Ah, I see you got some SD up and running! Double RKO! Excellent opening segment definitely dude. Good to see Morrison get the victory there over Finlay. Haha yes! Hurricane coming back to team with Kingston! And they win, hell yes awesome match! Big Show! Pretty sweet segment there. Waste of time with the divas match, atleast maria won. Bad ass Jericho comments there man. YES PUNK! Hell yes that match will be awesome! And Orton attacks at the end. Decent enough SD man, got me pumped for NOC!

Solid opening promo to kick off WWE SmackDown this week, Stephanie McMahon and Edge had a nice little promo, here. Hmm, good set-up with CM Punk and Jeff Hardy making the save for Stephanie, from Edge and Umaga, I see a tag team match happening next week on the show. Finlay and John Morrison usually have good matches, shame it was so short, but nontheless, Morrison picking up the win is fine. Filler tag team match there, with Kofi Kingston and The Hurricane beating The Brian Kendrick and Lawrence Knight. Blah divas match. Solid promo by Chris Jericho. The Undertaker coming out is interesting. Save the feud for SummerSlam please. Great main event and final to the Gold Rush tournament, glad CM Punk beat Jeff Hardy. Good main event saved the show from being bad.

Night of Champions is stacked. I predict: MVP defeating Kane to win the title. Randy Orton retaining his belt over C.M Punk. Ken Kennedy finally winning the title from Burke. Ted Jr retaining his IC title. Hopefully TBK will retain, but I can see Kofi winning. I think the Hart Foundation will retain in a brutal and amazing match. I see Legacy retaining. Gavin winning the TV title and Swagger going to the ECW main event. I am hoping to see Victoria retain and Natalya Neidhart as well.

Interesting for Orton to attack heels like that. Glad Morrison beat Finlay, not a Finlay fan. Soldi win there for Kofi/Hurri. Good Show/Shelton segment, could see something like that going down. Fine woemn's match I guess. Nice touch with Jericho nto being afraid of Taker at all. Figured Punk would win, Orton/Punk is a nice match.

