Yeah, I just read on Wikipedia that they are re-making it. Three guesses who they have signed to play Ren McCormick. Ill give you a hint. Think of a 'pretty boy' who does a lot of high school parts and has links to another big name Broadway movie re-make. Any guesses? Also, I loved the show and original movie, so this has a lot to live up to.

I'm going to guess that little douche bag Zac Efron. I just have a feeling he's going to ruin any and all movies that he will star in.

Footloose was the greatest movie of all-time, with the greatest soundtrack of all time. Any re-make will be an abomination.

Footloose was the greatest movie of all-time, with the greatest soundtrack of all time. Except for Kenny Loggins blatantly stealing a riff from the James Gang's "Funk #49."

I completely played the first one to death...so I got another. ;D

Was never a fan on the original. Only thing I thought was good about it was John Lithgow. But then again, what didnt he kick ass in?

I still watch the DVD from time to time, as I loved the movie & soundtrack as a kid. Footloose really was a huge deal back then. My mother loved that movie, too. And my fondness for Footloose is probably what made me like the movie Hot Rod, just for the punch dancing sequence. Looking back, the whole "small religious town bans dancing and rock music" storyline seems pretty corny, but hey... there were a lot of corny movies and TV shows that did big business in the 80s, so no harm done.

I then later bought the cassette, then the cd.
