Borash said throughout the next hour they will be discussing tonight’s Pay per View and informing the fans of any late breaking news but the focus of tonight’s pre-show is going to be full of non-stop action headlined by the first tag team Gauntlet for the Gold match to determine the top contenders to the TNA Tag Team titles!

MATCH 1| 10 MAN TAG| BRIAN KENDRICK, DOUG WILLIAMS, DUSTIN RHODES, HERNANDEZ & RON KILLINGS V ALEX SHELLEY W. ANGELINA LOVE, ANTONIO BANKS, KEN PHOENIX W. ALEXIS LAREE & WILDCAT WRESTLING ACADEMY (EDDIE COLON & SHAWN DAIVARI) W. NORMAN SMILEY| In the first surprise of the evening Antonio Banks was revealed as the fifth member of Team Shelley. Banks formerly of Alpha Male Enterprise has not been seen since walking out on Monty Brown at last year’s Bound for Glory event. Alex Shelley before the match was very aggressive towards Angelina Love, telling Love to stay out of the match and to not argue with Alexis Laree like last night on TNA IMPACT.
All 10 men in the match are talented and are all looking to improve their standing in TNA especially the likes of Alex Shelley, Brian Kendrick, Doug Williams and Hernandez who have the potential to go on and achieve great things. Williams and Kendrick have responded well to recent disappointment while Shelley seems to be getting side tracked by issues involving his “P.I.C” Angelina Love while Hernandez has been quiet since finishing bottom of the 2O05 TNA Championship Series.
Fun match but it was noticeable that Hernandez was not interested resting on the ropes throughout the match before jumping of the apron seemingly walking out on his team mates only for Doug Williams to confront Hernandez at ringside which caused the match official to leave the ring to deal with the situation. Alex Shelley wanted to take advantage of the situation and demanded Love pass him his cane to use on Kendrick who has helped Angelina Love recently so she was hesitant to help which led to an argument again between Shelley and Love with Alexis Laree screaming at Love too, Kendrick took advantage and dropped Shelley with his Slice Bread No.2 only for Ken Phoenix to clear Kendrick from the ring, everyone started hitting their moves and just as Williams turned to re-enter the match Hernandez floored Williams from behind as Antonio Banks hit Ron Killings with his Exploder suplex for the victory. RESULT| ALEX SHELLEY, ANTONIO BANKS, KEN PHOENIX & WILDCAT WRESTLING ACADEMY (EDDIE COLON & SHAWN DAIVARI) BEAT BRIAN KENDRICK, DOUG WILLIAMS, DUSTIN RHODES, HERNANDEZ & RON KILLINGS VIA PIN FALL
Post-match fans booed Hernandez as he strutted backstage after costing his team the match by dropping Doug Williams from behind. Alex Shelley would not allow Angelina Love to celebrate with the winning team and demanded she head backstage, as she was leaving Angelina quickly checked on Brian Kendrick who was sitting at ringside while Shelley continued to scream at Love to leave. Antonio Banks has returned tonight after a one year absence and the former “MVP of AME” has led his team to victory.
Footage was shown of Bobby Roode, Chris Sabin, Jeff Jarrett, Jeff Hardy, Team 3D (Brother Devon & Brother Ray), Chris Harris, Christopher Daniels and TNA Tag Team champions GREATNESS (Austin Aries & Roderick Strong) arrive at the arena throughout the day ahead of tonight’s Pay per View. Chris Sabin quickly spoke with TNA.Com and told them he was delighted that Christopher Daniels continues to disrespect him and ignore him because it will make tonight’s victory even sweeter.
MATCH 2| MONTY BROWN V ELIX SKIPPER| Elix Skipper & Monty Brown as apart of Alpha Male Enterprise are former TNA Tag Team champions, the second ever and they held the TNA titles from the 16th April 2003 to 1st September 2004 close to 17 months losing the titles to GREATNESS after Skipper injured his knee towards the end of the match. Monty Brown would later call Skipper weak, kick him out of AME and then brutally attacked the injured Skipper with the AME medallion Skipper used to wear until Skipper was a bloody mess before then giving the medallion to his “MVP” Antonio Banks. Monty Brown accepts he has made mistakes in his past but the ‘Alpha Male’ has refused to apologise but realises that his past mistakes may come back to haunt him.
Elix Skipper looking for revenge jumped Brown straight after the bell in the corner, Brown kept pushing Skipper off but he kept coming back. Intense short match. Skipper being blinded by rage was allowing Brown to drop Skipper with big, high impact moves but much to the shock of Brown, Skipper kept getting back up and launching himself at Brown but ultimately Brown caught Skipper with his Pounce before putting his former partner away with his Alpha Bomb. RESULT| MONTY BROWN BEAT ELIX SKIPPER VIA PIN FALL
Monty Brown tried checking on Elix Skipper after the match but Skipper wasn’t interested shrugging Brown’s attempts off before rolling out of the ring upset that he never managed to gain any revenge tonight. Mike Tenay noted how he believes that Monty Brown now realises the pain his actions caused, Brown didn’t celebrate the victory and as Monty Brown was exiting the ring Antonio Banks walked out on to the stage and held up the blood stained AME medallion! Confusing Monty Brown and the announcers who wondered what Antonio Banks actions actually meant.
TNA T.V champion, CM Punk, Low Ki and AJ Styles were all shown backstage getting ready for their matches later tonight. CM Punk refused to talk with TNA.Com while AJ Styles told TNA.Com that he was excited to get back inside the ring tonight, saying he feels good and he fully expects to beat Chris Harris, right that wrong and prove to everyone that Chris Harris should never have become the TNA champion.
Jeremy Borash noted that up next we would see the first ever tag team Gauntlet for the Gold match, one team would make history and become the Top Contenders to the TNA Tag Team titles in the process. Rules are 2 teams start the match, then every 60 seconds after a new team enters, elimination occurs when you are thrown over the top rope and BOTH feet hit the floor, until we are down to the final 2 competitors which at this point their partners would re-join the match and they would they meet in a one fall to a finish match to determine the top contenders to the TNA Tag Team titles…
MATCH 3| TOP CONTENDERS MATCH| GAUNTLET FOR THE GOLD MATCH| | 3 HOT BLONDES V AMAZING RED & JERRY LYNN V BAD STREET BOYS V BOX OFFICE W. NUMBER 2| BAD STREET BOYS (CHRISTIAN YORK & JOEY MATTHEWS)
Bad Street Boys have made it clear they want another TNA Tag Team title shot but were only willing to do things the “easy way” but if they want to become the top contenders tonight they will have to do things the “hard way” as they and International Hustlers drew the short straws. Fun opening minute before countdown clock appeared on the screen.