[Credit for all Graphics: JORD]June 28th, 2009 ARCO Arena in Sacramento, California Attendance: 15,317 The show opens with the usual video package. This one first shows the near three month rivalry between ECW Champion Elijah Burke and Mr. Kennedy and how tonight is Kennedy’s last chance at the ECW Title. Next it showed how CM Punk won the Gold Rush tournament and became the number one contender to Randy Orton’s World Championship. Lastly, it showed highlights of all six men in tonight’s Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship.
A major fireworks display kicks off the show and Jerry “The King” Lawler, Michael Cole, Tazz, Jim Ross, Todd Grisham and Matt Striker all welcome us to tonight’s Pay-Per-View extravaganza. They promote that all ten titles in the WWE will be on the line tonight. Four from Raw, four from Smackdown and two from ECW. Ross and Tazz take over as tonight’s opening contest is for the WWE Tag Team Championship. They hype up the recent events that have gone down between these two very talented tag teams, including the Second City Saints actually becoming the first team to hand the New Hart Foundation a loss, although it was in a non-title match.WWE Tag Team Championship: The New Hart Foundation (c) w/ Natalya Neidhart vs. The Second City Saints w/ The Bella TwinsThe Saints were first to come to the ring and they got a big pop, bigger than usual due to them having the Bella Twins by their side. The New Hart Foundation followed to mostly boos, but some cheers were thrown in there. Goldman and Wilson started the match and they began with some mat wrestling and a stand-off that Wilson seemingly got the better of. They went it at again and Goldman managed attempt a pin, but Wilson kicked out. That led to Goldman doing his classic multiple pinning attempts, which angered Wilson. Wilson charged at him, but Goldman moved and he ran into the corner. Goldman ran and hit a flying butt bump. He tagged in Steel, who as usual was the more serious of the team. He worked over Wilson until both men made the tag. Smith would hit Goldman with a few different suplex variations and the Foundation worked on him and cut the ring in half. Wilson and Smith tagged in and out repeatedly and Smith hit a sit out power bomb while Wilson nailed the Rolling Stampede. Eventually, Goldman ducked a shot from Wilson and hit him with multiple bionic elbows. He dove and tagged in Steel. He hit both Wilson and Smith with a snap suplex, Death Valley Driver and a reverse DDT. He saw Smith on the outside and dove out there to hit a suicide dive. That got the crowd pumped and Steel slid back in the ring. He went to pick up Wilson, but Wilson wrapped him into an ankle lock. Steel struggled and reached the ropes. On the outside, Smith hit Goldman with a running power slam and got in the ring. He hit Steel with a running power slam as well and Wilson got on the apron. He hit the springboard elbow drop to pick up the 1-2-3 and retain the gold. Winners and Still WWE Tag Team Champions: The New Hart Foundation (11:27) ***½Jim Ross and Tazz put over the fact this was the finest Tag Team Title match we’ve seen this year in the WWE. The Bella Twins check on Goldman on the outside while The New Hart Foundation walk away with their belts.
The cameras cut backstage, where we see Stephanie McMahon in her office. Vickie Guerrero is there as well, sitting down and pissed. She tells Stephanie that Edge should be on tonight’s card and getting a Title shot. Stephanie tells her that Edge is lucky to still have a job after what he tried on Smackdown. Vickie says something about Stephanie deserving it. Stephanie gets right in her face and reminds her that she is a McMahon and she can do whatever she wants. Vickie reaches back slap her, but her hand is pulled back. The cameras turn to see that Edge is the one doing it. He tells Vickie that Stephanie isn’t worth it. He tells Vickie, “I can’t…I mean you can’t afford to have your position as General Manager compromised.” Edge then stares a hole through Stephanie, who dares him to do something. Edge smiles sadistically and walks off.Divas Championship: Natalya Neidhart (c) vs. Maria KanellisMaria made her way to the ring first and got a nice reaction from the crowd, but it seemed like a small section was booing her. That section turned to cheers once Natalya came out for the second time tonight. It seems like that section of the crowd are the “pure wrestling” fans. Onto the match though, which turned out to be less of a squash than expected. Once the bell rang, Maria charged at Natalya and knocked her into the corner. Once there, Maria gave her the foot choke and followed that with the Bronco Buster. She got a near fall for that. Natalya wasn’t having any of that anymore as she kicked Maria in the stomach and nailed a snap suplex. She followed that up with a back breaker and attempted to lock on the Sharpshooter, but Maria scrambled to the ropes. Natalya picked her up, but Maria went into a handstand and wrapped her legs around Natalya’s head. She delivered a swift kick to the head. Maria went for the Beautiful Bulldog, but Natalya held her ground and sent her flying by herself. She went to Maria’s legs and locked on the Sharpshooter to end it. Winner and Still Divas Champion: Natalya Neidhart (5:04) **Natalya walked up the ramp where she was greeted by her cousin, Harry Smith and her boyfriend TJ Wilson. Just two matches into the night and The New Hart Foundation have completed their clean sweep and retained their Titles just like they said they would.
In the back, Josh Matthews is standing by with MVP and Eve. Matthews asks MVP what his strategy is for tonight’s match. MVP says that he is the most athletically gifted Superstar in the match tonight and he is the only one to have never won the WWE Title, so he wants it more than any of them. He is cut off as Mr. Money in the Bank, Shelton Benjamin walks up to him. He reminds MVP that he came so close to winning the Royal Rumble and that he came so close to winning Money in the Bank, but a certain somebody reached up and grabbed the mother lode before he could. MVP smirks at this and says that Shelton is right, but he reminds Shelton that he has beaten him on more than a few occasions and that’s one of the reasons why he’s in a Title match tonight and Shelton isn’t. Shelton taps his golden briefcase and reminds MVP that every night is a potential Title match for him. MVP warns him not to cash in tonight, not because MVP’s scared or anything, but because Shelton can’t be in top condition after Big Show moved his jaw about 4 inches to the right. Shelton gets mad at this and MVP points behind him and yells “Hey Show”. Shelton jumps at this as MVP and Eve laugh and walk away. Benjamin stands there and looks furious.Television Championship: Jack Swagger (c) vs. Gavin Spears w/ TiffanyGavin Spears is out first and gets a very good crowd reaction, better than usual but most likely due to Tiffany being at his side. Swagger was next and he drew some excellent heel heat. The match started off with a feeling out process and some mat wrestling that Swagger got the better of. Swagger ended up getting the challenger in the corner and drove his shoulder into his mid section multiple times. Swagger continued to dominate and it looked like we had a second squash on our hands, but Spears hit a dropkick and then a neck breaker to get back into it. Spears would nail a superplex but only get a two. He picked up Swagger, but Swagger caught him with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. He then locked on an abdominal stretch. He would use the ropes for added leverage, but Tiffany knocked his hands off of it. Swagger let go of the move and pushed her off apron. She hit the floor hard and Spears noticed it and attacked Swagger with everything he had. He hit Swagger with a back breaker and went for his Running Death Valley Driver but Swagger raked him in the eyes. He kicked him in the gut and went for the gut wrench power bomb, but Spears reversed it into an impressive hurricanrana with a bridge to pick up the surprise, upset victory. Winner and NEW Television Champion: Gavin Spears (8:54) **¾The crowd cheered as Gavin Spears celebrated his upset victory over the seemingly unstoppable Jack Swagger. Swagger was frustrated in the ring and he began to argue with the referee. Spears stopped celebrating to check on Tiffany.
The cameras then cut to a video promo for next month’s “The Bash” Pay-Per-View! It will take place on Sunday, July 26th, 2009 live from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania!
