Unfortunatley I have no clue who either of the wrestlers in the first match are. Sadly... 3:59 for stamboli/BookeR? Eww...... Tag Team Tournament should be interesting. Oh god, Blietzkrieg again I'll probably have to wikipedia him...right he didnt last the year 1999 in wrestling. JOB HIM OUT! JOB HIM OUT! good that kidman/mysterio's team won, though.Yay, people I no (or atleast Malenko/Benoit) good they got the 1...2...3 in this match. Tag Champs please? i'd of preferred Psychosis/Juventud to get the win in this tag match but still Hennig/Windham winning isn't a disaster although I'd preferr Perfect as a singles run. Bam Bam > Saturn... fair enough. DDP winning well he was never gonna lose, was he DTPNever heard of Disco Inferno hence I'm happy Scott got the win... Wrath and Hardcore Hak... again never seen any of there work. The WCW belt being defended on nitro seems a bit off too me. Not a Nash or Goldberg fan preferr Goldberg, though.

Don't know who the two dudes in the first match are. Is Kendall actually Barry's bro, or is it kayfabe? I liked the WWF reference. I'm not a fan of Booker's match going less than the opening bout. He is a far better worker and should be at the other end of the card. Really like the Naitch segment but David being back is not too good. I am not a fan of his in general. You dissed Godfather Chavo for Cruiserweight Champ please? I like Benoit and Malenko so them winning in the tag match is great. Push them to the tag championships and you will have an instant reader. Nice Hulk segment but somehow I see him coming back soon. Hennig shouldn't be in WCW he should be where he belongs, but if he achieves great things you are ok. Who Better Than Kanyon? But in all seriousness I can see this becoming a formidable trio Glad Bam Bam looked dominant especially now that he has a new stable to back up. I don't like Glenn Gilberti in the slightest so I am glad Steiner crushed him. Woop! Axe kick on Bagwell= instant win LLLLWWWOOO are great. Eddie was in a car accident on January 1st? Liked the Luger/DDP match I am a fan of both men so was glad to see the outcome regardless of who won the match. DDP picking up the win is cool since I have talked to him Just call him Sandman pleasse. I don't know who Wrath is but the whole Raven coming in thing is absolutely brilliant I want to see Sand---- I mean Hak feud with him. Sounds like a great match between Nash and Goldberg. Hogan sucks. But glad Nash won anyway. He rocks. I really enjoyed most of the show however there were some cons but I can deal with this and keep reading

I'm really surprised that you've decided to go with Kevin Nash instead of Goldberg for the victory.
I'm real interested in this Hall/Hogan combo, as for Hogan trying to trip Goldberg, etc etc. It's just interesting that it would be Hogan/Hall vs. Goldberg/Nash, it seems like.
Interesting Hulk Hogan interview, trying to steal a Hart reference. New Jersey Triad debuting is pretty good, hopefully you can push New Jersey Triad better than the real WCW.
I'm liking this so far. I'm curious to see what is going on with the Main Event scene, that is.

WRESTLE-NET: COVERAGE OF THE MONDAY NIGHT WARS! - WCW are now once again the number one wrestling promotion in the world. Monday Nitro assisted that, scoring a 5.33 to WWF RAW's 4.99.
- The following teams will be taking part in the WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament, courtesy of WCW.com: Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko Faces of Fear Curt Hennig and Barry Windham Psychosis and Juventud Guerrera The Armstrongs Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon High Voltage Ciclope and Super Calo.
This tournament will end at Souled Out on January 24th. The date has changed indeed, read below for more.
- Latino World Order will be ending soon. It was just a herd of Mexican wrestlers in some unstable faction led by the now injured Eddie Guerrero. Psychosis and Juventud Guerrera will be teaming long-term.
- Hollywood Hogan and Bill Goldberg will most likely feud into Spring Stampede.
- Chavo Guerrero Jr will soon be changing from the crazy gimmick into a cool, cocky heelish gimmick. This is to go with his pinfall victory over WCW World Cruiserweight Champion, Billy Kidman last night on Monday Nitro. Those two are expected to feud into Souled Out. Chavo could possibly feud with Eddie Guerrero once again, only the roles reversed if Eddie is still able to wrestle.
- Ric Flair spoke the truth in his Presidential promo last night. World Championship Wrestling have contacted various female stars from around the world including Bull Nakano, ECW women Angelica and Jazz as well as Canadian fitness model, Trish Stratigias for the new WCW World Womens Championship. This will activate following Souled Out.
- Sting will return after Superbrawl in February. He has recently taken months off but has shown interest in returning to feud with Raven. This will most likely cut off Raven and Hardcore Hak's feud at Superbrawl in some sort of mild-mannered hardcore match.
- Rob Van Dam was shockingly and suprisingly let go from his ECW contract last night. Very weird indeed, it could be that WCW will pick him up.
- Expect a roster clear-out during February. This was announced by Eric Bischoff after seeing the opener on Nitro last night between Kendall Windham and Prince Iaukea. Those two, if released, would probably be not suprising by fans.
- Bret Hart will be entering the WCW World Heavyweight Championship division between now and Uncensored. He will first drop the WCW US Heavyweight Championship [it is possible that he won't drop it to British Bulldog though]. Hart has shown interest in another program with Ric Flair.
- This is the pay-per-view calendar for every big promotion in 1999:
WWF Royal Rumble - Sunday 17th January 1999 [Anaheim, California] WCW Souled Out - Sunday 24th January 1999 [Charleston, West Virginia] WWF No Way Out - Sunday 21st February 1999 [Memphis, Tennessee] WCW Superbrawl IX - Sunday 21st February 1999 [Oakland, California] WWF WrestleMania XV - Sunday 14th March 1999 [Philadelphia, Pennsylvania] ECW Living Dangerously – Sunday 14th March 1999 [Philadelphia, Pennsylvania] WCW Uncensored - Sunday 14th March 1999 [Louisville, Kentucky] WCW Spring Stampede - Sunday 11th April 1999 [Tacoma, Washington] WWF Backlash - Sunday 18th April [Providence, Rhode Island] WCW Slamboree - Sunday 9th May 1999 [St Louis, Missouri] WWF Over The Edge - Sunday 16th May 1999 [Kansas City, Missouri] ECW Hardcore Heaven – Sunday 30th May 1999 [Philadelphia, Pennsylvania] WCW Great American Bash - Sunday 13th June 1999 [Baltimore, Maryland] WWF King of the Ring - Sunday 20th June 1999 [Greensboro, North Carolina] ECW Heatwave – Sunday 11th July 1999 [Philadelphia, Pennsylvania] WCW Bash At The Beach - Sunday 11th July 1999 [Fort Lauderdale, Florida] WWF Fully Loaded - Sunday 25th July 1999 [Buffalo, New York] WCW Road Wild - Saturday 14th August 1999 [Sturgis, North Dakota] WWF SummerSlam - Sunday 15th August 1999 [Minneapolis, Minnesota] WCW Fall Brawl - Sunday 12th September 1999 [Winston-Salem, North Carolina] ECW Anarchy Rulz – Sunday 19th September 1999 [Philadelphia, Pennsylvania] WWF Unforgiven - Sunday 19th September 1999 [Charlotte, North Carolina] WCW Halloween Havoc - Sunday 24th October 1999 [Las Vegas, Nevada] WWF No Mercy - Sunday 24th October 1999 [Cleveland, Ohio] ECW November 2 Remember – Sunday 21st November [Philadelphia, Pennsylvania] WCW Mayhem - Sunday 21st November 1999 [Toronto, Ontario] WWF Survivor Series - Sunday 28th November 1999 [Detroit, Michigan] WCW Starrcade - Sunday 19th December 1999 [Washington DC] WWF Armageddon - Sunday 26th December 1999 [Fort Lauderdale, Florida]

