I like Cody, but I think the influx of talent in recent months has shown hes a good hand, solid upper midcarder, but not THE top guy a company builds around.
He tries too hard to be the “All American Hero” like his father, but it just doesn’t work for him, especially in today’s wrestling scene. His entrances and promos are overly long, and feuds like his with Anthony Ogogo are channel changers to a lot of fans (die hard s and casuals). Outside of the Shaq stuff earlier this year, I can’t say I’ve been that interested in his work.
Again, I’m a fan of his, but I can see why fans in general are turning on him and why a heel turn might be needed soon.

I like that auto-rematches for titles arnt a thing. It’s similar to MMA and Boxing. Yes, it happens sometimes in those sports, but more often than not, a new challenger steps up to the new champion. Keeps things fresh and allows the former champ to “refresh” with fans before getting back to it.

I feel like I've heard statlander talk before about often feeling kind of uncomfortable in these situations because she's not the most social. I could be imagining that though. May have been another aew female but I could have sworn it was her. I have a friend who met Statlander at one of these types of conventions a while back and had a similar experience. Could be that she’s just not a social person as she says. Im sure there’s plenty of performers like this. From personal experience, Mick Foley was shockingly quiet/not very talkative when I met him years ago. Not rude in any way, but just didn’t seem to care to talk much to anyone that met him.

I wouldn’t mind a UE variant or elite version of ECW ONS 2006 Cena since UE 10 is so close to it. Would just be a few color swaps and perfect. Heck, make a future UE wave of both Cena and RVD from that night. Guarantee both would be sellers.

One of the true unsung legends of wrestling. Reggie doesn’t get enough credit for the iconic belts that are so beloved today. It’s a shame what we have today compared to the belts Reggie created.
I’ll steal a great line from Heenan but with a modern twist: “Comparing Park’s belts to modern belts is like comparing ice cream to horse manure.”

The main head sits too low on the UE 5, plus he could have used the butterfly joints to do the pose he did at the Rumble. I wish they would have done the UE 10 attire first. Agreed UE5 head sits low, but the UE10 also sits too high (there’s a noticeable gap between the neck and head from behind). Seems like there’s a middle-ground between these neck-peg lengths that Mattel can hopefully nail next time.

New Era. The PG and Reality Eras were bleak, but atleast the presentation was unique and PPVs still had their own stages and looks. And say what you will about them, but Cena and Batista came off as legit stars (not on the level of an Austin and Rock, but a few steps above everyone today, including Roman).
Everything today is the same. Same entrance stages. Same matches. Same commentary. Same bland characters. Same everything.

Just recently got my UE 10 John Cena, and not the biggest fan of the figure. It honestly feels like a slight step-back from the UE 5. Crazy considering the new butterfly joints on the UE 10, but the way they molded his torso makes him look awkwardly wide (especially with the shirt on). The neck peg is also longer and makes the heads sit high (a huge gap is left when looking at the figure from the side or behind).
I prefer the UE 5 as I think it’s a better sculpted figure (love it actually), but wanted to see if anyone else feels the same way or prefers the UE10

There’s so many companies pumping out MMPR now that I’ve had to pick and choose what I purchase. I use to collect toys from every season of Power Rangers, and that eventually shrunk to MMPR-TF, and now it’s basically MMPR and Zeo. I use to collect every Ranger as well, but I’ve had to limit it to basically MMPR Red and Pink with how much merchandise is being pumped out right now. There’s a lot of great product being shown right now but it’s a lot of the same stuff over and over (just different companies), and it’s kinda killed my enthusiasm for new reveals. It's definitely getting overwhelming but I still get so excited when I see something new. I'm only a mmpr guy, never watched anything else. So it was easy enough-- just the 7 rangers. Then they did zedd. And goldar. Ok cool. Must haves. Then rita...and and then you have to have a few putty patrol running around. Then larger scale bad guys. Now ninja rangers... And those super 7s look good too. And what are the ones with the cloth suits? Tempting, but too expensive for me to bite. But so tempting. Yeah the Super 7s look great. Gonna grab red and pink but the whole team would be pricy. Mezco and Three Zero are/have done cloth Rangers. Super impressive but same, out of my price range.

As someone who lived through and had a huge Jakks collection starting from BCA up to RA, I have to agree that Mattel’s WWE figures are the best they’ve ever been done. When they took over and I held an Elite in my hand for the first time, I thought “I wish wrestling figures had always been like this.” That said, I do think after ten years Mattel should have a much larger and more diverse library of parts, but they do a good job with what they have. Both companies have some impressive output and some embarrassing output. If Hasbro were to take over, it would be much of the same. A bunch of generic bucks and a few character specific bodies. I’m not entirely sure we’d get separate elbow and knee pads though. Quality would be about the same. The only difference would be availability. Hasbro already has so many lines going, WWE might not get as much of a push as it deserves. Either way, right now the most impressive output from any company is McFarlene’s DC line. $20 and every figure is unique. I don’t even buy them, but it kind of exposes the Hasbro/Mattel excuse about requiring parts reuse to keep costs down. Then you’ve got Jazwares’ Halo and Fortnite stuff. I don’t think AEW is there quite yet. Bodies are good, but the heads need to improve. Spot on with McFarlane. It’s crazy how many new sculpts they’re able to push out and how quickly too. Now the trade off is typically less paint apps and a lot of re-releases with a different head sculpt to help offset the price of new sculpts, but I’m with you that McFarlane is proving there’s a way to provide unique sculpts while keeping costs down.

Anyone got a link for Hogan? Did you get this? Walmart.com usually sells out of the pre-oders so quickly (even if they cancel later), so I do think price hurt demand...
I was debating it since I’m a huge Hollywood Hogan fan but passed. Like someone else said, not my cup of tea.

