onlineIf you're getting you're ass kicked online, just practice more. It's an in Depth fighting game, plus....you're the one choosing who you fight You're not really choosing who you fight when you're options are someone 20 levels higher than you and no one. Yeah, but that still doesn't mean they're good at fighting. It just means they've won a few matches here and there, maybe got that 'lucky' shot in against a higher ranked guy. I'm at a high level, to where fighting people at level one can be crazy. If I lose those fights, somehow, i'm done for. My points vanish and i'm down 10 levels. (i've never lost against a low level person yet...) Just remember, when you're on the ground and someone is trying to get in 'mount' hold the right analog stick either left or right (dependning) they can't get by. They're going to have to punch you until you block, so they can take advantage or you reverse it. The ground game is crazy, fun, once you get into it..but getting mounted (heh) is horrible.

Just got it, my first match was Lesnar vs Arlovski and it was a close one. The thing that always gets me though is submissions. I can counter fine but I can't even apply.

I hate the grappling techniques in Career Mode, I suck at them and takes me a while to rack up to the next level. And it is impossible to try to get out of a mount with a minor transition, Suck's you have to unlock new strikes and grapples..

The 2nd time we fought it was AWESOME! He tried taking me down and I got on top and Powerbombed his A** into half guard. Got off of him he tried to make me tap for the second time in the match I knocked him down went over top and punch the unholy hell out of him until the ref stopped the fight. AWESOME

Just had a tough match on Expert in Exhibition. I was GSP vs Sean Sherk and in the 3rd round I managed to beat Sherk by TKO 4 seconds before it was decision time; and I didn't do too good in it so that TKO saved me.

You're not really choosing who you fight when you're options are someone 20 levels higher than you and no one. Eh, just be selective about who you fight for awhile, look at their record, don't take anyone on with a ridiculous winning percentage. My point is that when I was looking for matches, it either paired me with someone many levels higher than me or told me that there were no available matches.

How in the hell do you throw a head kick on '360? I keep getting owned by those, I want to once not be on the receiving end.

I just do player matches. I pick Welterweight and kick the **** out of GSP all day. You can spot the people who never let go of the LB button because they see that 94 overall rating and say "GIMME". Typically I just take them down and end it within a minute. How in the hell do you throw a head kick on '360? I keep getting owned by those, I want to once not be on the receiving end. LB + Kick Button. Your fighter has to have Kickboxing as a style, or be one of a select few badesses who doesn't but can still throw them anyway, like Josh Koscheck.

Thai fighters have the head kick too btw.

Oh, I wouldn't know because I find Muay Thai to be completely useless.

How am I supposed to use the knees in the clinch? Look absolutely sick but can't for the life of me figure out how to do em!

How am I supposed to use the knees in the clinch? Look absolutely sick but can't for the life of me figure out how to do em! You have to be a Muay Thai fighter first of all. When you have the double handed clinch on, press down on the thumbstick. This will pull the opponent's head down and when the timing is right press one of the kick buttons.

Loving this game. Nearly unbeatable standing up, but awful still when the fight goes to the ground..

Is there actually any button combinations you can use when you're trying to defend submissions other than bashing the out of your controller?
