TNA's public offer to Alaska Governor Sarah Palin to become an honorary member of The Beautiful People at their Final Resolution PPV may not result in an actual appearance from the one-time Vice Presidential candidate, but it has resulted in a lot of TNA mentions in different areas of the media world. The following media sources picked up the story in the last 24 hours:
-- FOX Sports -- Orlando Sentinel -- TheExaminer.com -- Baltimore Sun
Whether any of this leads to some sort of renewed interest in TNA remains to be seen.

This is just Russo trying to get TNA some publicity, at the cost of the in ring action. People do not come to wrestling events or watch wrestling, despite what Russo thinks, to see political figures. I know this is a new concept, but I think they come to see wrestling.

Some good free publicity on some quality shows and good exposure. Nice idea.

No, it's got to be either Jeff or Dixie's idea - most likley Dixies.

And of course, if she did take the offer, the media would react the same way as they did with Pac-man...by scoldng the celebrity for associating themselves with TNA, instead of vice versa.

I actually like the idea and it is good exposure for tna. The pacman thing coulda worked if Pac man was actually had become a wrestler. But the fac that he couldnt wrestle plus the timing was bad. Pac was just gettin outta trouble and TNA was just trying to get things off the ground with Spike/2hour programming. Whether or not it was an attempt to be risque or not who knows but all those factors considered, it flopped.

It's a great idea to get exposure - plus anytime I get to look at Sara Palin, I'm not gonna complain.

I think this is actually a good idea for TNA. Bringing in Pacman Jones, Mongo, Frank Wycheck, etc doesn't do anything. They are sports figures who really aren't that popular, contrary to what TNA thinks. But with Palin, she is a household name at this point. And that leads to actual exposure, not just exposure restricted to sports sites only. I figure she won't end up coming, but none of this could hurt them anyway.

It's good for the company but TERRIBLE for the existing fans as it cuts down on the amount of wrestling they actually get to see... though APPARENTLY wrestling companies are supposed to NOT focus on in ring action anymore...
