WWF gets my vote although I did enjoy both shows this month.

Going to go with WWF this month, believe it or not I was actually looking forward to the Kennel from Hell match.

This one is actually though. On paper the cards are about even. Hogan vs Nash with Hogan’s return to red and yellow and the stipulation of a retirement match makes Road Wild take it this time, but barely. WWF was still white hot and I did enjoy Summerslam as well, WCW gets the edge.

WWF and it’s not even close. BATB may have been good if it were an episode of Nitro, but was weak for a PPV. Fully Loaded was good from top to bottom. Austin vs Taker and Rock vs HHH were two examples of feuds that never got old.

WWF for this one. Other than the main event, I didn’t really have interest in anything else on the GAB card. KOTR gets the vote just being KOTR. That being said, neither show was good this month.

WWF but only by a slim margin. Both cards had good main events and secondary main events on paper but nothing noteworthy on the undercards. Slamboree was ok but not that memorable. It’s not fair to judge Over the Edge because it will only be remembered for Owen’s tragic death.

Backlash gets my vote for the Austin/Rock rematch, which I enjoyed more than the Mania match. It’s close though, Spring Stampede was enjoyable but WWF gets the slight edge.

WWF although it was a rather weak Wrestlemania. Austin vs Rock 1 was great but most of the undercard leaves a lot to be desired. WCW wasn’t unwatchable, but nothing really sticks out. WWF for me because Wrestlemania is a buy no matter what.

Just now watching this. Barrett said Cena wrestling a match in WWE for two straight decades is the most ever. Unless I’m missing something, Taker wrestled at least once a year for 30 years. That may not be the most ever in WWE but John has another decade to go, Wade. I’m fine with fudging some stat to help but Cena doesn’t need that accolade to be falsely applied. Dude is made. Taker had a match every year from 1990-2020. Triple H had a match every year from 1995-2019. Kane had a match every year from 1997-2018. Orton had a match every year from 2002-2022, just like Cena.

Hmm, let’s see here. One show headlined by the two biggest stars of the 80’s against the culmination of the hottest angle in wrestling for the past year? Pretty easy, WWF.

The Rumble and it’s not even close.

I’m actually going to go with WCW. Goldberg vs Nash had my attention and I was somewhat invested in Flair vs Bischoff. Rock Bottom was ok, but other than the last two matches, nothing really stood out as anything to go out of my way to see. So, Starrcade gets the buy, but barely.

Halloween Havoc 1998 is probably my favorite WCW PPV out of all the ones I’ve seen so obviously it gets my vote.

WCW gets my vote for September. I hadn’t seen a War Games match yet at that point and remember being excited for it. WWF only hyped a few matches on the card and most seemed to be just thrown together.

WWF Summerslam 1998 is a PPV I could watch countless times and never get bored with it. WWF all the way for August 1998, the hype was off the charts and the highway to hell video package is an all-timer.

WCW for July for me. I was invested on the Rodman/Malone stuff as well as ex Steeler Kevin Greene competing in the ring. Nothing against WWF this month, but Fully Loaded looked to be, and ended up being, basically a filler PPV to build towards Summerslam.

WWF gets my vote for June based solely on the HITC match, going in I remember being excited for it based on highlights of the original, hadn’t seen it in full yet at this point just the highlights, and wanting to see how this one would play out. Needless to say, I would have made the right decision.
