Return of the Steel Cage II
SNW interviewer Paul Morgan started off the show in the ring and spoke about the main event tonight which is a loser must disband steel cage match for the vacant SNW championship. He also stated that SNW World Champion Riley Shamrock is not in attendance because of an injury suffered at Clash of the Duos. Morgan did note that the man who injured him, Jack Powers is backstage and will be out to address the title situation later tonight.
1) Carson Clark vs. Duke Parkland: Excellent match to start. Looks like SNW might start using Duke as a singles competitor. Clark was an experienced performer for Duke to bounce off of. Clark was slower in pace than usual but would turn up the speed to fool Parkland. This led to a Swan Dive DDT for Clark to get the win. Handshake post match.
2) Masters of Three Preview: Mike Bockwinkel, Mike Hogan and Noah Lee vs. Jacob Ryler, El Hijo de Angel Custodio and El Alboroto: Fun match to serve as a preview to next years six-man tag tournament. Bock and Hogan were uneasy allies while their opponents have been teaming on Synergy. This was Alboroto’s main roster debut, although likely a one-off as he hasn’t been there long. He impressed with his hard hitting no-nonsense style. It was Hogan who got the win with a Futurism on Angel Custodio.
3) Steven Kagemann vs. Evan Pagano: This match was quite low down for two experienced competitors. If given more time these two could put on a great match. They kept it short with Pagano hitting the SicKick and Calling to continue his winning ways.
4) Ace Bennett and Kevin Hart vs. Parkland Bros (Axel and Rex Parkland): Ace and Hart are two of the best in the world and together, as shown at Clash of the Duos, they make an excellent team. Axel and Rex are still getting to grips teaming together but show promise. Experience prevailed as Ace hit the Busaiki Knee and Hart followed it up with the 450 Splash.
5) Kourtney Love vs. Taliah Winters: These two women rivals have been battling for a months and the hatred between the two was shown from the bell. The action even spilled into the crowd with Love hitting a suplex on a chair. Back in the ring, this heated encounter ended when got the knees up to the moonsault and locked in the Texas Cloverleaf for the submission victory.
6) Jet Jaguar vs. Daniel Sinn: Show stealing match right here! Sinn is known to have great matches against highflyers as shown by his matches with Carson Clark but Jaguar may be the best highflyer in the business. Sinn tried to ground him but Jag was excellent at one-upping him at every turn. This led to the TTM for the win.
7) Masters of Three Preview: Revolution X (Chris Hammers, Safu and Jack Joseph) vs. Cody Rejero, Ken Slayer and Matt Spade: In the second of two Master of Three previews we saw the favourites for the tournament in action as Revolution X demolished their opponents. There was a spirited fight back especially from Slayer who took the fight to Hammers but he fell to the Lariat.
Intermission. Jet Jaguar was out at the break to meet and greet the fans.
8) FUSE: Dave Demento vs. Nick Jacobs: Jacobs won the eliminator at the last event to earn a title shot. Jacobs was also the first ever FUSE Champion, so Demento had a tough challenge. The match was very technical with DD only finding the advantage by cheating. He hit the Breaking Bad for a close count and was nearly caught in a top rope Jacobs Drop. Demento countered and hit the F***tard for the victory.
Jack Powers came out the ring in an “Armbar” T-shirt. He spoke about his match at Clash of the Duos against Riley Shamrock. He said he had the champion beaten and bloodied but yet got caught in the Mui Tai Clinch and got knees to the face. He continued stating that the referee called for the bell on his behalf but he did not tap out or verbally give in. He said he would have continued fighting and won the match if it wasn’t for the referee. He said that Riley Shamrock is so injured from that match he can’t even make it to the show tonight. He called on Red Dragon to vacate Riley of the championship as Dragon did to the Duos champions and crown Powers the new champion. Red Dragon then came out and said he will not be vacating the title. He said that the referee called for the bell because Powers was not protecting himself and the match was called off in the safety of his own health. However, he said that the match was a classic and he wanted to see it again, so he has booked a rematch for the first show of 2018 when Riley is cleared to return.
9) Steel Cage: Losing Team Disband: DUOS: Mockingbird (Dean Caufield and Elliot Reid) vs. AirDevils (Travis Cantrell and Tom Gerard): Epic main event to end off the SNW year, these two teams of rivals tore into each other from the bell. All four men bled early on, Caufield was bloodied to his waist. They hit some innovative moves using the cage and did two big spots from the top. Reid knocked Cantrell off the top and hit a 450 onto everybody then later, the MBirds hit a Doomsday Device off the top rope. The action came thick and fast but as the match drew to a close all four men looked like they had been through a car wreck. The AirDevils survived the Death From Above while the MBirds broke up the Bombs Away pin count. However, a Sky High with Cantrell from the top of the cage gave the AirDevils the win and the titles. Mockingbird must now disband.

