This will be difficult I know and maybe you won't be able come 10. These aren't the best matches but your personal favorite
1. Hogan vs. Andre WM 3. for the first time I didn't know if Hogan could actually pull it off(I was a kid gimme a break) The hype, the story and the slam was unbelivable. Many cut on the match and I get it but for me I've watched it at least 8 times
2. HBK vs Jericho WM 19? could be wrong in the WM. In my humble opinion the best wm match ever. Could the padawan become the master? Hell no! And the crotch shot in the end was classic
3. Austin vs Rock I don't remember what ppv is was but it culminated with Rock throwing Austins IC belt over the bridge and had the red neck funeral for Austin. There best storyline ever
4. Hogan vs Rock poor Rock top guy getting bowed but he pulled it off like the champ he is
5. Undertaker vs HBK Hell in the Cell most say the Mankind match but for me first and best of the HITC matches
6. HHH vs Undertaker WM 17
7. HBK vs Mankind-Mindgames
8. Angle vs Shane Mcmahon
9. Macho Man vs Ricky Steamboat (my choice as second greatest WM match ever)
10 Mankind vs Undertaker HITC
runner-up Angle vs Benoit you all know what match

God, I toil with this a lot. I have a top 20, let's see if I can get it down to 10...in no order
1. Summerslam 1991 - Intercontinental Championship: Mr. Perfect (c) vs. Bret Hart -This catapulted Bret Hart into a singles star. These two work SO well together. I have to watch their KOTR match again, but for right now, and historical purposes in tact, I like this match better.
2. Summerslam 1998 - Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: The Rock (c) vs. Triple H -This may be my all-time favorite match. This one turned the Rock and Triple H into main event stars. The Rock was Champion three months later, Triple H a year later. But this match turned them into credible superstars.
3. Wrestlemania X - Undisputed Intercontinental Championship Ladder Match: Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels -I cannot say enough about this match. It didn't rely on spots but rather psychology. And spots that were unheard of at this time. It still holds up today.
4. Wrestlemania XXI - Shawn Michaels vs. Kurt Angle -The right man went over in, for my money, a five star match. I know not everyone goes the full monty but the intensity is there and the wrestling is there. Loved it.
5. Royal Rumble 2000 - WWF Championship Street Fight: Triple H (c) vs. Cactus Jack -Another perfect match. My best friend, who is a girl and not at all a wrestling fan, watched this and came out saying it was pretty decent. If you can keep a non-fan interested, you're doing something right. Again, did so much for Triple H as well.
6. Wrestlemania XX - World Championship: Triple H (c) vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Benoit -Another perfect match with a perfect moment at the end. Yes, it's tainted now, but at the time, it was the greatest moment in WWE history for my money.
7. Wrestlemania 13 - Submission Match: Bret Hart vs. Steve Austin -I saw this live with my Dad so it holds special memories for me as well. Not to mention it drove Steve Austin into the main event. I do love Survivor Series 1996 as well, especially for being a completely different type of match, but this one gets the nod.
8. Royal Rumble 2004 - Royal Rumble Match -The booking for this was dead on. Benoit came across as the most determined wrestler ever. Great ending as Benoit managed to eliminate the Big Show by himself, a feat which five guys could not do together.
9. Wrestlemania XIX - Shawn Michaels vs. Chris Jericho -This was my dream match for the longest time. To see it finally come true was fantastic. Not to mention it was a fantastic match. I think Jericho should have gone over, but time has healed those wounds and I'm fine with Michaels getting the nod since the match was so great, and Jericho would come out on top 5 years later. Judgment Day and No Mercy 2008 were amazing as well but this one is in so far.
10. Wrestlemania XXIV - Career-Threatening Match: Shawn Michaels vs. Ric Flair -Again, another seeing live. So emotional. The match wasn't five stars, but the story and the emotion was, and that's what WWE is best at.
Honorable Mentions: No Mercy 2008 - World Championship Ladder Match: Chris Jericho (c) vs. Shawn Michaels; Wrestlemania 3 - Intercontinental Championship: Randy Savage (c) vs. Ricky Steamboat; Wrestlemania 22 - Hardcore Match: Edge vs. Mick Foley; Raw 1.2.1999 - WWF Championship: The Rock (c) vs. Mankind; Smackdown! 2002 - No Disqualification: Edge vs. Eddie Guerrero; Halloween Havoc 1997 - Cruiserweight Championship vs. Mask: Eddie Guerrero (c) vs. Rey Mysterio; Summerslam 1994 - WWF Championship Steel Cage: Bret Hart (c) vs. Owen Hart; Wrestlemania X - Bret Hart vs. Owen Hart; No Way Out 2006 - Kurt Angle vs. the Undertaker; Wrestlemania XXI - Money in the Bank; Backlash 2000 - WWF Championship: Triple H (c) vs. the Rock
Okay, I'm done.

