"Best of the Best" is shaping up to be quite a cool-looking tournament. I'd love to see an underdog wrestler climb up the ranks and pull of the win, but that's just wishful thinking. Also, I'm interested in seeing who Christopher Daniels chooses as his protégé.

Best of the Best should be good. I can honestly see Ace getting out of Block B and getting at least to the semis. The show was pretty good. Can't wait to see who Daniels picks for his protege. Good to see Rev X pick up two big wins here.

Be the Best: Night 1The show started with Christopher Daniels walking to the ring in casual jeans and a shirt. He said he came out to introduce all sixteen competitors in the ‘Be the Best 2010.’ One by one each wrestler came out, both Hart and Bockwinkel brought out their titles with them. When the last wrestler, Red Dragon (getting a great ovation) came out Bockwinkel clapped sarcastically. They went face to face before others pulled them apart. Everyone gathered around the Be the Best trophy to get a group photograph, in the back Cody made rabbit years over Chris Hammers getting a laugh from the crowd. 1) BLOCK A: X Jack vs. Red Dragon: Strangely both men left after photos and made official entrances to this match. As the bell rung Dragon offered a handshake and Jack accepted. Jack went on an ariel route to try to defeat the popular Dragon but failed as he was caught in the Red Dragon Driver for the three count. After the match Dragon held the hand out to Jack to help him up. Jack accepted and the two posed for the crowd. Red Dragon advances and faces the winner of the next match. 2) BLOCK A: Jordan Devine vs. Daniel Sinn: A good match but not quite as good as the previous match. Devine was in control keeping the Lady Killer grounded. With the fans on his side Sinn mounted a comeback even hitting a spike DDT for a close count. But after distraction from Amy Lee on the outside Jordan hit the Devinity for the win. This would mean that Jordan Devine will face Red Dragon tomorrow night in the next round. Backstage we are introduced to ‘Starman’ Tommy Stardust. He says he’s going to take Bennett on an intergalactic trip around the solar system then arrive back on earth just in time for the 3-count. 3) BLOCK B: Ace Bennett vs. ‘Starman’ Tommy Stardust: Many of the fans were unfamiliar with Stardust who was representing Kings Wrestling Corporation. He put up a good fight against SNW’s 2010 Best Wrestler but everyone knew he wasn’t going to win. Bennett hit the Syracuse Dropped to advance. We go backstage again to the second Kings Wrestling Corporation participant in the Be the Best 2010. This time it is A.J Matthews. A.J cuts a great promo on how he and his opponent are commonly known as tag team wrestlers but tonight they go out alone. He says he is the underdog with less experience but that isn’t going to stop him winning the competition. 4) BLOCK B: Drew Parkland vs. A.J Matthews: A surprisingly awesome match to lead us into Intermission. The 20 year old from KWC looking incredibly impressive with an aggression that cannot be matched. The match was very physical going back and forth between both competitors. In an amazing display of pure strength A.J countered the Confederacy Choke into his finisher ‘Eastern Execution’ which is a stalling suplex onto a single knee. Intermission. The ring announcer gave the crowd a recap of tonight’s action. In the next round Twin City Wrestling’s Red Dragon will be facing Jordan Devine meanwhile Ace Bennett will be facing Kings Wrestling Corporation’s A.J Matthews. The last outsider Tyler Moxley from Twin City Wrestling will compete in tonight’s main event looking to advance to the next round. 5) BLOCK C: Kevin Hart vs. Mike Bockwinkel: What a great match between two SNW champions. Bockwinkel has been looking to establish himself as SNW’s greatest tag team as the Gentlemen’s Club recently but tonight he focused on singles action. The best match of the night and could enter into the top 25 SNW matches ever. Hart fell short after missing the 450 Splash and getting hit by the Bockwinkel Special: Championship Edition. After Bockwinkel left Hart received a standing ovation for his efforts. Bockwinkel advances to the next round against the winner of this next match. Backstage we see Cody Rejaro, he explains he got into this tournament. Cody (apparently) traded in his most prized possession, a limited edition 1999 Pepsi can for the chance to compete in the tournament. Cody said he would avenge his previous loss to ‘The Hammer’ tonight! 6) BLOCK C: Chris Hammers vs. Cody Rejaro: Hammers came to the ring and claimed he had sprained his ankle in training and thus wouldn’t be able to compete for the next two days. Cody gets a bye to the next round and faces Mike Bockinkel tomorrow night. However... Hammers said that he begged for a replacement but was refused. So instead he arranged his own special match. Safu and LyNN walked down to the ring and Cody was cornered. Cody jumped over the guardrail but was pulled back by Safu who beat him to a pulp. Backstage we see Twin Cities Wrestling, Age of the Dammed leader Tyler Moxley. He says how it should be an honour to main event an SNW show but he doesn’t look at it that way. He sees SCW as an inferior promotion to TCW and said he will show that in the main event tonight. 7) BLOCK D: Jack Powers vs. Mike Hogan: These two have faced off many times before however the reasoning behind the previous matches was to test Hogan with the much more experienced Powers. Like the previous matches these two have shared this match was top class, almost as good as Bockwinkel/Hart from earlier in the night. Powers injury from Riot Act 3 looked to have cost him the match as Hogan landed on his feet from the Power Suplex and hit the Futurism for the shock win! This shock win means Hogan advances through to the next round to face the winner of this next match. 8) BLOCK D: Evan Pagano vs. Tyler Moxley: A great match to top off the night, Pagano pulled off the face roll perfectly while Moxley had the crowd hating him early on as he grabbed the mic before the bell rung. Pagano and Moxley have a similar build which made for an interesting contest. Although not the best wrestled match on the card the crowd was very into this. Pagano drilled the Calling with extra force to get the win to face Mike Hogan tomorrow night. ------------------------------- Kinda a big show and so is Night 2. I didn't expect it to be this long but I had a lot to write about and have lots of promos. And as usual I got carried awaySpecial thanks to Jack and Mike who gave me permission to use King's Wrestling Corporation and Twin City Wrestling wresters in these two shows.

