For those of you who don’t know, Steve was making his rounds promoting the WCW Nitro crowdfund yesterday and he did a podcast with Nick Storm and they had a decent little Q&A. I know not everyone has the time to watch, so I just thought I’d pass along some of the info from that podcast that I thought was interesting. • Billy Gunn IS still available for Mattel to make figures. • The Walmart exclusive Monday Night Wars line will have 4 elite sets a year - 2 Ultimate sets a year. The attires for this line will be strictly from Raw and Nitro events. This is why the Eddie Guerrero in the second Ultimate wave isn’t directly from Halloween Havoc. • On the topic of the upcoming RA Ultimate RVD one night stand attire - Steve pushed really hard for this attire (not everyone at Mattel was on board with this - obviously some had differing opinions). Hopefully more Ultimate RVD’s will come in the future. • Mattel Creations Cody and Logan Paul are still releasing sometime this summer, they’re finalized - no delays, but Steve said he doesn’t know the exact date these will start trickling out. • On the topic of more Ultimate Edition Cody’s and the soft goods jacket - Steve said ultimately it would be up to the design team to decide on cloth or the plastic style jacket with the swappable arms we’ve seen on previous UE figures. • He would love to get figures out for Snoop Dog, Bad Bunny and any other cross over talent that becomes available. • The tag team Ultimate set is exclusive to Ringside and they’re currently good for ONE set per year. • On the topic of torso swapping ability like the Jazwares figures - Steve said it was on his own personal radar. He said this would be a big tooling investment. It all comes down to where they decide to spend their budget. If the opportunity ever arises where they can pull the trigger on it, he’d be all over it. • Pinless legs would be the standard going forward in 2024. • Regarding the Walmart online cancellations - Steve said he was aware of some of the issues causing this, but he’s very hopeful these things are getting fixed in the very near future where we won’t be seeing our orders cancelled as well as better availability inside the stores. He said things could always go wrong, but he is still very hopeful. • The Ultimate Uso Ringside exclusive set is finalized, so no changes to Jimmy’s head can be made. However future Jimmy heads would have hair more to our liking. Swap those heads. • Steve acknowledged the Ultimate RA Eddie is JACKED. He said he has seen all the comments. He’s passed along our feedback as well as his own feedback. Sometimes things are out of his control. They will see what they can do better next time. Same thing goes for the skin tone. Steve is well aware of this, but again there’s a lot of factors that in play into everything. Licensor, sometimes talent approval/requests. In some cases it’s possible that talent would want a certain torso and they want to be presented a certain way. • There WILL be a SDCC exclusive this year. Steve if you’re reading this, thank you for doing the things you do. I know you’re on your own personal time when you do things like this. I appreciate you and your efforts. Thanks for taking the time to provide this information!

Really grateful for the opportunity to get this incredible WCW entrance that people went nuts over a few years ago. Grateful after all of these years we finally have the opportunity to get Scott Steiner. Grateful Mattel moved Scott Steiner up to the first tier when many said it was IMPOSSIBLE or CAN'T. 3 day window left and I am sad this is slipping away and not sure what it will do to the future. Can you say opportunity to get Jeff Jarrett and Jay Strongbow - no more. I really really really want it but If it doesn't work - it doesn't work. Good luck to those who want it - I ordered 3. This is a perfect example of the type of attitude one should have with this crowdfund. Positive! This guy ordered THREE, and yet he's not out here bashing those who didn't, he's not out here begging others to back it, or making threads breaking down why people should back it. Did his part, backed 3, and hoped/hoping for the best! Fauser, you are the warden in the insane asylum!

Based on no longer under Legends Deal. Those currently under deal still have the opportunity of being released.
- Attitude Era Dudley Boyz - WCW Jericho(s) 100% missed opportunity - 1995-1998 Commentators (Vince and JR *Lawler is being made) - Dean Malenko - L.O.D. 2000 (assuming they are no longer under a Legends deal, it's been years though) - Team X-treme 2 Pack Hardy Boyz (maybe 3 pack with Lita)

This line is specifically for the Monday Night Wars so only Raw and Nitro looks. Just listened to the Pod and yea, to your point, Ozer mentioned Eddie in particular not being the Halloween Havoc attire but rather a Nitro attire close to it. Makes sense though. It is called Monday Night Wars after all.

