Can't wait for this DDP and Eddie, and I hope they both sell REALLY well! And I hope that kicks open the doors for more WCW stuff from all companies.

I feel like I saw a lot less pictures (and excitement) for the recent wave with Hogan, Richter, etc. I hope this New Gen wave sells better, and numbers dictate they stick to more of those eras I think it'll sell well. And yes, Alundra has been asked for over and over again, and new Bulldog and especially an updated Shawn. Execution is a little lacking, but they're figure people have been wanting. Hasbros were out from 90-94, and each series usually took about a year in production, so really it depicts 89-93. The green card guys were all guys that came in, in mid/late 93, Kid, Gunns, Borga, Bomb. And the orange cards were based on late 93 or maybe early 94. As far as what is new gen, usually the clear line is KOTR 93 when Hogan goes away for good until after WCW closes. But, some would say 92/93 is a transition period, maybe could go so far as to say New Gen started when Hogan left initially after WM 8, or when Bret won the belt in Oct 92.

The Asylum has DDP for $49.99 and free shipping. I did asylum too, they didn't charge tax neither. Didn't know there was a FC discount code though, wish I'd of checked the thread first, maybe the quicker delivery would have been worth a few bucks more. There is no code for asylum right? At least I couldn't find one.

So is there both a deluxe release with the extra arms etc, AND a standard with just the carded standard figure?

Zombie showed his Henry. Easy pass. He looks a bit thin for Henry and his head is massive. On a positive note, he looks like he's Finally backed off on the monkey arms, so that's something.. Yeah, based on that preview, meh, I dunno. Head is big like you said, and it overall doesn't look much like a Hasbro, more like a shrunk down elite or something like that.

Just flashbacks, stopped watching all current product sometime in the mid 2000's and never got back into any modern wrestling from any promotion.
I do wonder specifically, are there many others that still love old wrestling but don't watch anything modern? Or am I slim minority?

Yeah, I don't know neither at this point. I've been one of Mitch's strongest supporters, but things are very inconsistent. Not sure if FOMO will take over and I'll order, or not.

So for B and C, did Macho copy Wile E. Coyote? Or was it the other way around?

I think Mattel have forgotten what Retro's are and the time period they represent. New Gen, Attitude era, a 5th Shawn Michaels are all wasted opportunities. Out of the 24 (or 36 with Ringside) figures released so far only 6 have been true to the era (fit in with Hasbro's) With only 4 sets left I hope Mattel start listening to who fans want in this series rather than produce another 4 figures nobody asked for. What do you mean 4 sets left? Yeah, wondering too? Did Mattel say X amount of sets and it was done?

Also, no offense to Alundra Blaze, but a new generation Bret would have been so much better. I completely disagree. Alundra looks as good as an actual Hasbro, same with Yankem. Look at the tag team Bret they did - embarrassing. Same for these HBK and Bulldog. Like someone says, Shawn looks like an old man, not the vibrant HBK that Hasbro captured so amazingly well. A New Gen Bret will *not* come out well, given their track record.
Yeah, I totally agree, I don't think a singles Bret would turn out good based on the track record so far. I have yet to even see a Hasbro customizer do a Bret I like that vears from the original sculpt. I like the Blayze and it'll look good next to the Chella Bull Nakano. I'm also not bothered by reusing the same body 3 times, since neither Richter nor Chyna are in the same era, so I wouldn't personally have them displayed anywhere near each other anyway.

This is the look he went with (for reference): http://instagram.com/p/C40n24yOl7j So much later this year? My wallet thanks you.My hope is that he will do the RR95 outfit at some point: I think he wore those trunks at Surivor Series 94', so they work for me. Yeah, I'd of probably prefered Rumble, but at least they were used on one of my favorite PPVs. So, did Bulldog recently resign with WWE? Or was he just non-exclusive? Wonder why such a push to get so many Davey's out in the past few months.

