*The Scene: A park. Mid-day. Winter. Fresh snow has fallen on the ground, and there's kids out playing, building snowmen, having snow ball fights, etc. The camera pans the scene, coming to rest on one particular group of kids. They all have similar facial features, and all have blonde hair. These are the Ashtons: Johnny, the oldest, Aaron, the middle, and Anna, the youngest. They're building a snowman, and Aaron seems to be having a little trouble forming the ball for the middle.*
Johnny: Jeez, Aaron. You're still working on that thing?
Aaron: I'll get it! Don't worry! You just finish the head.
Johnny: The head's been finished, Aaron. We're waiting on you now.
Anna: Come on, Aaron! I could've had that thing done already!
Aaron: Get off my back! Both of you!
*Johnny comes up from behind Aaron, pushes him to the side, and continues the work Aaron was doing. Aaron stumbles, falling into the fresh snow. As he lays for a moment, fuming, his anger almost melts the snow around him. Aaron gets to his feet, walks over, and punches Johnny in the mouth. Johnny stumbles, dazed for a second, then reaches a hand to his mouth. Seeing the crimson red spot on his fingers, he looks at Aaron.*
Johnny: You're dead!
*Aaron and Johnny both start fighting, and rolling in the snow. Johnny gets Aaron pinned down, and starts slugging him in the face and body. Unbeknownst to the boys, Anna has run off to get their mother, Mary.
Anna: See, mommy? They're fighting again!
Mary: Yes, I see. Boys! Knock it off! Now!
*Mary goes over, and pulls Johnny off of Aaron, who is now bleeding from the nose and lip. Aaron seizes this opportunity, diving up and tackling Johnny. This doesn't last long, as Mary already has Aaron by the arm, dragging him off.*
Mary: Knock it off! Both of you! Just stop!
Aaron: He started it!
Johnny: Nuh uh! He hit me!
Aaron: Well, he pushed me first!
Mary: I don't care who started it! I'm ending it! Both of you, home, now!
*All four of them walk off toward their house. Johnny leads the way, with Anna close behind. Aaron walks in the back with his mother.*
Mary: You can't keep doing this, Aaron. Your father and I won't stand for it.
Aaron: What did I do wrong?! He pushed me, so I fought back. I thought that's what you wanted me to do.
Mary: We do. But it's happening so frequently, that we're beginning to wonder if anyone else is starting it, or if you're just fighting to fight.
Aaron: I can't believe you're taking his side! That's stupid!
Mary: I'm not taking anyone's side. I just think you need to control your temper a little better. OK?
Aaron: Whatever.
*With that, Aaron falls back from the group, walking on his own. The camera fades to dark, then fades up on an older Aaron Ashton, sitting in a therapist's office*
Aaron: She always took his side. He was the favorite, and Anna was the second. They never cared for me. They gave me gifts to shut me up, and lavished the both of them with love. It makes me sick to this day to think about it.
Dr. Anderson: I don't really think that's the way it was. I don't think your parents would intentionally do that to you.
Aaron: Well, you weren't there, were you? How would you know what was done and what wasn't? How do you know what went on? In fact, why am I paying you my hard earned money if you don't even believe what I'm telling you?
*Aaron looks at his watch*
Aaron: Damn. I gotta go, anyways. It was...well..good talking to you, doc. I don't think I'll be back. So, good bye.
*Aaron stands, grabbing a duffle bag and his coat. He exits the office, and heads out the exit to the parking lot. He starts his car, then sits there. Staring at the steering wheel, he feels the rage returning when he thinks about the cold December day. He smiles then, knowing the rage is now intended for tonight's opponent. He puts the car in reverse, and pulls out of the parking lot.*
Aaron: Gonna be a good night tonight.
*Camera cuts off