Synergy Issue 23Christmas SpecialThis was the Christmas Special, important not only because it’s the last show of 2017 but also because this will be the last Synergy show before the rebrand. 1) Taliah Winters and Gertrude Von Grimm vs. Kourtney Love and Mary Mayfield: Women tag match to start, the action was slow but quickened at the end. Gertrude impressively had both Love and Mary on her shoulders. However, Winters snuck in and got the win with a roll-up. 2) Tatu vs. Zakk Static: The cousin of Safu was in his first singles match. He was too strong to start but then Static used his experience to wear him down, eventually making him tap to the Koji Clutch. 3) Noah Lee vs. Rex Parkland: Another rookie was having a singles bout. Rex is very green and Lee’s still pretty inexperienced. They kept it short but Noah still looked good in his cocky youngster role, he got the win with the Flood. 4) Jacob Ryler and El Alboroto vs. Liam Hendrick and Simon Glockerburg: With MBirds breaking up, Hendrick and Glock could become the new young douchebag team, they played it well here. Alboroto was the star with his strong style inspired offence. Alboroto’s big boy senton off the apron allowed Ryler to pick up the win with the Higher We Go. 5) WOM: Wasp vs. Red Fire: In a rematch from NINE, the women’s title was on the line. The match was good but the fans were never that interested. Wasp won with the Bucklebomb. Dave Demento came out dressed as father Christmas. He handed out presents but they were empty boxes. He laughed at the children before being interrupted by Ken Slayer. 6) Ken Slayer vs. Dave Demento: Great match, Slayer is someone who is going to benefit most from Synergy becoming more serious. He’s worked the undercards and continually improved. The future shows will give him a further chance to show what he can do. He showed this again against the FUSE Champ but DD still won following a Breaking Bad Backbreaker. Intermission. Petey the Pirate joined Ken Slayer to spread the festive cheer and hand out real presents to the children in the crowd. 7) SYN: Jet Jaguar vs. “El Hijo Nature Boy” Pedro Flair: Excellent match, JJ had a reindeer inspired attire including a red nose. They worked a strong highflying match but Flair injected the right amount of comedy. El Hijo is in an odd position, his Flair character works but not transferable to SNW. JJ hit the springboard frog splash for a near fall while Flair locked in the Figure Four. Neither led to the finish. El Hijo springboard in and was caught by a head kick. JJ impressively dead-lifted the groggy Mexican and hit the TTM for the win. 8) New Age Lady Killers (Drew Parkland and Daniel Sinn) vs. Parkland Bros (Duke and Axel Parkland): This was a bit of a SNW dream match and fitting to finish this era of Synergy. Handshakes to the start as Axel faced Sinn then both men tagged out and Duke faced his father. Drew controlled to start but then his son hit him with a dropkick and Drew acknowledged he was out-done. The action continued with plenty of near falls. Duke and Axel hit the Southern Styling but Drew broke it up and the NALK showed them how it’s done. Duke also hit the Dirty Thunder on Sinn, Sinn hit the Original Sinn and Drew hit the KFC on his younger son. The match came to a close as the NALK went for the Pin Pointer on Axel only for Duke to break it up. Axel then dove onto Sinn with a suicide dive, allowing Duke to lock in the Confederacy Choke on his father who tapped to his own move. Sinn and Drew put over Duke and Axel post-match and all four men celebrated.

Breaking News – Henry Edwards Leaves WWE, Mike Bockwinkel becomes SNW shareholder, Alt:Pro Returns
Three major pieces of news have been released relating to SNW. Firstly, the WWE officially announced via their website that former SNW competitor Henry Edwards has left the company. Edwards joined the WWE in late 2012 on a five year deal. There had been speculation that Edwards was letting his contract expire and that has now been confirmed. Edwards started his WWE career well as a tag partner to Neville in NXT. After being called up to the main roster he captured the US title. This was Edwards only title he won during his time with WWE. This past year, Edwards has been used sparingly and hasn’t been seen on television since October. This now leaves Edwards free to join SNW but due to his contact, he won’t be able to compete in SNW until February.
SNW announced via their corporate website that Mike Bockwinkel, current SNW competitor and son of the late Nick Bockwinkel, has become a major shareholder in SNW. This comes to no surprise to those within SNW, Bockwinkel has been with SNW since near the beginning of the company becoming an experienced face amongst the talented youngsters. Bockwinkel has been very involved with the backstage workings of SNW over the past few years. Bockwinkel has previous experience working on TCW with his father who passed away in 2015. Despite being the fiercest of rivals in the ring, Bockwinkel is best friends with part SNW Owner Red Dragon. Despite taking a behind the scenes role, Bockwinkel has reiterated he has no intention of retiring any time soon.
In other news, Alt:Pro the promotion formally run by former SNW Owner Zachary Miller looks like it isn’t done yet. Miller left the company recently and many thought that would be the end of the promotion. However, the promotion has pulled together and have announced their next show ‘Re-Ignition” next year. The show was originally billed as an alternative to SNW using lots of former SNW wrestlers but took a lot of criticism pushing former SNW talent and holding back their own talent. Most notably, youngster Dane Warron who has since been on tour in Dragon Gate in Japan. Vincent Fury and Johnny Arsenic two of the biggest names of the promotion have taking over booking duties. There is also rumours that SNW helped get the promotion back on their feet which would be an interested turn of events if true, considering Alt:Pro’s previous anti-SNW stance.

SNW 2017; A Year in Review
After a controversial ending to 2016 which saw Ace Bennett crowned the new World Champion, 2017 got off to a great start in Brazil where the newly crowned champ successfully defended the belt against old rival and FUSE Champion Kevin Hart. SNW then marched onto Be the Best and after qualifying, Mike Hogan, Jet Jaguar, Riley Shamrock and Mike Bockwinkel found themselves as Block winners. At the iPPV, Wasp got her Showdown rematch with Keeley but failed to take the belt for SNW. Meanwhile, Mockingbird cheated their way to victory over the AirDevils to retain the Duos titles. Hart and Bennett retained their titles against Demento and TCW’s Justin Tyger respectively whilst Riley Shamrock overcame the two Mike’s (Bockwinkel and Hogan) to win Be the Best 2017.
