I think it’s changed recently because of Brexit, so I’m not completely sure what the current situation is... Before that though, if your stuff was delivered through Royal Mail anyway, you had to pay a 20% customs fee on any order over £15 (and I think that includes postage). So if you ordered a figure that came to £30 with postage, you get an additional £6 charge, PLUS, THE KICKER, Royal Mail also added an £8 ‘handling charge’. So a £30 order becomes £44. It’s kinda disappointing because like 10 years ago when the £ was strong, shipping costs were reasonable and you had to buy a car before you got a customs charge, you could order from the States for a pittance. Anyway, they don’t deliver the item, they post a little red slip saying you owe x, go online and pay it or you can kiss your figs goodbye. You go online and pay it then they bring it the next day I still have no idea how they justify the "handling charge". You literally have already paid them to ship and handle the package. It's daylight robbery. Aye... I mean I understand that they probably have to do some extra admin stuff at their end (obtaining and transferring the customs money to the relevant people) that they don't have to do on internal packages, but charging £8 for it is criminal

In the UK we get shafted by shipping and customs prices, so figures have to go really low on Ringside for me to entertain the idea. That said, this is one of few times I really regret not pulling the trigger when they were about $24 I'm still really confused as to how customs work for stuff to the UK. Does the government just send you a bill? Or is it added to the cost of the figure? I'm curious because I have never once been asked to pay customs on my DW figures... It’s been a while lads
I have so many figures to catch up on at Smyths, but the shelves are so brimming at the minute that It’s hard to do my usual check the paint routine
On Saturday I picked up the Chase Toni Storm from Smyths
Then I went to Toymaster, who had a couple of surprises. They had some of Elite 85 (Kross, Liv and Bray), I assume they got the whole set but the rest had been pillaged. Worth keeping your eyes peeled there if you have one local as it might be the best bet to get Becky and Liv. They also had Basic 120, I almost bought bald Shawn but he had some bad paint, so I just got Scarlett
... and yesterday I got the AEW ring with Cody from Smyths since it’s down to £25. This ring is great, reminds me a bit of the Jakks Hardcore ring I played with growing up. It’s not loads bigger than the Mattel one but it’s just big enough to make a difference

I also noticed that on the pictures Ringside posted of Dijakovic last night, he appears have the same problem

Yeah I’ve definitely had a few of these. Elites hide it well I guess but I had to sell on my Jeff Hardy from that Wrestlemania 2 pack with Edge because he just looked outrageous

Got my Tegan nox from Smyths and when I opened it one of her leg joints was broken😤 if I move her leg it’s gonna fall off🙄 Some of these ladies Basics have been an abomination. I got Rhea incase we don’t get the Elite and she stands like Quasimodo. Seems to be the legs in particular that are bad

Word up
Has anyone put the new Basic Nikki Cross head on the Elite? Does it work? Are the skin tones a perfect match?

Would be interesting if they double dip on Rock and Cena before getting to Undertaker and plenty of others

Not well up on stuff like this but I noticed last night that the latest Rock Elite (the Smackdown Fox debut) is noticeably shorter than his other figures

There’s also a Wrestlemania 36 Basic ring with a Cena figure, and what looks like a new repaint of Funhouse Bray listed on Smyths too

Hey Brother Feeder are one of my all time favourites too. They were pretty big for a while on the strength of Echo Park through to Pushing the Senses, but I think Silent Cry kinda went under the radar because of some issues with their label and then they settled into having more of a cult following, and I don’t think they’ve really had a whole lot of mainstream success since I wasn’t a big fan of All Bright Electric though personally and that kinda put a dampener on them for me Interesting. Silent Cry and Renegades kinda missed the mark for me. But they rebounded nicely with Generation Freakshow. I actually liked All Bright Electric. Tallulah was meh. Did you hear any of the new songs they released with their second best of? I think Landslide is the best song they have done in the post-Jon Lee era. Going back to Silent Cry... I think that album was mainly inspired so to speak by Grant's desire to distance himself from Pushing The Senses. From what I have gathered from his interviews, the Coldplay comparisons really bothered him (PTS was produced by the same guy who did Coldplay's first three albums). It's a real shame because PTS was a phenomenal album. Frequency is a masterpiece. I love you. First listen to Silent Cry, I hated it so much I didn’t listen to Feeder again for like 4 years. Now it’s my favourite one I’m not a fan of Renegades but I do love Generation Freakshow I think All Bright Electric was cursed for me from the start because I saw them live about 2 weeks before the album came out and they played about 5 songs from it (including their opening song) that I’d never heard before and it just didn’t sit well with my ears I never got that second Best Of, it’s on my to do list though!

It hasn’t been released yet and will be a Walmart exclusive Ah heck, it’s actually already out over here in the UK, I didn’t realise it wasn’t out at your end yet

Hey gang
Has anyone got the Undertaker Wreckin’ Slamcycle set?
Was just wanting to know how sturdy it is? Sometimes the gimmicked/breakable Mattel stuff can be pretty flimsy. I know that was a big complaint with that latest Raw entrance stage

I went for a shop style slatwall as I like to sometimes display my boxed collection on the shop hooks or loose like this on clear stands. I hid the slatwall with these printed boards to make it look nicer. [/a][/quote] I liked this, then I liked it, just so I could like it again Goddamn that just looks so tidy and effective

I feel like the persecution of Basics in terms of deco over the past few years has got pretty nauseating. However, as everyone is pretty much saying, the biggest issue is these figures just aren’t functional
They got rid of the bicep and ankle joints which to be honest, doesn’t bother me. In fact, I welcome the ankle joints going because at least now you don’t get floppy feet that topple over
Despite that, things started to go horribly wrong when they got rid of the articulation. I feel like they changed the plastic they use on the arms for something cheaper and now if the arms rub against the torso at all it rips them to shreds. Knee joints are constantly frozen in place, and I’ve had many figures with one leg longer than the other that can’t physically stand. I got that Andrade figure from the Battlepack about a year ago and wow, from a quality standpoint it was probably the most rotten figure I’ve ever handled
It’s such a shame because there was a time I really liked Basics and would buy a decent amount. Now... and here’s the biggest kicker, I wanna say that Basics are for kids (and they are), but I can’t even imagine playing with them. I grew up playing with Bone Crunchers and TTL’s and even though we weren’t swimming in articulation, at least there was a bit of give to them so you could actually do stuff

I’ve been mostly out of work this year because of covid so I’ve had to be super selective figurewise, but I just went to Smyths for opening time and got myself Kyle O’Reilly and Pentagon
Shelves were absolutely stacked. I’ve lost track of what’s new and what’s not, but they did have the Championship Showdown 2 packs and the Viking Raiders

Howdy, I'm a casual DC fan. I love the Arrowverse shows and the films mostly. My knowledge of anything beyond that (comics, video games ect) is pretty much nothing I was just seeing what Arrowverse or movie figures have been done by Spinmaster or McFarlane so far? I have the McFarlane Green Arrow, and the Spinmaster Batwoman (not even sure if that one's technically the TV show) Like PJ said, McFarlane has only done the one figure, but Mattel did several Arrowverse figures. Maybe you're already aware of that, though. Aye thanks for that. I have seen those, I’ve actually got most of the DC Collectibles ones too, I’d have just replaced them over time with McFarlane ones if there was any guarantees they’d make the same depth of characters. Just remembered McFarlane did the Wonder Woman 1984 figures too