Next we cut to CM Punk, who is in the back doing his wrist warm up and jumping around in preparation for his huge World Heavyweight Championship match tonight. It cuts to Randy Orton who is just sitting in his locker room staring down at his World Heavyweight Title.World Tag Team Championship: Legacy (c) vs. The Technicians w/ Kelly KellyThe challengers stepped out first and got a fairly decent pop, although it did get bigger once the crowd saw Kelly. Cody Rhodes and Joe Henning came out next and got booed the entire way to the ring. The match itself wasn’t anything special and just slightly better than their encounter at King of the Ring. Haas and Henning began and they put on a clinic on the mat, although Haas was the better of the two there. Haas and Noble worked some good tag team moves including a clothesline/German suplex combination and a double team belly to back suplex. Rhodes managed to nail Noble with a low blow behind the referee’s back and that began Legacy’s time of dominance. They used frequent tags and underhanded tactics to work over Noble. Legacy also unleashed a new double team move which featured a suplex from Henning, knee drop from Rhodes and then a double fist drop from both of them. Noble kicked out of that though and Henning was set up for the Perfectplex, but Noble blocked it and nailed a falcon arrow type move that Henning kicked out of. Noble made the tag to Haas, who came in and hit two German suplexes and two T-Bone throws. He was on fire and then locked Henning in the Haas of Pain. Rhodes broke up the move though but Haas tossed him to the outside. That allowed Henning to roll him up with a handful of tights and his feet on the ropes to pick up the cheap victory. Winners and Still World Tag Team Champions: Legacy (9:51) **¾Legacy grabbed their Tag Team Titles and headed up the ramp to celebrate their tainted victory. The announcers mention that the New Hart Foundation swept so far and left with their titles and Legacy looks to do the same tonight. Haas and Noble are left in the ring arguing with the referee about the decision.
The Brood was seen in a dark room backstage. Kevin Thorn talked about the ECW Championship and how he plans on coming after whoever wins tonight’s match, Elijah Burke or Mr. Kennedy. He will leave his minions, Tyler Black and Hade Vansen, to fend off Finlay and Sheamus.Women’s Championship: Victoria (c) vs. Beth Phoenix vs. Katie Lea Burchill w/ Layla London vs. Mickie JamesThe “Glamazon” made her way to the ring before the other three Divas and she got booed for the most part. Next was James, who as always, got a great reaction. Katie Lea followed to some great heel heat. Lastly, the Champion Victoria came down to a nice pop. The match itself was very good and was probably one of the best women’s matches in recent WWE memory. All four women played to their strengths as James used her energy and athleticism, Katie Lea used her technical skills, Beth showed brilliant power and Victoria used a mix of power and speed. Victoria and Beth went at it mostly as Beth still seemed upset about losing her Title to her two months back. Beth would nail her with the Fisherman Buster, but she surprisingly kicked out. Victoria got back on the offensive when she hit Beth with swinging sidewalk slam. Victoria went for her moonsault, but James drilled her with a sweet super kick. She covered but Katie Lea broke it up. Lea and Beth would hit James with a double team suplex and then Katie Lea rolled up Beth, but only for a two. Beth was not happy with this and military press slammed Katie Lea to the outside. Victoria battled Beth into the corner where James joined in. James and Victoria threw Beth off the ropes and James nailed a Lou Thez Press. Victoria followed with a moonsault and then went for the cover but James stopped her. That led to the two of them fighting, until James missed a super kick and got nailed with the Widow’s Peak. Victoria was about to cover, but Katie Lea snuck back in the ring and hit her with the Hair-Pull neck breaker. She covered her for the three to become Champion. Winner and NEW Women’s Champion: Katie Lea Burchill (8:18) **¾Katie Lea and Layla celebrated this fine victory as they left. William Regal and Katie Lea’s brother, Paul joined them at the top of the ramp to celebrate and the crowd didn’t like it at all.
In the back, Josh Matthews standing by with John Cena. He asks Cena the same question that he asked MVP earlier and that was what would be Cena’s strategy in his main event match tonight. Cena responded by saying that his strategy is to just go full throttle, and get through all five of his opponents until he’s the only one left. He then mentions that tomorrow night on Raw, we’re all supposed to finally find out the identity of the new Raw General Manager and Cena says that the new GM can be welcomed by a new WWE Champion.United States Championship: The Brian Kendrick (c) w/ Lawrence Knight vs. Kofi KingstonKofi made his way to the ring first and got a great reaction after his pyrotechnics went off. Kendrick followed to a wave of boos, closely followed by Lawrence Knight. The match began with a collar and elbow tie up, but the usual mat wrestling that follows didn’t occur. Instead, we were treated to some fast paced, high flying moves. Kofi showed his athleticism, while Kendrick showed what made him a star on the Indies. After a few minutes of that, Kendrick took control. He tossed Kofi off the ropes and hits a springboard elbow drop as he came back. Kendrick followed that with a running double foot stomp and Kofi rolled to the outside. While he was outside, Kendrick distracted the referee and that allowed Knight to club Kofi in the back a few times. Kendrick then attempted a somersault to the outside, but Kofi pulled Knight in the way and Kendrick nailed him instead. Kofi tossed Kendrick back into the ring. Kofi went for his trademark leg drop, but Kendrick kicked up. Kofi sent him back down with a backhand chop and then hit the leg drop anyway. He only got a two though as Kendrick got the shoulder up. Kofi threw him into the corner, ran in and nailed ten punches in the corner. He followed up with a monkey flip, but Kendrick managed to land on his feet. Kofi went to him and stepped right into a super kick. Kendrick covered but Kofi kicked out. Kendrick set up for The Kendrick, but Kofi threw him into the corner sternum first. Kendrick stumbled back out of the corner and was met with Trouble in Paradise to the back of the head to finish it. Winner and NEW United States Champion: Kofi Kingston (11:21) ***¼Kofi is handed the United States Title and the crowd goes wild as he had picked up his third Championship in WWE. He leaves to a nice ovation, while Kendrick is pissed off at Knight in the ring.
Backstage, the cameras catch Chris Jericho coming out of Vickie Guerrero’s office. Josh Matthews runs up to him and asks him why he’s smiling so much. Jericho says that we’ll all just have to stay tuned for Smackdown this Friday.Intercontinental Championship: Ted Dibiase Jr. (c) vs. Evan BourneEvan Bourne was out first to a fantastic pop from the crowd in Sacramento. Ted was next and he got booed, but most were surprised to see that the rest of Legacy was not accompanying him to ringside. The crowd wasn’t really into it at the start, as Dibiase kept the match at a rather slow pace. It was a smart strategy, as it kept Bourne away from his strength. Grounding the challenger was a great move, but was pretty boring. After a few minutes of that, Dibiase nailed two straight elbow drops. As he went for the third, Bourne moved out of the way. He followed that up with a quick hurricanrana and next was an enziguri. Bourne would cover, yet only gather a near fall. He picked up the champion and delivered a cradle suplex, yet again only got a two. Bourne held control for a short while longer, hitting his snap mare driver and a dropkick in the corner. Dibiase rolled to the outside, and like Kendrick attempted last match, Bourne nailed a big moonsault onto him. The crowd loved every moment of this and he rolled Ted back into the ring. He climbed to the top and hit the cannonball leg drop but Dibiase kicked out. Bourne called for the Shooting Star Press but Cody Rhodes and Joe Henning ran down to the ring. Bourne turned his attention to them and hit the SSP onto them instead. The referee made it up to the count of nine before Bourne got back into the ring but once he did, Dibiase caught him in the Million Dollar Dream. Bourne would not tap, so Ted hit the Dream Street for the win. Winner and Still Intercontinental Champion: Ted Dibiase Jr. (13:35) ***½The crowd did not like the ending to match, but it was very clear tonight that Evan “Air” Bourne’s popularity continues to rise. Dibiase crept back up the ramp with his Legacy teammates, as they, just like the New Hart Foundation have swept tonight. They are actually the only four titles that haven’t changed tonight.
