Thursday 1st January 2009 - Orlando, Florida
- The usual TNA Wrestling: Cross The Line segment plays hyping up the upcoming program here next on Spike.
- A video package airs reminding us of last week's edition of TNA iMPACT in which featured AJ Styles and Rhino beating Sting and Booker T before hell broke loose in the arena between the TNA Frontline and the Main Event Mafia. The opening video package airs, hyping up the program even further as it shows numerous clips of action-packed matches with some more changes to the opening video. Anybody notice that the theme 'Cross The Line' sounds a lot like Pillar's 'Reckless Youth'?

Motor City Machine Guns defeated Rock 'n' Rave Infection in 7:38. Wow, the Rock 'n' Rave Infection have really gone downhill, especially since Christy Hemme left the group. Anyways, this was an amazing way to kick off this edition of TNA iMPACT, the second show of this year. Despite Lance Rock being the odd one out in terms of styles in this match, the match had amazing flow and even Rock did some high-offensive moves. Rock was mainly used the man who worked down one of the Machine Guns, though. Jimmy Rave did some of the work but Rock did more. Alex Shelley and Jimmy Rave started, in which both men tore down the house, they did some high-offense moves inside and outside of the ring as well as some technical mat work. Rock got the tag and worked on Shelley for a while with Rave but then Sabin came in and after a few amazing double-team moves, Sabin wrapped it up with the Cradle Shock on Rave.

- Before we go to our first set of commercials, Mike Tenay and Don West run down the card, including the first-hour main event between Matt Morgan and Abyss as well as the main event between Samoa Joe and Scott Steiner.
- Following the commercial break, we see Samoa Joe arriving, a bag on his shoulder as Jeremy Borash confronts him, asking Joe about his match here tonight against 'Big Poppa Pump', Scott Steiner. Joe promises to get retribution for TNA Frontline in this match alone, here tonight.
- We see a replay from last week's edition of TNA iMPACT in which it was Christy Hemme taking on Raisha Saeed, which was a rubbish match. It showed the finish in which Hemme landed on the concrete following a backdrop off of the apron, courtesy of Saeed. Tenay said that Hemme had suffered a minor concussion and can not compete at TNA Genesis this Sunday against Awesome Kong. West announces that instead, tonight later on it will be Roxxi and ODB taking on Raisha Saeed and Rhaka Khan and if Roxxi/ODB wins, then both will go on to face Awesome Kong at Genesis.
- We see another replay in which we see the segment from last week where 'Mrs Sarah Palin' turned out to be former WCW lady, Daffney. Daffney pronounced herself Daphney before embarrassing the Beautiful People.
- We go live to the arena where Daphney is seen on her way out to the ring to the theme of some techno music. She gets into the ring and tells us all that the Beautiful People will do anything to try and get revenge so she has taken the liberty of assigning two young men to guard her against them. The Naturals, Andy Douglas and Chase Stevens then made their way out to the ring.
-
Andy Douglas defeated Cute Kip in 8:04. This was a fairly decent singles affair in the second match of this evening. Andy Douglas was accompanied by Daphney and Chase Stevens, and trust me he did not look like he had any ring rust or uncomfortability in this six-sided ring. Cute Kip tried to score the win over Douglas pretty early on but failed to succeed as Andy continuously slid out of the signature move of Kip. Angelina Love and Velvet Sky accompanied Kip to the ring as each of them attempted to make their way around ringside to get near to Daphney only for Chase Stevens to get in the way. Daphney made a good decision, it matches her gimmick to have two handsome guys like the Naturals there for her. Andy eventually nailed a Tornado DDT but right then, former WWE superstar Mark Jindrak jumped the guardrail, dived into the ring and jumped Douglas for the disqualification!

- After the match, Mark Jindrak and Cute Kip began to double team Andy Douglas, attempted a Spiked DDT of some sort only for Chase Stevens to hit the ring. Angelina Love and Daphney then jumped on one another in a catfight only for Chase to pull Love off of Daphney. The foursome of the Beautiful People made their way to the back as we go elsewhere.
- We see ODB at the set of her old talkshow, ODB's Angle in which she gets up off of her chair and takes a swig of beer. She heads off the set, mumbling revenge against Raisha Saeed and Rhaka Khan before turning off the lightswitch of the set, leaving us in darkness.
- We head to the backstage area where now Lauren Brooke was standing by with the Beautiful People in which Mark Jindrak introduces himself as Magnificent Mark, the partner of Cute Kip. Kip and Mark announce plans to take out the Naturals, because they can not guard their precious Daphney twenty-four hours a day. The two knockouts tell us what they're gonna do with Daphney, embarrassingly saying that they'll flush her face in a toilet.
-
ODB and Roxxi defeated Rhaka Khan and Raisha Saeed in 6:24. This match was a fiarly okay one, but there was a huge change of morale in the space of two minutes as unlike when ODB turned off the lightswitch showing anger, she came out as wacky as ever. Her gimmick is starting to annoy me, like a failed TNA version of Lita. Anyways, Rhaka Khan, who is just one fine sexy looking lady and forever showing her crack (that ain't a bad thing) wasn't too bad in the ring but still lacks some things like selling ODB and Roxxi's moves. Roxxi was actually a little sloppy in there. The match was fought under tornado tag rules, everybody anywhere that is. Saeed could of won with some nice kicks to ODB (ODB did some good selling) but then, the Voodoo Drop by Roxxi on Raisha won it. Roxxi and ODB are going to face Awesome Kong for her TNA World Knockouts Championship at TNA Genesis, Sunday night.