NUMBER 3| ERIC YOUNG & PETEY WILLIAMS W. COACH D’AMORE
The first official appearance of Coach D’Amore’s new team, Eric Young has put his trust in D’Amore after D’Amore promised Bobby Roode he would take care of the unstable Eric Young. Young and Williams laid into both teams, still no eliminations at this point.
NUMBER 4| BROTHERS IN ARMS (BG & KIP JAMES)
BG & Kip ran out and were a house on fire, dropping everyone. The former multi times Tag Team champions were taking control of the match, they are desperate to add the TNA Tag Team titles to their legacy. After their initial flurry the match calmed down again, four teams 8 men were now in the ring.
NUMBER 5| DIAMONDS IN THE ROUGH (JOHNNY SWINGER & SIMON DIAMOND)
Diamonds in the Rough making their return to TNA wrestling, the announcers were a little surprised and was not sure how long Diamond & Swinger were back for but they agreed it probably all depends on how they perform tonight.
NUMBER 6| BRISCOE BROTHERS (JAY & MARK BRISCOE)
The first ever tag team signed by TNA were in next and they like Brothers in Arms were taking down everyone and they quickly worked together to dump Johnny Swinger from the match and the first elimination of the night was quickly followed by the second after Petey Williams caught Sonjay Dutt with his Canadian Destroyer allowing Young to toss Dutt to the floor.
ELIMINATION| JOHNNY SWINGER (BRISCOE BROTHERS)
ELIMINATION| SONJAY DUTT (ERIC YOUNG)
NUMBER 7| 3 HOT BLONDES (JOHNNY DEVINE, RAY GORDY & SILAS YOUNG)
All 3 members of 3 Hot Blondes entered the match but even the numbers advantage couldn’t help the rookie team who seem more interested in their blonde hair and how they look over winning a match. Kip James quickly eliminated Ray Gordy, while Jay Briscoe tossed Silas Young before Kip again pressed Devin out on top of his tag team partners.
ELIMINATION| RAY GORDY (KIP JAMES)
ELIMINATION| SILAS YOUNG (JAY BRISCOE)
ELIMINATION| JOHNNY DEVINE (KIP JAMES)
NUMBER 8| NEW MILLENNIUM (FRANKIE KAZARIAN & MICHAEL SHANE) W. TRACI BROOKS
New Millennium are the self-proclaimed top contenders to the TNA Tag Team titles and they can erase any doubt tonight by winning the first ever Gauntlet for the Gold match. They got off to a great start after Kazarian managed to sneak up behind BG James and dump BG over the top rope eliminating one half of Brothers in Arms. Kip James responded well to losing his partner by immediately eliminating Simon Diamond with a clothesline. Diamonds in the Rough are eliminated. 10 men remain in the match
ELIMINATION| BG JAMES (FRANKIE KAZARIAN)
ELIMINATION| SIMON DIAMOND (KIP JAMES)
NUMBER 9| THE NATURALS (ANDY DOUGLAS & CHASE STEVENS)
The Naturals were in next looking to improve their standing in the TNA Tag Team division and find the former they showed when they first got together after Chase Stevens dumped Alan Funk. TJ Perkins eliminated Christian York during their entrance after Perkins ducked down when York ran at him. Briscoe Brothers also scored another elimination when Mark managed to get rid of the recently entered Andy Douglas with a back drop.
ELIMINATION| CHRISTIAN YORK (TJ PERKINS)
ELIMINATION| ANDY DOUGLAS (MARK BRISCOE)
NUMBER 10| SMASH & GRAB (BRENT ALBRIGHT & LANCE ARCHER)
Albright & Archer entered the match and made an immediate impact Archer smashed through Kip James with a running boot while Albright grabbed hold of TJ Perkins and quickly eliminated the last member of International Hustlers while Archer broke up the Briscoe’s momentum and eliminated his former Heroes for Villains team mate Mark Briscoe. Michael Shane also took advantage of Kip James’ condition following the boot from Archer and he and Kazarian flipped James over the top rope eliminating Brothers in Arms from the match.
ELIMINATION| TJ PERKINS (BRENT ALBRIGHT)
ELIMINATION| MARK BRISCOE (LANCE ARCHER)
ELIMINATION| KIP JAMES (NEW MILLENNIUM)
NUMBER 11| DELIRIOUS & SHARK BOY
Delirious & Shark Boy received an ovation probably they were not even expecting the crowd were delighted to see two of their cult favourites return. Unfortunately the masked warriors didn’t have much look when they come up against Albright & Archer. Albright & Archer hurt and toyed with Delirious & Shark Boy and just when they were about to eliminate the two…
NUMBER 12| ZERO GRAVITY (MATT SYDAL & PAUL LONDON)
Zero Gravity the former TNA Tag Team champions were in next and were immediately after revenge on Albright & Archer after the two attacked them at the last TNA Pay per View, TNA No Surrender. London & Sydal were all over Albright & Archer and then had support from Delirious & Shark Boy too before Jay Briscoe helped out. Coach D’Amore was advising Young and Williams who had been in the match since number 3 to rest while Joey Matthews made the mistake of trying to help SMASH & Grab and was quickly dumped out by Jay Briscoe
ELIMINATION| JOEY MATTHEWS (JAY BRISCOE)
NUMBER 13| WILDCAT WRESTLING ACADEMY (CLIFF COMPTON & RYAN O’REILLY) W. NORMAN SMILEY
Eric Young & Petey Williams took advantage of everyone bar Chase Stevens teaming up on Albright & Archer by double teaming Stevens and eliminating him from the match. New Millennium, the newest entries Wildcat Wrestling Academy plus Young & Williams then saved Albright & Archer by taking down Delirious & Shark Boy, Jay Briscoe and Zero Gravity.
ELIMINATION| CHASE STEVENS (ERIC YOUNG & PETEY WILLIAMS)
13 men Eric Young, Petey Williams, Jay Briscoe, Frankie Kazarian, Michael Shane, Brent Albright, Lance Archer, Delirious, Shark Boy, Matt Sydal, Paul London, Cliff Compton & Ryan O’Reilly remained in the match representing 7 teams with 2 teams left to enter.
