I'm interested to know why everyone started collecting wrestling figures. Like if they have a story about why they began collecting.
I know for myself I had no plans on collecting them till I seen the The Hulk Hogan and Andre the Giant Wrestlemania 3, 2 pack which I thought was the only one I was interested in buying but once I had it I was looking through some more of them and seen Bobby Heenon and thought he would be a nice addition to it since he was involved in their match. then I thought a couple of others wouldn't hurt like Bret Hart and Roddy Piper etc to go next to them. Then the next thing I know I have 134 figures

Back in the early 2000's when a friend has purchased a mick foley for me as a gift, i was impressed with it and quite liked figures. Over the next few weeks i had the desire to buy some more. This kept going and the rest was history.

Why? Because I love wrestling, I've been a fan for 18 years.
How? It just went along with it. Got some Hasbros when I was a kid, then moved on to BCAs...finally in 2002 I got heavy into TTLs & the R3's then last Spring (2007) I started buying RA's, DA's & Classics like crazy and haven't stopped since

Been a WWF/WWE fan for years since the late 80s.
Went to my friend's house last year and saw his figures and i went wow!
After watching my first WWE live event last year in July, SD/ECW and meeting Micheel McCool and Tommy Dreamer backstage, i decided i wanted to collect them.
1 year and US$6000 or more later, i must have 300-400 figures at least!
And it's still going....

I was a young boy about 7 or so and I had been watching WWF since i was about 5 or so as i had an older brother and cousins who used to come round and watch at are house as we were the only ones, with the satellite TV too watch it. Went to a shop in a town near where i live and saw a Road Dog TTL figure and got it, the rest is history i have sadly parted ways with all my old ttl wcw figures and now have an extensive box of loose RA figures which from time to time i will play with ;D.

Iwas like 10 years old and bought a BCA HBK in 1997 and then I just kept buying and never grew out of it haha. I'll always dig "the wrestlers."

I remember being 12-15 and being a huge WCW mark. My brother and I started watching wrestling by getting into WCW, I'd say maybe a year before the nWo angle. I think they'd just come off the BatB Hogan/Flair match when I started watching.. Flair and Anderson feuding to lead into the Horsemen again was the first big angle I remember watching.
So my first collection of wrestling figures was just whatever we could throw together to represent the WCW guys. We had Galoobs of Flair, Anderson, Sting, and Luger... we used Doom for Harlem Heat.. a red Power Ranger was Rey Mysterio Jr. (and incidentally, the green ranger was Ultimo Dragon)... we had it all worked out.
So naturally, we marked out when they started making WCW figures (even if they sucked), and bought some of them. When the BCA's came out, oddly enough, that got me into WWF as well, as the figures rocked, so I payed more attention to the product. We'd use BCA's, the WCW figures, Galoob figs, and Hasbro figs in a big mish-mash of a fed.
Eventually we got into TTLs a bit... although I never bought that many cause I already had so many BCAs.. and I bought a few R3 figures... because while I was never really a fan of them.. here we had the nWo, Rock, Austin... all in scale with each other.
So RA/CS is my figure collecting wet dream.. I get almost every wrestler I could want from the past.. (if it isn't Sting, Owen, Savage, or Lyger it seems), and they're all to scale (let's not argue, they're close enough). And now Jakks is gonna get the TNA license and make 80 percent of the well known modern wrestlers that they haven't already made? Sweet.... completely sweet.
Here's hoping for a TNA Classics line as well. I can already see the first lineup.. Savage, Fallen Angel Christopher Daniels, Jerry Lynn, AJ Styles (in short tights), Ken Shamrock, and Jeff Jarrett. I'd mark out for that..

I've always collected wrestling figures but as far as CS is concerned, I started collecting on Halloween 06, I had been wasting all my money on a somewhat unhealthy lifestyle for years and after seeing CS figures in shops for a while and not buying any I decided it was a better thing to be spending my money on. The first CS figures I remember seeing were Gorilla Monsoon, Brutus Beefcake and Jimmy Hart. As a huge fan of Monsoon I was completely blown away by his announcer figure, it was what I'd always wanted, Beefcake also looked ridiculously good with all the accessories and cloth attire. However, the fact that Jimmy Hart was bigger than everyone else made me think that the people who made the figures knew nothing at all about the Superstars and had made a mistake by working from photos or something (I'd always hated Jakks anyway since they followed the beautiful Hasbros with those ugly BCAs and random sized other series) So the massive managers almost stopped me from ever collecting CS but I said that if they ever made LOD (in red of course) I would buy those. Then I saw the blue LOD on my birthday and thought that was odd, they also had the RSRv2 that day in Woolworths which looked very impressive and was possibly the only one ever sold at retail in the UK it seems. So I went home that day and looked up Classic Superstars on the internet and "WOW" I couldn't believe how many figures had been made (up to CS9 by then) and I saw the red LOD too. The first ones I actually bought were Monsoon (announcer) and Bam Bam (another lifelong favourite of mine) then the next day I got the Hogan/Andre Argos Ex then the next day I got Heenan, Woolworth had 25% off at the time so I got buses to as many branches as I could every day and managed to collect about 90% of CS2-10 for £6 each. I had every CS figure to date within 6 months and I haven't stopped yet, now I have 5 or 6 of some figures, I have well over a thousand RA style figures and still buy loads. It changed my life totally, for the better.

Nothing particular...i went to a store and saw a Randy Orton figure, it's summerslam in orange tights, and then i bought it...when home i started posing it on my shelf and liked to recreate his taunt and whatever...a few hours later i went to my car again and drove to the store to get some more to display with...then isaw CS3 in another store (only cs set we ever got here) and i was all wow! for them...i entered and exit the store 3 or 5 time and at the end of the day i got the whole set. Then, about 3 years later, i'm still collecting (buying figs online as we don't get new figs anymore here...last set we had was RA24 probably and we never got many sets before that...anyway not too bored about as figs were f'n expensive here, online are cheaper)...well, i now have about 725 figs in my collection and i'm sure not thinking to stop atleast as long as something similar to RA figs will bein stores.

BCAs - When I first started to watch wrestling, I wanted to put on my own matches.
Then I stopped, as they all went into storage.
Deluxe Aggressions - I played with Marvel Legends and TMP stuff and started to use them as wrestlers...Then I got DAs so I'd actually have WRESTLERS wrestling. (Now I just need a freakin' ring!)

I was a kid and I liked toys, and I liked wrestling... That's about the size of it.
As to why I've started collecting them again as an adult? Man, I'm sure that's something to do with deep-rooted psychological problems.