A solid 2 cents! Everything you mentioned was on point. Especially with the Outsiders (Hall and Nash) being at tier 1. Those are the most essential individuals to the Monday Night Wars. That to me would have been a no brainer. Especially since there is already a nWo UE Hogan to be paired with. As much a Warrior fan as I am, Warrior's time in WCW was just too brief to add him to this (great figure nonetheless). Steiner and DDP are great choices but I would have swapped Rey with Eddie Guerrero w/ LWO shirt. That being said, No one knows what goes on behind closed doors over at Mattel and the reasons why they picked the talent they picked. I think Mattel/Steve should have a Poll to have somewhat of an idea of what talent to add to these things. Similar to the WWE/Amazon polls. But yea, UE Outsiders was a missed opportunity. While I don't disagree with anything he's said, this isn't necessarily a Monday Night Wars set. This is a WCW Nitro set and the figures given do cover most of the Nitro run (Hogan - 1995, Rey - 1996, DDP - 1997, Steiner and Warrior - 1998). If they put Steiner in one of his shorts attires, that could have been a 1999 look. But no matter who the five figures are, people would find a way to complain about it. I could definitely see people complaining if they put DDP in jeans behind a $400 paywall. Personally I like the Warrior figure, it was his debut look on Nitro, so it does fit in this group. I would have been fine with the Outsiders in Tier 1 with the stage, Steiner at tier 2 (with airbrushed designs on the white singlet like AFA said was coming), Warrior at tier 3 (same attire as what has been shown), and DDP (in jeans or how they have him now) at tier 4. While I do agree with some in the line up not being from that era, Mattel is promoting it as a Monday Night Wars era set. Here's the description as written on the Mattel Creations website. Even says the packaging will be Monday Night Wars themed. Here's Monday Night Wars reference in bold " Relive the Monday Night Wars of the 1990s with this epic crowdfund! This collector scale entrance stage features a modular stage platform with authentic weathering deco for added realism. It also has special lighting effects, textured WCW entrance logos, and two premium fabric WCW Monday Nitro banners. Here's my issues with this crowdfund,I backed last year's without hesitation (and I didn't grow up in the newgen era), I did however grow up during the Monday night wars so SHOULD be all over this: 1) Price, £509 / $633 is just too high for a stage. We Brits really do get scr*wed on pricing here. 2) LEDs - with 100 of these, how easy will these be to replace / what will be the longevity of this set? The newgen stage was much simpler and still had limited issues with the LEDs. I can see the nitro stage being a big issue unless QC is ramped up a notch. 3) Features - I realise the licensing issues, but c'mon the music was KEY in this era, this playset needed some entrance tunes at this pricetag. Remember titantron live / TTL? We're nigh-on 30 years on, we should be able to blow that out of the water at this point. 4) The figure selection is poor. Adding Steiner to the base offering, whilst a move in the right direction, is still too little too late IMO: - The Rey is boring - elite 100 is far more interesting. - DDP, as everyone has said, shouldve been jeans / bandaged. Putting in jeans warrior adds insult to injury. - Steiner is great, shame no "S" logo and wrong boots, but otherwise solid. - Warrior has his fans but is unnecessary imo, the least toyetic attire of one of the most toyetic wrestlers. - And the Hogan is just a minor variation on the Amazon Takeover one. Reminds me of Smithers in the Simpsons on the new malibu Stacey - but she's got a new hat! Lol Would love to justify the cost but just can't. Hopefully next time they strike a better balance. I think personally, for me to back it, I'd've needed: Tier 1 - stage with UE Outsiders Tier 2 - Jeans DDP (and I'd've backed here if it reached this tier) Any further tiers a bonus at that point, maybe keep in Steiner at 3. My 2 cents A solid 2 cents! Everything you mentioned was on point. Especially with the Outsiders (Hall and Nash) being at tier 1. Those are the most essential individuals to the Monday Night Wars. BINGO! "Why should someone buy something they don’t and then have to go through the headache of trying to sell it to get their money back?" ....To help in its success! Just because someone wish/hope it reaches its goals doesn’t mean they need to support. It means they hope enough people who do want it back it. That’s exactly my point! “Wish/hope” is different than “want” Read back a few and you’ll see that what you just said is exactly what I have been saying this whole time

