Derek Carr will probably go to another team...and led the league in fumbles or interceptions. Took the Raiders way too long to see that 2016 was an outlier. Speaking as a Raiders fan, at the end of day, winning a Super Bowl with Derek probably wasn’t going to happen. At the same time, they’ve never had a real chance to find out what would’ve happened. Never have had a defense ranked inside of the top 20. Said 2016 season was ruined by the heartbreaking broken leg. I would love to see how many Super Bowls Tom Brady would’ve won if he never had a top 20 defense. Not to say it would be none, but damn sure wouldn’t be seven. If the biggest issue with this franchise was Derek, he would not have lasted this long. I don’t want to go back to the hell we were in after Gannon and before Carr. This is what a lot of people need to realize. He hit his ceiling. Great leader, bad choices some times. He brought stability to the position, he just couldn't get them to the big one. Interception in the red zone against the Bengals in the playoffs. Killer. Yeah the Raiders defense has been bad but break down some of the losses from this year and the offense deserves some credit. They lose to the Chargers in week 1 by a score 24-19, a game in which Carr threw 3 interceptions. Lost to Tennessee 24-22 and guess what the Raiders defense kept Tennessee scoreless in the second half of that game. The game against the Chiefs was 30-29 and the Raiders had the ball with 2 plus minutes on the clock and could have won it with the offense and they didn't.

With you getting so many holy grails, I'm sure there's still so much more you'd like to get. I'm curious if there is a wrestler's autograph that either doesn't exist or is very rare. I don't classify Andre in that category necessarily because I saw videos of him signing scrap paper for kids post match, he did a WWF sponsored signing or two for big wigs (one I think in 1987 and the Toy Fair 91). The material exists, it's just the stuff will never see the light of day by being sold. Is there a wrestler or personality that always refused to sign? Or someone who was around before autographs were really a thing. Obviously people would have signed checks, letters, documents but maybe didn't sign for fans. Even guys who pulled the heel gimmick and refused to sign would have signed at some point, probably done a signing or a meet and greet somewhere and lots of material exists. But is there a guy where close to nothing given to a fan exists? This may not fit the criteria but I was helping someone out a few months ago on a display piece that he was working on. He wasn't sure how he was going to display it but he wanted every NWA World Champion up until 84 when the title was pretty much JCP. We tried to get any paper or index cards that were signed. The only guy we never found to purchase anything of was Orville Brown. If I'm not mistaken he ended up finding a program that was signed by Brown in a private collection but the person wasn't going to give it up. Someone posted an autograph book in one of the facebook groups and it was signed by tons of WWF talent from the mid 80's. It had Adrian Adonis who is my personal grail.

Wow Johnson tried to powerplay his way to the top of DC Studios, using Cavill along the way, leaking numbers, embarrassingly trying to defend his movies box office performance and trying to compare it to Captain America. Making Cavill post that he was back as Superman to try to generate the box office for Black Adam after dismissal opening weekend was a terrible move. Cavill confirmed on Instagram that it was WB who gave him the green light to announce his return, not Dwayne. Rocky may have been pushing for a Cavill return (makes sense considering Superman is the biggest DC name after Batman), but it’s WB who makes the final decisions. I don’t see why people are trying to make Dwayne the villain here. He clearly had a passion to get Black Adam off the ground and help get DC back on track. He was going above and beyond to promote this movie for months despite little to no marketing from WB and a terrible release date. WB are the ones, again, that gave Rocky the green light to run with this movie, which gave us fun portrayals of Dr. Fate and Hawkman. And after spending nearly 15 years trying to get this made despite WB’s incompetence, he’s shown the door like the rest of the actors in this franchise who have been jerked around. The timing of his announcement is everything. I wonder who at Warner told Henry to go on social media...because a week after the announcement they announce Gunn and Safran have control. And Gunn confirmed all Black Adam/Superman stuff was before him. So did a Warner exec just not give a crap and said " it, announce you're back. What are they going to do, fire you?!". Well actually not fire him because Cavill didn't have a contract. It's just a ton of mismanagement and chaos partly caused by the merger. I ing love DC and I have not hidden my feelings about all of it started. I hate Snyder and was devastated when he was at the forefront (I hate Whedon even more though). I thought the movies/stories they decided to make were stupid choices. My favorite movies they've put out are not even part of this universe, Joker and The Batman. Those two I'll revisit. I liked Wonder Woman and The Suicide Squad, but I'll never re-watch those movies. The rest of them I hated. Something positive - they did a great job casting and that's what really sucks. You had the players and the team. It was the coaches and owners that let you down because they didn't have a good game plan.

As a Florida Gator Steve Spurrier will always be my favorite head coach. But Mike Leach is easily top 5 for me personally. He was basically doing the two minute drill the entire game. I loved watching his teams play, I always rooted for Mike. He made a huge impact on football that will be felt for years to come. And to Nivro™ - you probably know this but some insane number of Heisman voters didn't even have Manning on the ballot because he didn't beat Florida. It was like 20-24 percent of voters didn't vote for him and most pointed to him not beating Florida and to what Woodson did in the Ohio St - Michigan game. Woodson definitely won that game for Michigan, and he had his "Heisman Moment" not sure he should have won it. Woodson was an incredible player though, not trying to take anything away from him.

