Am I the only one who thinks they have way too many Tag matches on PPV's, especially with the World Champion involved?? This doesn't make sense to me to do this. I can't imagine it helps buy rates, because you know the title won't change hand, and these are matches that should be used on Impact.

It doesn't make sense? If look at Destination X's main event with The Angle Allaince and Joe/Cage/Nash it does make sense. Joe basically told you why he wasn't getting the title shot on iMPACT. He knows he can't have a fair match with the Alliance backing Kurt therfore he's got to take out the Alliance at DX 2008. Makes sense to me..

I get what you mean. Like if Im going to drop the money on a PPV, Id like for there to be a title match involved. Tag team main events, while they can make sense story line wise, are better off on Impact, than on a ppv that Im paying thirty bucks for.

I'm sure when he said "this doesn't make sense" he means from a business/booking standpoint, not a storyline standpoint... and I agree. TNA doesn't place enough emphasis on their titles, much like WWE. Both companies disregard the promotional power of a title belt. The number one thing I gathered from TNA's 2007 PPV buyrates is that two guys who want to kill eachother over a world title sells. People pay to see resolution and one champion standing strong... not another "link in the chain" of an ongoing storyline. If TNA bothers to grow as a promotion, they really should start booking and promoting more of these blood feuds beyond Angle vs Joe... think UFC, not As the World Turns.

They have so many tag team matches because they try to cram the entire roster onto pay per views. It's amusing.

You can never have too many tag team matches. The regular two man teams, anyway.

Yeah but that doesn't interest the fans like me who watch iMPACT and buy some PPV's. Why would I buy a PPV with a 6-man tag at the main event? Didn't they do something like this at Turning Point with different people? I want to see a World Title Match, not a tag match unless it was 5* match but I wouldn't expect that in this one.

The title isn't defended that month. So what? When was the last time the tag and IC titles were defended? When was the last time there was a CW champion period?!

LOL, and WWE doesn't even care about tag matches and tag titles.

I think ppv's should be laoded with title bouts and these gimmick type matches should be on regular tv. the six man match as the ME for a ppv is really dumb. Sure it's a high profile match but coulda been done on impact. If there was more on the line like, the tag titles/the world titles then that would be great but just a 6 man with really nothing on the line is not a smart booking move for a ppv. I was/am kinda hoping someone steps in and does something like whoever pins tomko, angle, aj..one of those three...then that person gets their title. And i'm not buying the story of "joe has to take care of the Angle alliance before going to Lockdown" thing. It does nothing to really push the match to the next level and is something, again, that could be taken care of on impact.

The Main Event for DX doesn't scream Main Event for a PPV imo.

In all honsesty TNA cant afford to not make their PPV's must see. Now, I'm not saying that these matches wont be good, but like the original psoter suggested, it doesnt do much to really draw people in...You've gotta have something that the casual fan will pay to see. Again, I think the 6 man match is a good high profile match, but not ppv worthy, not unless it's got more on the line.

Storyline wise, it does make perfect sense. But just because something makes sense to a storyline... doesn't mean I want to see it. Especially if I have to pay for it. I mean, storyline wise it would make sense for Scott Steiner to get a World and X Division title shot, but never in a million years would I want to see Steiner/Angle or Steiner Lethal. Or Steiner/anyone really. Scott Steiner. What were we talking about again?