You’ve seen the Hasbro Pulse Metallic Red Ranger helmet, right? It’s spot on. Yeah, the first red Ranger helmet is bad, but they’ve nailed the sculpt of every other helmet and are releasing a corrected red helmet as well. And you’ve also seen the old Mattel DC Universe Classics line, right? The one where they used the same few outdated sculpts for over 15 years. Yeah, Hasbro has a lot of reused parts in the ML line (“Bucky-Cap” sculpt is a meme at this point), but they’ve released more new sculpts than Mattel has under the WWE line over the past decade. Hasbro corrected their mistake with the Lightning Collection Dino Thunder White Ranger by sending everyone who purchased one a free helmet earlier this year. Mattel, who purposely hid Kane’s ridiculous arm in their promo photos, has yet to even address the issue, let alone offer any type of fix or apology. No, neither company is perfect, but Hasbro has built a lot more good will with collectors in recent years than Mattel. Hell, look what they constantly pump out to collectors with HasLab (Sentienl and Glactus being the recent big ones). Meanwhile, Mattel just had their first released under the Mattel Creations teams put having the line for 11 years already, and half the item is a ring that’s been re-released countless times over the years. I have my perspective on Hasbro, I don’t think it’s all rainbows and sunshine over there. Crowdfunding shouldn’t be used by billion dollar corporations that can easily fund their own projects, and then they sent out the Sentinel with broken legs….I’m standing firm that Hasbro isn’t the answer haha, I much much MUCH prefer Mattel. By leaps and bounds. Hasbro is going to give you a Kane that doesn’t look half as good to begin with, and it’ll still have design defects suck as you won’t even be able to take the cape off or something dumb. You DEFINITELY won’t be able to take ring jackets off because they do that now with the Legends. The Power Rangers line…ugh, dude….they released a King Spyhnx that didn’t have the nose painted. I mean, it’s one thing to miss a joint, how do you leave off a vital paint app right square in the front of his face?? And they do stuff like that all the time. Yes they fixed White Dino Thunder but that’s because people went ape s**t on them. Prepare to do that and they won’t fix it every time because they didn’t fix King Sphinx and that’s why he’s pegwarming. It looks ridiculous. The legs weren’t broken. There’s countless videos of the Sentinel where a simple pop of a cap and a tightening of a screw fixes the looseness of the legs. Yeah, King Sphinx is bad. No defending that. Pumpkin Rapper is barely better. But their Zedd and Goldar releases were great. Again, Hasbro isn’t amazing, but I feel they’ve built more good will than Mattel (just personal opinion). There GI Joe, ML, and Lightning Collection lines have had more good than bad IMO.

I see nobody mentioned how Hasbro cant have the mmpr Red helmet done right....I mean the leader of the most emblematic team and you cant have it right? Dude, anybody that collects Hasbro figures should know they would be NO better. Mattel is leaps and bounds ahead of the product Hasbro is putting out, that is so clear to anybody that buys this stuff haha. Like you said, Red Rangers helmet is horrible. Bandai made Red Rangers for 20 years, none have a head that wrong, where was the confusion? Mattel has been a good fit because they do barbies, all the entrance gear and gear details are taken for granted. Everybody has forgotten the “vest days” of Jakks? haha, if you came out with any entrance gear at all, you got a vest. Or the black tights with 2 or 3 decals to make it resemble the gear. Nowhere near the detail Mattel has put in and Hasbro would be no better. Every set of Marvel Legends has CLEAR cost cutting figures. I can’t say the same for Mattel. Plus Hasbros aren’t in scale. That will be issue #1 if they took over. It’s one thing if Nash isn’t as big as he should be, and Nash being smaller than Rey Mysterio like Jakks did. You’ve seen the Hasbro Pulse Metallic Red Ranger helmet, right? It’s spot on. Yeah, the first red Ranger helmet is bad, but they’ve nailed the sculpt of every other helmet and are releasing a corrected red helmet as well. It wouldn’t be perfect, but I’d have a hard time believing it would be worse than what we have now (not saying Mattel is bad, but the cost cutting measures is getting ridiculous).

Hasbro impressed me this year when they issued new helmets for free after the Dino Thunder White Ranger figure shipped with major paint apps missing from the helmet. They acknowledged their f***up and made it right with their customers.
I doubt we see this will Mattel unfortunately (even though I’m hoping they prove me wrong). They’ll claim they had to do it this way and there was no way around it, despite other companies like Hasbro having no problem giving us figures with arms molded in different colors.

Ok as an update, I contacted Mattel directly on this last night and the typical response, I was expecting a voucher, however, instead of the voucher they are sending me a figure from the assortment. They said it's either gonna be Kane or undertaker from the set being shipped to me for free. Prolly just gonna send me another Kane with the defect or undertaker which doesn't really fix anything. Guess we will see eventually. I’d be shocked to even see a running change for this. Mattel is known to be one of the stingiest toy companies when it comes to cutting corners (look at their DC line from the past). I’m hoping they prove me wrong and are willing to send out corrected arms to those that preordered early. Hell, Hasbro just did this in the Power Rangers Lightning Collection line earlier this year when their Dino Thunder White Ranger was shipped with major paint apps missing from the helmet. They sent everyone who contacted them a free helmet with the corrected paint (and are still doing it).

Can we get replacement arms for the UE Kane?

Got my UE Kane today. The right arm is worse in person IMO. Unless you plan to just have him standing there in a static pose, the flesh colored elbow will stick out no matter how well you try to hide it. Normally I’d hope a company would rectify this and issue replacement parts, but I doubt this knowing Mattel (they had the DC line for over 15 years and only started using updated sculpts during their final year with the line).
Otherwise a great figure, though the R3 may still be my favorite.