WRESTLE-NET: COVERAGE OF THE MONDAY NIGHT WARS! Daniel Peterson here, my friend attended a live event in Mobile, Alabama last night, here is what he told me to type down.
WCW LIVE Wednesday 6th January 1999
- Nitro Girls kicked off the show wearing orange. Looked good on the black girl.
- Glacier and Hector Garza defeated Ernest Miller and Ciclope in 4:56. Not a whole lot went on, just a filler to open up the show, confusingly. Glacier went after Miller all the time, Hector Garza was looking good out there. Glacier with a Cryonic Kick on Ciclope finished things off, the crowd awed at Ciclope and Garza's skills. *
- David Penzer put over the merchandise.
- More Nitro Girls, this time in police attires.
- Hugh Morrus defeated Norman Smiley in 6:42. The crowd popped for Smiley as he continuously did the ever-annoying 'Big Wiggle'. Morrus it some power moves, simply picking apart at Smiley. Jimmy Hart was at ringside, Smiley went after him following Hart breaking up one of Smiley's pinfall attempts. Morrus laid Smiley out, the No Laughing Matter finished it. *1/4
- Konnan, Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell cut a promo, dissing Alabama, Lynyrd Skynyrd's song and WCW. Decent promo, my friend says. Booker T came out and took out everybody, calling out all three of them to a match later on.
- Nitro Girls in red to some rave music.
- Elix Skipper came out and cut a pre-match promo, probably his first promo in World Championship Wrestling, too. Skipper sounded alright, but there was room for improvement, my friend said.
- Billy Kidman defeated Elix Skipper and Blitzkrieg to retain the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship in 9:24. This was a good match, great three way action between three good talent. Kidman was over as Skipper, who is still new really, got some heat probably from his pre-match promo. Skipper could of won the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship one a few occasions, but Blitzkrieg was there to break it up. Blitzkrieg hit the Stardust Press on Skipper, Kidman took Blitzkrieg out with a legscissors and then hit the Shooting Star Press for the win. **3/4
- Chris Jericho came out and cut a fun little promo. He insulted and joked about Perry Saturn before he came out. Both were over.
- Perry Saturn defeated Chris Jericho in 11:12. Good mat-wrestling here between Saturn and Jericho, both men did a good job in that ring. This match was more based around Jericho going after the back and Saturn going after the arm. This match was inside and outside of the ring, it was pretty much no holds barred rules. There was some awe-impressive reversals in this one, too. A good back-and-forth match, had a lot of false finishes and kick-outs, the Rings of Saturn finished it. **1/2
- Dean Malenko and Chris Benoit defeated Hugh Morrus and Jerry Flynn in 7:36. This was a suprisingly decent match between two teams. Jimmy Hart and Brian Knobbs were both at ringside, Dean Malenko and Morrus starting off. Morrus took control, double-teaming by the First Family. Benoit got a tag at last, went on a roll and then got worked over again by Jimmy Hart's First Family. Benoit regained momentum, tag to Malenko, tornado tag action before a Powerbomb by Benoit. Malenko applied the Texas Cloverleaf on Morrus, Benoit with the Crossface on Flynn and it was over. *3/4
- Scott Hall came out and cut a promo about Kevin Nash and Bill Goldberg. Geez, does Hall know this is a house show, not WCW television?
- David Penzer hyped the main event between Goldberg and Diamond Dallas Page.
- Booker T, Juventud Guerrera and Lex Luger defeated Scott Steiner, Konnan and Buff Bagwell in 14:05. This match was reportedly chaos. These six men just brawled all over the place. My friend informs me that it involved three different styles, from the lucha-libre-esque style between Juventud Guerrera and Konnan to the technical wrestling between Booker and Bagwell to the hard-hitting brawler moves from Luger and Steiner. This match got the crowd going loudly. Juvi got worked over by the three nWo wrestlers before Booker got the tag but soon, he also got worked over. Booker got the tag to Luger as all six men got in there. The Torture Rack by Luger on Bagwell and this was done with. **3/4
- More hype for the main event between Bill Goldberg and Diamond Dallas Page.
- Bill Goldberg defeated Diamond Dallas Page in 16:05. This was a great way to finish off this live event. The audience were obviously into it, Goldberg continuously overpowered DDP, he tells me that this match was a lot like the no disqualification match these two had at Halloween Havoc, only without weapons. The New Jersey Triad, Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon wandered down to ringside at the mid-match point but Goldberg took both out repeatedly. Goldberg hit the Spear but Bam Bam splashed Goldberg, leading to the disqualification. The Triad all ganged up on Goldberg before they were all thrown around by the vicious Goldberg. Bill cleared house, standing tall before my friend left. **3/4
Overall, my friend had a good time, though the first two matches were extremely worthless. He marked out as though he had never marked out before. He said the second half of the show was better and that he gives this a thumbs up. *1/2