Pj, you’re echoing what Hulk just said. Wanting something to succeed means doing your part to ensure that it does. Assuming money isn’t the issue, then back it and then sell it after. That will be your contribution to its success. As two of you already expressed interest in its succession. I don’t know if any of you are parents but if you want your child to succeed, are you going to contribute and do your part so that your child does? Or are you going to sit back, cross your fingers and only say the words “I want you to succeed” without any contribution? By no means am I telling anyone to back it or not to. But saying “want it to succeed” holds a lot of weight. Again you can want something to succeed without wanting it for yourself. As for the Nitro stage I did back it. Last year when they revealed the New Generation I said a WCW set would be the only one I would ever back. Wishing and hoping it succeeds for those who want it doesn’t mean you buying something you don’t want to make it happen. It means you hope it reaches the numbers needed to succeed when all those who do want it purchase it. Why should someone buy something they don’t and then have to go through the headache of trying to sell it to get their money back? BINGO! "Why should someone buy something they don’t and then have to go through the headache of trying to sell it to get their money back?" ....To help in its success!

Dude, my post was not about you. There are plenty of other people saying the same thing. So no need to assure me that you can afford it. But to my point, you are not interested in it, as I also stated above. Weird that out of all possible reasons I listed you singled out “can't afford it” But since you did assume and reply,…. To say that you’re not backing it but yet you want it to succeed is contradicting and makes your point invalid. That doesn’t hold. I didn’t want or back the New Generation set. But I did want it to succeed for those who did. And there’s been plenty of figures on people’s wish lists I personally would never add to my collection…but I do want them made for those who do want them. Pj, you’re echoing what Hulk just said. If I want something to succeed I'll do my part. Now if he said, "I hope it succeeds for those who want it" that would be different. Maybe it's how he worded it. But as is, agree to disagree

Why do people continue to compare this to the New Gen crowdfund? And how it had this many backers at this point, then it surpassed goal, then it had this many more at the end.... They key thing to keep in mind is that it was half the price! And it had both an entrance stage AND a ring! It was also more affordable to some, or even most. I completely understand both sides. Trust me, I love this thing and at the moment, I'm on the fence. But the Backers, jeez, I understand you guys want this bad, understandably so. But chill with the bashing of those who either don't care for it or simply can't afford it. And it seems that a big reason the overseas collectors aren't backing is because of shipping costs and fees. You can't be mad or blame anyone for the reasons stated. Just my 2 cents I’m the only one I see bringing up how the New Gen Arena went and I’m doing so in response to the people who keep saying this is hopeless. The previous crowdfund campaign followed the same trend as this one and funded on the last day. I’m tired of the constant “This project is dead” talk because I had to listen to the same thing last time and it funded. So to say the same thing about this one is premature based on history. That was my entire point And for the record, I’m not backing this because I can’t afford it. I’m merely trying to counter the negativity of people constantly saying it’s a bust when it’s not over yet. Because I want this thing to succeed, even though I’m not backing it. And I’m not criticizing people who choose not to or are unable to back. BECAUSE I AM ONE OF THEM. Dude, my post was not about you. There are plenty of other people saying the same thing. Hey Steve! Two questions: 1. Is Dean Malenko still under a legends deal? We’ve only had 1 figure of him and would look amazing with updated FX and updated arms. Possibly in the Greatest Hits line? 2. Have you guys ever considered/are considering making a 1999 ref Shawn Michaels? Soft goods shirt? Thanks in advance!

#1 re-release for me would be Elite 37 Dean Malenko! I would love to have him updated with Real FX and new elbow articulation.
Others worth mentioning: - Elite 46 Harlem Heat - Legends 3 Brian Pillman - Legends 3 British Bulldog - Defining Moments Undertakers, both "bat wing" and Ministry - Elite 16 Nash - Elite 16 Diesel - Elite 22 nWo Giant - Elite Wrestlemania 12 HBK (with updated plastic/rubber entrance gear) - Elite Flashback Syxx (updated with a goatee instead of full beard)
Honorable mention would be IYH DX HBK but thinking realistically I doubt they would re-release any Ringside exclusives to a regular line.