NUMBER 14| AMAZING RED & JERRY LYNN
First ever TNA Tag Team champions were the penultimate entry and Lynn & Red targeted Eric Young and Petey Williams immediately, Coach D’Amore’s boys have made it clear they want to beat the first ever TNA Tag Team champions and end the career of the veteran Jerry Lynn. While Lynn & Red were looking for revenge a couple of eliminations occurred Lance Archer eliminated Shark Boy, Zero Gravity eliminated Ryan O’Reilly then Jerry Lynn continued to annoy Coach D’Amore by eliminating Petey Williams. Williams jumped straight on the ring apron which distracted Lynn and allowed Eric Young to dump Lynn to the floor. Officials ordered Petey Williams backstage
ELIMINATION| DELIRIOUS (LANCE ARCHER)
ELIMINATION| RYAN O’REILLY (ZERO GRAVITY)
ELIMIANTION| PETEY WILLIAMS (JERRY LYNN)
ELIMINATION| JERRY LYNN (ERIC YOUNG)
NUMBER 15| BOX OFFICE (JOHNNY CURTIS & ROBBIE ECKOS) W. JOHNNY FAIRPLAY
Johnny Fairplay debuted alongside Box Office at TNA Bound for Glory last year and would love nothing more than to celebrate his 1st anniversary by becoming the top contender to the TNA Tag Team titles. Remaining in the match now with all teams entered were Eric Young, Jay Briscoe, Frankie Kazarian, Michael Shane, Brent Albright, Lance Archer, Shark Boy, Matt Sydal, Paul London, Cliff Compton, Amazing Red, Johnny Curtis & Robbie Eckos.
Cliff Compton was the first out of the final 13 to be eliminated much to the annoyance of Norman Smiley but to the delight of the crowd because it was the unlikely Shark Boy who dumped Compton. Lance Archer quickly ruined the mood however by eliminating Shark Boy. Don Callis made Lance Archer a favourite to reach the final stage of the Gauntlet due to his performance tonight.
ELIMINATION| CLIFF COMPTON (SHARK BOY)
ELIMINATION| SHARK BOY (LANCE ARCHER)
Mike Tenay reminded everyone that if Zero Gravity were victorious tonight due to the stipulation they cannot face GREATNESS ever again, Zero Gravity would receive their shot once GREATNESS had lost the titles but that seemed unlikely after New Millennium teamed together again to dump Paul London. New Millennium are wrestling a smart match. Crowd were gutted Paul London had been eliminated. At this point Eric Young & Jay Briscoe had been in the match the longest period.
ELIMINATION| PAUL LONDON (NEW MILLENNIUM)
A few eliminations come and thick and fast, Amazing Red eliminated Johnny Curtis while Matt Sydal eliminated his partner Robbie Eckos. Box Office and Johnny Fairplay threw a fit at ringside after the eliminations. SMASH & Grab were finally cut in half after Jay Briscoe managed to drag Brent Albright over the top rope to the floor.
ELIMINATION| JOHNNY CURTIS (AMAZING RED)
ELIMINATION| ROBBIE ECKOS (MATT SYDAL)
ELIMINATION| BRENT ALBRIGHT (JAY BRISCOE)
7 remaining Eric Young, Jay Briscoe, Frankie Kazarian, Michael Shane, Lance Archer, Matt Sydal & Amazing Red. New Millennium were the only entire team left in the match. Announcers claimed New Millennium and Lance Archer were the favourites now to go on and win the match and they seemed to be proved right when Archer nearly took Red’s head off allowing Young to toss Red to the floor afterwards Young celebrated eliminating both members of the first ever TNA Tag Team champions but New Millennium quickly took advantage and flipped Young to the floor. Young went crazy afterwards and had to be escorted backstage by officials.
ELIMINATION| AMAZING RED (ERIC YOUNG)
ELIMINATION| ERIC YOUNG (NEW MILLENNUM)
Seemed New Millennium and Lance Archer were now guaranteed to head to the final stage as Jay Briscoe was exhausted from being in the match the longest at this point while Sydal had been taken apart since Paul London’s elimination. Archer, Kazarian & Shane started to stalk the fallen Briscoe & Sydal when New Millennium quickly grabbed Archer and tossed Archer to ringside! New Millennium have a 50% chance of winning this match without it needing to go to the final stage.
ELIMINATION| LANCE ARCHER (NEW MILLENNIUM)
New Millennium (Kazarian & Shane) toyed with both Briscoe & Sydal and after Kazarian dropped both with separate bicycle kicks, Kazarian went after Briscoe while Shane went after Sydal both mocking their fallen opponents but Kazarian took his eye of the ball which allowed Briscoe to toss Kazarian to the floor which caused Shane to get caught between two mind sets whether to go after Briscoe or stay on Sydal he decided to turn his attention back to Sydal and ran at Sydal only for Sydal to drop and Shane to fly over the top rope! New Millennium will not be leaving TNA Bound for Glory as the top contenders to the TNA Tag Team titles and they only have themselves to blame. Briscoe & Sydal both on their backs were quickly joined by their partners Mark Briscoe & Paul London for the final stage of the gauntlet…
ELIMINATION| FRANKIE KAZARIAN (JAY BRISCOE)
ELIMINATION| MICHAEL SHANE (MATT SYDAL)
MATCH 3| TOP CONTENDERS MATCH| GAUNTLET FOR THE GOLD MATCH| FINAL STAGE| BRISCOE BROTHERS (JAY & MARK BRISCOE) V ZERO GRAVITY (MATT SYDAL & PAUL LONDON)| Really fun but short final stage of the Gauntlet which really wet the fans appetite for a longer match between both teams. Both teams also had the same game plan of trying to single out the more exhausted member of the team either Jay Briscoe or Matt Sydal and it paid off for Zero Gravity after Paul London managed to pin Jay following his 450 splash. Zero Gravity have earned the right to challenge for the TNA Tag Team titles while the Briscoe’s stock continues to rise. Following the match both teams showed respect to one another, which continues to show the growth of the Briscoe’s. Zero Gravity will now be in line for a TNA Tag Team title shot as soon as GREATNESS have lost the TNA Tag Team titles. RESULT| ZERO GRAVITY WON GAUNTLET FOR THE GOLD - LASTLY ELIMINATING BRISCOE BROTHERS
Zero Gravity continued to celebrate their victory as Jeremy Borash voice closed out the pre-show before telling everyone to join them live on Pay per View momentarily for TNA’s biggest event of the year TNA Bound for Glory 2005!
TNA TOTAL NON-STOP ACTION WRESTLING PRESENTS… TNA BOUD FOR GLORY 2005 – LIVE ON PAY PER VIEW!
The same video which kicked off the TNA Bound for Glory pre-show again opened the Pay per View looking back over the last year of some of the men competing on tonight’s card including AJ Styles, Chris Harris, Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels, Jeff Hardy, Sting, TNA T.V champion, CM Punk, Low Ki, Samoa Joe and TNA champion, James Storm! Video also included recorded comments from all men ending with James Storm telling Samoa Joe he would not allow Joe to take the TNA title from him before the video ended with footage from TNA IMPACT last night which went off the air with James Storm trapped in Samoa Joe’s Coquina clutch!