Hooker should have been a finalists for the Heisman. He was the favorite until his injury and then the hype train got behind Williams. Congrats to Lincoln Riley, he will have the same number of Heisman winners as his losses in the Playoffs, 0-3. That is if Williams wins.
Ohio State in the playoffs...Georgia is built the same way as Michigan as far as the lines go. Michigan bullied Ohio State. What will it say about the program if it goes undefeated all year long and then when it matters the most, you get manhandled and the last two games of the season when it really mattered. Ohio State doesn't have a run game. They have the best wide receiver group in the college football though, so maybe Ohio State sticks to spreading out the field and getting players to make plays in space. Not a great formula for winning a championship but it might be all they've got against Georgia.
I'm really interested in Michigan-TCU. Watching TCU against K-State, you just knew the committee was going to put in TCU after the effort they gave.

The offense had saved its poor defense all season for USC. Utah made the adjustments from game one. Congrats to Utah. They punched USC in the mouth and USC panicked.
Now if Ohio State gets in, which I assume they will, they had better implemented a free safety on defense because they did not have one against Michigan.

From the call notes it's clear by what Boo said the committee see's the Vols loss to South Carolina and the point margin a lot more negatively than Alabama losing on a last second field goal and a two point conversion in overtime and that seems to outweigh the head to head. He kept saying "body of work" so that seems to be the go to as to why criteria isn't really kept. I get it, fair? Maybe not. It's kind of moot at the end of the day cause neither will get in the playoffs. It seems it's down to USC and Ohio State.
Speculation is pointing to Deion Sanders taking the Cincinnati job. Should get interesting over the next few days.

I don't think Saban is going to retire any time soon. I always thought with new wrinkles added to college football he might get fed up, examples being transfer portal and NIL. But he finds ways to adapt yet bitch about it at the same time. Tennessee is ranked where they are because they don't have Hooker. If Tennessee and Alabama played today, would Tennessee really be the favorite without their Heisman caliber Quarterback? That is just the way they look at it. Some times it's not about what happened on the field a month ago, it's more about the teams at the present moment. They posted their criteria for ranking and Tennessee has the better criteria. The injury excuse is just that. An excuse. Are they using the old criteria or was it updated recently? Yes it would be an excuse for Tennessee if Alabama and Tennessee played today and Bama trashed them because they would say "Well we wouldn't have been blown out if we had Hooker."

Yeah, Fickell is at Wisconsin now. I would think that with Cincinnati joining the Big 12, they would have done everything that could to keep him. Maybe Wisconsin had an offer Cincinnati couldn't match, or maybe they really do have Urban Meyer waiting in the wings.
Some people are speculating that Kiffin is waiting for Saban to retire to get the Alabama job, which is why he didn't go to Auburn. I think that has more potential to come back to bite Kiffin. Too many times we've seen coaches "waiting" on jobs thinking they will get it but some new hot prospect comes up and the value of the coach waiting goes down.

I never understood why Auburn was so in love with Kiffin when he hasn't done much in the SEC as it is. But I also think if you are going to hire someone with baggage, you might as well go all out for Urban Meyer. He will at least win you a title. Unless the rumors of him going to Cincinnati are true and Auburn settled for Freeze. I'm kind of surprised they didn't go for Deion Sanders after all the public support he has gotten around the town/state. I guess those two victories over Saban was enough to put Freeze over the top.

Disappointed in the arms and hands. He needs bigger arms. And I forgot how many they've done this with, but when Hall/Razor did what he called the surfboard walk, he did not have his hands fanned out like Cena's You Can't See Me or like his about to do the god damn Worm. I know it's a small thing, but his entrance to me is one of the greatest in wrestling.

I think TCU should get in with a loss because the argument could be made that they split the series with K-State. Not a very good one, and Auburn saw two teams they beat in Alabama and Georgia get in the playoff despite them beating both and losing the SEC title a few years ago. But I think TCU should be in.
Wetzel has an interesting take that Georgia, Michigan, TCU, and USC should be in no matter what and that if you take any of those teams out, at this point, you are rewarding a team that didn't play for a conference championship. I think it's a good argument but the problem is USC. I could see a lot of people getting mad over a 2 loss USC getting in over a 1 loss Ohio State.

I think at this point Georgia, Michigan, and TCU are a lock to get into the playoffs no matter what happens in title games. If USC wins, they are in. The interesting debate I've been seeing around is if Alabama should be ranked at #5 instead of Ohio State after this weekend with USC at #4. I don't buy into conspiracy theories but if they move Alabama to 5...come on now.

With the Tennessee loss it opens the door for the Ohio State/Michigan loser to get in. I'm seeing some talking heads wondering aloud about Clemson getting in with the potential field being Georgia, Ohio State, USC, Clemson. Pretty much no one expects TCU to win out, but I think they can. They keep finding ways to win and close out games.

Jim Winburn passed away recently. He was a super nice guy when I met him 15 years or so ago but from everyone I know that ever met him he was always nice to fans. Complete opposite of Tony Moran. I know I posted this already but Breckin Meyer was added. I didn't ask but he added his character name, which is really cool. I requested Alice Cooper to add his character name but he didn't do it and he didn't put his full quote. So now Alice Cooper is going to be the only one that doesn't have his character name. I really hope to add Rachel Talalay but I never see her do signings. Tom Arnold will probably be the next one added at Days of the Dead in Atlanta in January. Ricky Dean Logan and Lezlie Deane seem to do appearances every now again so if I get a heads up I'll add them. The poster: Breckin signing:
