I think Eddie looks great. You can definitely see they’re going to a more realistic style than Hasbro cartoon style. Some great figures coming!

Yeah, looking forward to Bagwell, DDP and Eddie from TAFKAC. I was thinking more of putting Patriot with 97 WWF though. I feel like having a Stars and Stripes variant of Marcus Bagwell to go with the Patriot is a missed opportunity considering the two were revealed together. That is a great idea!! Might happen!!

Have just seen the Rougeaus up, not a fan of the bent arm he uses, if it doesn’t have an action, why use this arm?? Otherwise I think they’ll look great in with Hasbro/retro collections! The one with articulation in the elbow? yeah, i don’t see a point to using those if they don’t have an action like mattel and retros do

Like a lot of other guys, I think that this line could do with some more body types - the most obviously needed being a thicker-set, Hasbro Duggan style that could work for a fair few guys from that era. But to say Mattel aren’t adding new molds isn’t really accurate - we’ve had Mean Gene, R&B Greg, Tugboat/ Vader, Jerry Lawler, Hogan and the ladies in recent sets. They are slowly introducing new parts as the sets roll out. And I’m starting to feel that Mattel are kind of damned if they do, damned if they don’t…. They try giving new action features/molds, like the Cena and the Sami Zayn kick, and are met with: “I hate that body” “Those arms are too tiny” “It doesn’t stand up” They give announcers/ managers and ladies, and are met with: “I don’t want them as they weren’t done by Hasbro!” They try broadening the line with wrestlers from pre- & post-Hasbro era and are met with: “That’s not my era” Personally, I give them props for trying some new things with the action moves - and I’d be interested in seeing more. However, that is obviously not to say that there aren’t some design and/ or practical issues - some of the kickers being a bit twitchy and difficult to stay standing up is an issue. The main frustration for me is some of the design choices: The Angle/Lex body is NOT suitable for Anvil. Personally, I don’t mind the body type; although I appreciate that it looks a little disjointed (not too dissimilar to how the jumpers do). And it definitely isn’t suitable for everyone. But where am I going in this ramble….ultimately, I suppose we have to stop using a hard comparison to the hasbros. These are not hasbros. They are retros. Inspired by hasbros. A nod to hasbros. But not hasbros. From the very first series the proportions have stood out as them being pretty distinct from hasbros. It’s probably about time, after all these years, that we accept that these are not hasbros and start to enjoy them for being their own thing. Retros. And if you don’t like retros, that’s fine! But maybe it’s worth moving along instead of fueling your own continued frustration. very well said 👍🏻

This, all day. If they could up the price, then maybe they could create unique molds for each wrestler like the early Hasbro's did. Since most of the retro collectors are older, I don't think they would mind a bit of a cost increase if the quality were much better. I think if Mattel went this route, they could execute their figures on the same par as some of Hasttels and Zombie's best figure but also include "actions" that the smaller companies can't. Plus, they would have a larger roster to choose from.
I 100% agree with this. I would rather pay more, and have better quality. I wish Action Figure Attack would respond to that request, though I assume it's going to be a no. won’t happen, the line stays as long as the production costs are kept low.. we all know this.. mattel are pumping their money into ultimates and now the coliseum line, that’s where they are getting a better return

They all look great, my only criticism is I think Heenan looks a bit too young in the face

I really hope quality of sculpts get better on these. They look like happy meal toys compared to zombie sailor and epic toys’ retros. zombie and epic don’t look like hasbros did. The aim of these is to be Hasbroesque at a price point. If you want better sculpts and likeness, buy elites.

Considering that “no one wants Wendi Richter” (according to many on this board, at least), it seems strange that they’re up for £40 odd on the bay etc. I was hoping to pick up some extras for customs at £15 or so. Kind of strange fir a fig no one wants to be that expensive, right? Wendi and Chyna were great pics for first women retros in my opinion! I ordered an extra Chyna and will be trying to get extra Wendi’s for customs. I got my retro’s the other day, for me Wendi and Studd were the standouts, I thought Hogan was better in the photos than in hand.

I am a Grapplers and Gimmicks fan, I can look past all the faults… but Bob Cardona… come on… get him before he sells out guys 🙄 Unless I heard it wrong, Matt Cardona got this for his dad for a Christmas present. It’s not something I’m interested in getting but it’s cool for their family I guess hopefully he bought 400 of them then.

Anyone hear any update on when the Road Warriors or Power & Glory will go up for preorder? Thanks No, nothing yet. Though, P&G should be sometime soon, they are supposed to be in Series 3. I don't think he has shown anything on the Road Warriors/Legion of Doom since he should the sculpts a while ago. Power & Glory were at least shown as finished products with soft goods shirts recently. wow, looking at Zombie’s website and list of who he has signed vs who has been released/ renders of / production samples/ in stock, Is it fair to say that it will be years before some of these are in people’s collections?

Yeah, my thoughts too, though I think Aldo should have a slimmer build. He also announced Sparky Plugg and I think that looks good too, also looks like a Hasbro at least from the render. Can't wait to see what Mitch's Aldo looks like. I'm sure Mitch will have his out 2 years before Zombie though, but hope he gets a handle on the quality issues. is this just the jj body and legs?
