The Money In The Bank Match...in its four years of existence, three of the four winners, Edge, Rob Van Dam, and now C.M. Punk, went from being shining upper mid-carders to big-name superstars from winning this Wrestlemania match and cashing in their title opportunity.
With Wrestlemania ten months away, we can't help but wonder if we will be seeing another main eventer rise up and win the WWE or World (not counting the ECW title, since it is treated as pretty much a mid-card title) title at around this time next year
Who do you think it will be?

Jeff Hardy. Whoever says Miz really needs a Reality Check...

I would like to see a heel win it next year, such as MVP or Shelton Benjamin.
Although, based on previous missed opportunities, I would say Jeff Hardy is in line for the next MITB winner, granted he isn't fired or injured before then.

Paul Burchill, if he isn't already a main eventer by that point.

I'd love to see MVP or Burchill take it, but it'll probably be Jeff, as long as he can straighten up.

Do people honestly think that Burchill is going to be a main event star?
The guy has been around since '05 and makes inconsistent appearances on RAW, I got a hunch he's not destined for greatness.

Edge was around 8 years before winning the world title. Burchill may be booked inconsistently, but when he is booked... in whatever character they choose to put him in... he's over. He was just in a feud with Kennedy that was cut short, so obviously they wanted to do something with him. He has a Triple H type look, so in that department he's right down Vince's alley. I'm not going to predict whether he'll make it or not, but I think he has a damn good chance. I'm guessing you were one of those predicting Punk wasn't desitined for greatness during his losing streak?

Honestly, he blows, you have yet to realise that.

Edge had a gradual rise to the top, Burchill's has been quite choppy thus far, in another few months he'll disappear and return six months later with a new gimmick to try. Lea is also the mouthpiece of the duo, Edge never needed assistance in that department. Burchill has yet to do anything memorable since he debuted in '05, Edge was apart of the Brood the very year he debuted. I hate to break it to you Ripper, but that's just a really bad analogy, he could be great in the future, but nothing that I've seen has made me believe he is destined for greatness. BTW, I like Punk, I think he's a genuine talent, but I don't like the way they put the belt on him, he was essentially jobbing to everyone prior to being drafted, it kinda makes it hard to take him seriously don't you think?

Paul Burchill and over dont belong in the same sentence. Maybe not in written English, but in reality tis so. He got impressive pops as the pirate and significant heat against Kennedy... WWE wouldn't need to brainstorm too hard to give its fans a reason to boo or cheer the man... just a feud where he is allowed to speak and do what he does best. Honestly, he blows, you have yet to realise that. *Looks at poker hand and throws down the "Well that's your opinion" card* Edge had a gradual rise to the top, Burchill's has been quite choppy thus far, in another few months he'll disappear and return six months later with a new gimmick to try. I wasn't attempting to draw parrallels between Burchill's and Edge's careers... simply arguing there is no expiration date on a wrestler's potential to be world champion. Edge's eight years wasn't a gradual rise to the top either... it was more like a prolonged stay in the midcard before being given an opportunity in the main event. Many thought he'd never make it. There are many different paths to the top... they don't all begin with something significant happening within the first year, or whatever other measuring standard you use to predict whether a talented wrestler is or isn't "destined for greatness." BTW, I like Punk, I think he's a genuine talent, but I don't like the way they put the belt on him, he was essentially jobbing to everyone prior to being drafted, it kinda makes it hard to take him seriously don't you think? Losses mean nothing in sports entertainment, only wins.