Another good show. Awesome to see Ace advance, could see Matthews posing a challenge in the next. Wasn't really surprised with any of the winners, except for Rejero, I would be surprised if he got past Bockwinkel though. I'm strangely looking forward to Pagano/Hogan the most for some reason. The FUSE title match should be awesome. Keep it up.

Holy crap I moved on! This a victory for the record books. Don't see me getting past Bockwinkel though unless its by interference of some kind, but I don't see that happening. Lol at me trading in a 1999 Pepsi can to be in the tournament. Good show.

Be the Best: Night 2Strangely, we start off the night backstage with Twin Cities Wrestling’s, Red Dragon. He explains how respect and honour is important in his lifestyle and how he has found it in SCW. We then cut to another backstage area where Jordan Devine is. Devine comments that with Hammers out he is representing Revolution X alone, ‘I will not let them down.’ 1) BLOCK A: Red Dragon vs. Jordan Devine: Dragon got another great ovation making his way out to the ring. A great technical lesson from both men as they traded hold for hold. Devine’s ankle lock looked like it would spell the end for TCW and Red Dragon but he prevailed and locked in the Welsh Death Lock for a win by submission. Backstage again and Ace Bennett tells us this is his chance to finally get Quackenbush on-on-one and when he does he will be crowned ‘the new SNW World Champion.’ King Wrestling Corporation’s A.J Matthews speaks about the support he has had from the fans. 2) BLOCK B: Ace Bennett vs. A.J Matthews: Another great match from Matthews who is rapidly getting one popular wrestler. Although primarily a tag team wrestler A.J is great both in singles and tag teams. Bennett served to be the perfect opponent for A.J as he can put a great match with anyone body. Matthews aggression wasn’t enough to put the Best Wrestler 2010 away as Ace hit the Syracuse Dropped to advance. As A.J left he got a ‘Please come back’ chant, maybe we’ll see him again. One half of the Duos Champions, Mike Bockwinkel was backstage. Bockwinkel said that he is saddened to learn that Chris Hammers was unable to compete as he would have loved to face (and defeat) him. Bockwinkel said that he would avenge his earlier loses against Quackenbush by winning ‘Be the Best’ and defeating Quack for the title. Cody Rejaro (looking worse for wear) said he has been given a golden opportunity which he will not let go, he promised selling his Pepsi can was worth it. 3) BLOCK C: Mike Bockwinkel vs. Cody Rejaro: Before the match in a comedy moment, Bockwinkel grabbed the mic to reveal he bought Cody’s prized Pepsi Can. Bockwinkel then opened the vintage Pepsi can and poured it on the floor. This fired up Cody who was on a roll for the start of the match. Bockwinkel stopped the momentum with a standing dropkick then got the win with a Bockwinkel Special: Championship Edition. Mike Hogan is now backstage and says that after last night he has a new respect for the SNW fans and he’ll show that tonight. Pagano is at another location, he tells everyone that he ‘must’ advance because he ‘must’ be the next SNW World Champion. 4) BLOCK D: Mike Hogan vs. Evan Pagano: Another great match in the Quarter-finals although not quite as good as A.J/Ace. The match was very fast paced with both men getting equal offence. Hogan’s missile dropkick was turned beautifully into a boston crab but Hogan refused to submit. Pagano tried to hit the Calling but Hogan battled back and hit the Futurism for another big win! After the match the fans clapped loudly for Hogan’s underdog struggle. As he was in the ring, Christopher Daniels came out to show his support for Hogan. After Hogan left, Pagano was devastated at losing. Intermission. The announcer told us the semi final matches for tonight which will be up next. Twin Cities Wrestling’s Red Dragon will face one half of the Duos Champions, Mike Bockwinkel. SNW Wrestler of the Year 2010, Ace Bennett will face the man who has already scored two shock wins in the tournament, Mike Hogan. Ace Bennett was backstage, he says he’s not worried about Hogan. Although Hogan has had two big wins over Powers and Pagano it still doesn’t worry him. Ace said he’ll be like all the rest, just a stepping stone in Bennett’s path to the SNW World Title. Mike Hogan was in another area backstage, he said that previous SNW tournaments have launched the careers of lesser known stars and tonight the ‘Be the Best’ has done the same to him. Tonight, win or lose Hogan will walk out with the fans cheering his name. 5) SEMI FINALS: Ace Bennett vs. Mike Hogan: Another top notch match from SNW. This is quickly becoming SNW’s best show