Before the Show
I woke up the trainees extra early today making sure everyone (including Pagano) got up. After getting them up I led them across the road in their half sleeping state. After a long period of 15 mins past Brent Albright came in though the door most of the trainee’s instantly lightened up but others such as Pagano and Parkland couldn’t care less as they either didn’t care or didn’t know who he was.
After I told the trainees that Brent was taking their class today Brent gave a quick history lesson of himself from his days in WWE as Gunner Scott to his rise in the indy market and now in ROH were he recently wan the NWA World Championship. Brent asked for any questions and was met by Evan Pagano’s “So your not the champ anymore eh?” Brent shrugged it off and answered any other questions fired at him.
After lunch Brent entered the ring and showed some big power moves which Hammers, Safu and Petey all did well at and also James (new name) Powers who made sure he did well to show up to Brent as he is his opponent tonight. Edwards looked the best and his powerslam was one of the best I have ever seen! Devine landed hard on his neck after a powerbomb from Matt Spade he seemed allright though. After more training Brent left to get ready for the show and the students set up the arena.
Face Off
I played FUSE’s opening theme, “Flux” by Bloc Party though my computer linked up to two rather small speakers. As everyone quieted down Evan Pagano came out and got on the mic. He spoke about being better than all this student rubbish and should be main eventing not opening! He was cut off by Bret Thomas looking once again like Tim Donst and ran into the ring.
Match 1: Evan Pagano vs. Bret Thomas
Thomas started off well getting in his college wrestling moves and kept Evan grounded and into countless submissions. Thomas went to go for a belly to belly butwas stopped by a low blow from Pagano’s knee. Pagano then ruthlessly attacked Thomas’s leg and stomped away on it, the crowd really hated him for this. Thomas tried to fight back but his leg gave way and Pagano put him away with The Calling (Quackendriver III)
Winner: Evan Pagano
Petey the Pirate came out and got the crowd livened up before Drew Parkland came out and took the fight straight to the Jolly Roger.
Match 2: Petey The Pirate vs. Drew Parkland
Parkland kept to mostly brawling in this match trying to get Petey in a corner so he could ruthlessly have him to his mercy but the large Pirate used his strength to fight though. Petey used the moves Brent had showed him earlier on and hit a huge leg drop that shook the ring! Parkland fought back and locked in the Confederacy Choke (Gogo Platta), which left Petey with nothing else to do but submit.
Winner: Drew Parkland
Daniel Sinn then came out and talked about the sinners in the audeinece, they originally thought he was doing a religious gimmick but he then said they were his friends! Sinn told us that if you are a sinner you are like him and anyone who is not will be vanquished but there will only be one ‘Original Sinn’
Matthew Spade made his way out once again in a full suit and flashing money around then took it off for his wrestling match. To the crowds surprise a woman entered the arena in bright pink attire she entered the ring.
Match 3: Amy Lee vs. Matthew Spade
Amy looked really good (in two ways) She was just as good as most of the men in action tonight and did a lot of comedy spots with Spade. Spade turned the advantage to his own when he hit a twisting bodyslam followed by a headlock, which Amy battled out of with a backdrop. Amy surprisingly got the win with a DDT.
Winner: Amy Lee
As Amy Lee was celebrating a man jumped out from the crowd wearing a hoodie and jeans. He started shouting at Amy before security removed him. The whole crowd was shocked at this situation.
Out came new students Nick Jacobs and Super Extreme they were then followed by Moore and Stille who make up Just Another Gangsta Team
Match 4: Nick Jacobs & Super Extreme vs. Just Another Gangsta Team
Both Jacobs and Extreme ruined it by bringing in way too many weapons, the referee knew not to count for a DQ so he just let it run. Extreme hit some really stiff shots and busted up Moore bad and even brought a folk into play (God dammit it’s a family show!) I gave the signal and the ref stopped it before it really got out of hand both Extreme and Jacobs will be having some words later with me.
Winner: Just Another Gangsta Team via DQ
Before anyone left Moore just about got to his feet and went for a chairshot behind Jacobs back but Steve Kagemann hit a sick springboard dropkick hitting the chair into his face. Jacobs then grabbed a mic and told us that from now on FUSE is about to be taken to the max as the 3 of them will now be known as the Adrenaline Boyz with Jacobs at the helm.
Intermission came and FUSE fan favourite Jacob Ryler came out, shooked some hands and posed for photos. As we came back from intermission Shaun Tiger made his way out only to be followed by the monster Safu accompanied by Chris Hammers.
Match 5: Shaun Tiger vs. Safu
A absolute squash, Safu murdered Tiger and nailed both a burning hammer and Samoan drop to put Tiger into the hospital.
Winner: Safu
Hammers picked up the mic and told us that this new revolution will bring about a new change. Hammers told us that last time on FUSE he announced Safu as his first member now welcome the second member, Jordan Devine! A blonde 5’4 guy came out and stood behind Hammers next to a crazy Safu. “This is Revoultion X, whether you like it or not!”
Jacob Ryler bounced out to an energetic welcome he was followed by Twisted Assassin who walked out very plainly and stood in the corner. Then Henry Edward mocked the crowd as he made his way out and called one of the kids “pips-sweek”
Match 6: Jacob Ryler vs. Twisted Assassin vs. Henry Edwards
An awesome triple threat with Ryler using his highflying skills, Assassin using his tactics and Edwards ruthlessly pounding against everyone and hitting that awesome powerslam from earlier. Ryler once again proved a fan favourite with a diving senton to the outside but was caught by both opponents when attempting a springboard crossbody and double fall way slammed to the outside. Edwards saw his opportunities and hit the H.E. Driver (Double underhook brainbuster)
Winner: Henry Edwards
Brent Albright got a pretty large cheer and Powers (new name) got a decent pop.
Main Event: Brent Albright vs. James Powers
The best match of the night, Powers proved to be the ultimate competitor for Albright and matched him move for move. What Powers lacks in personality he certainly makes up in skill, he is a master of this sport and techniqually wrestled as good as Brent. A chop fest even occurred during the match but the inexperienced Powers couldn’t handle the chops and sluched into the corner before fighting back with a backdrop driver. The main spot of the match was a backdrop from the top by Powers that reminded me a lot of Bryan Danielson’s version of the move. Powers locked in the Russian Armbar and Albright looked to submit but counted it into the Crowbar to make Powers submit.
Winner: Brent Albright
Both competitors lay exhausted in the ring and the crowd gave a standing ovation but then out came Revolution X (Hammers, Safu, Devine) who laid the boots to the two and left them on the floor as Revoulution X was left standing tall.