The cameras cut straight to a build up promo for the upcoming ECW Championship match. It starts with Elijah Burke and Mr. Kennedy both being pegged as future superstars in 2007. It then shows Burke getting fired and Kennedy going through injuries, which stopped both of them in their tracks. Next, it shows Burke returning to ECW and winning the ECW Title at WrestleMania. Then we see Kennedy get drafted to ECW and challenge Burke for the Title twice, falling short both times.Last Chance Match for the ECW Championship: Elijah Burke (c) vs. Mr. KennedyAs usual tonight, the challenger made their way to the ring first and Kennedy got a big pop from the crowd. Burke was next and continues to draw some electric heat. The match began with a stare down in the middle of the ring. You could see Burke’s lips moving as he trash talked Kennedy. Kennedy slapped him across the face and that led to a fist fight. Burke got him trapped in the corner and the referee called for the clean break, but Burke delivered a cheap shot. Kennedy was steaming after that and he ran out of the corner with a Lou Thez Press and he struck with lefts and rights on the Champion. Kennedy delivered a Russian leg sweep and then a big boot that sent Burke to the outside. Kennedy followed but was met with a thumb to the eye. Burke would then hit snake eyes onto the guardrail and then Irish whip him into the rail. He got back in the ring and was attempting to gain a count out victory. Kennedy got back in at the count of eight though. Burke met him with a shoulder block and then a clothesline to send him to the outside. Burke slammed his head on the announce table and then hit a spine buster on the outside. He again tried for the cheap count out victory to get Kennedy out of his hair. Kennedy would crawl back in the ring at the count of nine. Burke was extremely frustrated at this now and he threw Kennedy into the corner. He ran in for the Elijah Express but Kennedy moved out of the way. He followed up by hitting a reverse DDT. He dragged Burke into the corner and he hit a face wash but only got a near fall. Kennedy could smell the end of the match though and he picked up Burke for the Green Bay Plunge, but Burke raked his eyes to get out. He then went for the Elijah Experience, but Kennedy hit him in the gut and then nailed the Mic Check. He knew that might not be enough, so he climbed to the top and busted out the Kenton Bomb. That was finally enough for him to gain the ECW Championship. Winner and NEW ECW Champion: Mr. Kennedy (16:49) ***½Kennedy was handed the ECW Title and Tony Chimel made the announcement that he was the new Champion. The crowd roared in approval as Kennedy finally managed to win the big one. He celebrated with the belt and the crowd in the front row as Matt Striker and Todd Grisham mentioned that with Spears and Kennedy as new Champs, there’s a new era in ECW.
Now we cut to a short promo video hyping up the World Title match. It starts with CM Punk’s World Title reign coming to an abrupt ending last Fall due to Randy Orton’s punt to his head. Events after that led to Randy Orton winning the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania XXV. CM Punk then went on to win the Gold Rush Tournament by beating John Morrison, Edge & Jeff Hardy.World Heavyweight Championship: Randy Orton (c) vs. CM PunkFirst, CM Punk made his way to the ring in some new pink and black attire to the loudest pop of the night so far. Randy Orton followed and as usual, got some major heat, but was still cheered by some. These locked up in the center of the ring, but Orton over powered Punk and pushed him to the ground. He did it a second time, but on their third lock up, Punk dropped down and Orton’s push attempt sent him to the ground. Punk applied a headlock and worked over the Champion. Orton sent him off the ropes; Punk ducked a clothesline and came off the ropes with a flying forearm. He picked up Orton with an arm wrench, stepped over the arm with one leg and used that leg to nail Orton in the face. He got a near fall for that and then sent Orton into the corner. He ran in for his knee strike, but Orton moved out of the way and then delivered some hard shoulder thrusts. He then slowed down the pace of the match with some wear down maneuvers. Eventually, Punk fought out of them, but Orton sent him to the outside with a clothesline. Punk got up quickly though and went for his springboard clothesline, but Orton shook the ropes, causing Punk to fall back to the apron. Orton would deliver his sick rope hung DDT from there, but Punk managed to get a shoulder up at two. Orton was pissed at this and began to do the Orton Stomps, onto every part of Punk’s body. He then began to stalk Punk and was setting up for the RKO. He went for it when Punk got up, but the challenger tossed him off and Orton crashed on the mat. He got up, right into Punk’s combo of slaps and chops and he ended it with a stiff kick to the head. Punk tossed him off the ropes and hit a tilt-a-whirl back breaker for another near fall. Punk finally went for the GTS, only to have Orton wriggle free, slide behind him and hit his trademark headlock back breaker. He covered but Punk managed to kick out in the nick of time. Orton then set up for the Punt kick. He went for it but Punk dropped flat to the ground causing Orton to completely miss his target. Punk then got him up for the GTS again but Orton grabbed the top rope to hold on. Punk let him down and delivered a stiff kick to the head. Then Punk made a rare mistake. He climbed to the top rope and went for a high risk move, but as he came down, Orton popped up and caught him with a mid-air RKO. He covered for the three. Winner and Still World Heavyweight Champion: Randy Orton (21:59) ****¼The crowd was not pleased with the outcome, but everybody, including the announcers was very impressed with the match. Randy Orton put on another classic during his World Title reign. Orton grabbed his title and celebrated and Punk slowly got up. Punk offered Orton his hand and Orton, surprisingly shook it. He then quickly delivered another RKO and walked out holding the World Title over his head.
We cut straight to a build up video for the upcoming Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship.Six Pack Challenge for the WWE Championship: Kane (c) w/ Paul Bearer vs. John “Bradshaw” Layfield w/ The Cabinet vs. Triple H vs. John Cena vs. MVP w/ Eve vs. BatistaMVP made his way to the ring first and got a huge pop from the crowd. JBL was next and got the most heat of the match. Batista was next out and he got his normal huge reaction. Triple H followed suit and continues to draw some awesome heat. John Cena stepped through next to a loud ovation, possibly the loudest along with Punk and Batista. Kane, the reigning champion, was the final man out and he got booed. Once the bell rang, all hell broke loose. Every face went after the heel that they have issues with. MVP went right after JBL, Batista backed HHH into a corner and Cena and Kane went toe-to-toe in the middle of the ring. These three separate battles went on for about seven minutes until they all remembered that there’s something bigger at stake, the WWE Title. Kane dominated the early portions. He was tossing guys left and right. He caught MVP with a sidewalk slam, and then hit HHH with a big boot and then the snake eyes onto Cena. JBL and Batista both ran at Kane, but were met with a double clothesline. For the first ten minutes of the match, the WWE Champion was dominant. It was at that point that Kane stood in the middle of the ring and Batista pointed at everybody else in the match and then pointed at Kane. They all put their differences aside and attacked the Champion at once. The strategy worked as they got him down to his knees. MVP would hit the Playmaker, which HHH followed with the Pedigree. Cena and JBL both hit their finishers and Batista finished it off with a Batista Bomb. He pinned the Champion to eliminate him. (Kane: 12:49) With the Champion gone, anything could happen. After a short while longer, Batista also managed to put away his rival, HHH. HHH went to hit him with a sledgehammer but Batista ducked and caught him with a spine buster. He then hit the Batista Bomb to put him away. (HHH: 15:06) Batista got up and began to shake the ropes as he picked up the first two eliminations. Jayson Paul got on the apron to distract him. Batista went after him but Paul threw powder in his eyes. He turned around right into a Clothesline from Hell to eliminate him. (Batista: 16:01) It was down to the final three of John Cena, JBL & MVP. JBL ran straight at MVP with a Clothesline from Hell, but he instead got caught with an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. MVP followed suit with the “Ballin” elbow drop, but Candice placed JBL’s foot on the rope. MVP began to argue with her and Cena snuck up to roll him up but MVP kicked out. Eve and Candice began to brawl outside until the referee tossed everybody from ringside. JBL was very upset at this and argued with the referee. MVP ran at him and delivered a big boot to the side of the face. Cena then locked in the STFU and made JBL tap out. (JBL: 21:08) The crowd was amped to see Cena & MVP as the final two. They traded fists in the middle of the ring to start. MVP sent him off the ropes and hit a knee smash that he followed up with a clothesline. Cena kicked out before three and MVP quickly locked in an arm bar type submission. Cena looked close to tapping out, but he used his power to reach the ropes. MVP waited and went for the Drive-By, but Cena swept up his legs and locked on the STFU. It looked as if MVP would tap, but he managed to reach the ropes. Both men looked exhausted as they got to their feet. MVP struck first and after a few moves, had Cena prepped for the Playmaker but Cena picked him up from that position and set up the FU! He dropped MVP down and got the three! Winner and NEW WWE Champion: John Cena (26:30) ****John Cena celebrated, along with the crowd. He picked up another WWE Title and ended the match with a classic duel against MVP. He helped MVP up after the match and offered him his hand. MVP shook it and unlike the Punk/Orton match, this handshake was genuine and MVP said something about SummerSlam before leaving the ring. Cena posed with the Title as the show closed. © WWE 2009