with all these amazing matches. Everybody knew that these two would put on a great match as their quite similar. The fans were completely behind Hogan who showed a complete face turn in this match. Ace hit the Syracuse Dropped and the fans thought it was over but Hogan kicked out! Bennett was going crazy, he didn’t know what to do. The action went back and forth before Bennett pulled out a small package for the victory. After Bennett had left, Hogan lay exhausted in the ring. As he predicted the fans were cheering his name. As he was about to leave the ring ‘Disposable Teens’ played and Christopher Daniels walked out. Daniels entered the ring, paused then raised Hogan’s arm. Hogan smiled back and the two left together. Twin City Wrestling’s Red Dragon was backstage. He mentioned that he and his opponent, Mike Bockwinkel have a lot of history. He says he won’t hold the past against him and will just focus on the present, tonight. Bockwinkel was at another backstage location, Bockwinkel said that he’s been given the easy task of beating the masked jobber tonight. He called the tournament a joke as all he has to do is beat Dragon. 6) SEMI FINALS: Red Dragon vs. Mike Bockwinkel: Right at the start of the match Dragon extended the hand, Bockwinkel obviously didn’t accept and slapped him in the face. At first Bock wasn’t taking Dragon seriously but after some mat wrestling Mike decided to take his opponent more seriously. There was a little bit of everything in this match; lots of submissions, hard strikes and a suicide dive into the audience by Dragon. In the closing minutes (coming close to the 30 minute time limit) Bock took complete control, it seemed like Dragon had nothing left in him. Bock took his time setting up the Bockwinkel Special: Championship Edition and it led to a quick Red Dragon Driver for the 3-count! Dragon quickly rolled to the outside and Bockwinkel was shocked! A dazed Mike Bockwinkel demanded the referee to restart the match. Dragon stumbled his way out of the arena but you could see a wide smile coming from underneath Dragon’s mask. 7) FUSE Title: Kevin Hart vs. X Jack vs. ‘Stardust’ Tommy Starman (KWC) vs. Tyler Moxley (TCW): This match was used so Dragon and Ace could rest before the main event. Some of the fans took this opportunity as a break before the main event. Unlike the previous matches this didn’t have much story telling just load of cool spots combined into a match which was a good thing as it gave the fans a break. Hart retained with a 450 on Starman then straight into a Sharpshooter on Moxley. The final backstage promos of the night were conducted as Ace Bennett was still in shock about Hogan putting up so much of a fight and kicking out of the Syracuse Dropped. Meanwhile Dragon was entirely focused on the match. 8) FINAL: Ace Bennett vs. Red Dragon: Did anyone ever think that these two would put on such an amazing match after already battling through 2 matches tonight. The first period of the match contained lots of matt work and Dragon nearly making Ace tap with a triangle lock. Bennett fought back and the match turned to strikes which Dragon won. Bennett hit an amazing counter, catching a high kick and rolling it into an Achilles lock. Still Dragon battled on. The action went to the outside where Dragon attempted his suicide dive only for Bennett to dive out the way sending Dragon crashing into the empty chairs of the audience. Back in the ring Bennett wore down Dragon but still was unable to put him away. Bennett decided to end it with the Syracuse Dropped but Dragon turned it into a high angled top rope powerbomb! Dragon took too long making the cover and Ace kicked out. The action continued until Ace decided to go for a second Syracuse Dropped. This time it hit but Dragon kicked out! Exhausted the two somehow managed to battle on until Dragon got Ace on his shoulders for the Red Dragon Driver. Then Mike Bockwinkel walks to the ring and grabs the trophy! The referee then took it off him and returned it but this was only a distraction for Bock to enter the ring and hit Dragon with his Duos title. Bennett then rolled off the shoulders into a school boy. The referee returned to the ring with Bock now on the outside to make the count. Bockwinkel slowly walked to the back, keeping his eyes fixated on Dragon as he left. Meanwhile the referee presented Ace Bennett with the Be the Best trophy 2010. Bennett was hardly able to stand after such a physical match. No doubt this night will go down as one of the best in SNW history. ------------------------------------------- Thanks again to Mike and Jack who gave me permission to use King's Wrestling Corporation and Twin City Wrestling wresters in these two shows.

