Are people really complaining about surprises these days? You're not on the WWE creative staff, it's not your job to worry where it's going, you're supposed to enjoy it.

why is everyone acting like he's ancient? He's about ten years younger then Finlay. the way Regal wrestles he can go for another ten years at least. Regal is awesome and my favorite wrestler, I couldn't be happier the way last night went.

well regal does deserve it - he has turned his life around and is an inspiration for alot of young talent - that you can still overcome the odds and be a great success even if you are into your mid 30s.
Im sure the WWE has rewarded him for his commitment and determination. Well done william!

I think Regal does deserve a push and he is a Decent wrestler so if they do this properly he can get over

WWE dropped the ball..Becuase this couldve been used to elevate CM Punk..But they decide to let Regal win..The fact is Regal can`t go much further in my opinion..He`s a great talent but hes not main event material..Unless he drastically changes...

I’m not upset we aren’t getting Canvas Matriarch Punk… I had a strong feeling Regal was taking the tournament before the match even started. And why shouldn’t he get the honor? Like JBL and Edge, he’s been a midcarder forever but would make an amazing heel main eventer if given the opportunity. CM Punk is already Mr. MITB, anyway.

Am i the only one who thinks Regal may drop the GM thing now and return to actually wrestling... i don't see why he would bring back the awesome Regal Stretch if he wasn't
I'm pretty sure that a while ago, it was reported that the King Of The Ring tournement was being used as a way to give someone a 'royal' gimmick (like the King Booker fiasco).
Thats why Regal won it, its just going to further his blue-blooded character, i mean, who else were they going to give the royal gimmick to? CM Punk?
Also, its good to see Punk loose something, we don't want another case of Cenatitus

It is weird, I admit, I have no idea where WWE are going with this. Having William Regal main event is pretty much unexpected. I was expecting a good mid-carder to win it..because in my personal opinion, the KOTR is just an event that pushes a newcomer, or a good superstar towards the main event.
William Regal is nothing like that.

Certainly Regal deserves it - but it won't make a bit of difference, 'cos he still won't get over with the ignorant US crowds, no matter what they do with him.. The only reason I thought Punk might win, was as a way to get him over to RAW without using a draft - because he's pretty much irrelevant on ECW now, and needs to switch brands A.S.A.P.. I don't think Regal will be main-eventing - 'cos Vince knows the US fans won't buy it..

I don't mind it at all. It suits his gimmick, actually. Add to that the fact that hes an absolute beast in the ring, and can work a microphone, you got yourself a good KOTR.

I think having Regal wins make sense. Honestly, think about it, shouldn't one of the "top guys" or someone with recognition be GM. This gives him credibility as the GM of raw, being able to have this over the rest of the roster. Without something, he seemed like such a random GM. yeah, he won the battle royal in Buffalo,but thats about it. Now he seems badass enough to preside of the rest of the roster.

Why have Regal win??? Is that a serious question? Regal is the most underrated guy in WWE!!! He's been taking a backseat to a lot of guys that don't deserve anything. He could wrestle circles around 95% of all 3 rosters. He deserves a world title run (and not ECW) before he retires anyway. While I completely agree, seeing as he hasn't been in much of a wrestling role in a while, it was very out of nowhere... I think he should wrestle full time, maybe have an IC feud with Jericho. that would produce some outstanding matches. |
