A few shots of hand-painted Bone Crushing Wrestlers prototypes appear in this excellent new video by 3Lephant (Naptown Icon): FC hinted at it on their Instagram Stories: Here’s Series 2 Glacier (first shown in the video around the 20:02 mark): Series 1 Ultimo Dragon and “Macho Man” Randy Savage: Series 1 Sonny Onoo (variant) Again, these are all still in prototype form and are NOT final samples.

This and SummerSlam ‘93 were two shows I grew up on because my parents ordered the PPVs for me and recorded them to VHS, so I always had access to them whenever I wanted to watch a wrestling show. I still have both tapes, but unfortunately for this show, everything except the first minute or so of the SVS ‘94 pre show got taped over - and it wasn’t even for anything worthwhile! Just some day my dad was randomly watching C-SPAN and hit record on the VCR. I always made it a point to remind him how much that bothered me lol.
I watched it on the WWE Network several years ago on the morning of Thanksgiving, and it definitely still holds a place in my heart. Helen throwing in the towel after Bret was locked in the crossface chickenwing for forever is a moment burned into my brain. Bob Backlund was the greatest heel I’d known up ‘til that point. Chuck Norris being the enforcer for the Casket match. Lawler and Doink’s teams were never this bad thing to me - just an alternate form of entertainment in wrestling. It was for little kids and not meant to be taken so seriously.
One aspect of Survivor Series that I always loved and made it seem like a special, once-a-year event was when the teams entered together. I get such a rush of nostalgia from pairings you wouldn’t normally see on the same team, walking in a single file line as they’re introduced one at a time. Bonus points if there is a video wall behind them.

Here’s a look at the Sonny Onoo prototype with camera accessory and trading cards: Sonny posted that pic on his socials. As crazy as it sounds, this is my most anticipated from the rest of Series 1.

I really hope they make the canceled Chainsaw Charlie BCA. The mini figure did come out, but we never got the full size one. It was suppose to be packaged with a Cactus Jack figure, but that figure was instead included in a Foley 3 pack and the 2 pack was replaced with a Lawler and Cristopher repaint. I would also love a Funk figure. Depends on if he has a deal with WWE, or if his estate is open to many suitors. I would personally rather have a ‘97/‘98 Terry Funk than a Chainsaw Charlie. There are a lot of ‘90s looks to be made of Funk should FC want to do them. They could get at least two or three variants out of him.

Do we know if Bruiser Brody will be sold with his vest Friday? He hasn’t said either way, but I’m thinking it will not. If it were to come with the vest, I would expect him to include it on the mock flyer.

It’s a very decent Mattel version of a Retro style figure. All of them in that set are, really. They’ve got their flaws, some more than others, but if you’re interested in that time period and want to have figures in that scale, it’s the best option you have right now. Lawler and company may be locked up with WWE/Mattel for years to come, and your only alternative would be a more expensive custom. I like the Lawler and I don't like many of the Mattels. I think for the most part the ones that have more deco look better, think it hides the cheapness look of the sculpts. Cept that Vader, the stance just makes it look too weird. It’s just too big and boxy. If you can overlook that, the rest of it isn’t bad for the price Mattel charges. I wouldn’t be satisfied with it if I were paying Zombie prices, but for $15-20 each, I’ll take it. Beats not having a Vader at all for my collection.

I'm very tempted to get the Lawler retro, as it's very Hasbro-like, imo. I've no interest in the Vader retro, but part of me feels like picking it up just because, same with masked Taker. I'm mainly interested in 1991-1995 for retros, with a few exceptions here and there. It’s a very decent Mattel version of a Retro style figure. All of them in that set are, really. Just announced that the Diana will be in a 2-pack with the Bulldog. Highly dissapointing, and sounds like another blunder on his part. I've been trying to defend his figures so much, but this is a clear panic move after he figured out that Diana aint selling on it's own. Crap move IMO. And it's going to continue to damage his image. Making Bulldog more expensive by packaging him with a lesser likeness doesn’t seem like a winning strategy. If anything, I think this will hurt the would-be sales for Bulldog. It’s a good idea in theory, but not if the execution isn’t up to par.

Thanks for this and a GREAT idea for FF! No problem! If you have any specific figures in mind that you’re planning on using, I can give suggestions for what I’d put with them.

I loved the opening Black Friday scene. It reminded me oh so much of the insanity surrounding all of it and people being ing greedy over crap they really don't need and just being bungholes to each other which often escalated to violence. The opening just turned that aspect to 11 and I loved it. I admit it, I used to go out to stores after Thanksgiving dinner to see what kind of deals I could get (mostly on DVD, blurays, etc.) and have witnessed first hand people being outright nasty to each other over saving $100 bucks on a goddamn TV. Yeah, I prefer to avoid big crowds like that if at all possible. There’s nothing I want badly enough that I would subject myself to it. As far as the scene goes, I think a second viewing might help. It just didn’t all the way land for me. There wasn’t enough emotional weight to it, which I think was needed for it to be the catalyst for events that took place later in the movie. I was hoping it would give me reasons to want to care about the characters right from the jump, but because they’re all indistinguishable by that point and there’s so much going on around them, the concern I would have had for them got lost in all of the chaos and comedy.