Whilst all this was going on, Revolution X was having a civil war, the stable broke into two teams: Revolution Red led by Chris Hammers and Revolution Blue led by Jordan Devine this would culminate at the tenth incarnation of SNW’s biggest show, Riot Act with the winning team taking the Revolution X name. Revolution Red and Chris Hammers won and begun a new chapter in Revolution X with some new faces. Also at the event: Wasp got her third shot at the women’s title and won finally beating Keeley, Dave Demento shocked everyone by beating Hart to capture the FUSE Championship and the Duos title match ended in confusion as one member of the AirDevils and one member of Mockingbird were crowned champions. In the main event, Riley Shamrock defeated Ace Bennett to become the new World Champion in SNW's match of the year.
SNW then toured the UK with rivalries heating up towards the Ninth Anniversary show. Ace Bennett won the Battle for the UK to line up a rematch with Riley Shamrock at NINE whilst Team UK won the first ever Tri-Nations Cup beating Team USA and Team Canada. Back on American soil, Kevin Hart won the Magnificent 10 to set up a rematch for the FUSE title against Demento. At NINE, Chris Hammers put down TCW’s Justin Tyger, Demento retained the FUSE title over Hart by referee stoppage and Shamrock edged out Bennett in the rematch to keep the World title.
Clash of the Duos then rolled around and with the mix-match team as champions of Gerard and Reid, their normal tag partners also decided to enter the tournament, setting up an almighty confusing match between the AirBirds and the MockingDevils. The AirBirds won the tournament in the finals against their tag partners but their partnership was short lived as the teams came to blows after the match and refused to tag. This led to the final show of the year, with the teams restored, the AirDevils faced Mockingbird in a losing team must disband cage match. The Devils won to take the belts and forced Mockingbird to break up.
As we ended 2016, we ended 2017 in the same way with controversy. At Clash of the Duos night 3, Riley Shamrock fought Jack Powers with the belt on the line. The referee called for the bell after Powers’ wasn’t defending himself but Riley was in a similar situation earlier in the match. At the final show of 2017, an enraged Powers called for a rematch which will be granted at the first show of 2018 when Shamrock is fit to compete.

SNW 2018: Looking Ahead
Shamrock versus Powers II: After the controversial ending at Clash of the Duos night 3, Jack Powers will get his highly anticipated rematch against Shamrock. Despite the match being controversially stopped in Riley’s favour, Riley walked out of the match the worse. The champion is now healed and will give Powers a rematch at the first show of the year, Masters of Three.
Edwards Returns: Henry F’N Edwards returns. After 5 years away, the three time SNW World Champion will return home to SNW. Edwards was pivotal in the early days of SNW and will have his sights set to climbing back up the ladder. He knows he will have to start at the bottom and is relishing the challenge.
Dominant Demento: The FUSE Champion Dave Demento had a stunning 2017, a highlight being capturing the FUSE Championship at Riot Act X over Kevin Hart. Demento has done well as champion thus far but enters 2018 with a target on his back. With the prestige of the FUSE title rising it seems everyone will want their hands on the belts.
Gold News: After forcing rivals Mockingbird to disband, the AirDevils enter 2018 as champions and with no clear challengers. With no Mockingbird, who will step up to the challenge. Meanwhile, Wasp captured the Women’s title at Riot Act X and so far no one has posed a challenge to her reign, what will 2018 bring?
SNW 2018 Schedule (Provisional) January: Masters of Three 2018 (iPPV) February: Be the Best qualifiers (Nights 1 & 2) March: Be the Best qualifier (Night 3) April: Be the Best Tiebreaker Night May: Be the Best 2018 (iPPV) June: Riot Act XI (iPPV) July: Anniversary Tour (Shows 1, 2 & 3) August: Anniversary Tour (Shows 4- Queen of the Ring, 5 and 6) September: Anniversary Tour (Show 7 -Magnificent 10 and Show 8) October: TEN (Anniversary Show) (iPPV) December- Clash of the Duos 2018 (iPPV) (3 Nights- Britain)

Masters of Three 2018
SNW’s trios tournament returns after a four year absence. The third Masters of Three Tournament will take place in the home of trios matches, Mexico. Eight teams will battle to be crowned the Masters of Three 2018 following in the footsteps of the AirDevils in 2014 and the original winners the Adrenaline Boyz (Nick Jacobs, Steven Kagemann and Super Extreme) in 2009.
Mexico will play host to the most eagerly anticipated rematches in SNW history. Jack Powers will challenge again for the SNW World Championship after the controversial finish at Clash of the Duos. The referee called for the bell after Powers could not protect himself but the Champion, Shamrock came out of that match in the worse shape.
For those wondering about Henry Edwards return to SNW after five years away, due to his no-complete clause he will not appear at Masters of Three. He will be in action when SNW returns to the States.
AirDevils (Carson Clark, Tom Gerard and Travis Cantrell) The winners in 2014 and the current Duos Champions. This experienced trio will go in as favourites.
