Listen to Why? They'll change your opinion about the genre. "Alopecia" is beautiful.

Problem with hip hop lovers are, when they say rock sucks they...
1. hear the bullcrapplayed on the radio or TV (i.e. Three Days Grace and Nickleback, crapbands) 2. Don't understand the lyrics or point of the songs (That goes with metal mainly, but not scream-o crap) 3. Don't like it cause it's not "cool"

Maybe for some. I DO however listen to some underground rap that I like, however, some lyrics for those are just stupid as well. But it's not just rap, all music has crapthat is good and equally bad.
To me, personally, rap is becoming too commercialized and the media is trying to make it seem like it's about nothing more than "booty, drugs, killing" **** that I mentioned or stupid Soulja Boy ****. Fact is: it's working. Cause many rappers are now following that formula, much to the media's pleasing. Why? The media/government is afraid of REAL music (Rap or rock) where people speak out against the wrongs of America and ect., so they give us this branded crap like 50 Cent and Nickleback instead.

I love how when people talk about hip-hop they always put "hip-hop sucks now because" and before they end the sentence they always seem the need to put "soulja boy" somewhere in there... Does he represent hip-hop? No. The guy isn't trying to be the best rapper alive. He is putting out dance music..snap music...whatever the f*** you want to call it. It is fun to listen to when you're in a club. Just like some hip-hop lovers will never understand "moshing" you guys who hate on rap will never understand the purpose of snap music.. If I feel depressed and like I want to sit on a corner and cry I'll listen to some Eric Clapton "Tears in Heaven"... If I want to get pumped up for when I'm pissed off I'll listen to Metallica "Enter Sandman".. If I want to sit back at my pad and drink a 4-0...I'll listen to some snoop and Dre. I listen to all kinds of s***. So I just find it so hard to believe that some people are so ignorant that they kind find any kind of rap at all that they can tolerate.

Obviously you didn't pay attention to the part where I DIDN'T even mention Soulja Boy in that paragraph, or you are too ignorant to actually read my other paragraphs where I say that I like rap. Do me a favor and read those and then continue with you arguement.

I like rap. Alot of rappers take credibility out of the name. There are alot of rappers that actually have a meaning in there songs and are great but they dont even get credit because these rappers that sing about gangs, killing, raping, sex, and drugs are taking over. gangs, killing, and all that has been in the lyrics since Hip Hop first started since the Grandmaster Flash and NWA days. The inner-cities are surrounded by that, so of course they're gonna incorporate that in their lyrics. You're obviously from the suburbs and cant relate

I am a big heavy metal fan and classic rock so I tend not to listen to rap, how ever, I am a big fan of Tupac Shakur and Biggie Smalls, don't know why, I can just listen to their songs.

He doesn't live in the ghetto anymore, he's surrounded by bodyguards at all times, and he doesn't live the "thug life" anymore. A 50 Cent in 2008 is about as thug as Mariah Carey.