WOW, Just wow amazing show, best you've ever done. - Hart Dynasty going over is the right decision. Glad they went over clean aswell. - Natalya winning is good too, glad it was too much like job. - Spears new champ Hell yeah! Great decision you've certainly pushed the guy he did absolutely Nothing with the E. - Legacy going over is great especially with the heelish finish. - Womens title match was great and actually a good read. - Kofi winning is great, Wonder what is next for TBK. - DiBiase winning is also great with Legacy interfering for another Heel finish. - I knew Kennedy would win this I just pray to god hope its not Kennedy vs Burke at The Bash. Kennedy vs Thorn would work. - Orton vs Punk sounded like a great match, probably one of the best write ups you have done. - The WWE Title match was great, Kane going first was good I really wanted too know who would win. MVP vs Cena for the belt is good. Cena going over isn't something Im liking but it was the right move. Im hoping MVP wins at SS.

Solid opening contest to start off Night of Champions, got to say that these match graphics are pretty good. The New Hart Foundation beating the Second City Saints I won't lose sleep over, it seemed like a decent contest, and didn't expect the WWE Tag Team Championships to change hands. Seemed like a filler of a WWE Divas Campionship match, Natalya beating Maria was anticipated. Suprised you chose to have Gavin Spears defeat Jack Swagger to win the ECW Television Championship. Predict that this means Jack Swagger can move up the card, hopefully. The World Tag Team Championships match was fine, Legacy beating the Technicians is a fine deicsion. Nothing too spectacular and nothing to really complain about, really. Solid four-way WWE Womens Championship match, now this match was better than the other womens match. Katie-Lea Burchill winning is a magnificent choice. The graphics after that match are broken linked, by the way. Kofi Kingston winning the WWE United States Championship from The Brian Kendrick suprised me, glad he won, though. Ted Dibiase beating Evan Bourne is fine. Solid ECW Championship match, no complaints about Mr Kennedy beating Elijah Burke. Think it should of been a little down the card, then had a filler match in between. Three of the bigger titles at stake back-to-back seems awkward, really. Randy Orton retaining the World Heavyweight Championship from CM Punk is good, seemed like an awesome match. Lastly, a big main event six-pack challenge, and John Cena winning the WWE Championship actually doesn't bother me. Hopefully Montel Vontavious Porter vs John Cena doesn't happen or isn't main eventing SummerSlam. Grand show overall, bit packed. But that's unavoidable, I guess.