I'm not a massive fan of some of the WCW roster from this period, but what I've read so far has been pretty good. The cruiserweight triple threat was good, and it's nice to see the cruiserweights getting good ring time Sucks that Saturn went over Jericho, since I was really hoping Jericho would go over. The six man tag was cool, and it's wierd to see Juvi involved in such a big match. Good to see Goldberg getting the win, and it's great to see the Jersey Triad, certainly brings back memorys.

This is fantastic. I think we've found one of the elite sims bookers on her. You're making smart decisions with wrestlers, although I would like to see some more development of young talent. It's not the best crop of talent, but you're coping really well.
Psychosis and Juventud ftw in the tag team tournament btw.

WRESTLE-NET: THUNDER THIS THURSDAY; COVERAGE! Richmond, Virginia - Thursday 7th January 1999- The show starts off with a video package hyping up the recent happenings in World Championship Wrestling, reminding us of all of the happenings gone on from Monday Nitro this past week. It highlights Ric Flair's announcements from the beginning of the WCW World Tag Team Championship tournament to Nitro's big rematch for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship between Bill Goldberg and Kevin Nash, Nash winning after unwanted interference from Scott Hall and the supposedly retired Hollywood Hogan. - The usual opening video package, showing us of several WCW superstars hitting moves on others to the background noise of thunder as rain shadows them. We go to the live arena where announcers Mike Tenay, Larry Zbyszko and Dusty Rhodes are seated and they run down tonight's card for WCW Thunder. - We kick things off as the theme of the New World Order plays loudly into the arena. Scott Hall cockily walks out as he fools around on the stage, messing around with the fans in attendance before finally entering the ring. He is then interviewed by Gene Okerlund, who proceeds to ask why Scott Hall did what he did and got in both Bill Goldberg and Kevin Nash's way. Hall owns Gene, saying that he wasn't any burden to Goldberg last Monday night, that was Hollywood Hogan. Hall says that Hogan confronted him backstage after his promo with Gene Okerlund in which Hogan asked if he wants to remake the nWo into being the number one authorization in professional wrestling. Hall accepted, reportedly because Hogan said that Hall would be the top dog, unlike when Hall, Nash and Hogan were all one unit in 1996, Nash being the number two guy. Kevin Nash, the WCW World Heavyweight Champion then came out as he got on the mic accepting Hall's decision to do what he did before challenging Scott Hall to a match for his WCW Championship at WCW Souled Out. Enough said, Hall accepted, he got hyper as we went to commercials. - A promo for the 01/09/1999 edition of WCW Saturday Night airs, which will be live on this channel, TBS Superstation from 6:05 until 8:05. It advertises the main event as being Scott Steiner defending the WCW World Television Championship against Rey Mysterio Jr. - Norman Smiley defeated La Parka in 5:54. This wasn't a great opening contest as many would of thought to kick off the first Thunder in the new year of the final year of the apparent final millenium. La Parka in my eyes is still a very green superstar, he may have the character, the specialty of weapon and the dance (La Parka Polka~!), but it didn't really do a lot to please the audience in attendance here. This was also utlilized as a comedy match between the two dancers. If only Disco Inferno was in there, hehe. That would of liftened the crowd's spirits a tiny bit I suppose. Norman Smiley ducked a chair shot from La Parka and the Norman Conquest finished it. Of course, the Big Wiggle was involved. 3/4- Suprisingly enough, an advertisement for this Sunday's big event, ECW Guilty As Charged is advertised. It will be aired on the Freeview Channel. - A limousine pulls up in the parking lot of the Richmond Coliseum as WCW President, Ric Flair alongside his son, David and best friend, Arn Anderson. They discuss something as they walk towards the arena. - High Voltage defeated Ciclope and Super Calo in the quarterfinal round of the WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament in 4:49. This match was only slightly better than the opening contest between four young superstars in High Voltage's reunion match. This bout included the former WCW World Tag Team Champion, Kenny Kaos, who teamed with Rick Steiner until his injury on January 3rd. Ciclope is a pretty talented performer when he gets good enough air-time, no pun intended in this sentence. Super Calo and Robby Rage started off, there wasn't too much to note going on between those two. Rage controlled before Ciclope got the tag. He got some great aerial attacks in, Kenny Kaos got the tag before the Power Surge on Ciclope ended it. 11/4- We cut to the backstage area where Ric Flair, David Flair and Arn Anderson are walking around, all three of them heading into Mr. Flair's Presidential office. They close the door as commercials play. This will be the greatest angle in the history of our sport~! - Chavo Guerrero Jr defeated Lash LeRoux in 7:15. This was a far more superior match in comparison to the previous two matches seen on the card. These two put on a valiant effort, Chavo Guerrero Jr has certainly changed a lot since pinning Billy Kidman last Monday. Yes, in the space of three days. His style here was way more meaner, he brutalized Lash LeRoux and used some more technical moves instead of aerial attacks. Chavo and Lash put on a decent back-and-forth match, I'd say this is an early prediction for match of the night to be honest. The audience weren't exactly too into it but they were fairly so I suppose that counts. Lash took the offense near the get-go before Chavo worked on his knee. LeRoux recovered near the five minute mark but missed a moonsault from the top rope. Chavo took advantage and a spinning facebuster finished the match. **1/2
- Chavo Guerrero Jr cut a promo after his match, announcing that he didn't need much to make him one of the big boys in the WCW World Cruiserweight Championship division. Chavo picked up Pepe, his hobby horse and broke it in half over his leg. Chavo used the 'remains' of Pepe to nail the uprising Lash LeRoux with, beating him furthermore with the wood. That's when WCW Cruiserweight Champion, Billy Kidman ran in, making the save, running Chavo away.
- We return from the commercial break as Gene Okerlund is standing by now with the WCW World Cruiserweight Champion, Billy Kidman. Gene Okerlund asks Kidman what must be going through his head right now after what has unfolded with Chavo Guerrero Jr. Kidman just says that its natural for him because once a Guerrero, always a Guerrero. Kidman reminds us that this is nothing different than a copy of Eddie Guerrero. Kidman ends it by challenging Chavo to a match at WCW Souled Out.
