Scored my first ever Muay Thai Knee KO in career mode in my last fight. Damn that is an awesome feeling to connect with the knee in the clinch and just see your opponent buckle.
Here's how my career mode is shaping up so far:
ZT "The Buzzsaw" Styles Weight Class: Welterweight Disciplines: Muay Thai and BJJ Record: 7-2-0 Ranking: 16
No fights have gone to decision, and all of them have been wars. Every fight has ended in TKO or KO fashion. I love the career mode and how there is actual strategy in prepping for fights in balancing training, sparring, and rest.

CAF is both awesome and disappointing at the same time in that you can make CAFs that look perfect in game but the lack of options eliminate the possibility of making some of the more unique MMA fighters. It's really aggravating that the weight limit is 235 when Brock is 265. Looking back, I won't be able to make some of the guys that I wanted. My god, I don't believe I can even name 50 guys I would want to create since this game already has so many fighters. Well, let's see: 1. Randy Couture 2. Fedor Emelianenko 3. Royce Gracie 4. Ken Shamrock 5. Bas Rutten 6. Dan Severn 7. Frank Shamrock 8. Tank Abbott9. Josh Barnett 10. Don Frye 11. Rickson Gracie 12. Minoru Suzuki 13. Bob Sapp14. Gary Goodridge 15. Mark Kerr 16. Akira Maeda17. Naoya Ogawa 18. Ernesto Hoost not going to bother since I can't make Sapp 19. Kazuyuki Fujita see above 20. KIMO21. AKEBONO22. Bobby Lashley (for the lulz)23. Kimbo Slice (see above)24. Seth Petruzelli (so I can KO Kimbo) not going to bother since I can't make Kimbo

I did something like it my last demo fight. Shogun went for a fresh takedown about 3:20 in to Round 1, and I hit a low knee to the left side of his face. Shogun went down like a sack of sh*t. It was f*cking great. Best KO I've had in like my 50, maybe 60 demo fights. I'll be making a few CAF's, more than likely Fedor so I can KTFO of Arlovski.

I don't know why but I can blow past everyone in career mode but when it comes to facing Justin McCully, I always get knocked out and I get pissed off.

I am in love with the career mode of this game. Every win you feel like you really did earn it through balancing your training and resting. Even more sweet is the feeling when you avenge a prior loss.
Last night I had my first ever fight to go to a decision, it was a war between me and Matt Serra. I'll give him credit, he did win it outright, but I stayed in there and wouldn't let him finish me. Shortly after I got an offer to be on an upcoming card with Serra as one of my possible opponents. I took the fight and after that all of my training I focused on the things that let him beat me last time.
This morning I fight the fight and I wasn't going to let him beat me again. I came out swinging, Thai clinched him, kept throwing knee after knee, pulled him to my guard, then using my BJJ transitioned to mount and them pounded the piss out of him until I got a KO at 2:52 of round 1.
Revenge is oh so sweet.
My record is now 13-5-0 and I've avanged all of my losses but one, but that is only because my first loss was in my 2nd fight, against a low level guy, and my career has soared since then and I'm way out of his league, so I get the last laugh there anyway.
God I love this game!

Just got home from Gamestop a little while ago and picked up my reserved copy. I've played like 5 or 6 fights. I also just finished one of those Classic Fight modes matches. (BJ Penn vs. Sean Sherk) Pretty cool mode) So far, I'm loving the game. *goes back to play more* o btw u can watch me play here; www.blocked/kodywfnmz[/cheapplug] Even adding .com to that link it didnt work... I cant wait to buy this game. oh, haha. I didn't even realize WF has that site blocked. It's a site that allows live streaming.
Anyway, so I played this game for several hours and here's what I think so far: Gameplay is great, but I honestly see it's fun warring off after a few more months. I like Career mode so far, it's fun. But... quite a few problems; -Loads times, along with the load times in CAF and eveyrthing else, is just SO annoying. Way to long. -I don't think your fighter ages. I've already gone through a year, and my guy is still 18 years old. I picked that age, because I assumed it'd mean more time to play, and build up a career...but now that I know he doesn't age, I would've picked like 26 years old or something. -CAF is very disappointing. Some parts are cool, but overall it's a let down. Especially the nick name aspect. I HATE it. The list is like 10 names, and they all suck. I picked 'Quick Silver'. meh. I was hoping they'd have like other sports game have used, a huge list of first names, and a huge list of last names to pick from, so the announcers can say them. Or type in your own, and the announcer says some generic thing. -I too wish you could do fights between guys in different weight classes, but I suppose it's not that big of a deal.

I really like this game so far starting to get far in career mode. I am the number 1 contender and 185 and will be fighting Anderson Silva at the next PPV. He is the only champ from the start that is still champ without losing the title. Not sure if that is just how good he is or if that is how it is for the champ in your weight class. Only Dan Henderson has beatin me without be either beating him first or me beating him later. I have beaten Franklin 3 times and after the last which ended in TKO he complained the fight was stopped early. I really enjoy all the stuff that happens in between fights and makes you get amped up for each fight. I have learned to not take every fight offered on short notice as it changes the style you were preparing for and you may be low on stamina for the fight.

Yep. I've been burned by taking short notice fights too. Seems like lately every one of them turns out bad for me. I'm starting to turn them down.

the only ones I take now aren't that short of notice and the style of fighter is either similar to the guy I was already getting ready to fight or is something I match up againist better.

i can't beat Tito Ortiz, he gets me on the ground and knocks me out every time. It's almost impossible to get him off.

I just beat Anderson Silva and I am now the new champ at 185. Beat him by TKO in the first round at 3:59, won fight of the night. I got a little lucky was was breaking his clinches pretty well only once or twice did he really get much damage in during them. I figured I was going to lose when he had be down but he let me up after not be able to get into a better postion. Dana putting the title around the my waist was cool and I hope that I will be able to defend my title for a while.
