I always felt that Cole primarily got hate simply because he was basically replacing JR.
He’s good, but I do have some gripes with his style. I think it mainly comes down to the direction he’s given and the partners he’s had. When he has a good partner and is allowed more freedom, he’s at his best. One thing I hate is when they’re showing a replay and he says something like “Now I want you to look at this!”

I’m more surprised he was walking around. I met him back in like 2015. He was at a table with Brutus Beefcake and Tito Santana. We did a group pic and we all literally had to wait like minutes for him to finally get out of his chair and get into the pic.
I remember being at a con in 2017 and Godfather was there. He was smart. He was Godfather the first half of the day. Then, he left and came back as Papa Shango to get people to double up on photos. Anyway, someone in front of me in line was getting him to sign that Warrior & Papa Shango 2 pack. He was telling the guy that he had reached out to Mattel and WWE to ask if they could send him a pack, but he never heard back so he had to hunt it down at Target. He was like “It felt real weird spending money on a figure of myself”

The way I see it is that guys like Jericho, Punk, Bryan, Christian, Big Show are there more short term plans to help AEW get attention. Other ex WWE guys like Miro, Black, FTR, etc are basically people that were talented and valuable and no longer tied to WWE. They’re more long term that will be more in the mix with the AEW “homegrowns” that will be the future of AEW.

I’m a lifelong, die hard WWE fan. Been watching for over 30 years. I catch RAW, Smackdown, NXT, and PPVs. But they almost seem to not even be trying anymore. I still watch the shows, but it’s a chore, and I have zero interest. I’m basically just watching because it’s become so routine for me. The product is overly sanitized and they play it safe way too often. And when I say play it too safe, I’m not saying they need to be more violent and do physically crazy stuff. They don’t take risks with ideas. Everything is very formulaic, they keep relying on the same guys, and everything is very cookie cutter.
Right now, AEW is far more exciting. The production value is always moving closer to WWE level, and it just feels like pro wrestling. I have my gripes with it, but it’s far more interesting than WWE right now.

Supposedly Keith Lee’s music changed from NXT to Main Roster because the artist started making crazy demands to use it A lot of people lost their themes because WWE parted ways with CFO$...Lee, Sasha, Bayley, Alexa and quite a few others. What’s weird about that is you would think WWE had a deal with them where WWE owned the publishing on any music they created for WWE. Like how Jim Johnston doesn’t own the themes he created

Not in my town exactly, but there’s plenty celebrities that live or have lived within 30 minutes of me.
A while back, my brother and I went to the movies to see Civil War. As we were walking out of the theater, Sam Roberts and his wife were walking in.

Only a matter of time before the ‘me too’ movement came to WWE. First of many Legends deals to go I’d imagine! It already came multiple times over the last few years While I’m not defending Flair, the reality is Flair and Hogan are on a level where their “removals” are mostly performance. WWE is washing him away right now, but when this is out of the news cycle and Ric needs money, WWE will welcome him right back

The one thing though, is Dark Side of the Ring does generally have a bit of a hit piece element to it. If there isn’t some sort of controversy involved, the show has no appeal. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an episode where there hasn’t been at least one person having a wild take on the topic. For this episode, Tommy “played the heel”. I almost wonder if Tommy said what he said because he believed it or because he thought it would get him some attention I've never felt like Dark Side is a real hit piece. Maybe because most of the info I've seen I knew already (admittedly I only watched maybe half the first two seasons) but they seem like straight documentary. I know a lot of people on another board were pretty disappointed the Plane Ride episode was the opener as they thought there was not left they didn't already. That episode has seen more posts than any other episode on the Dark Side thread. I haven't watched it yet but will try to do so tomorrow. I am learning new things on various posts from people who have watched it and all these years I thought it was Hennig who took down Brock because he bragged about it so many times when doing in ring promos the last few months of his life. If Dark Side was a hit piece I would have liked more said about how Hawk screwed people with most being Animal or promotions. I personally got screwed by him when I signed up and paid for a Road Warriors fan club membership and I'm sure Hawk was no where to be found at the time so the supposed signed 8x10 they advertised was an 8x10 signed only "Road Warriors" in Animal's hand writing. I am an Animal fan, he was a great guy and I'm sure he felt sending a photo like that was good enough (coming from him, it was) but it would have been silly sending one just signed by him but again, I'm sure Hawk took off as he had a habit of doing so and left the fan club members high and dry. To me the Dark Side shows are documentaries and I personally think the producers, especially after this Plane Ride episode need some sort of prize, award or medal. They have the guts to go after the old boys network and show how crappy some of these guys really are/were. Hit piece is maybe weak phrasing on my part. I’m trying to say like they seem to lean into controversial stuff. Like, I’m sure the producers know exactly what to expect when they are choosing who to interview. I haven’t watched the show in a bit, but it’s pretty interesting even though a lot of it isn’t really new information.