Fireworks went off around the arena as Jeremy Borash’s voice welcomed everyone to the biggest night of TNA’s year TNA Bound for Glory 2005. Borash now shown at ringside joined with announcers Mike Tenay & Don Callis all dressed in their best hyped tonight’s card, 9 matches all of which could headline any other TNA Pay per View. Borash noted that Tenay & Callis would call the action while ‘The Franchise’ Shane Douglas would be conducting pre and post-match interviews while noting that later tonight Borash would get to share TNA management’s huge announcement!
TIME LIMITS|
All TNA title matches will have a 30 minute time limit while all other matches will have a 20 minute time limit!
MATCH 4| INTERNATIONAL CHALLENGE| JUSHIN ‘THUNDER’ LIGER V NIGEL McGUINNESS| Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger came out first to a very loud and respectful reaction from the crowd. The Japanese legend was welcomed with Japanese flags being held up on the stage and once in the ring Liger was covered in streamers from the crowd and handed a bouquet of flowers by a Japanese ring girl. Liger the multi time IWGP Jnr-Heavyweight champion being shown great respect by TNA management and the fans in attendance. McGuinness the ‘British Hooligan’ was out next, was all business and showed Liger no respect.
Good opening match, good test for McGuinness who performed well during the TNA Championship Series and the Total Elimination match at TNA No Surrender. McGuinness targeted Liger’s left shoulder throughout the contest running Liger into the ring post outside of the ring to get the advantage. Liger looked good hitting McGuinness with a middle rope drop kick and coming close to the victory following an elevated DDT but Liger’s left shoulder hurt after every move and it ended up costing Liger after Liger went for a top rope hurricane-rona but McGuinness held on and Liger landed on his shoulder allowing McGuinness to pull Liger into the middle of the ring and trapping Liger in his London Dungeon and while Liger tried to fight the move he had no choice but to tap out. Huge win for Nigel McGuinness making the Japanese legend, Jushin ‘Thunder’ Liger tap out on the biggest stage of the year. RESULT| NIGEL McGUINNESS BEAT JUSHIN ‘THUNDER’ LIGER VIA TAP OUT
Nigel McGuinness spoke with TNA Reporter, Shane Douglas afterwards at the top of the ramp, McGuinness quickly told Douglas that people shouldn’t be surprised that he has just made ‘The Legend’ tap out! McGuinness doesn’t care about the past, doesn’t care about crowd reactions, every man is a target for Nigel McGuinness, McGuinness finished cryptically being saying “one man more than anybody else”.
Tenay & Callis congratulated Nigel McGuinness on his victory before wondering who McGuinness could be targeting next. Tenay and Callis quickly ran through tonight’s card while men competing in them matches including TNA Tag Team champions, GREATNESS (Austin Aries & Roderick Strong), Team 3D (Brother Devon & Brother Ray), Chris Sabin, Christopher Daniels, Chris Harris, AJ Styles, TNA T.V champion, CM Punk, Low Ki, Samoa Joe and TNA champion, James Storm were shown either backstage or arriving at the arena earlier today. Up next we would see the first ever Monsters Ball match…
Video aired looking at the history leading up to tonight’s Monsters Ball and it all revolves around Jim Mitchell. Jim Mitchell brought Abyss into TNA wrestling and together they dominated but after Abyss failed to end Sting’s career and lost to Low Ki in a Last Man Standing match. Mitchell decided that Abyss needed to be put down so turned to Chris Hero and Heroes for Villains. Abyss wouldn’t go down easily and worked his way through H4V before getting to face Chris Hero. Mitchell now frustrated with how long it was taking to “put down” Abyss turned to Rhino! Rhino attacked Abyss which led to a match between the two men, Abyss still couldn’t accept Jim Mitchell turning his back on him. During the Abyss/Rhino match, Chris Hero took things to a new level, wanting to prove that he was the devil and not Jim Mitchell and angry that Mitchell turned to Rhino, Hero attacked Jim Mitchell backstage caving Mitchell’s head in with a chain. Jim Mitchell has not been seen since. 24 hours ago Abyss, Hero and Rhino were locked in individual cages within the same room but before entering the cages a brawl between the 3 broke out…
Footage was shown from the last 24 hours of Abyss, Chris Hero and Rhino being locked within the same room in individual cages. Abyss was struggling to cope while Chris Hero sickly described to Abyss how it felt to smash in the skull of his Father figure Jim Mitchell…
MATCH 5| MONSTERS BALL| ABYSS V CHRIS HERO V RHINO| All 3 men were intent on killing each other, Abyss didn’t wait for the bell he just went for both men. Don Callis wished the match official luck controlling this match. Very quickly the 3 men were brawling at ringside and at one point even in the crowd. Dust bins and the ring steps were the first weapons used. Rhino was thrown into the wall in the crowd which left a huge dent at one point which allowed Abyss to have Chris Hero alone, Abyss was quick to pull out a table, a black bag which was likely full of tacks intent on hurting Hero. Abyss didn’t get Hero alone for long because Rhino returned and sent Abyss through a table with a Gore! Violence continued throughout the match Rhino later put Hero through a table at ringside with a spine buster before Abyss dropped Rhino on thousands of tacks with a Black Hole slam. Chris Hero’s chain came into play as did a barbwire board, Hero managed to catch Rhino with his roaring elbow with the chain wrapped around his arm knocking the “War Machine” out cold but Hero turned into a Black Hole slam from Abyss on to the barbwire board giving ‘The Monster’ Abyss the victory and some revenge over the men who have spent the last year trying to “put him down”. RESULT| ABYSS BEAT CHRIS HERO & RHINO VIA PIN FALL
Abyss rolled out of the ring with no celebration as TNA paramedics were in the ring checking on both Chris Hero and Rhino following one of the most violent matches in TNA history. TNA Reporter, Shane Douglas was standing by backstage with Jeff Jarrett…
Moments before the last wrestling match of his career Jeff Jarrett was asked by Shane Douglas whether after this match whatever the outcome would Jarrett be able to be professional towards Bobby Roode with his new role with TNA management. Jarrett told Douglas that he is not thinking about tomorrow at the minute, Jarrett is excited about the future and getting to help TNA grow but all Jarrett is focused on tonight is ending his in ring career on the highest note possible with a victory over Bobby Roode.