I think it’s referencing the act of Mattel having to paint the rest of the kick pad design below Johnny’s knees because they intentionally gave him the wrong, short kickers.

Hey guys, I'm going to begin filming a new pic fed (hopefully in the very immediate future) after spending about a year building up a roster (it will be comprised of WWF BCA, WCW Toybiz, and ECW OFSTM) and I was just wondering if anyone has any very easy fix up ideas for the BCA line, something that might be so small but makes the figure either feel more complete or just helps it pop a bit. Thanks! I like borrowing belts and other accessories from Mattel and the later Jakks years to use with my BCA figures. Here are some examples: Most anything that fits with a six-inch figure scale should work with this line. Mattel soft goods fit better with the smaller BCA bodies. The coat with Flash came from the Jakks CS9 Godfather.

Does anyone know which Yokozuna BCA is considered more rare than the other? Was the white attire rarer than the red or the other way around? Were both equally hard to find? From my understanding they were both KB Toys exclusives and because we never had KB Toys here in Canada I missed getting it as a kid. A Yokozuna BCA of either attire is on my bucket list but I'm just trying to get an idea of what to expect when looking at pricing and what can be considered fair or gouging. The Yokozuna in white would be considerably less common since it was only released the one time, whereas Yokozuna in red was available on two separate occasions (Triple Threat 3-pack first, then as the first selection for the Special Edition series). It seems that collectors still want the solo red card more - probably because it’s the more memorable attire, so prices tend to be higher for it than the repaint in white.

Is it the Black Friday sale where previous years prices have been mega low? There are usually 3-4 weeks of Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales with fluctuating prices.

I love slashers, good and bad, and Thanksgiving falls somewhere in between for me. More good than bad, for sure. The best parts of the movie are the kills, without question. There are enough to get you through and make you feel like you get your money’s worth. Because there are so many characters presented, you’re never really sure where they’re going to come from next. The same could be said of the “Whodunit?” plot line - you may have your suspicions, but you won’t really know who did it until late in the story.
Very cool use of practical effects - blood and guts, and all of that - and the staging of certain sequences do offer a fair bit of tension. Jump scares are not overdone for a movie of this nature. I couldn’t really relate to any of the characters, so in that way it acts as a typical slasher comprised mostly of disposable bodies. Casting felt like a modern Scream sequel, but without the star power. The setting and theme around Thanksgiving was used well.
I must say that I’m probably in the minority as far as folks who weren’t overly impressed with the Black Friday scene. It straddles the line between comedy and drama and doesn’t really do either justice. Comes off more like schlocky, made-for-SyFy fare than I would expect of a theatrical release. It wasn’t the tone setter that I’d hoped it would be. For the most part, the characters come across as one-dimensional. The big reveal at the end falls a bit flat, too. Not so much because of the character, but the final chase feels rushed.
It’s good for a surface level popcorn movie, or especially if you like gory slashers. Has similarities to Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer, My Bloody Valentine, and Final Destination (kills), as well as some obvious nods to classics like Halloween. I paid a discounted price to see it, and I’ll more than likely pick it up when it comes out on home video.

He wouldn’t be near the top of my wishlist, but Bully is a character we’ll likely never see again, and I can always make room in my collection for first-timers. I like the looks of it and will gladly display with the others.

49.19 - Cardona/Gage (each) 48.14 - Sterling x2 + Todd (each) 46.81 - Booger 47.87 - Bruce Lee 50.62 - Gargano 43.12 - Raven + S2 set of 5 (each) 51.02 - NYCC Sabu 50.54 - Danhausen 47.64 - Jarrett 42.73 - S1 set of 5 (each) Here’s how the prices have stacked up for me since the line began. That’s with the cost of shipping factored in. These prices are absolutely insane for a line of 4 inch figures. Double the price of a 7 inch highly detailed NECA fig with all the bells and whistles. Long wait times and a personality that makes 1997 Shawn Michaels look like Mick Foley. I’m genuinely surprised he’s managed to make it a success. But he has so good for him. The only fair comparison is to other Retro style figures on the market, and Zombie’s are clearly among the best. Who else is making the same characters in this scale and for a cheaper price? You’re not going to get the same factory-produced quality by commissioning customs either.

Yeah that sticker shock is real on this Cardona gage 2 pack. 98 bucks shipped. Having a real hard time pulling the trigger on this one Yeah, that’s what it was for me, too. I was thinking it might go up for $75-80. I’m not gonna beat myself up over $5-10 for a set I was always planning to buy. It’s not this really memorable moment for me as a fan - I just like the figure sculpts and want to support the line.
