I prefer 'pre-Moe' era myself...how about you guys? Watching anime with too much kawaii sensibilities takes me out of it... I've seen so little shows on both shows, and recognize only a few more. From the Pre-Moe I've seen Wolf's Rain, Cowboy Bebop, & Akira and recognize Ergo Proxy & Hellsing. Whereas for Post-Moe I only seen Gurren Lagann and that's the only one I recognize too. Pre-Moe wins before clearly, especially since Wolf's Rain & Cowboy Bebop are in my top five of all-time. Still, while I prefer that aesthetic, I don't really harbor any issue with Moeness. I wonder what anime this is from... I feel like you already know this but it's bothering me that nobody has said it but that's definitely from Detective Conan/Case Closed. 100%, no question. Amazon recently launch several new add on channels to their Prime video service. Their anime channel, Anime Strike, is ing amazing! It just might be the best anime streaming service out there. There's a seven day free trial then it's $5 a month. But you have to be a Prime member. I heard you can just subscribe to their streaming service without paying $100 a year (so no free shipping) but I haven't looked into it. They have a bunch of shows and movies. I just binged the only season of High School of the Dead then I watched Akira and Tokyo Godfathers. As far as I can tell everything is available in both subs and dubs. Amazon claims they're adding new content every week. I can't confirm this because I haven't had it for a week yet. But I can confirm that I use this more than Funimation Now, which surprised me. EDIT: Everything that has a dub is on there. For some reason Tokyo Godfathers never got an English dub so it's sub only on Strike. So if you see something that doesn't have an English option that's because one was never created. Even as an Amazon Prime subscriber, I haven't signed up for Anime Strike because I'm pretty insulted by Amazon's decision to lock off their anime behind two paywalls. Maybe it's different elsewhere but in America you can *not* get anime strike without dropping the $99 dollars on Prime. So if somebody just wanted to legally watch some of their exclusives, say Scum's Wish or Onihei, they'd have to pay 100+ dollars for just those shows. Some series can be bough separately but none of the exclusives I believe. So I haven't signed up for it because I don't really want to support that. I probably eventually will, especially now that you say that Tokyo Godfathers is on there (wanted to watch that this Christmas but found that Netflix had removed it). As an aside Netflix's binge approach to their anime titles isn't what the anime community wants either. I feel like Crunchyroll & Funimation are the only ones that treat us properly (not surprising, there anime first while Netflix & Amazon aren't).

Dalmito I don't mind the anime channel being an add on pay service. All the new channels are mostly nieche services that not everyone would want. And adding all that content to Prime Video would definitely raise the price. The new channels range from $3-$8. It's really not that expensive, especially if you the monthly fee for Prime Video.

Checked out the collection they had. I'm interested in Clannad and its sequel, but I would burn through that before the free trial was over.

I got turned so far off the whole 'cutesy' anime thing after one episode of Ouran High School Host Club with my girl. It was, something I did not enjoy through the amount of awkwardness. I can't do 'cute' anime anymore. Got into watching the dub of 'All Out!' and so far it's pushing it's way very high up in my rankings.

More often than not to be honest.

Dalmito you can now subscribe to Amazon Prime Video for $8.99 per month. If you can get Amazon Prime Video on its own that basically removes my problem with it. Still a bit too much for what they have, but not by 100 bucks so lol, that's cool. Thanks Dalmito - I actually didn't know about the wrestling anime. Oh, cool! I should note then that I haven't actually seen that scene yet (I think) but I recognized the art style immediately & Case Closed/Detective Conan has 800+ episodes. There's plenty of shows on prime that I have zero interest in seeing that they didn't put through an additional pay-wall, and there's still anime not exclusive to Strike, I'm pretty sure Attack on Trains (Er, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress) and Battery are available on the regular prime service. I get that that's because they were done prior to Strike being a thing but I don't really see any reason to change that model outside of greed. The biggest difference with it being an add-on service and something like say HBO is that there are other avenues to support HBO without Prime. Strike is the only legal way to watch the exclusives series and support them (in the west of course). My biggest issue with it is already resolved with Video being able to be purchased exclusive, I'm more of just defending my stance prior to that knowledge. Waiting for Netflix AUS to get Samurai Champloo like Watched some episodes online, reckon it's brilliant! Expected as much from the chap behind Cowboy Bebop though...why it took me so long to get around to it, I'll never know... I love Samurai Champloo. It's probably my second favorite Watanabe show, the three-part finale might be my favorite ending in all of anime. In the top ten at least.

Huh...Netflix AUS has added Cyborg 009: Call Of Justice to the list...don't know much about it but it's a shonen and has been around for ages... Apparently it's one film split into three then split further into twelve episodes. I can't speak for aby of the newer films/series but I'm a fab of the original Cyborg 009. We got a DVD box set of the first half of the original series. Unfortunately we never got the second half.

I'm not sure if this is the best place to ask this, but I've got a question for the Studio Ghibli fans: Do I need to watch Whisper of the Heart before watching The Cat Returns? I know it's a spin-off of Whisper but I don't know if I need to know that story to fully follow this movie.

So Miyazaki is coming out of retirement. Again. The dude is better off just handing the reigns to someone else for Studio Ghibli and just remaining on the board or whatever they have post-emaratus or something like that. He'll keep making masterpieces till he croaks, which I hope never happens because he's amazing.

Fukka is quickly overshadowing Suzuka as my favorite in that line of series.

Discovered 'Hellsing Ultimate'... Wish I could devote more time to watching it and the others, but slowly does it I guess... How did you not know about that? I mean, your anime taste is all over the place like mine, but damn I would have thought that one would have been on your radar forever ago.

So I bucked up and watched Gantz: 0 last night. I'm not traditionally a fan of live action anime based movies. Plus, Gantz is a favorite of mine and definitely is tops on my list for horror and gore genres. Not only was I pleasantly surprised, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I spent most of the movie wondering why they were so far from canon. But the final scene, after the game was over? Holy ing crap. That one scene made the whole movie make sense. Brilliant work by the writing staff.