BREAKING NEWSSNW has posted two important videos on their website. They concern the Dragon/Bockwinkel feud which is expected to be a long drawn out blood feud. SNW are already predicting ‘Be the Best’ to be one of their most successful DVD sales ever thanks to the high quality of matches on display. Below are the videos. --------------------- Red Dragon is standing in the arena where ‘Be the Best’ was held. The video is filmed around half an hour after the event finished. Other wrestlers and staff are shown in the background pulling down the ring and set. Dragon has a Pro Wrestling NOAH T-shirt and still has is mask on but you can see the anger behind the mask.Dragon: Bockwinkel you sure as hell don’t understand what you’ve gotten yourself into. Winning ‘Be the Best’ meant everything to me. Not only would I get a spot on the SNW roster, not only would I get a shot at the World title but I would have represented Twin City Wrestling proudly. I thought you of all people would have understood. But now I understand. Right at the beginning of our match I offered you to shake my hand. I would have left everything that happened in the past be in the past but no. You didn’t shake my hand. You slapped me across the face. That dishonour, that disrespect... (Dragon cuts off and turns away. He calms himself down then continues) Just know this Bockwinkel, I will do everything EVERYTHING in my power to get back in SNW... and get back at you. Mike Bockwinkel is in a luxurious hotel room. He seems pretty relaxed. He is wearing an expensive T-Shirt and his sunglasses rest on top of his blonde locks.Bockwinkel: I have been informed by SNW that Red Dragon has commented on my actions at ‘Be the Best.’ And now I have been asked by SNW to reply. Usually I will stay far away from this internet community fad but nevertheless I felt obliged to comment. If I had one word to sum up Red Dragon it would be hypocrite. Dragon likes to preach about the importance honour and respect. How these qualities should be applied to wrestling such as honouring your opponent and respecting the official’s decision. However what Dragon is doing now is going against his word. He is whining and complaining and shouting off rooftops about how he got ‘screwed.’ Well Dragon, you did get screwed. And best of all, I enjoyed every minute of it. Why? Because I got screwed as well. I got eliminated but I didn’t cry to my little internet buddies. I did the right thing, I got even. You took my shot away, so I took yours. Simple...as...that. So you try to get back in SNW Dragon, you just try. Because I’ll be waiting at the door to throw you back on the street where you belong. (To cameraman) Now get out of my sight, my masseuse will be here any minute. ---------------------