- Kurt Angle is seen arriving at the arena, Jeremy Borash attempts to catch a word with the former Olympic Gold Medalist only for Angle to put his hand up in JB's face, walking into the iMPACT Zone.
-
Kevin Nash defeated Matt Morgan in 9:15. This wasn't too bad of a match, it was actually pretty decent, but just slightly below average. Nash did some selling but didn't do a whole lot of selling unfortunately. He sold punches, maybe he did on the canvas as well but he was slightly sluggish. Morgan did some sweet stiff moves in this match, this was like I said before, a decent first hour main event match here on TNA iMPACT. Nash could of won on numerous occasions like with a chokeslam when Morgan was impressively/suprisingly on the top rope but he refused to. Nash then set up for the Jackknife Powerbomb only for Morgan to get out of it, and setting up for the Carbon Footprint big boot only for Nash to sell for a while against the ropes. That's when Abyss came down the ramp, holding a chair and the infamous black bag of thumbtacks. Abyss seemed pissed, the first in a long time as he purposely clocked Nash with the chair triggering the disqualification!

- Post-match, Morgan got in Abyss' face asking him why he got pissed. Abyss apologized quickly before opening the black bag and spreading thumbtacks everywhere only for Morgan to hold Abyss back as Kevin Nash fleed the ring. Abyss shoved Morgan as both men got in each others face, Morgan yelling 'what's going through your head you idiot'. We go to the commercials.
- We head to the backstage area where Kevin Nash is seen running (well, trying to run) back into the Main Event Mafia locker-room as Nash asks Booker T, Sharmell and Sting why they didn't do a thing. Booker spoils it as he says that Sting told them that Nash knew what he was doing out there. Nash thanks them in a sarcastic manner as Sting tells him to calm down as he never got seriously hurt out there. We see Kurt Angle storm in behind Nash as Kevin's anger seemingly vanishes, focusing on Angle. Nash asks Angle what's up with him as Kurt just says that tonight he doesn't have a match or his gear, but he is going to go and kick somebody's ass.
-
HE'S COMING BACK!-Another hype video for the lame Russo and game-inspired Suicide character. Why can't it just be Kaz? Guess its inavoidable now.
-
Homicide defeated James Storm in 8:51. This match was a great encounter between two men who have previously had encounters in tag team action more notably. Homicide, the holder of the TNA X-Division Championship Briefcase was accompanied by the holder of the TNA World Heavyweight Championship briefcase, Hernandez as TNA World Tag Team Champion, James Storm was accompanied by partner, Robert Roode. This, like I said previously was a solid encounter between two members of the actual TNA roster, not a member of the TNA Frontline or the Main Event Mafia whatsoever. However I fail to see Hernandez en route to winning the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, though I can Homicide winning the TNA X-Division Championship. Homicide and Storm had some good technical action before Homicide repeatedly attempted the Cop Killer for Storm to reverse. Managers, Roode and Hernandez began to brawl on the outside as Jay Lethal's voices saying 'OOOH YEAH' was heard over the PA system. Storm, distracted as Homicide hit the West Brooklyn Lariat.

- We take a look at the big screen as LAX head towards the backstage area, Beer Money Inc looking on in shock as Jay Lethal cuts a promo telling Beer Money not to mess with his buddy because he will miss with them. I hope Jay Lethal and Consequences Creed win the titles, to be honest, Beer Money's reign is slightly overlonging.
- One more hype video for Scott Steiner vs. Samoa Joe airs.
- An advertisement for Global iMPACT II airs, which will be airing at 9pm tomorrow night on Spike!
-
Scott Steiner defeated Samoa Joe in 10:06. This was actually one of Scott Steiner's finest showing here in Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling to date. These two tore the roof off of the iMPACT Zone and it was that good. Joe and Steiner's hard-hitting slugging stiff styles meshed in perfectly, it was an amazing showing by both men. This, to a lesser extent was as good as the opening tag team match, probably second place for match of the night though. It was back and forth as Joe was 'killing' Scott before Steiner sneakily used Sting's bat (why was that there) to damage Joe's shoulder. Steiner worked on it but when attempting the Steiner Recliner, Joe fought back as Sting wandered down the ramp. Joe hit a sloppy Muscle Buster on Steiner as the official dealt with Sting now on the apron as Joe went after him. Rhino then ran down the ramp and delivered a thunderous Gore to Sting as Steiner used the bat to knock Joe out, behind the referee's back. That was it.
***
- A decent showing by everybody on the card, this is a major improvement to last week's TNA iMPACT as well. The opening contest was by far obviously the match of the night as it was an amazingly good showing. The storyline with Daphney and the Beautiful People have caught my eye as has the debut of Magnificent Mark and the return of former NWA World Tag Team Champions, the Naturals. The main event and first-hour main event was extremely impressive as Nash and Steiner haven't had that good a match on iMPACT in a while. Genesis should rock the world down in Charlotte.