Great graphics as usual. Decent opening match, actually thought the SCS would win the match. Figured Natalya would win, okay match there. Mixed on Spears winning since I have never seen him. But, if Swagger is going into the World Title hunt, then I'm all for it. Legacy winning is fine I suppose. I'd actually think it'd be better to have unified tag champs eventually. Good 4-way women's match, Katie Lea winning is something different for sure. Kofi as US Champ could be good if he has some nice feuds. Figured DiBiase would pick up the win. Figured Kennedy would have to win there as he has gotten killed in the feud up until that point. An eventual Swagger/Kennedy feud could be good. Mid-air RKO's are always fun, glad Orton won. Interesting to have Kane eliminated so quickly but it makes him look better to have everyone be afraid of him. Cena/MVP would be a good feud if it happens. Good PPV, just my only complaint was that besides the last few matches, the entire card was full of undercard stuff. I know it's tough though, since it's all title matches.

Amazing way to kick off the show! I am pleased that The New Hart Foundation was able to retain their belts over The Second City Saints in a great contest. I really like the Edge/Vickie/Stephanie segment. It makes Edge look wise and really makes the Vickie/Edge storyline relevant and useful. Natalya Neidhart retaining makes me pleased as she is a far better wrestler than Maria Kanellis. You are using the New Hart Foundation very well. I like the Shelton Benjamin and MVP segment, it was a good transition segment. I am extremely shocked to see Gavin Spears defeat Jack Swagger for the Television Championship. I think it is great that Spears won as it helps establish him and at the same time it allows Jack Swagger to move on to bigger and better things. Legacy retaining over The Technicians was a great decision as they could use a solid run with the titles. I hope this is not the end of The Technicians though as they are a solid tag team. I really dug The Brood segment, it was simple yet effective. I love Katie Lea Burchill winning the title and I feel that is a great choice. She can make a solid champion and I hope you book her well. I was shocked to see Kofi Kingston become the United States Champion, but I can not say that is a poor decision. He should have a great run with the belt. I would love to see The Brian Kendrick move up the ranks and eventually face off for the major gold. I am extremely pleased to see Ted Dibiase retain his title as he makes an amazing champion. Kennedy winning the ECW Heavyweight Championship makes sense and I think it is a great decision. Elijah Burke can move on to bigger and better things and Kennedy can do wonders as champion. I am also pleased to see the match got a decent amount of time. Randy Orton versus C.M Punk got a ton of time and that is great. I love that Orton retain as I feel he deserves a great reign as champion. I would love for Punk to stay in the main event scene as well as he deserves to be there. The main event was a tad of a cluster at times, but it was a solid match. I was shocked to see Kane be the first one eliminated, but kayfabe wise it makes sense. Triple H and Batista getting eliminated that early was a tad shocking as well. I think JBL should have been eliminated sooner as although I would have loved for him to win the belt, I doubt he could last 22 minutes in a match. I was really pulling for MVP, but john Cena winning is fine. I hope you do something major with Cena and it doesn’t become the same old crapthat he does in real life. I would love Cena versus MVP at Summerslam. Overall, a great show!

Hart Dynasty still champs b*tches! Natalya winning is awesome. Gavin Spears wins the f*cking title, YES! Womens title match was great and actually a good read. Kofi winning is ok, rather TBK. DiBiase winning is great. Legacy winning is cool. Kennedy wins! Orton vs Punk sounded like a great match. The WWE Title match was great. What a show kevdogs!

Good to see you managed to get NOC up! Hope the weekend was fun! Ah good opener here and happy to see the Hart Foundation retain definitely. Seemed like a pretty decent opener definitely and a nice ending to an enjoyable match. Excellent segment between Vickie/Steph/Edge and I was thinking Edge would be there to stop Vickie from doing anything stupid! Thank god Natalya retained or that would've been a disgrace. Phew! Funny segment with Benjamin and MVP. The Hey Show thing was pretty priceless. Oh boo, Swagger lost and to Gavin Spears out of all people. Not a fan! Spears a gentleman afterward as he checked on Tiffany instead of celebrating. Eh, not one of your high moments here. Thank the lord the 'Technicians' didn't take the belts off Legacy! Another good tag match; this must be bizzaro WWE as there are actually tag teams here. Wow, didn't see Katie taking the strap, but I am certainly happy about this one. And interesting that she pinned Victoria, although it WAS cheap. Hell yes Kofi new champion! Digging this one here definitely and I'm also surprised by it at the same time. Ah, in the next one I was looking for Bourne to pull it out, but I was wrong. Oh well, either way it was good for me man. NO! Kennedy won, this is a terrible PPV! I was really pulling for Elijah man, oh well, Kennedy had to win eventually. Excellent ending to the next match here with the mid-air catch RKO. Shame that Punk lost, but at least it was to Orton. Wow, I am shocked to see Cena gain the strap. Absolutely shocked! Kane eliminated first was a shocker definitely. Very nice PPV Kev, you never disappoint man!

