Very repetitive, and they force you to retire after you win the belt.

Very repetitive, and they force you to retire after you win the belt. Yeah...no they don't. They make you retire after seven years.

The career is 7 years you get an email at the start of the 7th year from Dana telling you that this is the last year on the contract and that they can't clear you to fight after the contract is up because of all the fights you have had. The career is a little repetitve as if you are the champ for a while as I have been in two of my careers you seem to only have maybe two or three guys that are ranked in the top 5 and if you want a new guy to fight you have to take the guy at 4 or 5. Hopefully in the next game they will allow you to switch weight classes and get some new fights.

Career sucks, but the rest is fine. UFC's career mode is nowhere near as bad as SVR 09's career mode.

For me so far, career is actually very fun. Im 2-0 with a TKO and a KO. This is a great game, I love it.

...heh, I created a Monkey to beat the crapout of people on that game. People hate when I get them in the mount and pound their face in..it looks funny as hell, being a monkey and all

I wish there was a little thing in there like the pride tournament of the open league when you can get anyone from any weight to fight each other.

I was discussing this with KSL a while back, and I think a PRIDE mode (in general) would make awesome DLC. Grand Prix's, PRIDE attire for the former PRIDE stars already in the game, knees to a downed opponents, head stomps...not a time goes by when I've got someone sprawled that I don't think "Man, I would LOVE to knee this er in the head right now".

I'm having tons of trouble with my ground game when I'm on my back. I always get knocked out within seconds. I'm pretty good with stopping and preforming submissions, but I can't seem to stop the punches.
Any help?

You need to stop the person from transitioning into mount.

I personally think the career mode is great, as long as you avoid Muay Thai fighters. Clinch>Knee>All Over.
In the heavyweight division, try to fight Arlovski as much as possible. If you've got head kick or superman punch, you'll beat him sh*tless each time as he has no chin. 6 head kicks and 4 superman punches and I had his ass KO'd. And I'm only a 56 OVR... Strength, Speed and Cardio late 70's, early 80s (for strength), and all my grapple and takedown etc. stats are above 45.

I was wondering if there was anything in particular I wasn't doing, or if there is some kind of trick to blocking punches, and maybe reversing into a submission.

This sucks, I'm 24-3.
I picked Damian Maia to fight, I'm the champ.
and I just remembered two of my losses are from him.