MATCH 6| RETIREMENT MATCH| JEFF JARRETT V BOBBY ROODE| Coming into tonight’s match despite Bobby Roode holding a victory over Jarrett during the TNA Championship Series, Jarrett is the man in form winning his last 3 matches while Roode has only won 1 of his last 5. Roode does have the better overall win rate of 52% to Jarrett’s 48% but Roode the former TNA T.V champion needs to improve if he wants to be challenging the best TNA has to offer.
Good wrestling match, complete 180 from the Monsters Ball previous. Fans were strongly behind the retiring former World champion hoping to see Jarrett go out with a victory. Roode was on form tonight with the world watching. Roode scored the first near fall following his block buster, Jarrett came back by countering Roode’s fisherman suplex by picking Roode’s leg and locking him in a figure four but Roode managed to make it to the ropes. Roode broke hearts again shortly after, Jarrett avoided Roode’s lariat to the back of the head and quickly dropped Roode with his Stroke which has won Jarrett many titles only for Roode to kick out at the last second! Jarrett couldn’t capitalise and shortly after fell victim to a spine buster from Roode before Roode finally put Jarrett away with his Fisherman suplex. RESULT| BOBBY ROODE BEAT JEFF JARRETT VIA PIN FALL
Following one of the most important victories of his career Bobby Roode spoke with TNA Reporter, Shane Douglas on the stage. Douglas asked Roode what was next for him, the world Roode answered saying he’s taking it all. Roode is the most calculated and dangerous man in the business and may not be tomorrow but some point Bobby Roode will stand alone at the top of TNA wrestling!
Jeff Jarrett was shown waving at the fans in the ring to a standing ovation from the crowd in attendance as Mike Tenay thanked Jarrett for his contributions to TNA wrestling before wishing Jarrett good luck in his new role with TNA management.
Video aired looking back over the history between Chris Sabin and Christopher Daniels leading to their match tonight. Back in February, Sabin was scheduled to defend his TNA T.V title against the first ever TNA champion but Daniels was on strike over not getting a TNA title shot so no showed the match which led to Sabin claiming Daniels had no balls! In July the TNA Championship Series kicked off with Sabin facing Daniels and Daniels humbled Sabin, not only did Daniels beat Sabin but left Sabin a bloody mess pretty much costing Sabin advancing in the TCS as it took Sabin weeks to fully recover. Instead of coming for revenge Sabin showed maturity and admitted his comments may have been out of line and wanted to earn the respect of Daniels and prove to everyone that Sabin belongs at the same level as the ‘Fallen Angel’. Tonight Sabin gets his chance but Daniels has made it clear tonight he is looking to hurt Sabin again to make sure Daniels is the talking point coming out of TNA Bound for Glory and in line for a future shot at the TNA championship…
MATCH 7| CHRIS SABIN V CHRISTOPHER DANIELS| While the record books show that Daniels and Sabin have faced 4 times with Sabin winning once that was via forfeit and when the two men have actually faced one another Daniels has won all 3 matches. Despite losing twice to Samoa Joe, Daniels the first ever TNA champion’s only loss in recent times has come at the hands of Sabin who pinned Daniels during the Total Elimination match at TNA No Surrender. Both Daniels and Sabin have won 43 matches during their time with TNA but Sabin has lost twice as many as Daniels and Daniels defeats have mostly come in multi man matches or tag matches. Only AJ Styles, James Storm, Low Ki and Samoa Joe have beat Daniels in singles competition over the last 3 plus years.
Really good match, it was clear early that Daniels was overlooking Sabin. Daniels has stated repeatedly that he should be in a higher profile match than facing Sabin but Sabin got Daniels’ attention with a hard slap across the face. Sabin matched Daniels throughout surprising and frustrating God’s gift to professional wrestling. Sabin putting in a big, star making performance tonight looking for the biggest win of his career on the biggest stage, knowing only the best beat Christopher Daniels. The two men exchanged a number of near falls Sabin came close after a tornado DDT and a Michinoku driver while Daniels tried putting Sabin away with his Last Rites and BME to no avail. Sabin hit his Hesitation drop kick and wanted his Cradle shock but Daniels countered quickly dropped Sabin and locked him in his Koji clutch which has made the best tap out including TNA champion, James Storm but Sabin again refusing to lose and showing great heart made his way to the bottom rope. Crowd were 100% behind Sabin but Sabin couldn’t his Cradle shock, Daniels always had a counter but then Sabin surprised everyone by countering Daniels’ Angels Wings with a northern light suplex which resulted in a heart stopping 2 count before Daniels finally managed to drop Sabin with his Angels Wings but unbelievably Chris Sabin kicked out! Arena erupted, the look on Daniels’ face was priceless. Sabin was beat but he was still crawling towards Daniels who immediately scooped Sabin up and spiked him with a second Angels Wings which Sabin had no chance of kicking out from. RESULT| CHRISTOPHER DANIELS BEAT CHRIS SABIN VIA PIN FALL
Great match where Chris Sabin showed that he truly belongs. Tenay reminded everyone that Sabin is only 23 years old and has his entire career in front of him. Chris Sabin earning everyone’s respect tonight but did he earn the respect of Christopher Daniels. Daniels was celebrating his victory when Sabin was helped to his feet. Sabin made his way into the middle of the ring as Daniels was about to leave and offered his hand to Daniels. Daniels stopped and met Sabin in the middle of the ring clearly thinking Sabin’s offer over but Daniels refused the handshakes, smirking at Sabin before turning and exiting the ring, leaving Sabin in the middle of the ring with a smirk on his face because Sabin knows he went up against one of the best in the world today and showed he belonged.
TNA Reporter, Shane Douglas was backstage with the TNA Tag Team champions, GREATNESS (Austin Aries & Roderick Strong) ahead of their title defence against one of the greatest and most decorated tag teams off all time, Team 3D (Brother Devon & Brother Ray). Aries repeated what GREATNESS said last night on TNA IMPACT that they cannot and will not allow Team 3D just to walk in and take the TNA Tag Team titles, Aries told Team 3D that the bar has been risen and Team 3D are not the greatest team alive anymore!
MATCH 8| TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP| © GREATNESS (AUSTIN ARIES & RODERICK STRONG) V TEAM 3D (BROTHER DEVON & BROTHER RAY)| Fans were behind both teams, both coming out to huge ovations. Before the bell the two teams faced off in the middle of the ring which added to the big match atmosphere in the arena. Huge match two of the best teams in the business today facing off for the first time for the right to be the TNA Tag Team champions. Could Team 3D win the TNA Tag Team titles in their first match with the company! Mike Tenay reminded everyone that due to their victory earlier tonight Zero Gravity are the top contenders to the TNA Tag Team titles but could only get their title shot once GREATNESS have lost the titles.
