I don't know what y'all are talking about. She has that drive. She wields the power well. That hunger constantly drives her to devour the competition. She puts in the work, so many hours, to take what's hers.

The person's no good, they got a good paycheck so they shouldn't complain, they were sitting in catering anyway. Where have I heard this before? When your job is to play fight for a living and you're getting paid 6 figures to do it, enjoy what you've got. If you're not enjoying it, ride out the contract and collect every dollar. This is a once in lifetime opportunity for a scrub like Page. Cash the ticket and then get out. Besides, Tony lets these guys take independent bookings. If Page wants to go wrestle in a gym in front of 50 people he was more than welcome. AEW's got a roster full of talent I'd much rather see before him anyways. I'm just saying, a knee-jerk reaction to anyone leaving a company is justifying the termination and putting all the onus on the talent, it's very reminiscent.

Sami definitely miscast as the underdog for the umpteenth time, for a title he's won before. And why are we showing heels being cheered? First match of the night with actual heat too, not just for the commentators. It only lasted the last three minutes of the match when fka WALTER was antagonizing the crowd but it was something.
We get to... LMAO. Haven't seen such blatant WWE revisionism since the actual, 100% grassroots YES Movement.
Like how can the Shield be invoked as a reason Reigns is miffed? You don't give legitimacy to the heel. Why bring up the leukemia thing again? Why run thru the accolades of Rock and Roman? Why is WWE commentary so reticent against setting firm babyface/heel lines? So little focus is on the next "face of the company", it's ludicrous.
Nice bit of deflection and distraction to start Night 2. Major spamfest title match, wonder if it was an inside dig. Punk pretty dry on commentary. Might it have been better for Drew to self-own rather than Punk actually beating him down. Played too much into the dumb.
Women have stolen the show the past few years, but they didn't reach those lofty expectations. Still pretty good matches but again, lacking heat. Lynch-Ripley was missing loads of trash talk. People were solidly behind Bayley but not due to the story.
A ball of loose yarn, not a coherent story to be found. Similar build of Danny's build at the end of GOT. Are D&D part of creative now? Literally no motivation to hate Dat Dude. No added pressure on Rhodes, despite his "last chance". What is the point? Straight redux of 39, no new wrinkles or complexities. "Focus on the man" line would've been integral if utilized at all over the past year, as a certain wise guy has said here. Feels a bit too even, same as last year. Lots of double downs.
Even when Michael Cole attempts to tow the babyface line, he is outnumbered at the booth. Plus his skills don't exactly idle at "above average" levels. Commentary certainly has noticeably better direction throughout. Completely bearable, and that's saying something for Pat Mac.
Really getting WM 31 vibes late into this, both with the forced narrative and random run-ins. The Shield edging lmfao. Also at thee commentators just standing around afterwards.
Overall, it's no lower than seventh all time personally. Strong card, nearly didn't have much a miss. I will say, I don't watch the weekly product, haven't for a few years, going back to the old regime. There's something in WWE's presentation that makes it feel hollow and processed. Fast food, confectionary sugar, just an artificial product. Fails to make me connect with any particular competitor, so I don't feel anything while watching.

We need a full circle moment. Big Keesh revealed as next player in the Bloodline, wrecking sh*t as revenge for being Trips' fall guy.

Rumored that Ethan Page asked for his release because he would like to wrestle. Just imagine the Impact karate kid gimmick not being the low point of his career.

On one hand, it could be cool. Possibly more value for consumers, their dollar could go further in perceived value. Lotsa paths that would seemingly be too risky or costly for their 7" line.
On the other, it puts Jazwares on another branch people will constantly be trying to bring down. Demand would have to be a concern. Would AEW products that only have themselves to scale with perform nearly as well as the current 7" figs that have a decent well of crossover applications?

Kenny LANDED one on Perry under his left eye. I'm sure the apologies will be flying fast and fierce backstage for that too

There are no stakes.
Pro sport drafts, aside from an ever rare expansion draft, involve organizations building up their futures using fresh new names from underling leagues. The process is long and meticulous. Team personnel stake their reputations and careers on draft picks. No prospect is without risk of becoming a bust or living up to their spot, and one wrong move can doom a team for years. Teams work within a bunch of limitations and restrictions: salary caps, contract lengths, player wishes, all of which they have to consider.
WWE drafts have no such drama points. There is no competition between Raw and SD other than this forced exercise. The same reused pool of talents every year, which the audience has seen over and over in recent years. No restrictions within which the shows need to operate or consider. No risks, no rewards, no surprise breakout stars, no ladder of advancement to even show a person's progress in their career. Even if a talent leaves or gets injured, the show won't be shown to suffer due to it.

Looking at the names CM Punk was drafted around makes him look second rate. No way Damage Control should have been taken before him. They got Cody their title now. WWE has no point glorifying Punk's name anymore. Continuing to make him a big deal just furthers Punk's own personal grudge.

I get protecting your roster but damn lol this draft is anticlimactic. I think the way they try to make it look "real" is completely ridiculous. Just draft the names and stop trying to make the wrestlers act happy, sad, or surprised. No changes to their contracts. No monetary adjustments. No moving across the country. Just if they're working on Mondays or Fridays.
