I was reading the statistics page on WWE.com earlier... it says
"WWE.com consistently attracts one of the web's largest concentrations of the much sought-after 18-34 year-old male demographic as well as other key demographic segments (males 12-17, 2-17, 18-49) both domestically and internationally."
This got me thinking... what is it that draws people to watch pro wrestling?
What is it about pro wrestling that makes you tune in every week to watch?
I am curious to hear peoples answers.

Entertainment for me.Pro wrestling gives you (me anyway) this excitement that I can't find in anything else, sports or otherwise.

what i don't get about that statistic is that inspite of it, wwe is going backwards and making their show pg. not that i miss the stupid craplike hot lesbian action but i do miss the violence blood and language that i've come to expect from wrestling.

I don't watch it as much as I used to (work) but when I was a kid it was like there was real life super heroes/villians on TV. Hogan, Warrior, Savage, LOD, Demolition etc. It was fun always cheering for the good guy to beat the bad guy then.

For the casual fan it's a soap opera with fighting... over the top characters and a cliffhanger at the end of every show... even if it is to the extent of "What'll happen next week?"
It is like that for me as well though (like the majority of the IWC) I see it more as a team effort performance... something to be analyzed, compared with the passed, etc.

Its the vibe of addictiveness that keeps me tuning in. I love seeing different kinds of wrestlers, storylines, catchphrases and other stuff. most important is the entertainment that you will never see anywhere else.

I think its because there are so many wrestlers, you really can pick out one thats your favorite and watch them grow as a star. Its got everything, the drama, the action, and sometimes even the outlandish.

Sport give you one thing... Entertainment such as tv shows gives you another... put them together and you get something else that you don't find anywhere else

To me it's all about excitement, the drama, and the entertainment a pro wrestling show can give to you. I've always said that when done right Pro Wrestling (whether it was WWE, WCW, NWA, TNA, ECW, etc.) is the greatest form of entertainment on the face of the earth. When done wrong (I.E. 1995 WWE, WWE at present) it's total garbage.

I watch because it's like a completely different society/reality.
When I watch wrestling, whether it be Raw, Impact or SD... I just kinda forget about the grown up me and still feel like it links me to my youth and the wrestling culture.