Great match, the atmosphere helped but do did the match being such a 50:50 contest. Both teams put it all on the line both desperate to come out of TNA Bound for Glory as the TNA Tag Team champions. GREATNESS controlled early using their speed but the size advantage of Team 3D allowed them to take over. Team 3D did well to isolate Aries, cutting him off from tagging in his partner Roderick Strong. A part from a one month reign by Zero Gravity, Aries & Strong have held the TNA Tag Team titles since September last year. After Brother Ray missed a senton of the middle rope Aries was able to tag out and not long after both teams started hitting their big moves looking for the victory.
Team 3D hit Strong with a reverse 3D after Strong couldn’t lift Ray for a Gut buster but Strong kicked out, shortly after Ray came close again after catching Strong with his Brother Bomb. GREATNESS came right back and after Aries caught Ray with a roaring elbow which Strong followed up with his running kick, Aries caught Ray with a 450 splash which would have taken the match only for Devon to safe his brother at the last second. Team 3D had Aries set up for their 3D but Strong pulled Aries to safety so they couldn’t hit their move but they shortly after dropped Strong with the Doomsday Device but this time Aries saved Strong. Team 3D were starting to take control. Team 3D had Aries down for their “Wasssup” only for Strong to push Devon off the top rope into the ring, Ray ran at Strong only for Strong to drop down bringing the top rope with him which sent Ray flying over the top rope and Aries immediately caught Ray with a middle/bottom rope suicide dive before quickly re-entering the ring to drill Devon with a running drop kick in the corner before Strong smashed Devon with a Gut buster and Aries impressively spiked Devon with a Brain buster for the victory! GREATNESS did it, GREATNESS retain their TNA Tag Team titles. RESULT| GREATNESS BEAT TEAM 3D VIA PIN FALL – GREATNESS RETAIN TNA TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP
GREATNESS both Aries & Strong collapsed in the middle of the ring after hearing the ring bell. Fans were on their feet as the announcers praised the match especially the closing stretch from GREATNESS after Strong saved Aries. Brother Ray just fell short of breaking up the pin fall attempt. Aries & Strong were handed their TNA Tag Team titles and slowly got back to their feet as Team 3D regrouped on the outside of the ring. Don Callis said as great as Team 3D thought they were, they found out tonight they are not GREATNESS! Bad news for Zero Gravity who will have to wait for their opportunity at the TNA Tag Team titles. GREATNESS continued to celebrate with their TNA Tag Team titles as a video package played hyping the next match of the evening pitting Jeff Hardy against ‘The Icon’ Sting in a Dream match…
Jeff Hardy grew up a fan of Sting and was delighted to hear that he would get to face his hero on the biggest stage of TNA’s year TNA Bound for Glory but at the press conference to make the match official as Hardy describes it, Sting verbally hit Hardy in the stomach with a baseball bat when Sting questioned Hardy’s heart. Footage was shown of Hardy tapping out over the last couple of months to the likes of Chris Harris, Christopher Daniels and Samoa Joe. Hardy convinced himself that Sting was playing mind games ahead of their match but Sting told Hardy that he said what he did to Hardy to motive Hardy claiming that Hardy is living of his reputation built somewhere else and told Hardy he has not proved anything yet here in TNA Wrestling. Sting proved himself now Hardy has to do the same. Hardy calls tonight’s match a must win match now based on Sting’s comments but Sting has told Hardy he won’t win…
MATCH 9| STING V JEFF HARDY| Sting and Jeff Hardy both have a win rate around the 70% mark with Sting’s rate a little higher but Sting in singles competition has only been defeated by former TNA champions, Chris Harris and Christopher Daniels while Hardy apart from a victory over CM Punk at last year’s TNA Bound for Glory has come up short in recent high profile matches against the likes of James Storm, AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Chris Harris and Samoa Joe when a lot was expected of Hardy by TNA management.
Hardy putting aside the fact that he grew up idolising Sting was all over Sting at the bell bringing the fight to ‘The Icon’, Sting was on the back foot and Hardy wouldn’t let up even following Sting out of the ring to continue the fight. Sting’s words had clearly lit a fire under Hardy tonight. The two ended up having a really entertaining match more of a brawl than people would have thought going in. Hardy missed a Swanton Bomb early and Sting targeted the back at every opportunity after. Sting scored a great near fall after missing a Stinger splash, Hardy wanted his Twist of Fate but as Hardy spun Sting grabbed Hardy and planted him with his Scorpion Death drop. Sting and Hardy exchanged big moves Hardy caught Sting with his Whisper in the Wind while Sting dropped Hardy with a top rope suplex. Sting managed to catch Hardy coming off the ropes and lock Hardy in his Scorpion Death lock, Hardy was on the verge of tapping but unlike in recent matches Hardy fought off the temptation and made it to the bottom rope even after Sting had pulled Hardy away on the first occasion. Hardy showing the heart tonight that Sting questioned. Tenay wondered whether Sting was questioning how to beat Hardy. Hardy got back into the match and nailed Sting with his Twist of Fate before catching Sting with his Swanton Bomb but at the last second Sting managed to get his leg on the bottom rope, saving the match. Hardy thought it was over and argued the decision with the match official which turned out to be Hardy’s downfall as Sting surprised Hardy with a jack knife roll up for the 3 count when Hardy turned around. RESULT| STING BEAT JEFF HARDY VIA PIN FALL
Jeff Hardy just sat in shock at first before his head dropped in between his legs as Sting had his hand raised in victory by the match official. Mike Tenay said Hardy had nothing to be ashamed of in defeat tonight putting on a great effort against one of the greatest of all time. Don Callis agreed with Sting’s comments in the build up to this match that maybe Hardy will use this result as a wakeup call and kick on from him here. Sting waited for Hardy to get back to his feet and the two men exchanged words in the middle of the ring, the only thing which was clear was Sting telling Hardy he does have heart. Sting and Hardy hugged in the middle of the ring before Sting raised Hardy’s arm before leaving the ring allowing Hardy to take in the respectful ovation from his fans.
Mike Tenay and Don Callis reminded everyone that still tonight we would hear a big announcement from TNA management plus former TNA champions, AJ Styles and Chris Harris face off in a battle to see who is the true face of TNA wrestling as well as tonight’s Main Event where TNA champion, James Storm defends the TNA title against the undefeated, top contender, winner of the 2005 TNA Championship Series, Samoa Joe but up next CM Punk defends his TNA T.V title against former TNA champion, Low Ki who is looking for revenge against CM Punk for costing Ki the TNA title in what is being described as the biggest match of CM Punk’s career.