- Ric Flair is seen once again in his office as David, his son continuously tries to convince him that he can be a decent wrestler. David says that he wants his father, the President of WCW to be proud of him yet Flair has shown not a lot of love for that. David says that he will face anybody Ric wants him to face. Arn just chuckles along. Ric tells David that he can wrestle soon enough, but in a matter of weeks or months. Ric says that the members of the Flair household isn't wealthy at all at the moment and so he can't afford any injuries. David accepts it with an annoyed look on his face.
- Chris Jericho defeated El Dandy in 5:54. This was a fairly interesting and entertaining match, though both of these men came from relatively different styles. While Jericho was an all-rounder, El Dandy was more focused in the Mexican, lucha-libre style of wrestling using his knowledge of acrobatics to get ahead. The two couldn't really put on a great match, but I found it okay. Jericho had Ralphus accompany him to the ring, but he didn't really do a thing in the match. El Dandy had some big moves in there, a great springboard tornado DDT by Dandy as well as some decorative hurricanranas. Dandy eventually had Jericho on the outside and went to somersault over the top rope but Jericho moved and the 'Lionheart' dominated from there. Dandy never recooperated and the Liontamer finished it. 11/2- We go back to Monday Nitro with the infamous 'Blast From The Past' segment in which Diamond Dallas Page formed the New Jersey Triad, introducing hardcore-WCW fans and viewers to Bam Bam Bigelow. DDP also got Kanyon to join before we take another look from Nitro in which Ric Flair announced the WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament. New Jersey Triad defeated The Armstrong Brothers in the quarterfinal round of the WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament in 3:01. This match barely meant a thing. It was painfully obvious that the Triad were going to go out and dominate the Armstrong Brothers, Steve and Brad. Kanyon and Bam Bam Bigelow made the two members of the wrestling family look like ants with their abilities. Kanyon and Brad started, I think Brad had one shot at Kanyon before he got shoved away and overpowered by Kanyon, Brad got a little cut above the eyelid I think. Bam Bam got the tag, Kanyon took out Steve on the outside, the Greetings from Asbury Park finished it. 1/2- Following yet more commercial breaks we see a pre-taped interview with the former WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Bill Goldberg in which Tony Schiavone is asking him questions. Goldberg puts over his opponent from last Monday night, Kevin Nash, saying that even without the interference, he felt that he wouldn't of been able to overcome Kevin. Goldberg then calls out Hollywood Hogan saying that he knows that Hogan's still pissed about what happened on July 6th 1998 edition of Monday Nitro when Goldberg defeated him, Goldberg calls him out to next Monday, next Thursday, any event that both men will be at the same night. - Well, evidently, the main event for tonight's Thunder has changed, despite the advertisement for Thunder's main event on Monday Nitro stating that it'd be British Bulldog taking on Kanyon. A graphic appeared saying that it'd be the Bulldog fighting Diamond Dallas Page now, the winner going to Souled Out to challenge for Bret Hart's US Heavyweight Championship. - Brian Adams defeated Blitzkrieg in 5:08. This was a quite interesting match, definately better than the previous tag team match. This match wasn't exactly one-sided, which is what I unfortunately expected. I'm glad it wasn't too much of a squash match, though. Brian Adams used some great power moves as Blitzkrieg continuously reversed moves to no end, this was a great example of David vs. Goliath, only that Adams isn't too much of a giant and that Blitzkrieg isn't really the smallest man on the roster. Blitzkrieg was all about the hurricanranas and headscissors, using a hit-and-run stategy though he wasn't afraid to touch Adams physically. Blitzkrieg at one point had Brian down for the Stardust Press but Elix Skipper distracted him, Adams got Blitzkrieg with a Death Valley Driver and it was over. *3/4- An advertisement for WCW Thunder aired during the commercials. It is the sequel to WCW Nitro, which was released in late 1997. I've never played either game but I've heard it's okay. I'm going out shopping tomorrow so I suppose I could go out, purchase a copy of both games and review them for Wrestle-Net. That'd be cool. I might be wrong. - Chris Jericho cut a promo about luchadores and cruiserweights in general. Jericho tells us that he is no longer a cruiserweight, weighing 230 and a half pounds. Jericho disses lucha-libre and its superstars being cheap knock-offs wanting money from the big leagues. Jericho says that he will get Rey Mysterio Jr's mask to prove it. - Rey Mysterio Jr defeated Alex Wright in 6:23. This was a decent match between a more technical artist in Alex Wright and a small airborne-loving cruiserweight by the likes of Rey Mysterio Jr. Mysterio was all over the place tonight, when he wasn't on the turnbuckle, you knew he'd be soon. He was on a role out there and Alex failed to take advantage of him. Mysterio was just too quick and used Alex Wright in general as a crash dummy, he would catch Mysterio, event a comeback, fail and get hurricanrana'ed, controlled and then sell the moves. I was never really a fan of Wright whatsoever, either. Mysterio finished the match off with the Frankensteiner. **- Chris Jericho came out onto the stage and stared down Rey Mysterio Jr, Jericho with a smug grin on his face. - The main event between British Bulldog and Diamond Dallas Page is hyped once again as we go to our final commercial break. - British Bulldog defeated Diamond Dallas Page in 11:29. This was a great main event between two pure brawlers. These two clubbed it out and knocked each other out repeatedly. The action in this match was great as the viewing audience were into it very much. DDP and Bulldog exchanged many lefts and rights as the first bell sounded, apparently this was a big deal in a contenders match for a mid-card championship to beat the crap out of the other superstar. Bulldog and Page did some good brawling and was a good way to finish off this edition of WCW Thunder. Decent match all around as Bulldog and Page had a back-and-forth style going on, old-school style. Page had a lot of offense as he went to work on the previously damaged spine of Page, the spine injured during Bulldog’s career. Kanyon tried running in but Bulldog sent him flying. The Running Powerslam finished it. Bulldog stood tall as Thunder went off the air. ***- Overall, I’d call this a perfectly acceptable B-show in a big-time professional wrestling organization. It had some good matches like British Bulldog and Diamond Dallas Page [which could of gained more exposure or an improved rating if they hadn’t advertised Kanyon as Bulldog’s opponent on Nitro. Only complaints are that the WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament is done with its first round and the two matches that has taken place on this edition have been either not well-done, uncared for by fans or been a squash. Surely WCW could of picked teams better than Ciclope and Super Calo & The Armstrong Brothers. Souled Out has three matches planned, good news. **

