It seems like every ten yrs theres a booming period in wrestling. Wrestling was huge in the late 80s and then hit another boom the late 90s. Were in the late 00s and have yet to see a jump in the ratings. Do you ever think the WWE will have ratings like it did in the late 90s and if so when will be the next booming period?

I doubt it, especially with the PG rating. And after seeing SummerSlam's buyrate...

I seriously don't get the PG rating... aside from the fact that they are the highest percentage of the audience (and that could easily be changed with a different product direction)
Seriously, everything about the world of wrestling is not really kid friendly, after all its supposed to be about guys beating other guys up... hell, past 9 o'clock in the UK, it even says its not suitable for children...

Kids are less demanding - also, people grow out of wrestling. A lot of the fanbase from ten years ago have grown up now. That fanbase needs replenishing. WWE have gone the option of trying to hook in new fans (who they can get another ten or twenty years out of) rather than winning back the old ones. Wrestling is very kid friendly, always has been. It's like a live action comic book, with all the spandex and muscles and whatnot. Wrestling could have another boom period, but it's dependent on a lot of factors. Look at what led to the boom period in the late 90s: -Nitro competing with Raw -The NWO -WCW overtaking the WWF -Vince admitting the product had lost its way -Vince having to let go of (and screw over) Bret Hart, the last traditional hero, freeing the way for a new direction (and creating "Mr McMahon" at the same time) -Austin, Rock, DX, Foley all rising up -The absolute perfect celebrity crossover with Mike Tyson -Crash TV style fitting the times As it stands, there is no clear-cut direction for wrestling to go in to innovate itself... And the talent base doesn't contain the excellent kind of top-level performers as Austin, Rock etc. WWE also lacks the environment for them to truly flourish like it did ten years ago. Nowadays, the top stars aren't really leaving. Undertaker, Michaels, HHH, Cena, Batista etc have been main-eventing for at least three years. The spaces aren't being freed up for new guys like they were when HBK got injured or Bret left etc.

I don't think it can ever get as good of ratings as the attitude era but hopefully it gets better rating then they currently get.

There isnt gonna be another booming period for another 5-10 years...It has nothing to do with the Attitude era, it has nothing to do with "guys that cant wrestle" It simply lays on the fact that wrestling is under a dark cloud with all the deaths and steroids in sports. We are just barely over a year past a double murder-suicide. Thats a big scar on professional wrestling and it will take awhile to get back from that. Its like the MLB strike in 1994, It took baseball 4 years before they ever hit any kind of boom again. Something will come along that nobody expects or sees and put wrestling back on the map. Until they we just have to sit around and take whats given to us

No because the product has become over exposed in almost every area of the world.

I'm thinking there will be, but the gap between the last two booms (hulkamania era and attitude) is peanuts compared to the gap between the last and next. When the boom happens, it'll probably be for reasons completely unrelated to the present time and the roster will have been completely turned over.

Booming periods aren't that favorable to me as it leaves less good seats available, crappy figures on the shelves. I can see it coming back around though real soon.

The bad thing for us international fans is that if WWE start doing really well in the US again, they won't need to bother with the foreign tours as much.