Awesome show man. All of the matches sounded awesome. Great to see Ace win another big tournament like this, I could actually see him come away with the title this time. The Dragon/Bock feud should be great and I'm really looking forward to see what you do with that. Good to see Hogan become Daniels' protege, really a good choice. I liked how you put him over throughout the tourney to build to it. Could see a Pagano turn from it too. Glad that Hart retained the FUSE title, keep it up.
EDIT: By the way man, I was just looking at the first page of the thread with all the champions and such, and realized that you spelled defenses wrong for all of the championship things. No big deal, just wanted to point that out to you.

I lol'd at Bockwinkel buying the Pepsi can and dumping it. That was great. Good show man, sorry for the late reply.

Brain Grenade‘Disposable Teens’ hits the sound system to kick off the show. Christopher Daniels walks out with Mike Hogan following. In the ring Daniels speaks about how impressed he was at ‘Be the Best.’ However Daniels said Hogan isn’t his protégé yet, he has to prove himself first. 1) Mike Hogan vs. Bret Thomas: Hogan used his quickness over the powerhouse Thomas. Thomas hasn’t been on a roll of late maybe it’s a type of punishment for not staying loyal to SNW (Thomas worked other shows on SNW dates) Hogan was able to wear him down and hit a springboard Elbow Drop for the win. Daniels entered the ring and congratulated Hogan but he wasn’t entirely pleased. It seems Hogan will have to do a lot more to prove he is worthy of being Daniels protégé. 2) Diamond Fortune vs. New Age Lady Killers: A great tag team match between two good tag teams. Diamond Fortune has really stepped it up lately and with a win tonight could be fighting for the belts. The end of the match came as the legal men fought on the outside causing a double count out. When they realised the match was over the teams stopped fighting and complained to the referee. Drake Fortune took advantage low blowing Parkland before running backstage with his partner. Sam Kineval came out and shouted at management for not using him in recent shows. He then starts to rant about his brother, Red Dragon being booked and how much he hates him. Cody Rejaro tells him he needs to chill so he offers him a Pepsi. “Pepsi’s for chumps, get lost jobber boy” this led to Cody challenging Sam to a match which he accepted. 3) Sam Kineval vs. Cody Rejaro: They circle each other then Kineval goes for a grapple. Rejaro dodges and scores with a quick school boy! Kineval complains that his shoes were untied (which he untied as the ref raised Cody’s arm) Cody nods for a rematch to entertain the crowd. 4) Sam Kineval vs. Cody Rejaro: They circle each other again then Kineval goes for a grapple. Rejaro dodges but Kineval rolls through and kicks Cody in the head! The match went back and forth, it was mostly controlled by Kineval and went much longer than their first match. Kineval calls for the Chaos Death Shot but Cody rolls him up in a small package for another victory. Cody quickly runs to the back as Kineval throws a fit in the ring. Kineval then cuts a promo very similar to Batista’s last promo where he quit the WWE. Kineval then says he quits SNW and storms out. Intermission. Many of the fans were confused by the last segment, did Kineval actually quit or was he just mimicking Batista. The announcer confirmed that Kineval has officially left SNW. Ace Bennett was standing backstage ready to introduce a special video. He said in preparation for his title match he had to seek a ‘great man, actually the Greatest Man That Ever Lived.’ They then show the video from a few days ago. Bennett meets up with SNW founder Austin Aries. Bennett says he wants to make sure he can beat Quackenbush and asks for Aries help. Aries said that every once in a while a wrestler needs to ‘change it up a bit.’ Things get old and you need to evolve. 5) Evan Pagano vs. Jacob Ryler: This match was used for Pagano to build up some momentum. Ryler put up a good fight but has never had the crowd believing he would win. Some great reversals led to a Roaring Elbow from Ryler but Pagano pulled out the Calling for the 3-count. The Bennett/Aries video continues. Aries tells him that he has spotted the weak point in Ace’s armour. Aries tells him it’s the Syracuse Dropped. Because Bennett uses it every match opponents have found ways to counter and kick out. Aries tells him that he needs a special move to beat Quack and he knows just the move. Quack and Aires then walk off camera. 6) Revolution X vs. Jason Williams and AirDevils: RevX was represented by Devine, LyNN and Safu with both Hammers and Amy at ringside. Jason and the Devils put up a fight at the start but then RevX took full control. The hot tag was made to Jason who fought them off well but then fell to a Devinity. ‘SNW’s resident psycho’ Steven Kagemann walked out before the main event. He cut a promo to Tommy Dreamer to meet him next week in SNW for ‘talk.’ Kagemann was surprisingly calm, has Kagemann turned over a new leaf? 7) SNW: Mike Quackenbush vs. Ace Bennet: What a match. Coming off such an amazing event such as ‘Be the Best’ which gave the SNW fans so many amazing matches you would think the show after would have to be lackluster to balance it out. However SNW really proved itself here with a little bit of every wrestling style represented in this match. Bennett hit the Syracuse Dropped but Quack kicked out. Quackenbush hit the Quackendriver 3 but Bennett bounced to the outside. Bennett then hit a Shinning Wizard on the outside which nearly caused a countout victory. Quackenbush went for the Chikara Special but Bennett revered it just before he could lock it in fully. Bennett then floated over and locked in the Muto Lock. Even with the fans chanting ‘Please Don’t Tap’ Quack couldn’t take the pain on his previously injured back and tapped out. ‘Ace of Spades’ by Motörhead blasted around the arena as the referee handed Ace Bennett the SNW World Championship. The crowd were split, some liked that Quack had dropped the belt to the ultra talented Bennett while some continued to boo at the cocky youngster. Bennett celebrated for the whole duration of his entrance music even doing a lap of victory around the ring. After Ace had left Quackenbush had a standing ovation. Quack took the mic briefly and thanked the fans for supporting him, he put over the entire SNW roster as great wrestlers and even greater human.

