Been here since early 2005. Made an account when I was 11, got banned for saying something stupid probably. Have had this account since 2006. Dont post much anymore especially since I rarely watch wrestling anymore.

I truthfully think he is done. He isnt going to come back to wrestle a nostalgic match. I think hes at peace.
The only way I see him coming back is to put over AJ in a real match ad even that I dont even see happening.

The FCW/NXT random name generator in the PG era. Banned words like wrestling, title shot, hospital, etc. The banning of words really confused me. Especially phrases that were synonymous with pro wrestling. When you start forcing talent, especially commentators to replace common words with something more I guess you can say particular, then they just sound extremely unnatural and not genuine. The recent commercial thing really annoyed me for a while. Somebody had told Vince that during live sports they never cut to commercial during the action, so his response was shorter matches and random 2 out of 3 fall matches. This was so out of left field, they couldnt come up with a better strategy than that?

We cant crucify somebody for a mistake they made and then when they put out a statement apologizing, we question the sincerity of said apology. Doesnt work that way.

Sammy is about to get cancelled next so, was good while it lasted I suppose. From what I've seen, he'll be fine if he puts out a statement and apologizes for what he said. If he actually hurt someone it'd be a different story. Im just going off the initial response from people online, they want his head. Actually, they are acting as if he physically assaulted someone as opposed to just saying a bad joke. I would hope all he needs to do is put out an apology and its forgotten but with everything going on right now and the world we are living in, you really dont know.

The series was great but that final episode was phenomenal (maybe pun?)
I was sure that we would get Undertaker Vs AJ at next years Mania for Undertakers final match, doing the favors to AJ. But after part 5, I believe he is done. And with that I believe he is at peace with it. Good for him. Guy is a legend and I dont think anyone is more respected in the history of pro wrestling than Mark Calloway is.
That montage at the end was definitely a tear jerker, for sure.
Thankyou Taker.

It would be really beneficial to have an honest mature conversation about whats going on today but I understand why its not allowed on the boards. I may disagree but those are the rules.
And dont give me that go on Twitter nonsense. Everyone knows Twitter is the last place to have a rational dialogue.

The style isnt exclusive to the matches but a lot of time the match order as well. Its supposed to be a roller coaster effect emotion. Its why for years they would sometimes put a 5 minute diva match right before the main event or before two important matches. That would give the crowd a chance to cool down after a long match and the main event, which they obviously want big reactions for.
But I think today its harder because everyone wants to steal the show and the crowd actually reacts louder to something they dont like, burning them out. Then by the big match, they are sitting there waiting for something cool to happen instead of reacting during the heat.

Hold the phone, WWE really made "The Greatest Show" the theme song for this PPV? I mean the original from the movie is fantastic but what a way to force feed to the audience.
*shivers*

What an odd thread. Most wrestlers in WWE will argue working for Vince sets them up for life outside of Pro Wrestling. In WWE you are reading off scripts, improv in the ring, working the cameras, feeling and working the live audience, working with creative and thats just a day of TV. They do interviews for local radio, PR, TV guests and a lot more.
As far as hobbies go, Im sure its incredibly hard for these stars to find the time to do things outside of what WWE has them doing. Even then, Xavier Woods has his gaming channel, Jericho had his band.
And calling a number of these superstars useless outside the ring is pretty ignorant IMO.

Hopefully we can keep this thread mature and not get locked like the last one.
What a horrible situation. Obviously not happy about a lost life but relieved they hopefully found the body.

I cant say I miss her but the Womens division is absolutely missing her and thats almost indisputable. But thats a combination of Ronda leaving and their own decisions with current roster. Pairing Becky with Seth was the worst thing they could have done with her after her breakout year and theres only one way to fix it, thats Ronda.
And didnt Ronda just work everybody into a shoot? Brother

While I understand your point, empty arena matches arent pro wrestling either. The very basis of pro wrestling is crowd manipulation. If theres no crowd, you dont have a wrestling match. So for the time being, I have absolutely no problem with these segements/matches being on the shows. They are entertaining and keep the shows going during these months where we have nothing to watch. Your points are valid as a viewer. I’m speaking from kayfabe. Working a crowd ain’t kayfabe, but it’s like a magic show without an audience, the work is exposed. What makes me angrier than anything is Gargano/Ciampa just ripping off spots from Edge and Orton’s Match. It’s pitiful. They had no ing reason to go to the truck besides “oh it looks cool” I cant speak on Gargano/Ciampa I havent seen it yet actually. Tho I will say I absolutely didnt care for Edge/Orton so theres that.

These segments aren't pro wrestling. Honestly, a lot of crap that people like about what they think is wrestling has no place in wrestling, but the whole thing has gotten away from everybody. They're interesting segments, but they're not "matches" they're something else being done by wrestlers. They're just going to be overdone and make things harder for the wrestlers to actually make money doing wrestling as it was intended. Something people can believe in and justify. You can believe and justify some pretty strange things for wrestling, but this just isn't it.

I hate seeing people gloat saying they knew it would flop. This had nothing to do with the product. As a huge football fan, the product on the field was enjoyable and was something to watch on the weekends while NFL was in offseason.
If this pandemic didnt hit, I 100% believe there would have been a 2021 season. Its a shame really.
