I'm probably late for this subject, but what do you guys think? When we first saw Angle was coming, I, like a bunch of other fans were very excited to see this. Dream matches, TNA rising, etc. But we barely got any dream matches, TNA has only gone up one step, when they could've jumped up 3 steps, and their ratings have bounced in the 1's for a year and a half. I myself think Angle saw he wasn't getting the belt again in WWE, and knew he could control TNA, and he did. Hell, the whole family is running the show. It's sad when Kurt's 4-5 year old daughter gets more TV time then people who could actually give the company money. And now they're turning AJ Styles to crapover time. It was what, two and a half years ago when AJ was the face of TNA? And Joe was about to get a HUGE push? And Angle came, and literally poisoned TNA. Now, you CAN blame Mantell and Russo for all of this, but personally, I think Angle has a HUGE part in making iMPACT the worst TV program of 2007, and it'll probably be the worst of 2008.
I know this will get me bashed in some form, so go ahead, do as you please.

I kinda agree but it's the bookers who push him though? It does feel like the angle show lately..

I don't know if Angle himself " ruined" TNA, but I have noticed that TNA started going downhill pretty much exactly when he came in. That's the exact moment I point to when saying that TNA became WWE-Lite. Sure it had been coming with signings like Sting & Christian, but TNA was still entertaining for most of 2006.

Well, I'm glad I have some partial agreements, I thought this would get bashed right from the start.

I agree as well I was excited when I found out Angle was coming to TNA but shortly after that I sorta lost interest in TNA because it was nothing but Angle an now we have Karen plus Kurt so even more Angle Television to come

Angle's debut pretty much resulted in the downfall of Samoa Joe... -- I think you're right, Angle sort of took over Joe's "upcoming" spot in the company. But I like Russo's booking, art imitating life, alla Joe being upset and he has every right to be. It makes for good sports entertainment IMO. But, I think TNA ruined Angle. When I heard about "The Wrestling Machine" coming to TNA, I thought HELL YES .... and within 6 months, that wrestling machine personna Angle brought from the fed over to TNA, had been completly dissolved. He's still a badass guy in the ring, but his charactor now isn't the same. However in the long run, I see TNA's point of view for booking Angle like they do. Yesteryday it was Jeff Jarrett. Today it's Kurt Angle. You sort of HAVE To Have that 1 guy to put the company on their shoulderes. Angle has experience carrying the fed. Joe hasn't carried a mainstream company before. It only makes sense right now. I think in about a year from now, TNA will feel more comfortable about putting themselves on Joe's shoulder, and we'll see JOE as the face of TNA.

What I think hurt TNA the most was when Angle held all TNA's gold for a good while... it destroyed the order of the seperate divisions and they still have yet to recover... Tag and X-division in particular.
And from there... so many other problems exist...
-overkill of comedy acts -overkill of backstage segments -overkill of WrestleCrap gimmicks (Mesias, Rock'n Rave, Black Reign, Rellik) -overkill of Russo-riffic gimmick matches -overkill of managers/valets -weak storytelling in anything that isn't the main event -weak character development in anyone who isn't in the main event or a former WWE guy -guys being utilized that people don't care about while guys that have a lot to offer are shafted -lack of a strong identity with all the 'WWE reminders' -poor build for PPV matches -poor booking of PPV matches

one of the only good things i've liked about tna recently is mcmg and lethal getting tv time, even then though lethals gimmick is a rip off macho man, but i do find it entertaining

You don't think tying up all the belts in one storyline for a good fourth months had an impact on why the Tag and X-divisions aren't a fraction of what they used to be? Yup, ok. That's subjective for ya... Also I'm interested to hear the reasons why you think TNA has poor build and booking for PPVs that I didn't already list...

I was against Angle in TNA becuase I believed his health was bad and going to a place where most spot wrestle would be bad. But now he is one of the only reason I occassionally tune it. Its sad when your second favorite of all time cant really get you to watch because terrible booking decisions

Yeah, wait till Sodaguy gets here, then it will be bashed. Awww. You care about me. If you didn't you wouldn't have brought my name in to it. So, do me a favor & off. Shef, I agree but dis-agree with you. The one thing I dis-agree with is the whole family running the show. Karen has said it herself that her "stint" in TNA was suppose to be short but they (TNA Mangement) liked her so much & kept her around. Kyra has only been on 3 shows since August 2007 (First show, wedding & I think there is another one) & took up maybe a grand total of 30 minutes on all 3 of them. The thing about AJ is that they are building him back up. I'm sorry but I'm a HUGE AJ Styles mark & is the reason I started watching TNA week in but AJ couldn't do much more as he was. And he is in the main event scene what EVERYONE wanted. What more do you want? I agree that he gets way to much time but he only had 2 parts in last nights show & one was a match so it looks like they are slacking down on them.

I think in about a year from now, TNA will feel more comfortable about putting themselves on Joe's shoulder, and we'll see JOE as the face of TNA. No offense dude, but I've been hearing that for the last two years. You're talking to someone with hardly any hope left. Wasn't AJ Styles the face of TNA and one point? Yeah, clearly TNA is a little shaky about having homegrowns headline. Joe had all the build up in the world. He was an unstoppable force that hadn't been pinned or submitted throughout his run in the X-division. Then a win over Scott Steiner and even over NWA champion Jeff Jarrett. Then what happens next? Kurt Angle debuts and Joe lost his steam.