8)Road Warriors vs Midnight Express (Starrcade 86 Scaffold Match)

1. Bret Hart vs Yokozuna w/Hogan running in and winning the title (if this counts as a match) Wrestlemania 9 (That's my favorite thing in wrestling history) 2. Macho Man vs Ultimate Warrior Wrestlemania 7 (Career ending match) 3. Macho Man vs Ric Flair Wrestlemania 8 4. Macho Man vs Ultimate Warrior Summerslam 1992 5. Sid vs Hulk Hogan (Warrior returns, Hogan retires) Wrestlemania 8 6. Mega Maniacs (Brutus and Hulk) vs Money INC (Dibease and IRS) (Hogan's return, Wrestlemania 9) 7. Royal Rumble 1992 (Ric Flair wins WWF Title!) 8. 20-man Battle Royal (Wrestlemania 4) 9. Mr T and Hulk Hogan vs Mr Wonderful and Rowdy Roddy Piper Wrestlemania 1 10. HBK vs Razor Ramon Ladder Match Wrestlemania 10 11. Rowdy Piper vs Bret Hart Wrestlemania 8 12. Ricky Steamboat vs Macho Man Wrestlemania 3
I had to add the eleventh match. Really, the 1988 Survivor Series match where Demoltion turned heel, Battle Royal at Wrestlemania 2, Bundy/Hogan at Wrestlemania 2, Mr T vs Rowdy Piper Wrestlemania 2 Boxing Match, Owen vs Bret Hart Wrestlemania 10, Owen vs Bret Hart Summerslam 1994 in a Cage, Survivor Series match first ever 1987 with Hulk's Team vs Andre's team, Undertaker vs Hulk Hogan Survivor Series 1991, Royal Rumble 1995 HBK wins drawing #1, Jake vs Undertaker Wrestlemania 8, etc and much more are also on my all time favorites of all time. Wrestlemania 8 and Wrestlemania 9 are my two favorite events of all time. And my favorite tape of all time is the Best of Wrestlemania 1985-1993 they came out with in 1994 with Gorrilla Monsoon and Vince McMahon hosting it. I am truly an oldschool fan as you can see all my favorite matches are the first decade of wrestling in WWF. It's my style! Good thread, there have been so many legendary matches, events and history it's a good topic.

Most of these cept maybe the top 5 can be placed anywhere on my list. Yeah, I'm a big Bret Hart fan obviously but I could have listed more of his matches but decided to throw others in.
1. Bret Hart Vs HBK at WM XII. 2. Bret Hart vs Steve Austin at WM 13 3. Bret Hart vs Undertaker at Summerslam. Such a great match. 4. The Hart Foundation vs Team USA at Canadian Stampede. Look it up. 5. Bret Hart vs Owen at Summerslam is my favorite Cage Match. 6. Royal Rumble 1992 is my favorite Rumble. 7. Undertaker vs Mankind- Boiler Room Brawl. 8. Undertaker vs HBK- Ground Zero 9. Hogan vs Warrior at WM. 10. Savage vs Hogan at WM. 11. Savage vs Crush at WM. I wish it lasted longer since it was a big feud. 12. Triple H vs HBK. Hell In A Cell 13. Nash vs Goldberg at Sarrcade even though the ending sucked.
Those are the matches I enjoy watching again and again.

might have to change my last vote I forgot about the WM 8 Macho vs Flair. Did you guys know Flair was originally supposed to win but Macho keep bitching due to the fact he'd lost to Steamboat and Hogan(which is dumb considering he won 4) from Ric's book

To the thread starter:
How can Steamboat/Savage be the 2nd best WM match ever if you rated Andre vs Hogan from WM3 and HBK vs Jericho from WM19 above it?

To the thread starter: How can Steamboat/Savage be the 2nd best WM match ever if you rated Andre vs Hogan from WM3 and HBK vs Jericho from WM19 above it? I meant technical skill of the match. Hogan vs Andre for pure wrestling was poor but the hype , the story and the slam is what did it for me.

I don't have an official list but...
Summerslam 91 - Hart vs Mr Perfect - is what made me a wrestling fan.
Other matches I hold highly are Benoit and Angle, Jerry Lynn and RVD, Michaels and Angle and a lot of generic "best matches."
But my all time favorite match without a doubt:
WM8 - Piper vs Hart - IC title.
It was face vs face with a small heel turn and back to face turn during the match for Piper. It was Piper's first time being pinned to the mat in WWF. It ended with a counter to a finisher. The promo before the match had Piper talking about Hart's mom making bolognia sandwiches. What more could you ask for?
