So you are telling me that Nintendo, who have not released an overtly interesting title in a long while is going to release a handheld system that scales BACK the only feature I still utilize on my DS, effectively eliminating the ability to play the only good game that has come out lately in Guitar Hero... and they are going to charge 180 dollars? I'm done playing Nintendo's stupid games... I'm not buying more useless features and pointless gimmicks...

So is this like a DS2, or just an updated version of the DS Lite, like how the DS Lite was an updated version of the original?

They didn't mention graphical capabilities so I'm assuming it's just a vastly improved DS model.

The DS has my single favorite library of anything to come out since the PS2.

I am CAUTIOUSLY optimistic about a new Punch Out. It could either be totally god damn amazing, or Wii Boxing II.

Should they cell-shade it or attempt 3D? I'm not sure which I'd prefer. EDIT: Haha, wow. Nevermind:

The GBA slot being retconned doesn't bother me in the slightest. I still have my GBA SP and micro, and I don't even really play GH anymore. Plus it's not like I'm getting rid of my lite. I've got an evolution of Gameboy thing going on in my desk drawer. Gameboy, Gameboy Pocket, Gameboy Color, GBA, GBA SP, GBA micro, DS, and now DSi. I was more bummed when they didn't include GB Classic BC on the DS than this. Plus, you just know the reason for it is because they're going to throw up a DS Virtual Console on their DSi Store.

I'll be passing on the new DS. I hardly use the one I have now. Hopefully Punch Out is decent.

HOLY SH*T SIN AND PUNISHMENT 2? Pictures: n-europe.com/news.php?nid=12393Kinda spewing that theyre getting rid of the GBA Slot, how are people going to play Guitar Hero on the DSi? And also theres still alot of people that still enjoy and play GBA games, I could see why that they'd get rid of the slot to move on ect.. but a few games and accessories use the GBA Slot aswell. The Design, bleh, would have been nicer to see a more Sleek/ More sophisticated design for the DSi instead of a DS Lite copy.

I really don't think that the hit game to the round eyes is really priority one for the Japanese company that's biggest hit is Nintendogs and Pokermans.

Lookskinda cool and I'm probably gonna end up buying it seeing as I passed on the Lite and stuck to my original DS which I got in 2004, I think its about time I upgraded. Built in web broswer sounds like it could be good although I hope it includesa Flash player otherwise a good portion of websites will be difficult to read if at all(namely wwe.com). Im also liking the addition of a camera which although is only 0.3 MP is still pretty good, I wonder how this will be incorperated into games? The lack of a GBA slot kinda saddens me as I tend to play quite a few GBA games but I suppose that just another reason to keep hold of my original DS. The only other bad point is the 2009 released date for the rest of the world which of course translates to USA getting it a few months after and Europe having to wait ages as usual, needless to say I'll still be preordering one.

Reggie said expect the release to be Deep into the 2009 calendar year.
Also, Brain Age 1 and 2 have been confirmed as downloadable apps for the store.
