For all we know WWE may not last another 10 years (probably will, but you never know)

They sure as hell have a lot of faith in him. He's still pretty young too and has a lot to offer. Nothing but good on both sides here.

I wouldn't take it. You never know what can happen within the next 10 years. See Bret Hart.

If I were Randy I would take it and run. WWE needs Orton to be a big star...whether or not he will be... I cant answer that

The only other people I know of who had this contract were Mark Henry and Brock Lesnar. It got Lesnar in trouble in the end so unless he's sure he'll be competing for the WWE for another 10 years.

They did the same with Mark Henry (a long time ago). Up until a few years back that wasn't exactly the greatest idea. However, Orton's a completely different case. In all honesty, I really couldn't see him anywhere else but the WWE.

TNA wouldn't deserve Orton if he ever left IMO. I'm not trying to start a fight or anything. That's just how I feel and I refuse to explain myself. If you don't want to explain yourself, then don't post extreme statements. Anyway, a 10 year contract has potential to end very badly for both sides. For Orton.. well TNA I wouldn't worry about. Orton would never wrestle for them, unless he burned his bridges with WWE (which doesnt seem to be possible at this stage) and was in a bad financial situation (as they would never pay as much as WWE do, and orton seems comfortable with the WWE travel schedule). A 10 year contract means that if he turns out to be a great singer, actor, writer or manages to display any talent outside of wrestling, he can do nothing about it, as everything he does will have to be approved by WWE and will therefore mostly be a WWE project. Something that could be intensely frustrating. For WWE.. Well.. It's Orton. He's an ass hole and carries a very bad reputation with him. A ten year contract doesn't give immunity to drug testing or attitude/arrogance in public places. There's only so many hotel rooms you can smash and drug tests you can dodge before your number is called. The good side is that on TV, Orton is over with the audience, is a reliable wrestler, can cope with dealing with ratings, is used to representing the company in official situations, can work the internet "smarkz" and is willing to be in character a lot of the time he's outside the ring. If i were Orton, i'd ask for a 5 year contract. If i were WWE, I'd offer it. It got Lesnar in trouble in the end so unless he's sure he'll be competing for the WWE for another 10 years. I don't believe Lesnar was ever signed for ten years. His contract had expired after WrestleMania XX, and he chose to leave. It was his attitude that put him on sh*t street.

I'd say Orton should accept the deal... I mean, it's essentially guaranteed money for 10 years and the WWE seem to have a boatload of faith in him that could last a long time... he could easily be a staple of the WWE, the only other people currently employed in the WWE I could see them offering this kind of deal to would be John Cena or MAYBE Edge but Edge would be 45 at the end of such a deal...

I mean, all it takes is one serious injury, and it can easily happen in wrestling, and thats your career over. If WWE can't use you in the ring, a person like orton can only be a GM or a manager for a few months before people get bored. Then you have a few years of being under contract ot a company you can't work for. Most likely making a pre-arranged annual wage that would most likely not be much per week (especially if you live an expensive lifestyle.

His contract had expired after WrestleMania XX, and he chose to leave. It was his attitude that put him on sh*t street. It was way after WM20 that Lesnar was out of his contract. That's why they had to keep going to court. And Lesnars lawyers saying "Brock will not be able to provide for himself if he is not able to work." After he decided to leave the NFL because he got put on the vikings practice team.

This isn't a big deal here because Undertaker and Michaels both have lifetime deals.