6/29/09 Edition-So far, the reception of Night of Champions has been very good. Fans and management were pleased with the outcome. -The decision to have Ezekiel Jackson go over Matt Hardy last week on ECW was to see how he could do against a main event level face. The match was better than expected and Jackson drew some very good heat. Creative has some big plans for him and that includes a potential ECW Title run down the line. -Expect to see a CM Punk/Randy Orton rematch at The Bash, but this one may just possibly main event the show. Most likely due to Punk's growing popularity and the match being a specialty match. -Obviously, the reason Shelton Benjamin is beginning a program with the Big Show is to get him a main event level feud or two before he cashes in Money in the Bank to see how well he does in those situations. If he doesn't do well, management is not against him becoming the first man to cash in his title shot and lose.

Nice, NOC, I liked the WWE Title. So glad Cena won. But don't let him have it for 380 days like real life maybe he could lose on No Mercy or something. Orton vs. Punk was a hellacious match. I would love to see everything you type in real life. Your rising

Damn, Night of Champions was a HUGE write up. Good way to open the show with the WWE Tag Team Championship match. A lot of good back and forth action. The finish was awesome, and the New Hart Foundation retaining makes me happy. I'm not really a fan of the Second City Saints. Not much to say about the Natalya/Maria match, other than thank God that you had Natalya win. Maria is a terrible wrestler, unlike Natalya, who is awesome. The World Tag Team Championship match was decent, I prefered the WWE Tag Team Championships match, though. Legacy retaining was no surprise with their cheating ways. Wow, putting the belt on Katie Lea Burchill shocked me, tbh. It was an awesome match, though. Both the US and IC title matches were great. I wish you would've kept the US on TBK, but Kofi is fine. Dibiase keeping the IC is good, Bourne winning it would've been better, but that's just me. I'm a fan of both, so atleast they put on a good match. The ECW and WHC matches were amazing. Both just great matches. The final part of the match was intense. A lot of false finishes, and it was really entertaining. The main event was an awesome match. Everyone attacking the champion is realistic. MVP being the last person with Cena was surprising, tbh. It's telling me that you wre wanting to make him a top star, and imo, that's awesome. Cena winning is cool, and I would love to see him have a feud with MVP. Overall, a good show. Keep it up, man.

- Solid opening match though I was hoping the Saints would win since I am a fan of Cabana. - not a fan of having the womens match second. I’d use that match to give a breather between the bigger matches on the card. - Good win for Spears. Figuring Swagger will be going on to bigger and better things. - Liked the heel finish with Legacy retaining over Haas and Noble. - Was not expecting Katie to win the match. - Ok match with Kendrick and Kofi. Kofi winning is alright. - Ted Jr. is such a great wrestler to have the IC title on. I hope he has the belt for a very long time. - Kennedy winning is not surprising. Hopefully Burke isn’t lost in the shuffle and remains a top player. - Very nice finish to Orton/Punk. Orton retaining works for me. - Surprised to see Kane still holding the belt. Not a fan of Cena winning the belt, and I don’t see you taking the strap off of him soon.