Revolution X (Chris Hammers, Safu and Jack Joseph) Revolution X has been a part of SNW since the beginning. Can they claim this title to add to their trophy cabinet?
Parkland Bros (Duke, Axel and Rex Parkland) Although inexperienced, these three will have the strongest bond of the tournament. Can they go all the way?
House of Stone (Cameron Stone, Lord Jamerson and Joseph Stone) Fresh off touring with NJPW, Jamerson and J.Stone return. Baby J has a new name. Can Joseph’s father lead his team to further glory?
Ace Bennett, Kevin Hart and Jet Jaguar Three of the best SNW has to offer and possibly three of the world’s best team up for the first time. Will they be able to coexist?
Mike Hogan, Noah Lee and Elliot Reid The English are coming, the English are coming! Hogan and Lee have teamed up all last year. How will a third man effect the team?
Mike Bockwinkel, Dave Demento and Daniel Sinn Three of the most evil members of the SNW roster team up, Evil? Indeed. Will all three ego’s clash?
Evan Pagano, Nick Jacobs and Ken Slayer The son of Ricky Slayer gets a great opportunity, teaming with two experienced roster members in this dark horse team. Quarter-Final Matches: House of Stone (Cameron Stone, Lord Jamerson and Joseph Stone) vs. Ace Bennett, Kevin Hart and Jet Jaguar AirDevils (Carson Clark, Tom Gerard and Travis Cantrell) vs. Mike Hogan, Noah Lee and Elliot Reid Revolution X (Chris Hammers, Safu and Jack Joseph) vs. Evan Pagano, Nick Jacobs and Ken Slayer Parkland Bros (Duke, Axel and Rex Parkland) vs. Mike Bockwinkel, Dave Demento and Daniel Sinn
SNW World Championship The Rematch Riley Shamrock vs. Jack Powers
And El Hijo de Angel Custodio in action.

Masters of Three 2018 Mexico City, Mexico
1) QTR: House of Stone (Cameron Stone, Lord Jamerson and Joseph Stone) vs. Ace Bennett, Kevin Hart and Jet Jaguar: Really great opener. Jamerson and J Stone have improved so much in their time in Japan. The story behind Baby J’s name change is because the “Baby J” didn’t sound well in Japanese. But the highlight was Bennet, Hart and JJ who are arguably the best three wrestlers on the planet, they took the win with a 450 Splash from Hart.
2) QTR: AirDevils (Carson Clark, Tom Gerard and Travis Cantrell) vs. Mike Hogan, Noah Lee and Elliot Reid: The all English team looked like a good trio, they worked over the AirDevils for the hot tag twice before the Devils came in flying. After that, it was all over. A three man Bombs Away gave the reigning champions the win.
3) QTR: Revolution X (Chris Hammers, Safu and Jack Joseph) vs. Evan Pagano, Nick Jacobs and Ken Slayer: After a 2017 that included a Civil War, RevX are looking like they are back to their best. They worked over the inexperienced Slayer but he hot tagged out to Pagano who came in like a house on fire. It was Jacobs who took the fall from a Samoan Drop/Pele.
4) QTR: Parkland Bros (Duke, Axel and Rex Parkland) vs. Mike Bockwinkel, Dave Demento and Daniel Sinn: The three heels were excellent at being the bad guys, using every trick in the book to gain advantage. Their egos got the better of them in the end as they started to argue. This led to Duke picking up the pin fall over his father’s former tag partner, Daniel Sinn with the KFC.
5) El Hijo de Angel Custodio vs. Jason Williams: As the event is in Mexico, SNW’s lone Mexican got a singles match. He faced Jason who out of everyone on the SNW roster, can work the Lucha Libre style best. Lots of fast action which ended with the Spanish Fly on El Hijo.
6) SEMI: AirDevils (Carson Clark, Tom Gerard and Travis Cantrell) vs. Ace Bennett, Kevin Hart and Jet Jaguar: Excellent fast paced bout that went under ten minutes. Lots of fast action and all the moves came out. JJ hit the TTM to take his team to the finals. Handshakes all around post-match.
7) SEMI: Revolution X (Chris Hammers, Safu and Jack Joseph) vs. Parkland Bros (Duke, Axel and Rex Parkland): Excellent underdog story told here, the experienced trio against an inexperienced band of brothers. Rex took an awful lot of punishment and it looked like the brothers may pull off an upset. Then Hammers went on a rampage hitting a Liger Bomb on Axel, a LMO on Axel and a Lariat on Rex to advance with his team to the finals.
8) SNW: Riley Shamrock vs. Jack Powers: It’s strange to have such a big match not as a main event and not in America. The fans weren’t too into this at first because a lot of them are not familiar with them. The story of the match was that these two faced off at the end of last year where Riley won controversially by referee stoppage in the Mui Tai Knees but Riley was injured after that match. Powers was the aggressor yet again and it was his fire that won the crowd round. He went MMA on Riley and suplexed him around the ring looking for submissions. Riley fought back but showed signs of his concussion he suffered. Riley was throwing out kicks but Powers was learning and catching them in submissions. The tide turned with Riley countering a german suplex attempt off the apron into a brainbuster onto the apron. Riley then did a crazy Bryan Danielson-eq dive into the crowd. Both men got in just before the 20 count and Riley went to work with submissions. He nearly got the win with the Famine Driver but then went for the Irish Welcoming but Powers reversed it into a triangle choke. Riley got out of it by kicking at the head of Powers. The referee stopped to see if Powers was alright but the challenger waved him away and locked in the Choke out to Riley. The Champion struggled to the ropes and Powers stood up and stomped on the “Gunslingers” head. The referee paused again but Powers pulled Riley to his feet and hit the Mui Tai Knees. Riley was not defending himself but the referee controversially did not call for the bell like he did last time. Powers pushed Riley to the floor and told the referee to call for the bell. Powers then walked straight into a Fujiwara armbar which Riley transitioned into the Ode to Shamrock submission. Powers struggled and made it to the ropes, Riley pulled him back and Powers struggled again. Powers then went limp and the referee called for the bell.
