Even if Anchorman did suck balls, someone with a Jean Claude Van Dame picture in the sig should not be the one to say anything sucks Haha. I loved the first one, hope the 2nd is just as good.

First one was ok. Some people I know thought it was the greatest movie ever. I never understood why.

Shouldn't they call it Anchorman 3? Or are they just going to disregard the fantastic adventure that is Wake Up, Ron Burgundy!

Awesome news, although I am skeptical that they'll get Steve Carell this time. He's a much bigger star now than he was when he did the original Anchorman. I have a bad feeling that some combination of his current asking price/work schedule will leave us with no Brick in Anchorman 2. I guess they could write him out easily enough by just saying he died in some totally avoidable, freak accident (loving a lamp?). Or in a retaliation for him killing that guy with a trident. Carell will do it; he was in Evan Almighty, and Anchorman was a huge success, so there's no reason for him not to be back. The only thing about his appearance will be that he'll get a billing on-par with Ferrell's instead of beneath him. I'm skeptical about this, though. I could easily see a lot of the humor being forced, trying to create the next big catchphrase, etc.

Not that she wasn't awesome in the first one, but I sort of think they'll need a different love interest this time, a la the Austin Powers trilogy. Or else keep Veronica Corningstone in the sequel, but make her an enemy again for comic value... send her to a competing station and have Burgundy always trying to one-up her or make her jealous. I dunno... I just think if she returns in this movie, it'll get old unless they throw her character a curve.

Paul Rudd was my favorite part of Anchorman. Carell will definitley be back.
Droop made a great point about the pressure of creating another hilarious script with endless catchphrases. I over-use "It's so damn hot, milk was a bad choice" every hot day.