June 29th, 2009 Oracle Arena in Oakland, California Attendance: 16,268
Raw’s weekly video package displayed highlights of last night’s four title matches. It first showed Katie Lea Burchill become Women’s Champion for the first time. Next it showed Cody Rhodes and Joe Henning retain the World Tag Team Titles, followed by Ted Dibiase Jr. retaining the Intercontinental Championship. The last part of the video showed each elimination in last night’s Six Pack Challenge and it ended with John Cena walking out as the new Champion. After the opening pyrotechnics, Jerry “The King” Lawler and Michael Cole welcome us to tonight’s exciting edition of Raw. They hype up tonight’s Battle Royal main event to determine the number one contender for the WWE Championship at the Bash next month. They also wonder if they will hear from former WWE Champion, Kane and they promote the fact that the new General Manager will be in attendance tonight!“My Time is Now” blasts over the loudspeakers as John Cena made his way to the ring with the WWE Championship on his shoulder to a huge ovation from the crowd. He gets on the microphone and yells that “THE CHAMP IS HERE AGAIN” and that got another loud pop. He begins to talk about how great the Six Pack Challenge match was and that it will go down as one of his favorite matches ever. He then goes on to talk about tonight’s Battle Royal. He says that fifteen men will compete for a shot at this title and no matter who wins; he will defend his title with honor and dignity. He is cut off by the theme music of MVP, who comes out with Eve. MVP gets on the microphone and congratulates the new Champion on his victory. Cena thanks him and calls him one hell of a competitor and says that he was a tough man to put away at the end. MVP tells him that in a one on one match, he’ll be even harder to put down. He also brings up tonight’s Battle Royal and states that the new General Manager of Raw left him a note telling him that he won’t have a chance at a title shot at The Bash because he has a shot at SummerSlam set up due to winning the King of the Ring. He gets up in Cena’s face and tells him that if he’s still Champion come SummerSlam, MVP plans on taking the WWE Title from him. Cena tells him that he’ll be glad for the opportunity to face him in a one on one match. The two shake hands as we go to commercial and the crowd ate up the entire segment and loved MVP. Commercial Break.
Singles Match Evan Bourne vs. Ryan Braddock w/ Candice MichelleThese two turned in a good, solid match as Braddock looked to impress his Cabinet stable mates and Bourne wants another crack at the Intercontinental Championship. Braddock showed some impressive power early on by nailing a variety of slams. Bourne would do as he always does, and make the impressive underdog comeback and finished off the match with the Shooting Star Press. Winner: Evan Bourne (6:37) **½After the match, Jayson Paul and Shad Gaspard ran down and attacked Evan Bourne. Braddock joined in on the assault. They continued it until Tyler Reks and Johnny Curtis ran out to even the score. The Cabinet retreated while the announcers promoted Tyler Reks’ singles match with Jayson Paul later tonight.Commercial Break. We return to see The Cabinet enter JBL’s locker room. JBL tells Braddock that while he’s disappointed in his loss, he’s happy that they got the best of their opponents. He tells Paul that he better win later tonight and make sure that the Cabinet doesn’t look bad. JBL promises to cap off the night by winning the Battle Royal main event tonight.Singles Match Kaval vs. Paul Burchill w/ Layla London, William Regal & Women’s Champion Katie Lea BurchillMuch like Kaval’s debut match, this one was very good. It was very even throughout and we got to see a little more of Kaval’s arsenal. Burchill would hit some of his signature moves and attempted the C4, but Kaval elbowed out of it. He then nailed a stiff kick to the head. He climbed to the top to deliver his Warrior’s Way double stomp, but Regal knocked him off the top and caused the disqualification. Winner by DQ: Kaval (6:54) **¾The Burchill/Regal connection continued the beating and Burchill ended it with a C4 onto Kaval and left him lying in the middle of the ring.
We cut to the back, where Josh Matthews is standing by with Triple H. The Game begins to talk about how he failed in his ultimate goal of winning the WWE Championship last night. But tonight, he has a chance in the Battle Royal. He plans on taking out Batista in it, winning it and going on to defeat John Cena at The Bash.Commercial Break. We return to see a camera fixed on the parking lot area. Michael Cole tells us that the camera is there to be on the lookout for the arrival of Raw’s new General Manager.
Legacy’s theme music hits as the three of them make their way to the ring. Ted Dibiase Jr. grabs a microphone first and he talks about how Legacy swept their matches last night and that they are continuing to be a dominant faction even without Randy Orton. He has led them to control half of the Championships on the Raw brand. Henning then speaks about how there is no tag team in the WWE that can compete with them. They are the Legacy of this business and they will continue to rule it for years to come. At that point Lillian Garcia is handed a note by an official and she tells Legacy that the new Raw General Manager has declared that next week on Raw, all three members of Legacy will be defending their Titles against mystery opponents. Legacy is livid in the ring as we go to commercial.Commercial Break.
Divas Tag Team Match Women’s Champion Katie Lea Burchill & Beth Phoenix vs. Mickie James & MelinaAs expected, this was a pretty good divas match. James began the match on fire and hit both Katie Lea and Beth with everything that she had. Eventually though, the heels managed to gain the upper hand. They used that to work over Mickie and prevent her from making the tag. As always, Mickie managed to make the tag and Melina came in and cleaned house. Despite her coming in on fire, Katie Lea put her away with the hair pull back breaker. Winners: Women’s Champion Katie Lea Burchill & Beth Phoenix (5:03) **In the back, we see a limousine pull up. Is the new Raw General Manager here?Commercial Break. In the back, we see a short promo from Kaval. The crowd seemed a little confused by his unusual voice and way of talking but he got his point across. He wants a rematch with Paul Burchill next week.Singles Match Jayson Paul w/ Shad Gaspard & Candice Michelle vs. Tyler Reks w/ Johnny CurtisMost were surprised but this turned out to be a rather good contest. Paul opened up as the aggressive one. He hit a big lariat and a diving shoulder block but only got a two. Reks fired back and nailed his High Tide elbow drop but Shad pulled the referee out of the ring. That caused Curtis and Shad to brawl on the outside. Reks went for the Big Kahuna [springboard moonsault] but Candice tugged on the second rope and caused Reks to wipe out. As he got up, Paul jumped off the second rope and connected with a face buster to end it. Winner: Jayson Paul (5:09) **The cameras cut to the back, where we see Batista walking to the arena. The 15 man Number One Contender Battle Royal is next!Commercial Break. We return to see fourteen men already in the ring and then John Cena's theme music hits. The Champ makes his way down the ramp and gets on commentary.Number One Contender Battle Royal Batista vs. Charlie Haas vs. Cody Rhodes vs. Evan Bourne vs. Kaval vs. Jamie Noble vs. Joe Henning vs. John Bradshaw Layfield vs. Paul Burchill vs. R-Truth vs. Ryan Braddock vs. Ted Dibiase Jr. vs. Triple H vs. William RegalThe announcers point out that Kane is scheduled to be the 15th man but he is nowhere to be found. Onto the match, the first nine men eliminated were probably the ten you’d least expect to win. They were, in order, Jamie Noble, Kaval, William Regal, Paul Burchill, Charlie Haas, Cody Rhodes, Joe Henning, and R-Truth. The final five were Batista, Evan Bourne, JBL, Triple H & Ted Dibiase Jr. As expected, Dibiase and Bourne battled in a corner by themselves, while Batista and Triple H went at it. JBL stayed away from the action until he crept up on Bourne and Ted and tossed them both out. He attempted to do the same to Batista and Triple H, but they saw him coming and they both pulled down the top rope to send him to the outside. Batista and Triple H were the final two men left. They battled for about five minutes until a clothesline from The Animal sent them both over at the same time. Winners: Triple H & Batista (11:27) ***The referees begin to argue about whose feet hit the floor first. Two of them say that Triple H is the winner, and the other two say it’s Batista. Suddenly, a familiar theme song hits. “I’M BACK…AND I’M BETTER THAN EVER…” Eric Bischoff comes out to the top of the ramp. He has a microphone in hand. He announces that he is once again the General Manager of Raw. The crowd is stunned at this announcement. He talks about how Raw will change with him at the helm and his first official order of business is to fix this problem that we have right now. At next month’s The Bash Pay-Per-View, John Cena will defend his WWE Championship…in a Triple Threat match against both Batista and Triple H! The crowd goes nuts at this announcement and the three Superstars stare each other down. The last image seen on Raw this week is Bischoff sporting a smile at the top of the ramp.© WWE 2009
