Now you're dreaming. The Mets just swept the Brewers in Milwaukee. I think the Brewers have a better starting pitching lineup, but their bullpen is as bad as ours. The Mets have better bats and thats why they were able to beat the Brewers. Can they beat the Cubs? I dont know. The Cubs are gettng banged up here in the stretch. On top of that, Philly showed they could take a few from Chicago and we can definitely BEAT them. Arizona is pitiful. They have no offense and the Mets would find a way to win against them. I would rather face them than the Dodgers right now. I don't know about that. Granted, Arizona's offense is pitiful but if Webb & Haren pitch like they can and Johnson gets back to his pre-Yankees form for a few games then I think the D-Backs can win a best of 5 series against the Mets. But it won't be a sweep. The Cubs, even with their recent struggles are still the best team in NL I think. I think the Mets would beat the Dodgers in the first round...and possibly the Brewers because they are still relatively young. I think the Mets need to stay healthy and they can pull it out. Every week, it seems a major player in the playoff race is losing a big piece of their puzzle. It might just come down to who can stay healthy. My pick for darkhorse team to make the playoffs.......Colorado.

Carlos Quentin out for the year with a broken wrist That's going to hurt their World Series hopes and his MVP candidacy. I had my money on Pedroia or Morneau for MVP anyway.

They still have to climb out of a hole, but they most likely won't need to win 21 of their last 22 this year.

As a Braves fan, pretty much all I have to root for right now is anything that keeps the Mets out of the playoffs.

Ryan Howard is not the MVP, please. He's batting .236!! I really like Howard too, but that would be disgusting if he won considering Pujols is batting .124 points higher!

Losing Quentin is a big blow to the White Sox. I was counting on him for MVP. Now I'm gonna say either Morneau or Pedroia.

Pedroia, Morneau, Sizemore, Hamilton are the top 4 right now...it's a toss up, probably the last big award that has to be decided...well this and the NL Cy Young I think

The NL Cy Young is up in the air. Really between Lincecum, CC, Webb and Santana at this point. It will be difficult to pick a winner.

I think it's Lincecum, Webb, Sabathia followed by Santana, but I would not be surprised to see Santana finish 3rd because people dont wanna vote for CC, or if Webb continues to crapthe bed.
It really should be Timmy though, he is amazing

I'm confident Lincecum will win it. Webb isn't getting done right now, and isn't Lincecum leading the majors in strikeouts?

It really should be Timmy though, he is amazing “Not sure anyone has noticed this, but he leads the entire sport in quality starts (with 23, one more than Lincecum). He has five blown saves, as many as Lincecum, and five CUS, one fewer than Lincecum. But in overall run support, he and Lincecum are very close. Santana is at 4.87 a game (64th in the big leagues), and Lincecum is at 4.81, right behind him at 68th.” -Jayson Stark I wasn't even aware of that until a few days ago. After your bullpen blows game after game, you seem to think Santana is at fault. He must really hate Aaron Heilman, Duaner Sanchez and Pedro Feliciano.

Shocker.
Ya boy Tatis is probably the NL Comeback player of the year though

What a surprise, you think Santana should win it. Shocker. Ya boy Tatis is probably the NL Comeback player of the year though Yes, that's what I said. I literally came out and said "Santana should be Cy Young." In fact, I used those exact words. I said I was surprised to see those numbers. When you look at Santana's numbers, you aren't overly impressed. He's having a good year, that's being ruined by a terrible pen that's blown chance after chance for him. I personally think Tim Lincecum is this years Cy Young award winner. But I was very surprised to see Santana compared to Lincecum. You really need to calm down and stop searching for fights...or at least learn to read. And I would assume Ryan Ludwick will win the comeback player of the year.
