yeah Aries is back. cool stuff.
Yeah really, really lack luster show. It may have been because most of your guys couldn't make it to the show. But yeah it lacked a lot. Pretty much no development storyline wise. Hopefully night 2 will be better.

ROH Respect is Earned
Pre Show: Shane Hagadorn defeated Alex Payne in 5:46 by pinfall with a Big Lariat. Nothing much to say about this, Hagadorn controlled Payne for most of the match, putting him away with the Big Lariat. Rating: D+
Main Show:
Tyler Black defeated Ted Dibiase Jr. in 8:58 by pinfall with a God's Last Gift. This match was only intended to showcase the two newest editions to the Ring of Honor roster, although neither put on an impressive showing. The crowd were evenly behind the two, and Black put Dibiase away with the God’s Last Gift. Rating: D
El Generico defeated Jigsaw in 11:52 by pinfall with a Mucho Hangtime Splash. Both of these came in after losses in yesterdays show, and both put on a strong performance. The crowd seemed solidly behind Generico, and he got the win to a great reaction. Rating: C
BJ Whitmer and Daizee Haze defeated Gran Akuma and Lacey in 12:59 when Gran Akuma was counted out. Akuma may have met his match in the form of BJ Whitmer, who put on another solid performance here. Akuma tried to scare Whitmer off, but he was having none of it, and the match was basically a big brawl between the two, although there was some good wrestling between Haze and Lacey. Akuma was eventually counted out after brawling with Whitmer on the outside. Whitmer managed to get back into the ring, but Akuma was not so lucky. Rating: C+
Post Match: Akuma and Lacey made their way to the back, with Whitmer simply staring at them the whole time.
ROH World Tag Team Championship Match The Briscoe Brothers defeated Delirious and Hallowicked in 15:33 when Jay Briscoe defeated Hallowicked by pinfall with The Crucible. This was shown as a pure brawl against technical showdown and the crowd really got into it, and were split between the two teams early on. Delirious put on an excellent showing, and the crowd really got behind him. A botched dropkick by Hallowicked would set him up for the Crucible and the pinfall. Rating: C-
Post Match: The Briscoe’s celebrated in the ring with the gold. Delirious started shouting a load of gibberish at Hallowicked, who just stood there. Delirious walked to the back still talking. Jay Briscoe could be seen mouthing “What the ****”
Chris Hero came out prior to his match shouting “Thank god I am out of here”, which got massive heat.
Chris Hero’s last match in ROH Brent Albright defeated Chris Hero in 17:55 by pinfall with the One Night Stand. The crowd was completely behind Albright during the whole thing. Hero seemed to be in control for most of the match, but Albright just exploded with a series of moves that ended with the One Night Stand, and the pinfall. Rating: B-
Frankie Kazarian defeated Mike Quackenbush, Kevin Steen and Ricky Reyes in 15:22 when Frankie Kazarian defeated Ricky Reyes by pinfall with a Flux Capacitator. This was a completely impromptu match that turned into the best match prior to the intermission. Kazarian debuted here and put on the star performance, although Reyes seemed off his game. The match ended with a series of events that saw Steen lay out Quackenbush, Reyes clearing Steen out of the ring, before being hit with the Flux compacitor, followed by the pinfall. Rating: B
-- Intermission –
Lacey and her bodyguard Gran Akuma are backstage. Lacey hypes the power of Akuma, and that Whitmer has just made an enemy that he does not need.
Chris Hero is seen backstage, grabbing his bags and storming out of the arena. The whole arena went into a chorus of “Ha, Ha Goodbye”
-- End Intermission –
Rocky Romero defeated Jimmy Rave in 16:45 by submission with a Jujigatame. Romero put on another solid performance, and the crowd really got behind him during this match. Romero and Rave shared some excellent spots, and at one point both were laid out after Romero hit a superplex on Rave from the top rope. Romero would get the submission victory, which got a great reaction from the crowd. Rating: B-
Davey Richards last match in ROH Davey Richards defeated Claudio Castagnoli in 21:02 by pinfall with a Shooting Star Press. Richards went out in style in an incredible match, and definitely the match of the night. The crowd was hot for this match, and the entire match provided wall to wall action. Richards shined here, and it will be sad to see him go. Richards and Castagnoli exploded into an incredible end streak, which saw Richards and Castagnoli countering countless moves before Richards hit a high impact DDT before going to the top rope and hitting the Shooting Star Press for the victory. Rating: A
Post match Davey Richards celebrated in the ring, while the crowd chanted “Please don’t go”. Richards got pretty emotional about it.
ROH World Championship Match Austin Aries defeated Matt Sydal in 24:31 by pinfall with a 450 Splash. Austin Aries wins the ROH World Heavyweight title. Sydal was aiming for his first ROH World title here tonight, while Aries looked to become the first ever two time ROH World champion. The crowd was into the match, and the majority was backing Aries for the victory. Sydal put on an excellent performance, and Aries did not let the fans down either. Sydal would get a number of near falls before going to the top rope, but ended up missing a top rope crossbody, and Aries hit him with a brainbuster, followed by the 450 splash to get the win, and the title. Rating: B-
Post Match: As the nights action comes to an end, Austin Aries celebrated with the ROH World Heavyweight Championship, having become the first man to ever win it twice. Bryan Danielson came out and stared at Aries, and the title.
Overall Rating: B

Good show, but something's really ticking me off. It's not called the ROH World Heavyweight Championship. It's the ROH World Championship. Period.

Why was Kazarian on that show if TNA pulled their talent from ROH bookings? Sucks that you couldn't have Morishima/Sydal, because I HATE Aries and I HATE the idea of him as champion. And I doubt something like "Chris Hero is seen backstage, grabbing his bags and storming out of the arena. The whole arena went into a chorus of “Ha, Ha Goodbye” would happen on a ROH show. And how did Akuma get counted out? ROH doesn't do countouts. I wish you would have held black off and did the whole AOTF thing with him, but whatever, that's your choice.
I didn't like the show, it just didn't scream 'ROH' to me.

Why was Kazarian on that show if TNA pulled their talent from ROH bookings? Kazarian was released from his TNA contract, so I snapped him up. I wish you would have held black off and did the whole AOTF thing with him, but whatever, that's your choice. I have something planned for Black, which will start with the next couple of shows.