MATCH 10| TNA T.V CHAMPIONSHIP| © CM PUNK V LOW KI| Low Ki had his back broken by ‘The Monster’ Abyss in July 2003 and was out of action for over a year, many thought Low Ki’s career was over but the former TNA champion not only managed to return but return better than ever earning himself a shot at the TNA championship only to get caught in CM Punk’s crossfire. Punk felt screwed over again by TNA management and James Storm and vowed as revenge he would cost Storm the TNA title and Punk attempted too only for Low Ki to stop Punk which came back to haunt Low Ki because CM Punk could not resist then costing Low Ki the TNA title by spiking Low Ki with his Pepsi Plunge.
While tonight’s match is centred around Low Ki getting revenge on CM Punk it is also being regarded as many as the biggest and most important match of CM Punk’s career because many believe Punk cannot take such another high profile defeat. CM Punk is the reigning TNA T.V champion and holds victories over the likes of Raven in a Last Man Standing match and AJ Styles but when it matters most Punk has failed more times than not. Punk has twice challenged for the TNA title unsuccessfully has failed to win both 2003 Gauntlet for the Gold and the 2004 TNA Championship Series and lost two high profile matches to AJ Styles one a Steel Cage match and the second a match which meant Punk could not challenge for the TNA title in 2005 and CM Punk’s claims that he will go down in history as the greatest professional wrestler off all time. The ultimate revenge for Low Ki tonight would be to take the TNA T.V title from Punk leaving the ‘Second City Saint’ with nothing. AJ Styles and Christopher Daniels are the only men who have previously beaten Low Ki in singles competition.
A night of great action but this may have been the best match of them all, Low Ki was desperate for revenge while Punk was desperate to prove he belonged on the same level as Low Ki at the top of TNA wrestling. Tenay and Callis agreed that this was the biggest TNA T.V title match in history and it was all Low Ki early. Low Ki was putting a beating on Punk capped off with a mushroom stomp on Punk at ringside from the ring apron. Punk hit the ringside floor hard and was almost counted out. Low Ki was all over Punk really putting a beating on Punk to the point where it seemed the match official was considering calling the match off until Punk cut Low Ki off when going for a springboard move before running Low Ki off the ring apron sending Ki crashing back first into the security railings. Punk potentially re-injuring Low Ki’s back allowed Punk back into the match. This time it was Low Ki’s turn to just about make it back into the ring on time. Punk couldn’t put Low Ki away he came close after a shining wizard and even closer following an Even flow DDT but Low Ki refused to be beat by Punk. Low Ki came close himself following his Ki Krusher first, a mushroom stomp next and finally his Tidal Wave springboard round house kick but Punk wouldn’t stay down either. Both men were exhausted and running out of ideas when Low Ki caught Punk in his triangle choke the same move Low Ki actually made Abyss tap out to previously but before Low Ki could lock the move in Punk lifted Punk and blocked the choke by power bombing Low Ki into the top turnbuckle before rocking Low Ki in the corner with a running high knee before spiking Low Ki with his Pepsi Plunge (Pedigree) for the most important victory of CM Punk’s career. Crowd were in shock, CM Punk had beaten Low Ki! CM Punk is still the TNA T.V champion. RESULT| CM PUNK BEAT LOW KI VIA PIN FALL – CM PUNK RETAINS TNA T.V CHAMPIONSHIP
CM Punk just rolled off Low Ki’s body, both men beaten up after their war here tonight. Punk had his TNA T.V title placed on his chest but as Mike Tenay noted as prestigious as the TNA T.V title is this victory means more to Punk than retaining the TNA T.V title. Punk has done something tonight that only 2 men have done previously and both former TNA champions. CM Punk tonight without any doubt has shown that he belongs at the top of TNA wrestling and it may just be true that we are all living in CM Punk’s world!
Both CM Punk and Low Ki were helped from ringside by TNA officials as Mike Tenay and Don Callis praised the efforts of both men before turning their attention to tonight’s next match pitting former TNA champion, AJ Styles against another former TNA champion, Chris Harris in a battle to find out who truly is the face of TNA wrestling.
Recorded comments from both AJ Styles and Chris Harris aired with Chris Harris claiming that he is the face of TNA wrestling noting how he was the longest reigning TNA champion and how he defended the TNA title more than any other champion. Harris also beat AJ Styles to become the first TNA champion. AJ said for him it’s not about being called the face of TNA wrestling, AJ has never called himself that if the fans do, AJ said that’s great and a true honour but AJ’s match with Harris for him is all about righting a wrong, the wrong being Chris Harris taking the TNA title from him back in early 2004. Once AJ has done that he can once again focus fully on regaining the TNA championship.
MATCH 11| AJ STYLES V CHRIS HARRIS| AJ Styles and Chris Harris’ records are very similar both have a 74% win rate, both have wrestled a similar amount of matches both over 60 and have won a similar amount of matches too. Both men have won a Gauntlet for the Gold match and more importantly both men are former TNA champions but Chris Harris has beat AJ Styles while AJ in two attempts has never beat Chris Harris with their second match going to a time limit draw.
AJ admits that he lost focus after losing the TNA title to Harris due to CM Punk’s interference and did not accept losing the title until losing to James Storm at TNA Slammiversary in June the clean loss actually gave AJ peace of mind. Since then AJ has been home spending some much needed time with his family, with tonight being his first match back.
Really good match between two of TNA’s best, two men who are hungry to once again wear the TNA title. AJ looked great in his first match back while Harris was full of confidence too following his victory in the Main Event of the last TNA Pay per View, TNA No Surrender where Harris won the Total Elimination match. AJ scored the first near fall following his springboard forearm, AJ tried the move again later in the match only to be caught in mid-air by a Spear from Harris but AJ luckily for him managed to pop a shoulder up at the last second. Harris’ Catatonic also proved to be unsuccessful as did a brain buster from Styles. Eventually Harris was looking for his Texas cloverleaf when AJ countered with a hurricane-rona from his back before leap frogging another Spear attempt from Harris, AJ then caught Harris with his Pele kick before smashing Harris with a Styles Clash for the victory. AJ Styles is back and worryingly for the rest of the TNA wrestling is looking better than ever. AJ Styles with a clear mind is genuine threat to the TNA title. Fans were delighted with the outcome as the man they see as the face of TNA wrestling the ‘Phenomenal One’ AJ Styles was victorious. RESULT| AJ STYLES BEAT CHRIS HARRIS VIA PIN FALL
SUNDAY 13TH NOVEMEBER 2005| TNA125 LIVE ON PAY PER VIEW!
