Another one of my favorite LJNs was Ax from Demolition. I always wondered why they made him with the same exact pose as the Jesse Ventura figure. Could it be that LJN used the Ventura mold? Another thing that made zero sense is why did they make Ax without making Smash? Imagine if they had just made Dynamite Kid only without making Davey Boy or vice versa. With the Warlord, I understand the situation why a Barbarian was not made because the company went out of business after the black carded series 6. However, Ax was released as part of series 5. They could have released Smash as part of series 6. The back of the series 6 cards shows they were planning on making Smash, Barbarian, Bushwackers, Bad News Brown, & Brother Love, but the company folded soon after. i dont mind the Ax without Smash, and if they made only Dynamite Kid it wold be fine too as both were very accomplished singles wrestlers. Ax was the Masked Superstar remember. it's not as bad as if they made Butchwhacker Luke, but not Butch. |
