Couldn't agree more about The Patriot. Sure he was only around for what was probably 3months, he made a damn impact!
See with Sandman I'd much prefer the all white look from the Manhattan Centre show myself. But as long as he's in a classic look I'll take it.

Doubt it. With the new articulation/FX and people that missed out on the Nation 2-Pack, people are going to want a NOD Rock. Yup. A corrected Skintone Farooq is a lock to show in this line now with Kama & DLo recently in Legends Clarence Mason BAF!! Lol You know, I'd not be against a Mason! I definitely think there's legs to this subline and depending on the dates, they really could get some of those more obscure folks out from 95-96. I mean, my biggest hopes are the likes of The Patriot, Test and Ahmed Johnson. But I'll take a MEAT, definitely expect a Headbangers in a coming wave too unless they're put in a Legends wave. Alot of possibilities, alot that could interest me. RVD opens the possibility of others like a Sandman and Dudleys from the March Raw 97.

Black was the way to go IMO but I would have made purple the chase not blue. Series 3 is must have for me but I worry that series 1 & 2 won't sell well enough here in Ireland & we won't see S3. Series 1 has sold very well here in the UK. Series 2 is where my worry is. I'm hoping with the fact these are exclusive to smyths there are enough collectors getting them to justify Series 3 I'd imagine it'll be a contract they've got which covers a set amount of waves or years. I think w1 has done well because they don't seem to have gotten too many in; there's maybe x3 full waves per store? Anywho I'll be grabbing "Diesel" from w2, maybe Trips depending on how he looks to but we'll see. W3 is where I'm fully in, and beyond of course. I'm not necessarily looking for the Beaver Cleavage's and Mortius's; but I'll take specific attires for already existing guys. Give us a Pillman in street Hart Foundation gear, heck give us a Big Bubba!

All in on this wave, will get everyone instantly, just hoping their still easy to grab in the UK by then. If we're getting these, surely their release won't be that far off right? Wave 2 is up on smyths now. although not in stock yet of course. I fully expect us to get all the waves in the uk. only sad thing is it looks like we dont get the ultimates in this line. That's the pisser, however I'm sure they'll be easy enough to get from imports and such. Hopefully anyway cause both are down as big buys for me

WHy do I get the feeling that THIS is going to be the line where they throw in the '96 Face champion Shawn Michaels in a regularly worn (not just a one or two off) attire that I've been begging for for years? All I want is a Mind Games HBK, is that too much to ask?!

Went to Smyths and picked up Austin (and Legends Kama and D'Lo), looks good, gonna be popping the Kama vest on Austin to give me that late 96 look.
They had the full wave, hopefully they continue getting them in, w3 especially interests me. Need the UE Hitman too, looks great to me and the definitive 97 heel Bret.

I've just started up with Mattel, was a Jakks guy through and through but now with hearing the signings they have I'm all in! Playing catch up with a bunch but really hoping to see some goodies revealed soon. Headbangers and Pillman specifically are the biggest wants on the list.

The initial plan was Trips/Austin at ManiaX8, however when he got injured that ed it up. That whole time seems to have been super week-to-week in terms of writing. I believe SummerSlam would have been Austin/Benoit for the title, and maybe you get Jericho/Trips too. Thankfully though Trips was injured, really was the breakout for both Angle and Edge!

I'm pretty sure the AD12 Triple H had that head without facial hair. Take that head and pop it on RA6 and you're set! The Elimination Chamber set Trips is perfect 2002 too

Been going through 01/02 stuff lately; last night was Edge Vs Angle, KOTR final. Nice enough match, Angle REALLY made Edge in those 2 years

The only person that yanks themselves off more over HOW GREAT THEY ARE is Matt Cardona; get them together and we can have a battle of the egos and find out once and for all...who really cares

Why though? He didn't need it, like at all. I'm a huge Edge fan, but in 2021 Edge has no right or need to be main eventing Mania. He's at the level that any match he's in is a marquee matchup by association, just an absolute shame and waste. They have such a rich, skilled roster yet the final 2 were guys who have been around for the last 20+ years! Imagine the last 2 at the 2001 Rumble being Hogan and Iron Shiek, that's what its like. And the Goldberg/McIntyre, jeez I have to ask; has McIntyre had any actual matches during the last year or have they all been a flurry of headbutts and finishers? Of course Goldberg isnt a technical marvel, but he can put on decent matches, same for McIntyre, but instead we get what we got? Ugh, IMO this show exemplifies what's wrong with the business (all companies); way way too much time spent on names made 10-20 years ago (how are the biggest names in wrestling today Edge, Orton, Jericho and ing Don Callas?!) and mostly ignorance towards making new stars. It's not because the new guys cant go, they can, as good as the past generations ever could! It's just mind blowing.

Jeremy likes to talk alot but brings no jam to the situation; he's more interested in those ing Pokemon cards these days! Honestly, this line has totally started at a snail's pace and going a route of pointlessness with Cardona holding the leash screaming about how great they are.

To me it was always Vince wanting to put the competition down, and despite Big Show being the first big star in that era to jump from WCW to the WWF, Vince wanted to show the audience that his guys were superior (a 180 to WCW where the invaders where always superior to the home grown talent). I’m sure Vince said in passing during negotiations with Wright that he envisioned an Austin/Big Show WM main event, but who knows if that was ever the true plan (some rumors say it was in Show’s contract to main event a WM but I doubt Vince ever put that in anyone’s contract). I think it comes down to Vince wanting to break down an outsider and building them back up in “his vision.” We saw plenty of that in the early 2000s as more top WCW guys came into the company, and Vince probably felt giving it away on Raw would boost Austin’s credibility, hurt WCW, and start the rebuild of Wright under “Vince’s vision.” Was this wrong? In the long run sure as Big Show became a joke within months of debuting. But outside of Show himself, I don’t see how it hurt the WWF at the time as they were on fire no matter what they did. Oh no I get you, like I get why they did the match but for it to be actually competitive and for Show to lose decisively, just weird. As for the contract stuff, I'm reading that when Trips resigned in 98 that the big part of it was the promise of the Championship within 6-18months of signing. This was the point where Vince was starting to guarantee guys things, especially if he saw them as a big draw

Ok so I'm sure this has been talked about a lil bit in my 10years on the site but I've gotta pose the question one more time; why did they give us such a HUGE match on a throwaway Raw?
I've been reading a bunch of rumour sites from 98/99 (fascinating stuff btw), but one thing that was consistent till as late as July/August and early as January was that it was set as Austin/Wight at Mania2000. Why give it away so soon, why give your top match away on free TV and within 5weeks of Wight showing up?
Dont get me wrong, I feel the build to WM15 is one of the best ever but to have that match be as competitive as it was, just weird. Heck have it, but have it be a brawl, we didn't need a full match...did we?

I never understood why people find the concept stale. I think there's many scenarios they haven't explored with the stipulation. Someone holding the briefcase and world title would be an awesome idea. Having a champion lose their title, beat up their opponent after and cash in would draw some serious heel heat. Would be perfect to be the catalyst of a heel turn!!

So I'm watching early 99 Raw's and have come to JR's heel run with Dr Death and it got me thinking. We always hear about the Oklahoma stuff in WCW and how Fararra was a dick and all that, but one thing that never gets brought up is that Dr Death was there right by his side. JR and Williams were great friends as far as I'm aware, so like, has it ever been talked about what JR thought of Dr Death being in that role and if it took any toll on their relationship.