Interesting idea with doing Hall vs. Nash at the next ppv. Opening contest sounded meh, although both wrestlers are somewhat interesting. The Calo match was extreme filler. Chavo-Lash was a decent matchup. I liked the aftermath of hte match better though. I hope you end up doing something interesting with Jericho instead of wasting him at the end like WCW did. I can't say I was a huge fan of Goldberg's promo. I doubt he'd say "he wouldn't have been able to overcome Nash anyway" type of thing. I think you should have a big program with Hogan-Goldberg. That match could have been huge money at any point. I like that Elix Skipper has been getting some time. Glad that you are moving towards Mysterio-Jericho, that's a solid match. Suprised that Bulldog beat DDP clean even when he had to take care of Kanyon. Besides the beginning of Goldberg's promo, it was a solid show. Nitro was better, but that's how it usually was in real life. Solid job as usual. Please drop a reply to ECW 2007 when you get a chance

Good show. I like the idea of Hall vs Nash with the Hogan factor thrown in there. Didnt really like Bulldog going over DDP.

Really liked this show. The card was pretty good Liked the Hall Promo. Hall/Nash should be good if Scott can stay sober. ;D You made La Parka lose to Norman Smiley. God Damnit Dan Don't know who any of the people in the next match are. Chavo going over makes me happy CHavo vs. Billy should be awesome I hate David fire him please Glad Jericho went over if he did not I would kill you I'm just saying Woop NJT won Don't like Adams so not gonna comment on that match. I like this new heel Jericho Rey's match was good too bad he will lose his mask soon Liked the main event and Bulldog winning was good Push Bulldog to the moon

The opening contest to Thunder I was guess was to set up the Kevin Nash/Scott Hall match at Souled Out. I wouldn't mind seeing Hall winning the title to be honest. Opening contest was meh, and I marked that Smiley won. I'm liking that your building towards having Rey Mysterio Jr. and Chris Jericho feud. That would be fantastic. Chavo got rid of Pepe? Noooooo. Bulldog getting the win is fine by me, I've always enjoyed Bulldog.