I dunno, I'd rather pay $40 and get 4 figures with an action, than pay more than half of that for a single figure with no action from a company that has yet to produce consistent results Not even Mattel is consistent so maybe take that hate elsewhere. I get the original point he was making though, I think he means the final result matching the product shown at preorder. Mattel is inconsistent in not putting much effort into the designs, but they do deliver pretty much what is advertised when ordering. If Mitch irons out his quality issues and goes to a model of putting the figures up for sale only once final product is in hand like he did with King Mabel and the last version of MoM, I think he'd make many people happy.

Like a lot of other guys, I think that this line could do with some more body types - the most obviously needed being a thicker-set, Hasbro Duggan style that could work for a fair few guys from that era. But to say Mattel aren’t adding new molds isn’t really accurate - we’ve had Mean Gene, R&B Greg, Tugboat/ Vader, Jerry Lawler, Hogan and the ladies in recent sets. They are slowly introducing new parts as the sets roll out. And I’m starting to feel that Mattel are kind of damned if they do, damned if they don’t…. They try giving new action features/molds, like the Cena and the Sami Zayn kick, and are met with: “I hate that body” “Those arms are too tiny” “It doesn’t stand up” They give announcers/ managers and ladies, and are met with: “I don’t want them as they weren’t done by Hasbro!” They try broadening the line with wrestlers from pre- & post-Hasbro era and are met with: “That’s not my era” Personally, I give them props for trying some new things with the action moves - and I’d be interested in seeing more. However, that is obviously not to say that there aren’t some design and/ or practical issues - some of the kickers being a bit twitchy and difficult to stay standing up is an issue. The main frustration for me is some of the design choices: The Angle/Lex body is NOT suitable for Anvil. Personally, I don’t mind the body type; although I appreciate that it looks a little disjointed (not too dissimilar to how the jumpers do). And it definitely isn’t suitable for everyone. But where am I going in this ramble….ultimately, I suppose we have to stop using a hard comparison to the hasbros. These are not hasbros. They are retros. Inspired by hasbros. A nod to hasbros. But not hasbros. From the very first series the proportions have stood out as them being pretty distinct from hasbros. It’s probably about time, after all these years, that we accept that these are not hasbros and start to enjoy them for being their own thing. Retros. And if you don’t like retros, that’s fine! But maybe it’s worth moving along instead of fueling your own continued frustration. All good points, though I would sure love a higher quality product, this newest set hits the sweet spot era at least for me and most Hasbro fans, so it's way better than the past couple sets (80's and DX) to me, so I'll pick it up for sure.

Not to knock on anyone who still loves these Retros but I’m done with them now, it’s just pure laziness and zero effort. Mattel have been well overtaken by ZST, Hasttel and Epic whose figures make Mattel’s look so poor. I’ll just hold out hope that these independents get some of the licenses eventually to make their own versions. Yeah, I see your point. The indys have gotten a few real big names like Macho and Punk (for those that don't mind a few modern guys). But sadly, I think a few big names will not be open to indys anytime soon. Shawn, and Kevin Nash and Waltman, due to their ties to HHH I can never see not being exclusive to Mattel. Not sure about Hall since it would be his estate handling things now. Warrior, I could see lapsing and being picked up at some point, and maybe even Sting. Bret seems pretty loyal to WWE too in order to uphold his legacy and everything, but maybe there's a chance at some point.

Wasn't expecting this surprise drop, didn't think we'd see anything until Mania weekend. I do hope we see maybe the next creations wave and hope to see more from RSC. So maybe 8 figures? Wishful thinking maybe.

So, this gets me thinking, once it's all said and done, I think I'll end up with 7 Davey figs!
1. Bulldogs Tag Team (Epic) 2. 1990/91 (Hasbro) 3. 1992 (Hastel) 4. 1993 WCW (Epic?) 5. 1994/95 (Hastel) 6. 1996/camp cornette (Mattel) 7. 1997/Hart Foundation (Hastel)
At least by my tally at this point, not positive though, is the WCW one still happening? And is that Epic or some other Chella off-shoot? And are they also doing an Allied Powers attire maybe? And was there also a Bulldogs version in white too maybe?
Lots of Bulldogs either way.
