Here I go being the newb again. Civil War...where do I start? You can get the Civil War trade that collects all of the main issues and Road to Civil War to get some key issues building up to the arc. If you want all of the tie ins, there are a lot of trades to get.

Yea I started researching it. I'll probably just pick up the main story and the Road to...maybe some of the Frontlines if I dig it.
Spank you kindly.

I'm going to assume, living in Jersey, that you have some sort of comic/collectibles shows from time to time in the area (how close are you to NYC?). Wait for those - something happened, I'm not sure what, but just about every retailer I know has come across huge surplus of 2007/2008 frame Marvel trades, and typically will push them out at $5 a pop at these things.

Apparently, comic retailers are given the opportunity to purchase pallet loads of trades returned to the vendors by major retailers like Borders and B&N, which is how discount trades come in to play. Usually the deal is $5 trades, $10 hardcovers, sometimes split in the middle $7 for everything.

Get Green Lantern 43, 44, Blackest Night 1, all of the Blackest Night out this week, and the Blackest Night tales of the corps books. Also, I strongly advise you to pick up the Sinestro Corps War, hell, even start at Green Lantern Rebirth and read everything up until now, because Johns on Lantern is that good. I say give Red Robin a go. Don't be pressed to pick up Batman, it's really not that good especially when it comes out up against Morrisons Batman & Robin.

Thanks joe, I think I'm gonna start at rebirth because I hear the sinestro corps War is great so if I'm gonna go that far back why not go to the begining.
Also yeah I haven't been picking up Batman. I have only been reading batman and Robin.

Batman has been fantastic right now. While Morrison's B&R has laid the focus on the new duo fitting into their new roles, Batman has been more focused on Dick finding his new way within the city (and the story is a direct follow up to the events in Battle For The Cowl) - with awesome art by Mark Bagley!

I think my main problem with it is that I don't like the way Winick writes most of the characters, though I do appreciate all of the attention on Grayson. I did love the way Alfred was written in 687 though. Am I "all right"? No, sir. I am not. My son has died. Incredible line right there.

Can anyone recommend any decent places to buy trades online besides instocktrades.com?

Amazon is amazing. It's usually around 10-13 bucks for trades. You can always count on them to be just about half off, if not more, than in stores.

Yea I've been relying on them as well...just trying to avoid the temptation of maxing out my Amazon Visa AGAIN, ha.

Death of Captain America, Captain America Reborn (once its collected), basically Brubaker's entire run on Cap is a great Red Skull story as he's involved in the whole book for the entire run. most of the older Red Skull stories havent been collected. you'd have to track down single issues. also alot of Red Skull stories are built up for a long time and are usually a recurring story in each issue. he manipulates alot of what goes on behind the scenes.

I'm looking to get into Jonah Hex, does anyone have any recommendations on what to start with or what to look into? I was thinking of buying the Showcase Presents, are there any others I should go for as well or instead?