WRESTLE-NET: A MIXBAG FOR WCW'S LATEST REPORT!So uh, hey, it's Daniel Peterson here for tonight's edition of the WCW report, in which I will be reporting evey single day for this entire year hopefully. As I briefly mentioned in my report last night for WCW Thunder, I went shopping this morning with the wife and I purchased WCW Nitro and WCW Thunder as I am intrigued by both in this mini-series. How foolish of me to not of done this earlier let alone looked at other reviews for the games. But anyways, before I get on with the review, I'm going to announce some little tidbits for WCW and what's happening in the promotion.- As of Friday 8th January 1999 at 6:21pm eastern time, World Championship Wrestling are still number one on the map of wrestling promotions in the world, still on top of our competition, the World Wrestling Federation. WWF thrashed us for countless weeks throughout 1998 due to our botching of the Sting storyline with the nWo at Starrcade 1997 as well as the rise of WWF's Attitude Era. But once again, we are back on top of the world. - WCW Thunder last night drew a 3.75 rating for TBS Superstation. TBS are extremely happy and satisfied with the ratings that WCW have been receiving and I'm not suprised. Thunder is more of a wrestling-based program than Monday Nitro. - WWF are in talks with getting a Thursday night primetime show on UPN. How foolish can the number two promotion get? They'd get killed. They are also trying to change the time slot of WWF Shotgun Saturday Night on USA Network to the early-evening slot, trying to beat our already underscoring ratings on Saturday Night. - Sting will definately be returning after or possibly at WCW Souled Out on Sunday 24th January 1999. Speaking of Souled Out, the supershow that will be broadcast on pay-per-view in Charleston, West Virginia is sold out. - The most likely scenario for the finals of the WCW World Tag Team Championship Tournament is that Bam Bam Bigelow and Kanyon of the New Jersey Triad will face Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko. I'm not spoiling the finish or the result however, heck there could be an upset in one of these semi-final matches. - The West Texas Rednecks will probably disband soon. Rumors of the 'New Year Clearout' as WCW employees have been calling it have rumored that the clearout will take place within the next two weeks. - WCW are currently trying to persuade Chris Candido into jumping ship from ECW to WCW. WCW booker Kevin Nash wants to show Candido some respect and has some good plans for him if 'Candido were to take the bait' and trust Nash into signing. - Rob Van Dam apparently asked for his release from Extreme Championship Wrestling. When approached by Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, Van Dam spoke of taking a little hiatus from the job and has shown a little hint of resigning with WCW. WCW underestimated him heavily in his first run, this is WCW's big chance to try and build an uprising star. - In results from WCW's latest live evenht, which was held tonight in Winston-Salem, North Carolina: Disco Inferno def. Kanemura [aka W*ING Kanemura from Japanese fame] Hugh Morrus def. Glacier Mikey Whipwreck def. Chavo Guerrero Jr Hardcore: Wrath def. Raven + Hardcore Hak WCW Cruiserweight Championship: Billy Kidman (c) def. Juventud Guerrera Buff Bagwell def. Blitzkrieg Chris Benoit, Ric Flair and Dean Malenko def. New Jersey Triad - Randy Savage is currently absent from WCW after injuring his foot whilst interfering in Ric Flair's match with Eric Bischoff from 12/28/1998 Nitro. Savage will probably return for Monday Nitro. - And now, it's time for the epic duo review of WCW Nitro and WCW Thunder. First off, I'd just like to announce that I am not really all of a video game nerd, and so some of the things I say may be biased, untrue or complete nonsense. Keep this in mind over the duration of this report and review. Okay, so the game opens up showing the disclaimer. This is always my favourite part of something whenever I play a video game on my Playstation or my Nintendo 64 or my Sega Dreamcast. All of these have the identical likeness. The opening video is a little off-putting as they could of done something really good here by putting the Monday Nitro official theme song into it, but instead it is replaced by some sort of generic rock song involving an electric guitar. It shows a big clutter of wrestling moves from superstars, now here they could of simply covered up a chaotic scene and made it easier for themselves by just showing the opening video to WCW Monday Nitro, the TV show. I explored Tournament Mode but when I played it as The Giant, I still lost to Syxx in 01:57. I logged on to IGN.com in search of cheat codes for this game and so I found some, but not what I was looking for. Instead of ones to make the game easier or to have everybody unlocked to see the roster, the only cheats found were for Big Heads, a secret rant from Alex Wright and Eddy Guerrero [which I suppose is nice, the rants make the game]. I searched hard and finally found the secret characters cheat. Well the roster is utter crap. There's a bunch of random THQ staff thrown into the game, which makes me cringe at all of the undercard WCW talent they could of placed in that game over the THQ guys. You could unlock Bobby Heenan, Gene Okerlund and a referee for god's sake. I also tried the options selection but once again, using The Giant against Syxx did nothing. Overall, I'd say I suggest it to people who are good at memory games because it's insane the amount of buttons made to try and hit a good grapple move. This holds no candle to AKI Corporation's WCW vs. The World. WCW Thunder was a direct sequel to the absymal and previously-reviewed WCW Nitro and was published by THQ and released on New Year's Eve of 1998. The fact that it came out after Christmas on New Year's Eve isn't really a good idea when you think about it. WCW could of made a heck of a lot more if they were to of released the game before Christmas. Anyways, it had the same style as WCW Nitro in the opening. The cover of the Thunder case graced the 'Press Start' screen and the exact same choices made for WCW Nitro's main menu were shown on the main menu screen, consisting of Exhibition, Tournament Mode and Options. I noticed to my suprise that the layout for the superstar selection page was the same, the rants were in but the superstars involved in Nitro were replays. There was also a nice little touch in there involving which superstar was on either faction. You could put anybody in the WCW, the Four Horsemen, The Flock, nWo Black and White or nWo Wolfpac's faction. Shame it was pointless because it was a nice little touch. The selection of match types had increased, that was about it. I played in Exhibition Mode as Ultimo Dragon taking on Perry Saturn, just simply hoping that they'd changed the button configurations from WCW Nitro into some sort of configuration like WCW vs. The World. Boy was I so wrong. This game was obviously a complete rerelease from Nitro with little good work done, and this game was released what, twenty-one months after WCW Nitro was released? Oh my god. Anyways, I got a strike, an arm drag and an attempted springboard move in on Saturn but he punched me down. Wow. Saturn beat me in 2:40. I stopped caring at the second Saturn blocked my springboard. I noticed using the exact same cheat codes WCW Nitro had that the roster had thankfully increased but it could of been so much more. And right now, THQ is signed to the WWF in which they will be releasing a game for early 2000. I bet that they'll make a better effort in making that game than WCW Nitro and WCW/nWo Thunder.