Another classic between these two and an early MOTYC. Riley stayed down again and referees had to help him to the back. Commentator Drew Parkland said he believed Powers’ foot was under the rope when he went limp. A video replay showed that it was. Plus should the referee have called for the bell when Riley went limp? Another controversial loss to Shamrock for Powers. The challenger was groggy post match but still had some words for the official. Medics helped usher him to the back but he was pissed so he pushed one to the floor.
9) FINAL: Revolution X (Chris Hammers, Safu and Jack Joseph) vs. Ace Bennett, Kevin Hart and Jet Jaguar: Excellent main event, a worthy main event to kick off 2018. There were some brilliant exchanges between old rivals Bennett and Hammers and also between Jaguar and Joseph. The match went just under thirty minutes but there was never a dull moment. All the finishers came out into play but it was a head kick from Jet Jaguar, Ace’s Busaiki Knee and a 450 Splash that gave Hart the three count.
Ace, Hart and Jaguar were handed the Masters of Three trophy.

Alt:Pro Presents Re-Ignition: Alt:Pro returned for their first show since Zachary Miller left as owner. The show was a shake up from its old ownership, newer faces emerged and the new show runners, Johnny Arsenic and Vincent Fury seemed to listen to the fans. It was announced that Beast and Jugg could not make the show (but most likely were not welcomed back) so have been stripped of the titles, a short tournament takes place tonight to crown new champions. A.J Matthews, Phenom, Kris Havok and Rory Wiseman were all missing but due to double bookings and injures are expected to take part in future shows.
In the opening round matches to crown new tag champions, World Champion Vincent Fury teamed up with his regular tag partner, Johnny Arsenic and looked to be favourites to win the tournament. But they were shocked in the first round by two youngsters, ten years younger than them, Tobias Black and Nate Ryan now known as Made in Detroit after their heroes MCMG, won the match with a roll up. Arsenic and Fury attacked post match.
In the second opening round match the former champions, Max and Lloyd Blaze defeated fellow brothers, the Taylors who were making their debut. The debuting Jax Anderson ran through Pablo. Jax is a powerful young cocky ex-Football player in the build of Patrick R. Everson. In a Salvation rematch, Assassin put down Kuleshov again. Six junior heavyweights battled for a chance to move into title contention, Vincent Valintino got the win with a SSP on DJ.
Later on, Matt and Everson battled in a hard hitting affair. Matt got the win with a Double Underhook Powerbomb. Veteran Crockett outsmarted Swindell in a technical bout but the 23 year old impressed and offered the handshake after the match which was not accepted. The ever popular Dane Warron finally won the Junior title in a match that seemed like it was re-writing the wrong of not booking the talented youngster as the first champion. Warron shined yet again and put in another MOTN performance, in his time away he has gone on tour with Dragon Gate. But the main event was the crowning of the new tag champions, the fans favoured Black and Ryan but the young duo fell short in a good match to the first tag champions, the Blaze Brothers. It was a good match but not worthy of main eventing the big comeback show of Alt:Pro. Still a decent show from Alt:Pro and now with the booking focusing on the youngsters there finally seems to be a future for the company.