Tommy fancies himself the defender of the legends. He did what he thought was right saying Howard Finkel hadn't had a stroke, that it was an issue with his brain. He tweeted Terry Funk didn't have dementia despite Terry's management stating he did not long after. He thinks he is the white knight of the downtrodden legends and this time he did what he thought was right. It was wrong, very wrong and he is going to pay for it. Ric should be getting much worse than Tommy and a loss of a Car Shield deal is a small bit right now. I'm sure that sponsor money eats away at his drinking and partying money. I feel bad for his current wife. I'm sure when she married him she figured everything with Ric's actions were in the past and maybe they are, but he does deserve to pay for what he did. He needs to be the Ric we saw being there to support Steve McMichael and NOT the Ric that is starting to come out, the one from the Plane Ride... Not defending either of them, but I think the reason Tommy is getting the worse backlash is because this isn’t exactly a new story. I remember someone telling the story years ago, although they said Flair came out of the bathroom with just his robe and was opening it and yelling Wooo. Both Ric and Tommy are wrong, but I think with Ric, the story isn’t shocking. With Tommy, it’s like “How are you even saying this with a straight face?” The one thing though, is Dark Side of the Ring does generally have a bit of a hit piece element to it. If there isn’t some sort of controversy involved, the show has no appeal. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an episode where there hasn’t been at least one person having a wild take on the topic. Yes. And the only aew ones that aren't classified as such are the ones who have contracts that include other roles beyond just wrestling. That's what I thought. So why is he (Andrew Yang) just calling out WWE? If we’re talking about how it comes off to the general public, you say you’re going after WWE people say “Oh wow!”, you say you’re going after AEW and most people say “What’s AEW?” There’s a bit of marketing involved. Also, not to start anything, but consider Vince’s political leanings compared to Yang’s. Personally, I do feel independent contractor status in WWE is suspect, when people aren’t allowed to do anything outside. Having said that, people sign contracts acknowledging they are independent contractors. The law can still supersede that, but it’s never really gained traction because there typically hasn’t been enough support among “the boys.” Historically, when wrestlers even bring up unionization, they are ostracized and possibly blackballed in the industry. That often causes wrestlers to just keep their mouths shut so they can continue to work and get booked. It’s hard to make real progress when there isn’t enough support among the people being impacted.

Get some opinions. Had a Punk beater head and had to literally strip it down to nothing but eyeballs...Ive never painted a beard before, Does this look somewhat like his "scruff" and not just paint marks? A little too dark for his current look, but amazing as far as a beard in general.

The last time I went to GameStop they barely had anything interesting. I kept browsing and saw some Marvel Legends on sale that I was kind of interested in. Like I wouldn’t have bought them at full price, but on clearance, sure. I went to grab a couple of the figures only to realize there was a lock at the end of the peg. I was supposed to ask an employee to unlock the peg and get me the figures. There was only one person working, and he was at the register with a line. I just figured it wasn’t worth the hassle and I walked out empty handed.

Mine usually falls closest to Easter. I have a really big extended family that celebrates holidays with us, so we usually celebrate birthdays in batches on holidays. My birthday is generally celebrated along with 3 of my cousins on Easter.

Don’t know what’s better, but a about a month ago, I was driving to the gym and someone drove by me with a big Orange decal on the side of his car that said “P**** Hunter” (Not Censored). I mainly noticed him because I was stopped at a light, and I saw a lady turning left at an intersection. He came flying up in the right lane, cut her off, and turned left from the right lane into the oncoming lane. Needless to say, the decal wasn’t surprising at that point.

I think they’re worth it. Great articulation. Sculpts and paint are pretty good. Good accessories. I just order them through Ringside, so I haven’t experienced any distribution issues.
I’d like some more consistency in the joints. Some are really tight, some are really loose, some are just right. You can really say that about any line.
I’d really like to see them including more fist hands. This is a wrestling line. People do punch each other.

Kind of got me thinking about that time he was wrestling Curtis Axel and started like overheating and had to take a count out loss. I remember that was unplanned and had to due with some type of legit scare. Also kind of strange that just like last week, Triple H was talking about one final match. Kinda sounds like this was a procedure that was precautionary to some degree. Glad he’s doing ok though

Tough one. I don’t wanna count all the influx of new people, so not in any order I’ll go with
- Hangman - Darby - Jungle Boy - Omega - Britt Baker
Also, maybe a hot take, but I think MJF is overrated and tries too hard to seem controversial and edgy. He comes off like a total mark fir himself

I wasn’t super familiar with a lot of her work. I’m not super well versed in late WCW, so I know she was there, but haven’t seen any of her stuff from that time really. I became more familiar back when I was watching TNA kind of casually. She definitely stood out, and I thought she was really talented and believable. I even bought her action figure when Jakks made it.
The whole story is very sad, from how loved she was, to the circumstances of her death, to how rapidly the story unfolded.