WRESTLE-NET: SUPER SATURDAY NIGHT CLASHES!- Well, it looks like World Wrestling Federation got their own way because tonight, the first hour of WCW Saturday Night on TBS Superstation collides with WWF's Shotgun Saturday Night on USA Network. It looks like the secondary battle between WWF and WCW but I'm confident we will pull through.Saturday 9th January 1999- The show starts off with the usual opening video package, showing us many mechanisms working on something inside of a warehouse or a factory. It lays out a robotic body full of metal bits and wires before it turns out to be a random professional wrestler [like Goldberg with no personality, oh snap!]. We cut to the live arena where Mike Tenay and Larry Zbyzko run down the upcoming card for tonight, boasting some decent matches including the main event, as WCW World Television Champion, Scott Steiner will defend against Rey Mysterio Jr. - Kanyon defeated Van Hammer in 6:56. This was a decent match between a midcarder and a member of the uprising New Jersey Triad against a guy who hasn't done a lot since Raven's Flock disbanded. This was mainly one-sided but at times, Van Hammer had some offense, there was some decent brawling by both men but really the crowd were into Kanyon but even he wasn't one-hundred percent over. Van Hammer hit some slams and elbows but neve really attempted the cover. Van Hammer even attempted to go for the Jackhammer but Kanyon reversed and the Flatliner finished Hammer off. *1/4- There was a segment in the backstage area afterwards in which Jimmy Hart put over the Faces of Fear saying that they didn't need or want the WCW World Tag Team Championships following their loss to Chris Benoit and Dean Malenko in the tournament quarterfinal. Hart put over Meng and the Barbarian for their tag team match tonight against Ciclope and Super Calo. - Advertisements came. There was another commercial advertising ECW Guilty As Charged, which is on the Freeview Channel this Sunday night, tomorrow at 10pm. I may watch, unsure at the moment what else I'll be doing. - Faces Of Fear defeated Ciclope and Super Calo in 4:39. This was a better match than the opening contest with Kanyon and Van Hammer, but it was pretty much a one-sided affair, but I'll give it up to Ciclope and Super Calo just for their selling. These two teams also seemed to have decent chemistry in the ring to say the least. Meng and Ciclope started, Ciclope tried to cut off Meng right there and then, using some strikes and one or two aerial moves only to get caught attempting a hurricanrana. Barbarian got the tag and a double elbow drop on Ciclope finished it. Calo was never legally in the match. *3/4- Following the match, the Barbarian and Meng both screamed into the camera as Jimmy Hart continued to rant, pretty scary and it isn't even Halloween for anothe ten months. - We go to a black screen where some ECW reject named Mikey Whipwreck cut a decent little promo, this was pretty obvious taped from earlier on today, he mentioned everything about himself from his favourite color to his favourite wrestler. Whipwreck said that he's coming soon, cautioning Billy Kidman and the cruiserweight faction. - A plug for WCW Hotline was shown. It was really great when Gene Okerlund asked about a 'big time wrestler than died' in 1995. What an idiotic idea. - Hector Garza defeated David Taylor in 5:07. This was really just a filler match between a Mexican wrestler who is apparently big and an English bloke who is based more in the old-school style. I was never a fan of the rules for World of Sport or their programming. Garza did some pretty decent stuff in there but Taylor had offense. Garza is very athletic, and he looks jacked up, he's like 225-230 pounds yet he's out there jumping around like Rey Mysterio Jr. Taylor slowed him down following a missed corkscrew moonsault, Taylor worked on the neck, this man reminded me of The Blue Bloods back in 1997 with Lord Steven Regal (who just happens to be in talks with WCW once again) and how absymal they were. I hope Regal isn't paired with Taylor again. Corkscrew Moonsault for the win. *3/4- A highlight video for WCW Monday Nitro airs before cutting to commercials. - Mike Tenay gives us a status report on the well-being of Eddie Guerrero following his legitimate car accident in the early hours of Friday 1st January 1999. The announcers and us at Wrestle-Net wish him the best of luck. - Glacier defeated Curly Bill in 04:58. This match has to be one of the worst matches on Saturday Night so far, this match was even worse than Prince Iaukea's match against Kendall Windham in the opening match on Monday Nitro, the only thing that protects it is the audience's reaction. None of the West Texas Rednecks came out with Curly Bill, I couldn't really care about either of these guys, but Glacier was really stiff n that ring as Curly Bill no-sold as much as he could. Bill was sluggish during this entire match, and thank god it wasn't too long at that. Glacier finished it off with a Martial Arts kick. Just terrible. 1/2 - A replay from WCW Thunder airs, reviewing the segment with David Flair trying to convince his father that he could wrestle in which Ric finally gave into. The announcers hyped it but they never gave a solid date for his in-ring debut. - Buff Bagwell cut a brief promo in which he put himself over and also saying that the real WCW/nWo President, Eric Bischoff would be at Monday Nitro. - La Parka defeated Lash LeRoux in 6:40. This was an actually good match between two lightweights, and this was not anything like La Parka's match on WCW Thunder against Norman Smiley, he was actually good tonight, not sloppy or green in any way, maybe he just had an off-night on Thursday. Lash LeRoux impressed me to a maximum here tonight, his athleticness made this match what it was, also. La Parka was over what with his taunting, he is hilarious sometimes, but he overdoes it at other times. And at some points, you need to ask yourself if this is insulting you. Anyways, Lash LeRoux missed the moonsault, a DDT and that was all. *3/4- A hype video for the next match airs, as it will be Juventud Guerrera and Psychosis taking on El Dandy and Silver King in tag team action. - More clips from Monday Nitro airs. - Juventud Guerrera and Psychosis defeated El Dandy and Silver King in 7:12. Man this was a great match, these two teams pulled off a great encounter tonight on WCW Saturday Night, if only this was on during the first hour instead of Glacier vs. Curly Bill among the other matches. This match was fought under lucha-libre rules, meaning that it was a best of three falls with a tag occuring whenever the illegal man jumped into the ring at any point. El Dandy and Silver King actually had a bit of momentum, which just simply added to make the match even better. Psychosis and Dandy started, both hitting some good springboard moves. Juvi came in as did King and it was fast-paced action all the way. Juventud got the first fall with the 450 splash on King before Psychosis got the second fall and the win with the Guillotine Legdrop on Dandy. **1/2- Lizmark Jr defeated Lodi in 5:53. This wasn't a bad match but it was slightly subpar in comparison to the previous lucha-libre tag team match. This match was between two men from two different and seperate styles, Lodi of the technical wrestling style as Lizmark Jr had the fast-paced action, more lucha-libre here on Saturday Night. Lodi tried to slow down Lizmark Jr by fastening up his own pace, but that didn't work out for the best as Lizmark simply went too fast for him to the point where he could take advantage of Lodi anyway. Lodi eventually took out the shin of Lizmark but it didn't last too long as Lizmark Jr ended it with a diving crossbody. *1/2- We go to a pre-taped promo which is paid for by the nWo of wrestling. We go to see Hollywood Hogan standing in front of the nWo logo in black and white as Hogan cuts a promo on Bill Goldberg saying that if Goldberg wants him anytime and in any place, then Goldberg will have to find him. Hogan says that it'll take a damn good time because he's not at tonight's Saturday Night unlike Hogan. Hollywood wraps it up saying that Eric Bischoff will be back on the throne of WCW President any time soon. - Scott Steiner defeated Rey Mysterio Jr to retain the WCW World Television Championship in 7:40. This was a great main event between two different styles once again. It featured the brawler, Scott Steiner attempt to take out Rey Mysterio Jr at all costs, only to fail as Mysterio was just a little too fast for Steiner to take a shot at. Mysterio could of won the WCW World Television Championship at any point during this match but Steiner continuously kicked out. Buff Bagwell came down to ringside in the middle of the match just to apparently cheer Steiner on, but that wasn't Bagwell's only intention. Mysterio eventually hit a springboard hurricanrana and that could of done it right there but Bagwell put Mysterio's foot on the bottom rope. Mysterio hit a springboard legdrop onto Bagwell on the outside before climbing back into the ring for Steiner to hit a belly-to-back suplex for the win. ***- As Scott Steiner and Buff Bagwell celebrated, Rey Mysterio Jr walked up the ramp before seeing Chris Jericho on the TurnerTron. Jericho yells something and points down at Mysterio, the word 'BURN!' appaearing. Mysterio begins to run to the back as we go off the air. - Overall, this was an average show, it had some decent matches such as the Scott Steiner vs. Rey Mysterio Jr match for the WCW World Television Championship along with a decent lucha-libre tag team match between Juventud Guerrera and Psychosis & Silver King and El Dandy. Lodi and Lizmark Jr & Lash LeRoux and La Parka had good matches too, but the first hour consisted of a sluggish brawl with Curly Bill and Glacier, a squash match, an okay opener as well as a solid match with Hector Garza and David Taylor. Mikey Whipwreck's debut to WCW should start on this show and hopefully it'll lighten Saturday Night up once again. *1/2