Quick Results: 1) TAG: Made in Detroit (Tobias Black and Nate Ryan) def. Fire and the Fury (Johnny Arsenic and Vincent Fury) to advance 2) TAG: Blaze Brothers (Max and Lloyd Blaze) def. Robin and Ozzy Taylor to advance 3) Jak Anderson def. Pablo 'Speedy' Gonzalez 4) Twisted Assassin def. Alexander Kuleshov 5) Vincent Valintino def. Antonio Benitez, Kyo Ichiban, DJ Hughes, Winston Knight and Christopher Kennedy Jones 6) Matt def. Patrick R. Everson 7) Ron Crockett def. Jake Swindell 8) JNR: Dane Warron def. Arthur Williams (NEW CHAMPION) 9) TAG: Blaze Brothers (Max and Lloyd Blaze) def. Made from Detroit (Tobias Black and Nate Ryan) (NEW CHAMPIONS)

Be the Best 2018 UpdateSNW annual tradition Be the Best returns for 2018. The matches will be held over the next three SNW shows with any tiebreakers being decided on the 4th show. The leaders of each block will advance to Be the Best iPPV, where the four block leaders will face off in two semi-final matches. The winners of the two singles matches advance to the finals where the winner will get a shot at the SNW World Championship at Riot Act XI. SNW Part Owner, Red Dragon has named Evan Pagano the number one contender to the SNW World title. Pagano will challenge for the title at the Be the Best iPPV and as a result he will not enter the tournament. SNW FUSE Champion Dave Demento has chosen not to enter Be the Best. The “Social Misfit” commented on Twitter that he doesn’t need to win a tournament to know he’s the best. Henry Edwards will also make his return to SNW after a five year absence. However, considering he has been away for so long, SNW felt it wasn’t right to grant him a place in the tournament as he has not proven himself. Below are the entrants for the 2018 Be the Best. Below that is the 4 blocks and how the tournament works. Mike Bockwinkel: The man who won the tournament in 2014, will look to go all the way again Ace Bennett: The integral Winner in 2010, Bennett looks to re-capture the SNW World title Carson Clark: The Leader of the AirDevils will look to add to the group’s gold Chris Hammers: The three time SNW World Champion has never won this tournament, is 2018 his year? Kevin Hart: “Calgary’s Own” has been focusing on the FUSE title in 2017, can he re-capture the big one? Mike Hogan: “The Joker in the Pack” won this tournament in 2013, five years on, can he repeat it? Nick Jacobs: One of the veterans of pack, will the first ever FUSE Champion grab this chance? Jet Jaguar: Off the back of winning the Masters of Three, he will be looking for a star making performance Jack Joseph: “The Patron Saint of Pro Wrestling” has shown a mean streak since joining RevX Steven Kagemann: Always unpredictable, how will “SNW’s Resident Madman” do? Duke Parkland: A rookie in the pack, he attempts singles competition after finding success with his brother Jack Powers: Another vet who has yet to win the tournament but recently took the champ to the limit twice Cody Rejero: He may not get far but everybody loves the “Pepsi King” Safu: The destructive Samoan is known for his tag work but is always a threat in a tournament Ken Slayer: Another rookie in the tournament, Slayer has won the fans over with his performances in 2017 Daniel Sinn: The “Widdowmaker” could do with a strong performance to put himself back in the limelight BLOCK ACarson Clark Kevin Hart Jack Powers Ken Slayer BLOCK BChris Hammers Nick Jacobs Steven Kagemann Duke Parkland BLOCK CMike Bockwinkel Jet Jaguar Cody Rejero Safu BLOCK DAce Bennett Mike Hogan Jack Joseph Daniel Sinn

Be the Best Qualifying - Night 1
All the competitors came out for the group photo. Interestingly, Hammers took offence to something Duke Parkland did and shoved him the floor. The rest of the competitors stopped them fighting further. Hammers left with Jack Joseph and Safu.
1) BLOCK A: Carson Clark vs. Kevin Hart: Good fast paced opener to start. Hart picked up the three points with the 450.
2) BLOCK B: Nick Jacobs vs. Steven Kagemann: Two veterans clashed. Kagemann worked over the left leg of his opponent and found success with the DeathDrive
In a surprising turn of events the women were given some promo time. Rev X’s Taliah Winters cut a pretty good promo stating why she should be champion. Kourtney Love interrupted saying that she respects Taliah as she is the only member of RevX with balls but she doesn’t deserve to be number one contender. Red Fire interrupted and stated her claim to being number one contender. Rose Parkland then showed up and Taliah asked “Really? What the hell are you doing” which got a laugh out of the audience. Rose said she thought something was going on and decided to come out here. Love suggested that the four of them face off tomorrow. Three agreed and Rose was left wondering what she walked into.
3) BLOCK C: Mike Bockwinkel vs. Safu: Bock stalled his way to victory, using every cheat in the book. He won with a roll up with his feet on the ropes.
4) BLOCK D: Jack Joseph vs. Daniel Sinn: Although both heels, these two put on a good back-and-forth match. Joseph continues to impress and hit a Pele kick to win.
5) BLOCK A: Ken Slayer vs. Jack Powers: Powers was pissed and took it out on young Slayer. Powers won by referee stoppage as he locked in the Triangle Choke and added elbows.
6) BLOCK B: Chris Hammers vs. Duke Parkland: In what will go down as the shock of the tournament and possibly tournament history, Parkland defeated Hammers with a small package. Hammers was in control but was too cocky at times allowing Parkland back into it. Hammers could have had the win with the Lariat but chose to add further punishment, this allowed Duke to get the roll-up.
Intermission. SNW announced that Henry Edwards was in the building and would be making an appearance tonight.
7) BLOCK C: Jet Jaguar vs. Cody Rejero: Pretty quick, fun little match. Jag brought the best out of Cody, it would be fun to see these two get more time. JJ won with a frog splash then the TTM.
After a five year absence, “The Trooper” by Iron Maiden played and Henry Edwards returned to SNW. He got a full heroes welcome from the fans who would not stop chanting “Welcome Back”. He put over SNW and how much it had grown since he had been away and then thanked the fans. Then “Knights of Cydonia” played which is the music of SNW World Champion Riley Shamrock. The fans went crazy but there was no Riley Shamrock. The music was cut off and the fans boo’ed. Edwards said that he returns to action tomorrow night.
8) BLOCK D: Ace Bennett vs. Mike Hogan: Excellent main event, these two know each other so well and have fantastic chemistry. The action was fast from the bell and never let up. Both men pulled out all the stops. Bennett hit the Syracuse Drop but the twenty minute time limit sounded resulting in a draw.
Bennett challenged Hogan to five more minutes after the bell, not for the points just for pride. Hogan declined.