Jeremy Borash was now in the middle of the ring ready to share TNA management’s big announcement, also in the ring were two small podiums with a red cloth covering the objects on both podiums. Borash noted how with the move to SPIKE T.V, TNA management took the time during the “shutdown” to get together and discuss ways of improving TNA wrestling, wanting to make sure that they bring the fans the best possible product every week. One thing that TNA management decided was that they want the biggest and strongest roster as possible regardless of look, size, style and experience believing this will bring the best out of everyone on the roster, having to really compete for the lucrative top spots in the company but TNA management decided that the bigger/stronger roster needs something to fight for. So Borash was proud to reveal that TNA was introducing two new Championships! The TNA Heavyweight title and the TNA Jnr-Heavyweight title! Both titles will be treated with equal respect, TNA management will expect the title matches to be able to headline Pay per Views. Borash noted that 220lbs was the cut off for the Jnr-Heavyweight title and anything above would be able to compete for the TNA Heavyweight title! TNA wrestlers have until TNA125 to register what division they would like to be a part of to begin with then an announcement will be made regarding crowning the first ever TNA Heavyweight and TNA Jnr-Heavyweight champions! Borash had removed the red cloths and both titles were proudly on show as the announcers discussed the huge news about the addition of the new TNA titles. Tenay noting that this is just the beginning of the changes that TNA management have promised to implement with the move to SPIKE T.V.
Video played hyping tonight’s Main Event between James Storm and Samoa Joe for the TNA championship. Storm the ‘Tennessee Cowboy’ won the TNA title at TNA Bound for Glory last year beating long-time rival Chris Harris. Since winning the TNA title, Storm has been a fighting champion beating the likes of Jeff Hardy, Christopher Daniels, AJ Styles, Chris Harris and CM Punk. However tonight Storm may be facing his toughest challenge yet, the undefeated Samoa Joe, the winner of the 2005 TNA Championship Series. Joe debuted in June and has a 100% win record beating the likes of Chris Sabin, Chris Harris, Jeff Hardy and Christopher Daniels twice on his way to victory. Who will leave TNA Bound for Glory tonight as the TNA champion? Will James Storm TNA title reign come to an end or will Samoa Joe be defeated for the very first time!
Footage was shown from TNA IMPACT last night on SPIKE T.V and the final confrontation between James Storm and Samoa Joe which saw Joe give Storm a bloody nose with a head butt only for Storm to retaliate with his Last Call super kick only for Joe to rise up behind Storm and lock Storm in his Coquina clutch and TNA IMPACT went off the air with TNA officials trying to free Storm from Joe’s grip. Tenay noted that throughout the night Shane Douglas has spoken with both champion and challenger….
TNA champion, James Storm spoke with Shane Douglas earlier today it was noticeable that Storm was wearing shades to cover his eyes from Joe’s head butt last night. Douglas asked Storm how he was feeling heading into tonight’s match especially after what happened last night on TNA IMPACT. Storm is ready for tonight because Storm knows what needs to happen on a stage like TNA Bound for Glory telling Joe that when Joe walks out tonight and feels the atmosphere and it hits him that tonight is the biggest night of his life then Joe will not be able to swim in them waters. Douglas asked Storm if the undefeated Joe was Storm’s toughest title defence. Storm laughed before telling Douglas to go and ask AJ Styles that question or Christopher Daniels or Low Ki. Storm told Douglas that tonight he leaves still the TNA champion before telling Douglas that James Storm is the biggest threat to Samoa Joe’s undefeated streak….
Later Shane Douglas spoke with Samoa Joe the top contender to the TNA title and Douglas repeated Storm’s comments too Joe telling Joe that Storm questions’ Joe being able to cope with the pressure of a TNA Bound for Glory Main Event before asking Joe whether James Storm is the biggest threat to Joe’s undefeated streak. Joe doesn’t care if there is 1 person watching or a million people watching the fact remains one on one man on man, no man can stop Samoa Joe and whether James Storm is the biggest threat to his undefeated streak, Joe admitted that so far Storm probably is but that doesn’t mean James Storm is a threat. Tonight Samoa Joe becomes the new TNA champion!
MATCH 12| MAIN EVENT| TNA CHAMPIONSHIP| © JAMES STORM V SAMOA JOE| both men entered to great ovations, while Joe doesn’t care about crowd reaction the crowd react to Joe due to his aura, knowing that he is a special talent. Once Storm took his shades off you could see Storm had two black eyes from Joe’s head butt on TNA IMPACT. Don Callis again before the bell predicted that Samoa Joe would be leaving tonight as the new TNA champion and everything that happened on TNA IMPACT last night just confirmed Callis’ thoughts before asking how Storm must be feeling tonight after Joe got back to his feet so quickly following his Super Kick!
Storm was a lot more cautious than we had ever seen him before while Joe looked as relaxed as always in the early going there was no evidence at all of Joe being nervous in such a prime position. On a night where we had seen a number of close competitive matches it was surreal to see such a one sided Main Event, especially on the biggest stage of the year. Samoa Joe just dominated the contest, Storm tried staying in the match and hurting Joe but with no luck at no real point did Storm have Joe in trouble and it seemed just a matter of time before Joe took the TNA title from James Storm. At times Joe was even toying with Storm also Storm had to convince the match official not to call the match off at one point. Tenay gave Storm all the credit in the world for trying to stay in the match but Storm had no answer for Joe while Joe was blocking, countering or avoiding anything Storm threw at him.
At one point out of desperation Storm just attempted a Super kick and Joe just stepped to the side as Storm slumped to the mat, it was a sad sight and Storm’s fans were in complete shock. Joe finally put Storm out of his misery and after smashing Storm with a Muscle Buster in the middle of the ring we had a brand new TNA champion! RESULT| SAMOA JOE BEAT JAMES STORM VIA PIN FALL TO BECOME THE NEW TNA CHAMPION
Following the bell some of the crowd were in shock while others were going crazy after an unbelievable dominant performance from Samoa Joe who now is not only undefeated but also the new TNA champion! Joe on his knees seemed to look down at the fallen former TNA champion in disgust while being handed his TNA title by the match official and after having his hand raised in victory and quickly raising the TNA title high above his head Joe rolled out of the ring as if it was just another night at the office.
Mike Tenay and Don Callis questioned who could realistically challenge Samoa Joe for the TNA championship as James Storm was shown on his knees clutching at the match official’s legs seemingly not accepting that the match was over, Tenay said Storm didn’t know where he was as the match official called for assistance. TNA Bound for Glory went off the air as cameras followed the new TNA champion Samoa Joe back up the ramp, Joe ignored the fireworks going off in the arena and didn’t look back once as the biggest show of the year went off the air.