I am interested in this Saturday Night War between WCW and WWF. I like that potential Konnan push as I feel he can do wonders if used right. I haven't decided if I like the potential push of Faces Of Fear as I was never to big on them. Ah, PUSH DAVID TAYLOR! haha, I though Taylor vs. Hector Garza was a decent five minute match for the mid card. Glacier vs Curly Bill does not do much for me because I hate Glacier and am not familiar with Curly Bill, though his name sounds so familiar. The next match did not do to much for me, but I was pleased with Juventud Guerrera and Psychosis vs. El Dandy and Silver King and I love that Juvi and Psychosis won. Lodi was shocking because I thought he would win for some reason...maybe because I am a Lodi mark. Liked the nWo announcement and found the main event to be good. I loved both men around this time and I would love to see a feud between the two. I liked the closing video. Overall, good stuff.

Sorry, didn't know you had posted Saturday Night. Glad Kanyon picked up the W in his match. Faces of Fear are a solid faction, glad that they won their match. Next match was filler, just like you said. As you said, that Glacier match sounded pretty brutal to watch. The cruiserweight match seemed pretty solid. The next two matches after that were both pretty good. The main event was a great way to finish the show. That would def be a solid match to see. I think STeiner should drop the TV title though and go after something better. Wonder where the BURN thing is going. Okay show, but it was fine for Saturday Night standards. Keep up the good work man, the diary is going really well so far.

Steiner vs Mysterio looks like a good match right there. Hope Mysterio wins Kanyon and Van Hammer... havent heard much about either... cant really comment although if I'm right I have heard of Chris Kanyon so I guess Its good he won. Faces of Gear vs Ciclope/Super Calo,... havent heard of either team so I cant exactly comment I have heard of Barbarian like but . Glacier vs Curly Bill or whatever, again carn't really comment on this as Ive heard of neither. La Parker I have heard of, I guess its good he got the win. Psychosis/Juventud winning this tag match is good for me as i've heard of them... shame I havent heard of more people from this time period, though. Lizmark or wahtever vs the other guy again sadly cant comment much as I no about neither. Bleh would have liked Mysterio > Steiner suppose its no disaster Steiner won, though. Good that Mysterio isnt losing to much eat with the match being a "shady" finish.

WRESTLE-NET: THE SECOND WEEK OF THE MONDAY NIGHT WARS, TOMORROW!- WCW Saturday Night did pretty well this week as it improved massively from last week's rating, Saturday Night this week receiving a solid 3.45 rating on TBS Superstation whereas WWF Shotgun Saturday Night's first hour got a 3.30. WWF Shotgun beat the first hour of WCW Saturday Night but we won the war in the second hour. - Going into WCW Monday Nitro, there isn't much of an idea as to what will be in the main event position. WWF RAW is WAR may actually be able to contend with us because of that, being that Nitro this week is live in Knoxville, Tennessee also hinting a lack of a solid card. - WCW has officially decided to begin the training camp for their developmental territory, named NWA-Wildside. Among are the following students to kick off in NWA-Wildside, hired over the period of the last seven days: - Air Paris
- AJ Styles (a young kid from Georgia, just gone professional)
- Christopher Daniels (a good wrestler from the indies)
- Essa Rios (formerly in WWF as 'Mr. Aguila')
- Frankie Kazarian (another new guy)
- Jamie Knoble
- Joey Matthews (Formerly apart of WWF superstars, the Hardy Boyz's backyard promotion)
- Shane Helms (Same as Joey Matthews)
- Shelton Benjamin (Former All-American from Minnesota)
- Stacy Keibler (A young woman, could be an addition to WCW's Womens division)
- Trish Stratagias (Rumored, finally hired)
- Vilano V (Resigned)
- W*ING Kanemura (Worked a house show on Friday night, hired soon after.
- The WCW World Womens Championship will kick off with a four-womens tournament on Monday Nitro during the 01/18/1999 edition, Mona and Madusa will obviously be a part, being primary women in WCW. - There are currently plans to try and shift Diamond Dallas Page into the WCW World Heavyweight Championship division once again in March. Eric Bischoff is very big on Page. - Expect Scott Steiner to hold the WCW World Television Championship until around February time.