Be the Best Qualifying - Night 2
1) BLOCK A: Kevin Hart vs. Ken Slayer: Good opener. Slayer put up more of a fight than he did last night but still fell to Hart’s Sharpshooter
2) BLOCK B: Duke Parkland vs. Steven Kagemann: After his shock win at last night, Duke was looking to get another win. He impressed but ultimately fell to the Fire Tornado.
3) BLOCK C: Jet Jaguar vs. Safu: Typical strength versus speed match but it was very good. JJ ended up getting the win with the springboard Frogslash.
4) Taliah Winters vs. Red Fire vs. Kourtney Love vs. Rose Parkland: This match was kept pretty short. After a bit of fighting Love hit a Asai Moonsault to the floor onto everybody and got counted out.
Winters was upset and started beating on Love. Fire saw this as an opportunity and beat down Rose. The Women’s Champion Wasp made the save.
5) BLOCK D: Mike Hogan vs. Jack Joseph: Although both heels, these two put on a good match. Hogan had the crowd on his side and won with the Futurism.
6) BLOCK A: Carson Clark vs Jack Powers: Powers once again ran through his opponent. He’s looking the favourite to win the whole thing but will face Kevin Hart to decide the Block. But in this form, Powers will be hard to stop.
7) BLOCK C: Mike Bockwinkel vs. Cody Rejero: “The Pepsi King” was looking to score an upset but couldn’t put the two time SNW World champ away, Bock won with a jumping Bockwinkel Special.
Intermission. A video played of Dave Demento, he apologised for not being there then joked and said he wouldn’t perform in front of the “vermin” crowd. He said he wrestles on his own time and doesn't need to compete to know he's the best that's why he's FUSE Champ.
8) BLOCK D: Ace Bennett vs. Daniel Sinn: Great match, Sinn can crank out the performances when he needs to and he faced possibly the best in the world. Ace secured the win with the Syracuse Bound.
9) Henry Edwards vs. Jason Williams: This was Edwards in ring return to SNW after five years. The crowd were insane, chanting for Edwards and even singing his theme. Jason hit a few spots but it was all about Edwards in this short match. Edwards hit the Fatal Impact (Handspring Enziguri) and followed it up with the HE Driver (Double Underhook Brainbuster) to get the win.
As Edwards was celebrating, Riley Shamrock’s music played but no-showed again. Fans are wondering what is going on. Riley isn’t the kind of guy to be playing mind games, especially against someone who he respects such as Edwards.
10) BLOCK B: Chris Hammers vs. Nick Jacobs: Good main event. Although lacking in star power, Jacobs can always be relied upon. Jacobs took an absolute beating from Hammers who went pretty shoot on some of his strikes. Jacobs stayed in it and roared back after being hit with the Lariat. Hammers was not to be outdone and hit another Lariat and followed it up with the LMO for the win.

Issue 24 – Heroes
This was the first Synergy show of a new era. Out goes the family friendly vibe, now it’s all about developing the youth of the SNW roster.
1) Viper ‘Lightning’ Tion vs. Dean Caufield: The former Simon Glockerburg has been working under a Jushin Liger gimmick which he is growing into. Caufield is also getting better but his losing streak continued after a Liger Bomb and a SSP.
2) El Alboroto vs. Noah Lee: Hoss battle! SNW doesn’t do it often but when they do it’s usually great. Alboroto lives up to his “Mexican Strong Style” nickname. Lee gave as good as he got but fell to the Backdrop Driver.
3) Lord Jamerson and Joseph Stone vs. Xander Reeves and Kazumi Tsukuda: This was our first chance to see Reeves and Kazumi who are both only 16 years old but have been training at the Academy for over a year. They bumped well and took all the offence. Stone won with a Moonsault.
4) Dave Demento vs. Tatu: The “Social Misfit” had to approach this differently as he was out powered in this bout. It was good to see Tatu in a singles match. He did well but still fell to the F***tard.
5) Taliah Winters and Gertrude Von Grimm vs. Kourtney Love and Mary Mayfield: Fun tag match, all four know each other well. Mary is a step below the rest of the group. Grimm continues to impress, she caught Love from a suicide dive then threw her into a diving Mary. A DVD gave Winters and Grimm the win.
6) Zakk Static vs. Elliot Reid: Both these two are known more as tag men but this gave them the chance to impress. It was a good back and forth contest. Reid missed the Elevation and fell to a enziguri and a brainbuster.
Intermission.
7) Duke Parkland vs. Liam Hendrick: Despite the change in Synergy, the Parklands are still very popular. Parkland is looking better and better in singles action and is a future FUSE Champ, he also brought the best out of Hendrick and put him away with the KFC.
7) Jacob Ryler and El Hijo de Angel Custodio vs. Parkland Bros (Axel and Rex Parkland): Ryler and El Hijo are the experience in the roster and played well of the young Parkland bros (20 and 17 respectively). With Duke going singles, undoubtedly with time these two Parklands will be running the SNW tag division. They won here with the Pin Pointer.
Lord Jamerson and Joseph Stone came out and challenged the Parklands to prove who the best team in Synergy is. Jamerson was solid on the mic. Stone was a bit weak but at 20, he’ll get better,
8) SYN: Jet Jaguar vs. Ken Slayer: Excellent main event and showing exactly what the new era is about. JJ (along with Demento) are probably too big for Synergy but it looks like they are using them to help the roster. This showed perfectly here as JJ brought the best out of Slayer. The fans bought on Slayer winning the title but JJ retained with the springboard Frog Splash.
