-- Like Team 3D's Brother Ray, Frontline wrestler Samoa Joe will be taking some time off to sell injuries from a recent beatdown by the Main Event Mafia. Joe is expected to be kept off television until the week before TNA's Genesis PPV on January 11th.
-- Former TNA World Heavyweight Champion Samoa Joe and his wife welcomed the birth of their first son yesterday.

Yeah, I posted the baby thing. Also.. he's not taking time off because he's a dad. These iMPACTs leading into the Genesis PPV was filmed weeks back and he just had the kid - so no.

Yeah, because iMPACT for this week and the 1/9(?)/09 one (1/1 will be a "Best of" show btw) was filmed back on 12/16 - I fail to see how he' taking "time off" for the birth tbh. It's just because he off the beatdown on iMPACT - it has nothing to do with the kid. |

He could very well be taking time off because he knew his child was due in the coming weeks and wanted to take time off AFTER 12/16 so they wrote the angle that just happened to air days before his wife had their kid... It could very well be to spend time with his newborn, there is really nothing to say otherwise... |

That's what I'm trying to say - he didn't need to take any time off due to the fact all the shows are filmed before she gave birth and aren't taping until after the Genesis PPV. According to this he'll be on next weeks show - which has been filmed so I really doubt he got time off because she was gonna give birth. In other freaking' words - it's just a coincidence. Joe didn't take ANY time off people. He was "took out" on the 12/18 iMPACT which was taped on 12/9 He's "re-appearing" according to this on 1/8 which was taped on 12/16. He doesn't have another TNA show until the House Show in NC which is 1/9. Other words - He didn't take time off. |

You got it in just before the deadline! A few more weeks and you would have had to wait an entire year to see if you won!