BREAKING NEWSSims National Wrestling (SNW) seems to be in trouble yet again. SNW has had multiple problems with management and money. Earlier this year the then owner (Zachary Miller) left SNW leaving SNW in financial trouble and with no owner. Luckily the SNW wrestlers gathered together and where able to save SNW from closing. Now it looks like they could be close to closing again. Sources within SNW say the trouble stems from the wrestlers having so much responsibility. Many of the wrestlers are putting their own money into the company to keep it afloat. Along with this the wrestlers are also booking the shows and setting up for each show. Recently a man has started to take a ownership/head booker role of SNW. This man is Marc Ryland who has been with SNW since the early FUSE days. Ryland was brought in by Austin Aries to help train the students and book the shows. Ryland is pushing for SNW to have a NXT type concept. Ryland’s idea is for the more experienced members of the roster to take on a student. This would solve many of SNW’s problems. A current issue in SNW is the number of matches on the lesser known shows. Adding one or two student matches at the beginning of the show would help this. When SNW had a student division the students set up the ring and set up for the show. The students would also be paying to be trained and wrestle on the show which would help SNW get financially stable. Expect more news reports to follow.

Oh I like the sounds of a NXT type of show, as long as Ace is a pro. Oh yeah....WOOOOOOO!!! The day has finally come! Really awesome to see Ace go to Aries for help, and its pretty sick that the Muto Lock will be Ace's new finisher. I'll probably use that as a Secondary Finisher for future sign ups because the Syracuse Drop is still pretty sick. The match sounded great, cool to see Ace not fall to the Quackendriver or the Chikara Special. Surprised to see Kineval go, but it doesn't really seem like you like pushing your own characters too much higher than midcarders, but I could see that changing with Red Dragon and his feud with Bockwinkel. Interested to see where you plan to go with Pagano and Kagemann, as well as the whole Hogan/Daniels thing. Good work man.