Dave Demento came out to challenge Jet Jaguar to a title shot. Duke Parkland interrupted and made it a three way.

Be the Best Qualifying - Night 3
1) BLOCK A: Carson Clark vs. Ken Slayer: Good opener. Both men fighting for pride not to be left on zero points. Slayer is turning into one of the most reliable performers but lost to the Swan Dive DDT.
2) BLOCK B: Duke Parkland vs. Nick Jacobs: Another man on his BtB debut, Duke Parkland has already picked up the two points and could still be in the tournament with a win. He put up a good performance but fell to the Jacobs Drop.
3) FUSE: Dave Demento vs. Elliot Reid: Break in tournament action. A simple title defence for DD. Reid is still finding his feet as a singles competitor. He played the face here but is better as a heel. DD punted him in the head with the F***tard for the win.
4) BLOCK C: Cody Rejero vs. Safu: Another match where two competitors were fighting to not be left without any points. Cody was the unlucky man falling to the Samoan Drop.
5) BLOCK D: Mike Hogan vs. Daniel Sinn: Both men were heels but Hogan was treated like a face. He needed a win to put the pressure on Bennett. Hogan did just that with the Futurism.
6) Taliah Winters and Red Fire vs. Kourtney Love and Rose Parkland: Pretty short but it moves the storyline on. The women aren’t getting enough time for their matches. The heels worked over Rose then started to cheat. The Women’s Champion took offence to this and helped Love and Rose win.
After the match, Wasp stood tall with Love and Rose. Love looked at the title enviously and then Rose did too.
Evan Pagano came out and spoke about his opponent at Be the Best, the SNW World Champion Riley Shamrock. It started off pretty simplistic at first then Pagano turned up the heat and laid into Riley verbally bashing him not appearing due to concussion. He said he should have surrendered the belt because Pagano is going to so no mercy at taking the belt from him.
5) Henry Edwards vs. Dean Caufield: After his successful return to the ring at the last show, Edwards carried on the momentum. Caufield had new stars and stripes tights but it didn’t bring him luck. HE dominated. Hitting the HE Driver for the win.
Edwards cut a promo after the match which led into the break. He said he understands he has to prove himself all over again since SNW has evolved since he left. He stated he will work his way back to the top. He was cut off mid promo by Riley Shamrock’s music which then stops which the fans know by now he’s not showing. It will be interesting to see where they go with this because they won’t be turning Riley heel.
Intermission. Edwards stayed out at the break and being a former WWE star, he was a big hit.
6) BLOCK D: Ace Bennett vs. Jack Joseph: Bennett needed to win to take the Block to a tiebreaker. JJ pushed him all the way. The match was kept short but a longer match is needed between these two. JJ missed a Pele and was hit with the Busaki Knee giving Ace the win.
Block D will go to a tiebreaker: Ace Bennett vs. Mike Hogan
7) BLOCK B: Chris Hammers vs. Steven Kagemann: Like Bennett, Hammers needed a win to take the Block to a tiebreaker. Kagemann looked good but the fans knew he wouldn’t win here. He fell the Lariat.
Block B will go to a tiebreaker: Chris Hammers vs. Steven Kagemann
8) BLOCK C: Mike Bockwinkel vs. Jet Jaguar: The winner of this match advances to the Semi-Finals. These two have great chemistry. Bock works over JJ for the majority for the match and the fans pop for JJ’s comeback. Bock then cuts him off, rinse and repeat. Bock could not cut off JJ in the end and fell to a springboard Frogsplash.
10) BLOCK A: Kevin Hart vs. Jack Powers: Winner take the Block. Powers came out straight from the bell as he has done all tournament. Hart struggled early on so tried to slow it down to submissions, bad move, that’s where Powers is most dangerous. Hart was struggling with the newly motivated Powers. Hart hit a 450 for a close count and tried for the Maple Leaf Special but Powers countered into the Choke Out. Hart got to the ropes and went for the Calgary Special after a quick exchange. Powers countered into the Choke Out again which got him the win.

Be the Best Update
BLOCK A Carson Clark [2] Kevin Hart [4] Jack Powers [6] Ken Slayer [0] Summary: Jack Powers takes the Block in possibly the most dominant Be the Best tournament performance ever. He dominated his Block and made a win over former World Champion Hart look easy. Hart came second and Clark third. Slayer’s BtB debut finished pointless but won over plenty of fans.
BLOCK B Chris Hammers [4] Nick Jacobs [2] Steven Kagemann [4] Duke Parkland [2] Summary: Kagemann will face Hammers again for the Block. Hammers won the last bout so will be favourite. Parkland’s BtB ended but he got a shock win over Hammers and Jacobs joined him on two points.
BLOCK C Mike Bockwinkel [4] Jet Jaguar [6] Cody Rejero [0] Safu [2] Summary: Is it Jet Jaguar’s time? He defeated Bockwinkel to win the Block and now heads to the Semi’s. Bock finishes second and Safu third. Cody is pointless but hey, at least he’s got Pepsi.
BLOCK D Ace Bennett [5] Mike Hogan [5] Jack Joseph [2] Daniel Sinn [0] Summary: Bennett and Hogan will square off once again after their time limit draw on Night 1 to decide the winner of the Block. Joseph finishes on two points and Sinn finishes pointless.
