Rock did the smart thing...Hell, I gurantee if Flair had the option to act over wrestling, and get the money and perks with it, he would've taken it. Hell, now Steve Austin is the next "wrestler trying to be an actor."
Don't get pissed at The Rock because he is successful. If any of the other wrestlers who tried to be actors (Hogan, Piper, Ventura, Sting (i think he tried it out), Goldberg, Cena, HHH...) actually wsere successful and had made a dozens of successful films, and not made crap films, they would've stopped coming back to wrestle and would be making films.
Any logical person, would take a that profession that pays way more and doesn't kill your body over the years, over one that does.
If Flair could've pulled a Rock, he problay would've. I support people who make smart decisions reguarding their personal life and career, and family.
I just imagine The Rock didn't want to have to wrestle the rest of his life to make a living, like Flair. I couldn't imagine the toll it took on Flair's body over the past years, the way he kept wrestling. The Rock didn't wanna be in the ring, in his 70's....still trying to make a living.
Also, really....what else could Rock ever accomplish in wrestling? Atleast he still watches the product, as was evident.

I agree with everything except when you said Austin and Flair would do movies if they could rather then wrestling. Austin cannot wrestle anymore. What else would he do, except an on air character on WWE progamming? And I really doubt Flair would go Hollywood on his wrestling career.

Mike Johnson from PWI said that Rock DID hang out and spend time with guys like Mick Foley, Steve Austin, Chris Jericho and Big Show, basically his old friends and these reports were false. So I don't even believe this crap.
Oh and, Rock>>>>_______

For all who were argueing with me I will say it again, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is a sellout piece of ****!! He sold out wrestling and it`s fans to play "Mr. Hollywood" which he sucks at by the way!!! Well that's a witty, intellectual, well thought out set of insults. This story is typical dirt sheet/tabloid press gossip. They write it to sell more copies and people who are incapable of thinking for themselves buy into it. I'm in my second year of a Journalism course at University and one of the first things I remember learning was that, a lot of the time, when a magazine or newspaper 'quotes' a 'close friend' or 'inside source' it's usually completely made up just to stir the pot a bit more. This article is a perfect example of that. I'm not saying that it is 100% false and that what has been reported never for a fact happened, because there is a slim chance, and I mean, slim chance, that it could be true, but considering Cena's recent interview with The Sun here in the UK where his comments about The Rock gained a lot of publicity, it's not surprising one of the wrestling dirtsheets latched onto the subject and ground some more mileage out of it following The Rock's HoF appearance.

Oh this is such garbage.
The Rock cut a promo like he always does.
If he had just played it straight and ONLY spoke about his family, the internet would've been bitching that he "used" WWE and could've "gave a little something for his fans to remember him by".
And HHH is going to rag on someone for talking crap about another worker?
How about HHH calling Abe Knuckleball Schwartz, The Brooklyn Brawler?
HHH has cut the legs out from under more guys than anyone in the history of the business. How about the time HHH exposed Chris Masters on national television for being a roid user? Anyone remember how HHH told Masters that he should write a book about how to lose 25lbs of muscle in 4 weeks?
What about all of the inside comments that HHH makes about people? What about HHH hogging up 45 minutes of RAW on most weeks? HHH is not the person who should be complaining about The Rock.
As for the rest of the WWE roster, they are just upset that The Rock can make one "lousy movie" and earn more money than anyone on the WWE roster can make in 3 years with a full time WWE schedule.
The Rock poked fun at himself while paying compliment to Flair and Foley and Austin. Even when he ribbed Cena, he took a potshot at himself for Doom.
He did nothing different than when he cut promos on people on TV. How come everyone loves the clip from No Way Out 2002 when he refers to Hall as Ramone and Nash as Diesel and makes fun of Hogan? How is that clip ANY different from the type of promo he cut at the HOF?
Besides, WWE obviously wanted him to act like The Rock. Do you think that handheld microphone was stored inside the podium for no reason? Come on now!
