Great collection man. Love the throwback collection pictures and glad to hear you are rebuilding both your collection and life through mental hurdles. It quite amazing to see how far the line has come in recent years. Plenty of growth both in official releases and within customizing. Some of these figures are amazing and happy to see you’ve added so many to your v3 collection. -Ruff Figures (FKA classicdas) my dude!! thank you for the words 🙏🙏 SO GLAD to see you active in this thread! the custom work that you provided to me as a collector was the absolute high point of my collection at the time. i was at the connoisseur level where i was about ready to box up my entire collection and send it to you for head repaints all around 😂 i actively stalked your ebay page hoping to be the fist to bid on a new masterpiece. I'm not super active, but when I see a cool thread like this I have to drop in to support. Love the reviews too. Nice to see the variety of the rebuild and seeing old figures mixed in with new ones. What a great thread. Ruff Figures -- is there anywhere we can see your Customs? Out of respect to MonsoonMan and his awesome thread I wouldn't want to highjack it, but please feel free to PM me and I'll share!

Actually saw a camo O’Reilly and Owens yesterday at Target here in California. I was pretty surprised since not only had I not heard anything about these showing up at retail yet, but I know RSC just got theirs in this last week too.

What boot coverings are those? John Morrison? Are they painted or molded in that color? They are the pink ones from the first DM Warrior, painted black with white feet, obviously.

anyone know if its possible to switch out the lower legs from the newer short mold elite john cenas? i want to use the shorts mold, but not have the kneepads. i'm just not sure if the kneecap joint from other figures would fit in the slot just bumping this back up. hoping someone might know before i start buying figures for parts Johnny Polo uses Cena shorts with Milk-o-Mania Angle knees and lower legs. The connection works without modification and the joints remain rather tight. I've tried a few other combos in the past, and the joints often done mesh well. This is an especially nice combo because these shorts match the tan tone of the Angle legs, so you dont see any weird joint colors.

Arn does too I'm pretty sure. They have different thighs. Flair generally uses them too. Arn definitely has longer calves. He shares this mold with guys like Flair, Funk, the orange Hennig, etc.

Does anyone know who else has the same calves as Tully Blanchard? Larry Zbyszko does.

More pics on my insta mac_decals I've always thought that torso was the most ideal for Edge, and even more so now. Looks great.

Looking for some advice. I really want to make a simple Nation of Domination era crush like the BCA. I’m using the hair over face McIntyre head, but what should I use for the body? Crush was only 6’6 so undertaker parts would be too tall. Maybe the torso from a aba taker, legs from street gear hall, and plain longer arms, Brock glove, kick pads and knee pads? This is one I did a couple years ago... I ended using Taker torso, ABA Taker crotch, Taker legs, with Demo boots. He may have been a little bit too tall in the entirety of the line, but was noticeably shorter than Taker, which is what I wanted. The Demo boots brought him down a little bit. Kickpads would have the same effect I think.

Does anyone know of any figures besides elite 3 Santino Marella that has black boots with red laces? Papa Shango.

AFA,
The general understanding here is that the retooling of the Basic line was largely a cost-savings effort. You've also discussed that the retooling of [new] parts is the biggest expense in creating new figures.
There were numerous parts/molds that, in theory, needed to be completely overhauled to coincide with the new articulation changes, which I imagine was a pretty big invest monetarily. When is the point in which it is financially "worth it" to make the new changes, considering the efforts that had to go into creating, or revising existing parts with less articulation for the Basic line. Was there a lag time in the investment to the retooling and the long-term cost savings that it would create?
Thanks!

In all seriousness Hero has wrestled without the shirt so there is no reason why Mattel couldn't have give him a proper torso. They have given all Mankind's figs topless torsos so there is no reason why they couldn't have done the same for Hero. White shirted Mankind has a white torso underneath. I agree that there is no reason (that we know of) that Mattel couldnt have given him a proper bare torso, but they dont owe it to anyone to do so, seeing as their intent was that the torso would never be seen with the permanant shirt on top. Should they have made it a bare torso? Absolutely.

I think the argument/anger/disappointment is more along the lines that it logically would have made more sense and presumably been just as easy for Mattel to execute a bare torso under the shirt as it did the skintoned singlet. Obviously Mattel doesnt owe anyone the favor of making it convertable, but logically under a shirt would be a bare torso, which would have pleased the shirtless Ohno proponents as well. Essentially it would have given extra life to the Ohno figure ,whereas now you have to option for a shirtless Ohno unless you're switching parts. To compare it to similar situations, the first Elite Owens had a weird black cast torso under the shirt, but subsqeuent versions had a bare skintoned torso. Similarly, the first Elite Shane McMahon had a bare torso cast in white, but subsequent versions had a t-shirt mold. It's just more logical with both revisions and Ohno would have been in line with that thinking also. I dont understand the outrage, but I understand the thought behind it. And strangely, no one's losing their mind over the inaccuracy, given that Owens tends to sport a black singlet beneath his gear. Nobody would give any of this a second thought without manipulating the figure beyond its intended, marketed use. Indeed. I dont recall any discussion when the same thing was done with the original Defining Moments Undertaker, who also had a skintoned singlet underneath his shirt, which was designed as being removable.

A very specific question. Is there a figure with the AJ Styles tan skin tone that has the same hips and thighs as Elite 68 Daniel Bryan? Check out the navy blue Miz. That was the one figure of his that had the shorter/smaller legs, and all the Miz figures own the same tone as AJ.

If your hangup is not being able to crack the figure open to be able to use ratchet hips let me know. I'll take care of it for you. I'd hate for that to limit your creativity with creating something you really want. I really appreciate the offer man. But as I'm in the UK the shipping costs and stuff probably wouldn't be worth it? Ah, sorry man. I didnt realize you were overseas. Sorry about that.

Both Bulldog and JYD are ratchet hips. Yeah I knew JYD was. Thanks for confirmation on Bulldog. I guess maybe I'm outta luck until Mattel releases a new figure with white tights with ball joints If your hangup is not being able to crack the figure open to be able to use ratchet hips let me know. I'll take care of it for you. I'd hate for that to limit your creativity with creating something you really want.

E39 Bulldog just goof off the paint on the one leg. But they are molded in white Does that Bulldog have ratchet or ball joints? I figured Bulldog wouldn't work because his left leg would have been molded in blue? Both Bulldog and JYD are ratchet hips.

I'm trying to recreate this Warrior from 1995 cos it's such a unique look. And I'm in need of finding someone who has ball joint hips and white tights (just being white at the hip is fine) that aren't too wide (like Brutus) or too narrow. Does anyone know of any? RF Macho and Elite Sting both have ratchet hips and for the life of me I cannot get them off without wrecking the hips. Just gonna rebump this as I'm still on the lookout for some applicable white tights I can use for this Warrior. WM33 Elite Shawn Michaels (WM12 look) may work. Theyre undersized for Warrior, but probably your best option. Another one is the white Rollins, but those are super skinny.
